You recently said ur an encyclopedia of lightcannon. So I want to know what light cannon media is there, also just what lux media is there. New to the fandom and I just want all the canon lux stuff to get a solid grasp on what exists. also maybe a reading order/watch order.

Oh gosh. So this is the tricky thing with Lux, she's one of the oldest champions in League of Legends so she has a LOT of lore, but it's all scattered around.

She also has a TON of skins, she's one of the most popular champions for new skins to the point that it's almost a meme, so there are a LOT of Alternate Universe Luxes out there, and one of them (Star Guardian) is what popularized (but didn't actually start) the Lightcannon ship.

You can find a good chunk of her core Runeterra lore on her Universe page. I recommend all of the material written by Graham McNeill, including her bio and the "For Demacia" story. "Last Light" and "Flesh and Stone" are also excellent.

The "LUX" comic produced with Marvel, however, was where her story (and all of Demacia's) kicked up a notch, with the introduction of Sylas of Dregbourne, an imprisoned mage who teaches Lux how to control her power and introduces her to the truth about Demacia's brutal persecution of mages like both of them.

That said, even though Very Important Story Things happen in the Lux comic, there's a general consensus among Lux/lightcannon fans that the comic isn't very well written and mischaracterizes both Lux and Sylas pretty badly.

The Katarina comic retells some of the same events from the POV of infamous Noxian assassin, Katarina DuCoteau, and Lux does briefly appear in it, and her interaction with Katarina is pretty freaking great. So I recommend looking at this one, it's much better than the Lux one overall.

After that, the Riot Forge game studio (which has now been shuttered) produced a spinoff game starring Sylas called The Mageseeker.

This is actually a really rad little game that I recommend to anyone, especially anyone interested in Demacia lore or in any of the characters involved.

Lux is a prominent character, though she only appears pretty late into the story, and it follows up on the fallout from Lux and Sylas's friendship, the mage rebellion, and Sylas's betrayal of Lux in a way that is just really well done and IMO does justice to both characters.

(as well as making even more explicit than the Kat comic did that their relationship was only ever a platonic friendship/mentor relationship, but I digress)

It also leaves Lux in a really, REALLY interesting position in terms of her story and her role in Demacia, that I think has a lot of story meat, and that has factored into a lot of Lightcannon fics especially post Season Two.

It hasn't been officially explored from there, though. The next (and chronologically final) time we see Lux is in the "Warriors" promo video from Season 2020:

...where her truce with Sylas from the Mageseeker game doesn't seem to have lasted too long 😮

It's also probably the most baddass Lux we've seen depicted yet.

Legends of Runeterra, the spinoff card game, also does a couple of good Lux stories, including the recent "Lux Illuminated" where we see Lux dreaming (literally, she's in her dreams) of her idealized Demacia, where she's confident and powerful and adored for her magic instead of shunned.

...only for a creeping shadow to infiltrate her perfect world.

This is also where we get the only 'canon' interactions with Ezreal in the main timeline, maybe, and she's still shooting that poor boy down in flames 💔❤️‍🔥🔥even in her dreams. Ouch.

I'll talk about Lux AUs / skinlines in a different post if you wanna, because that's a whole other kettle of fish, but for Canon Lux, that's your main go to outside of her League/LoR voice lines.

I swear to God, Twitter being able to accumulate so many brain-dead, malicious, pseudo intellectual low lives all in one place at the same time is a phenomenon worthy of being studied under a microscope in a science lab. And no, that is not a compliment.

Thankfully people have already spoken out against this bullshit-- the fact that people needed to is already maddening to think about-- but as someone who got the basic gist of what happened literally yesterday I'll also put my voice out there: Don't you fucking dare try to paint Hbomb as a murderer over this situation.

Somerton may be a lying, misogynistic plagiarist and conman, but he obviously doesn't deserve to die and while I do make fun of the guy, I genuinely hope that he continues to have a life after the dust has settled on everything. Not on YouTube or any social media platform for a long time at least, but just a life nontheless. I don't wish what he's potentially going through on anyone, and I hope that he makes it through this. But regardless of if he does or doesn't-- and God forbid he doesn't-- none of this is Hbomb's fault. It's not his fault, or Kat's fault, or Jessie's fault (because apparently there's people blaming her too cuz WHY NOT), or anybody's fault. All they did was call out his actions, hold him accountable for the harm he's done. They have done nothing to deserve having to carry this on their shoulders should the worst happen. They did nothing wrong. They didn't kill James (he's not confirmed dead yet either btw). They are not murderers. And to the people saying they are: say those words out loud, listen how they sound like, and re-evaluate. Just cease.

