getting up at 5am is such a scam

every time i open rule of wolves to read a zoya or nikolai chapter it’s too much for me why do i read this stupid beautiful poetic crap

i mean this affectionately of course…

for example. i open it at breakfast. i read nikolai thinking “zoya should be here” on the morning of what the readers are convinced to believe is his wedding and touching her blue ribbon that he has kept in his pocket. i die.

(also he literally reacts to half the stuff in that chapter by thinking of zoya. i just— poor thing he needs her back :((((

girlhood is so bittersweet

I really adore the casually prioritized importance of friendships in the new Twisters movie. Like obviously there were sparks of romance that i thoroughly enjoyed but the point is that that was never the point. The way that Javi and Kate took care of each other and looked out for each other even when they were fighting. The way the whole tornado wranglers crew acted like family and welcomed Kate right in. The way Tyler was genuinely interested in getting to know Kate and working together with her. There was no big fight between Javi and Tyler over Kate or anybody else. Kate spent the whole movie processing a lot of trauma and was able to be supported by the friends surrounding her instead of having all of her interactions stopped up with an intense budding romance. I just really love it when friendship and people are the most important things.

I like can’t look at tumblr much during the day because of this hectic work thing (that goes for the next 6 weeks) and I feel like I’m missing a lot. Also this job might just be like this all the time, I guess we’ll see.

If I missed something I promise I wish I saw it! I can only dip in here in the evening and I know there must be so much cool stuff happening that I’m just totally missing right now. 😔🧡

love the fact that Zoya’s like “all part of the act Your Highness” when she indirectly calls Nikolai handsome, (KoS Ch. 11) because meanwhile, her thoughts are just:

“Nikolai was rich, handsome and beset by a tragic past. Perfect daydream fodder.”

and she’s always thinking about his golden hair and how it’s gilded by the sun and his “perfectly polished boots” and his tousled hair that makes him look “less a king than a boy in need of kissing” and she even describes the demon with “the elegant lines of its face”…

not to mention, here she said it directly:

“The public may forget how handsome I am.” “I doubt it. Your face is on the money.”

that bit is just too funny not too include.

Meanwhile (painfully), Nikolai thinks she’s never given anything him even close to a compliment until “I suppose the world would be less interesting without you in it.”

(Of course, both of their attractiveness is more of a fact of life than something either of them think of as a commendation, but that’s a rant for another day)
