anyways theve been on my mind for awhile and gonna share some silly cute headcanons about their dynamic (mostly modern au)

netflix account meme: cass (the one who pays for it) talon + kat (sibling pass) and briar (parasite)

in a modern/musicverse au, can definitely see kat and cass trying to make talon have fun while briar joins them; they take the most expensive car out to town, likely to go out shopping or grab food to eat (usually why briar joins in on 'operation: make talon have fun')

obviously briar doesnt drive, but the driving dynamic varies between them

kat LOVES to drive extremely fast and doesnt hesitate to speed up if theres another fast driver; in all of these scenarios, briar refuses to wear a seatbelt

cassiopeia texts while driving; talon gets to sit in the front too, while kat and briar are in the back and ready to causes havoc to other drivers

talon is the most normal driver actually; kat choosing the music because eldest sister here

kat and cass always want talon to try on nice clothes (he usually says no because he knows they will do that at home)

there have been many gucci or prada stores that have banned briar from entering probably

what did briar do to get banned from there?? well whatever happened, it was funny as fuck for all of them

can see kat, cass, and briar bonding over one thing and it's probably fucking up whatever guy treats talon wrong

honestly if anybody crosses any of them in general, then it's a fun excuse for all of them to be a bit violent (briar has full permission to bite at this point)

kat, cass, and talon are probably used to like 5☆ restaurants, but briar want borger

at the mansion, can see them having a weird sleepover; cassiopeia wants to dress them all up, does a bit of nail painting

theyre all just chilling really, and they always have a horror movie in the background

talon and kat constantly point out the inaccuracies of the films

dont really have anymore headcanons, feel free to add more because this dynamic is really neat

What are some headcanons you have about Katarina and Talons (both just for th characters themselves and what they are like as siblings?)

AHH okay lemme break down my answers,, assuming this is all canonverse then...

TALON AND KAT:

i think katarina flat out hated him at first. bc he was sent to kill her and now marcus flaunts him like he's his new and improved 'better child', since katarina's failed him, even though tal fucked up by not being able to kill her too. she hates him and she hates marcus and she sees EXACTLY what he's trying to pull but she still hates him, and that's something else to hate in itself. and i think the first stretch of siblinghood is spent in very tense animosity, where kat is just dying to kill him. she wants him to fuck up again, she wants to see him go through the same pain that she went through. talon is like a traumatized baby bird. he's got no idea about any of this family shit. she wants to see him fail. she wants him to realize that family is just a whole lotta bullshit and totally not what he might have dreamt of.

this is ofc, her point of view. i think talon doesn't have any real pre-concieved notion of family and she's kinda like, projecting her idea of what it must be like to be him--onto him. in reality talon feels so out of place and he is really trying to keep the general happy bc that's his master, not his father. he doesn't even know what a father IS really. like what a concept. so he has not been dreaming of a family. he HAS been dreaming of a bed and safety and enough food every day so that's really what he cares about.

i THINK however, katarina is not immune to him being young. and as talon starts to get a taste of du couteau treatment she starts to warm up to him a lil bit, in the way that she's not trying to actively murder him. she is disillusioned from her family by this point. i think she can't help but see he's inherently vulnerable. (this is a whole other post) and doesn't know a lot. when kat was young and went through father's 'training' she at least had cassiopeia, and talon doesn't have ANYONE. and I think she is not immune to him going through that and her having to act like she doesn't really care.

imo she starts to see talon as herself, like this is father's do-over, and she doesn't want father to have the satisfaction of having that impossible, flawless child. and if it's father's do-over, then it's HER do-over too. so i think she starts talking to him a lil bit, and things get a little better from there. I don't think they're ever like, full sibling siblings, but they're able to understand each other more, and help each other out sometimes.

i think kat is protective of him and is lowkey trying to pry him out of marcus' claws. i dont think talon is protective of her, but he can trust her enough to talk to her about some things, and that's like, a BIG deal for talon. i dont think talon considers them siblings, just some nebulous connection he doesn't really know how to define. i think (PRETENDING KATARINA COMIC NEVER HAPPENED) if he was asked to kill her again he would go for it and then either find himself unable to or really question himself afterwards and not really understand it.

additionally i like the idea of kat with garen because garen gets along with his sister!! and kat might see that and want that with cass and talon too.