And to people like this:

The difference between James, Internet Historian and Hbomb is that Hbomb never promoted problematic behaviour to his audience. If you promote problematic shit like harassment or misogyny or racism, then yeah, you're absolutely responsible for how your behaviour influences your audience. But that's not what he did. He made it very clear where he stood on those things, literally stating that ''if anyone were to harass Somerton on his behalf they are worse than him and will not see the light of heaven''. He's done his part in making it clear that harassment is wrong, so if someone went out of their way to go against that and harass James anyway that doesn't reflecf on him at all. Also, what the hell do you mean ''hatemobbed'' to suicide? I don't doubt there are people who went to extremes because those bad apples always exist, but most of the things I've seen are valid critisisms, memes and call outs about that guy. If holding people accountable for their actions and poking fun at them a little counts as 'hatemobbing'' (which has Filip calling his critics a ''lynch mob'' energy tbh) what the hell do you call actual hatemobbing then? Do we just let people continue being shitty because calling them out ''damages their mental health'' or ''drives them to suicide'' then? Is that a world you want to live in?

Criticing someone for their objectively bullshit content and wanting them dead are two seperate things. What the actual hell is wrong with you. The plagiarist in question is a person. Those ''harshest critics'' are still people. And because we're people, we care. I'd rather James pump out more plagiarised slop than commit suicide. I'd still hate him for it, but I'd prefer him being alive over the alternative any day. We all do. None of us would sleep easier knowing he's dead just because he wouldn't be ''committing the cardinal sin of putting out a 'pure content mill' video'' because someone taking their own life is horrific-- especially Hbomberguy, how dare you even try to imply that?

And this gets me to the reason I'm furiously typing all this out in the first place: Hbomb is the fucking victim here, so stop treating him like he isn't. He tried making things as right as possible by compensating those that were burned by James through a video where he revealed everything there needs to be known about the guy so that less people fall victim to his actions and lies. To just ignore the harm James was causing while he had the evidence to prove it and platform too big to threaten into non existence should he speak out would've been bad. So he didn't. He did the right thing by sticking with the people James had stolen from, giving them a voice and making them known after they've been scrubbed from the picture by decidedly being uncredited for their works or bullied into silence. He shouldn't have to deal with this for doing the right thing. He shouldn't be labelled a murderer for doing the right thing. He shouldn't have to have the death of a man on his conscience for doing the right thing. People claiming otherwise are obviously wrong, but I can't imagine what all this must feel like right now. Because even tho they're wrong, guilt isn't a rational thing, and I know that if I were in his position I'd still feel like a morally bankrupt individual were the worst to happen even if I knew that it was not my fault. This isn't a funny story. So to add to this dumpsterfire by using it as a prop to bash on a creator you don't like and immediately write Somerton off as dead even when he's not even been confirmed dead yet to do that shows how little these people actually care about the thing they're talking about. They don't care a guy potentially killed himself-- what they care about is using it to paint Hbomb in a bad light because they don't like him. Here they are, posting memes and ill jokes about this very delicate situation while barely a day since the news broke out had passed. It's opportunistic, it's sickening, and literally the exact thing he criticised in his video when talking about 'content mills'. Like, I know none of these clowns bothered to actually watch it, but have some self-awareness. And some shame too, while you're at it.

This long story short: I'm writing this to contribute to the narrative not getting twisted to make Hbomb out to be the villian. Same goes for everyone else. Don't let these people paint them as the villians. If I see another person pull this shit again I will literally bite you and shred you into salad and spit you back out because I hate you so much and I mean that wholeheartedly.

You probably told him that you're dating someone in a different sector, but he didn't know who. He's very subtly asking questions and being in protective brother mode. And then he runs into her.

He doesn't quite know how to feel when he sees you and Aerith interact. She just has a lot going on with her that he feels hesitant with the idea of you potentially being in danger because of it. But he can't help but trust her for reasons he doesn't quite understand.

His social battery drains considerably if he's around you and Aerith. She's just unbelievably bubbly especially with you. But when he's around, she wants to constantly bond with her "future brother-in-law" and he just wants to go home.

Tifa

Boy is it interesting watching you interact with Tifa. You, him, and Tifa all grew up together and so watching as you two seem a lot closer than he remembered is interesting. And then you bring up the fact that you're dating.

That does take him by surprise since he's been gone for such a long time. But he's not against it. He's okay with it so long as you're both happy. And you both definitely seem happy.

Can't help but sigh and groan when you two do flirt with each other. He's just trying to get his money from Tifa and you and her are being gross. He'd be the "really? right in front of my salad?" meme

anyways theve been on my mind for awhile and gonna share some silly cute headcanons about their dynamic (mostly modern au)

netflix account meme: cass (the one who pays for it) talon + kat (sibling pass) and briar (parasite)

in a modern/musicverse au, can definitely see kat and cass trying to make talon have fun while briar joins them; they take the most expensive car out to town, likely to go out shopping or grab food to eat (usually why briar joins in on 'operation: make talon have fun')

obviously briar doesnt drive, but the driving dynamic varies between them

kat LOVES to drive extremely fast and doesnt hesitate to speed up if theres another fast driver; in all of these scenarios, briar refuses to wear a seatbelt

cassiopeia texts while driving; talon gets to sit in the front too, while kat and briar are in the back and ready to causes havoc to other drivers

talon is the most normal driver actually; kat choosing the music because eldest sister here

kat and cass always want talon to try on nice clothes (he usually says no because he knows they will do that at home)

val: obviously vibes so well with chaotic impulsive MC. partners in crime, taught Io everything they know. however, Val is also constantly worried about this type of Io and has a pervasive guilt about teaching them to live so dangerously. // finds a sweet, naive Io very adorable, almost in an admiring way. Io's clearly had something bad happen to them and could have easily become reclusive and bitter. val definitely pushes this type of Io to be more adventurous and a little stupid sometimes

ira: slightly overwhelmed by gremlin Io but in an exciting way, like riding a rollercoaster. worries about them and is determined to drill a little sense into them. but also.... Ira may or may not be twirling their hair watching this disaster unfold // a gentler Io is a refreshing change of pace. it's nice to have someone around who's as calm and peaceful as Ira is. though if this Io is also fairly naive, I can see Ira gently taking them by the face and begging them to have some sense. u can be cute and smart, too

connie: I think we know what Connie thinks of gremlin Io lmfao... that's just Val 2.0 and Connie either wants them exiled or in their bed (and is pissed about it). They're endlessly frustrating and Connie wishes they would just calm tf down // in a similar/opposite way, thinks a sweet and naive Io is an absolute enigma. why the hell do they tolerate Val. how did they get here. what the fuck is their deal and what are they hiding; there's no way they're real

klaus: u know that Marina meme where she's like 😳😏 chaos gremlin Io is entertaining AND edible. wind it up and watch it go. on a less destructive level, klaus also appreciates someone who can be careless and free, even if it's in an arguably stupid way // klaus would see a little lost lamb Io as a bit of a blank canvas. He doesn't encounter a lot of people in his day-to-day life who don't have some kind of agenda, so it's like an interesting experiment to have this Io around. temptingly corruptible, though he'd lean more towards wanting to keep them that way

kat: does not understand Chaotic Beyblade Io even a little bit, but fuck are they fun. she can get down with the intensity and impulsiveness, though their ability to simply not think anything through is fascinating and almost impressive. I can see her getting exasperated, though, if Io gets in the way of things she needs to do // thoroughly enjoys sweet innocent Io. She's already friends with Ira, so she's sort of just adding another to her little cherub collection. finds them enchanting, deliciously different, and honestly relaxing to be around.

While the Anchors are away on vacation and the firewall twins are still recovering from the battle against the CCC, the Syndicate decides to use these lowered defenses to check out one of the servers slated to be in the next batch of MRU universes. Namely, by having Crocker and Metal Timmy travel to the world of Mega Man Chaos and scope out Dr. Wily as a potential new recruit. He does so by having Metal magically insert ideas for a new set of Robot Masters and Fortress Guardians into the not-so-good doctor's mind.

Super Wily Guardian 34 A giant mech with its colors split down the middle, SMG4's colors on the left and SMG3's on the right. Along with the usual Wily Machine abilities and the fact that it has arms and legs, it also has the ability to summon energy constructs based on memes to fight and access to every single explosives-based Master Weapon in the series. It also has two self-aware AIs included to help Wily keep track of everything, and they spend most of the battle bickering like an old married couple. Once this is all over the Lights will probably be building them separate bodies.

i think that after kanade has the initial tsukasa jumpscare they start to get along well but like. kanade talks to think man because even though she goes to the same school as mizuki GUESS WHO NEVER FUCKING ATTENDS !!! and once she talks to tsukasa long enough she's introduced to rui and nene by being invited to ★★★ SUPER COOL EAT-LUNCH-ON-THE-ROOF TIME [kool kats only ★★] ★★★ and kanade sits down like "okay. these people seem calm. theyre probably normal. i think. i can do this :]" and then emu. climbs onto the roof. and kanade thinks "OHFUCKOHSHIT NEVERMIND NEVERMINDNEVERMIND"

so they eat lunch and kanade is introduced to tsukasa's not boyfriend, tsukasa's not girlfriend and tsukasa's not girlfriend. and they have a good time !!! kanade gets along well with nene, but also doesn't because i think the two of them are the equivalent of the "shy people vs introverts" meme. rui is fun but kanade cannot understand that man for the life of herself. and. emu. so ironically tsukasa is the one she gets along with most.

so they hang out and also i think that kanade has tsukasa look over her compositions and has probably gotten him to play an actual piano bit for one of nightcord's songs. idk which you just gotta trust me. and one day kanade comes to their daily meet up thing which happens in the park because silly and tsukasa isn't doing his usual thing. bc when she usually comes tsukasa is happy and smiling like :D :D :D and helping out little kids on the playground equipment but this time nobody's here and he's just. off. and kanade can feel The Vibes but she goes over anyways. and she sees him and he sees her and suddenly he's happy again but this time it's all wrong. and she leaves and goes back home and she thinks back and realizes how Wrong all their interactions had felt. but at the same time it didn't. and she's trying to make sense of all this and talks to nightcord about it because who else would she talk to ??? and general consensus is "make discord server with him" so that's what she does. yes this results in silly tsukasa uses discord for the first time shenanigans. and they all start talking !!! ofc she introduces mizuki as mizuki but mafuyu and ena are left as "my online friends enanan and yuki"

tsukasa ends up inviting rui nene and emu because WHO ELSE ??? and rui dms kanade like "okay i know why you did this but we. are getting nothing out of this. also is yuki mafuyu from the all girls school that emu goes to ???" also SIDE PLOT with emu not feeling creeped out around yuki like she is mafuyu. just wanted to mention. anyways rui is like "i know who you are" and kanade is like "help me help you help your bf (boy best friend)" and idk how but eventually tsukasa just. breaks down.

it's not even anything special he's just in a discord vc w everyone and they start talking about fun things they did as children and tsukasa realizes he can't even remember talking to his parents unless it was over the phone and he just. goes quiet !!! and that's not normal because tsukasa is never quiet so everyone is just a teeny weeny bit worried. and then they hear this man. CRYING ???

MHA-Monsters: what are the general backstories for the kids? By which I mean, which of these kids has, like, family history as a monster, & which are like Kats & Izuku, who got pulled in a bit . . . abruptly. At what point does Kats tell her parents, "Hey, so btw, I'm a werewolf now"? Also, is Kurogiri/Oboro around, or did he still get yoinked? (I'm imaging him as some kind of wind/cloud nymph?)

Out of the kids, Izuku and Katsuki are the only ones new to being Magical/Monsters.

/Technically/ Izuku has been Fae the whole time, but he grew up with Inko thinking he was Human and not really knowing Magic exists(he still believed Magic was out there, but never had proof until recently).

But yeah the rest of the kids knew what they were and their families are various kind of the same. (I mean I still have some like Kiri and Tetsutetsu being adopted and Shinso's whole hot mess that are brought over from CC, but they knew what species they were and grew up around more Monsters ad Magic instead of pure Humans).

Katsuki telling her parents is a TRIP because like. She doesn't tell them at first because she's still processing and accepting what happened to her and coming to terms with 'magic is real and you're no longer Human, even when you look it'.

And then by the time she does get to a point of acceptance she's dragged into The Plot™.

And I have this idea of like. Going back to Human stuff for a family event and bringing in that 'Kats and Mina are cousins' plot. And yeah just Spider-Man meme at the family reunion. And ofc 'one of the cousins married a monster' is some kinda drama at the reunion so like. Technically, Masaru knew about monsters already because of this he just.... never brought it up(because it's not a big enough thing to give Mitsuki or Katsuki the 'oh btw Magic is real' existential crisis).

But yeah that's a whole bunch of drama and she ends up telling them then. Which. Masaru is def kicking himself for the whole. He knew about monsters but didn't connect 'ah yes kid attacked by some weird dog in the woods on a full moon /might/ be a bad thing!'. Mitsuki is having time to process but that is her baby no way in hell does this change jack shit.

Swinging over to Oboro! He does exist and I think he's still gonna get yoinked/become Kurogiri, but I haven't planned the /exact/ nature other than the possibility of AfO essentially forcing people into unfair Deals that gives him control over them.

There's something extremely… gratifying – Ian would swoon at the word, the fucking nerd – about living with your boyfriend.

The rest of them - and I kid you not - are extremely short and more or less deliberately misleading. And it's not that I take issue with how I open stories per se, it's just that, in vacuum, they're not that interesting. The one I picked, though, has that little appositive sentence and the endearment in the form of a profanity + insult and I think it's just neat.