EXTRA HEADCANONS FOR KAT:

compulsively acts out for attention (this means violently too, or when she's fighting all flashy)

really loud without meaning to when she gets riled up.

no matter what she can't end up completely hating her father, and she doesn't understand why.

hates cilantro (she has The Gene)

HEADCANONS FOR TALON: (there are many many many)

antisocial personality disorder, aromantic, prolly some autism flavors.

can't share food due to food insecurity

ABSOLUTELY WILD ANIMAL CODED 🤯 deep down he thirsts for greater wilds.

despises the cold.

easily manipulated/exploited due to his inherent naivety. (can't read.)

hates being bad at things.

related: doesn't like killing as much as the security that comes from killing, and also the fact that he's already good at it.

desperately wants to be perfect because if he's perfect then he's Safe and can fucking Relax for once.

he doesn't love marcus. in fact at first he fears him, because marcus is the only person that's beaten him.

Vi didn't see the slap coming because Jinx was winding that one up since Season 1, Episode 3

I really thought Cait army vs. Jinx army was going to be a more fleshed out / dramatic arc but I'm not against the Metal Gear Powder episode we got instead.

My previous theory of it not being LeBlanc is essentially debunked in this batch - I was theorizing against it because of power scaling but looking at Mel's power, I thought she would have a force field but she's got some sort of phoenix force thing going on. (There's theories out now that MEL technically blew up the council in reflex to deflect the jinx rocket). I'll leave the Du Couteau theory on the shelf, but if were going all the way up to LeBlanc's office + reading all of Ambessa's lines, what on earth did Kino do to piss off DRACULA!?

To go further, because of in game descriptions people were speculating if the "Pantheon" in Ambessa's music video was just some Noxian stand in. But the Ambessa plot snippet + Mel's power maybe being hereditary makes me think actual Pantheon might be on the menu, as in, Mel is the child of the Matriarch and Aspect of War. Pin this for now, I'll browse the wiki again later.

Silco, Vander, Felicia flashback: new context dropped. Literal actual godfathers of Zaun. At this point how many generations back does sibling conflict go omg, Felicia's a descendent of Morgana or something.

Cait doing a 180 out of her heel turn felt a little rushed to me. We didn't see "commander" Caitlyn command anything?? It felt like she was in that ceremonial position Jayce offered her in season 1, it's like, "I'm a dictator /j" - Vi also didn't seem mad enough idk, off screen timeskip call her cupcake kiss and make up end scene bleh. They switch back sides with very little conflict idk.

"I won't fail, I swear it." Did Jayce enter the Viktorverse? Who else would he swear to if he's tasked with crossing that line?

Isha. Fortiche established 2 new cinnamon rolls in Act 1. The way they terrorize us with both of them in opposite ways omfg.

Overall, Act 2 felt like a lot of bullet points wanted to be covered. but still keeping Vi & Jinx as the through line. It's not perfectly paced, but I still think that they will stick the landing (especially after the end of this batch aaaaa).

Act 3 thoughts:

The Noxian invasion seems to be kicking off in Act 3, I wonder if there are any other tricks remaining up Ambessa's sleeve or if another Noxian character is who show's up with the air balloons / army. (Cast feels pretty full as it is but still)

It looks like Mel escapes and returns to Piltover maaaaybe in episode 7? The thing with Mel's story is again, I don't know what Piltover should do if LeBlanc actually rolls up. Everyone fire all their abilities I guess.

On that note, I really doubt any other characters are coming in as backup for Piltover. Maybe some from Zaun? (Urgot clutch LOL no). "Prototype Blitzcranks" might be used idk.

Heimerdinger might hard carry. Also, the in-game Arcane theme turrets looking like hex gates I think is intentional. Potential Piltover death laser incoming?

I'm hopping on the train of thought that Act 3 will have a scene of everyone dying and Ekko going "you're probably wondering how we got here" *rewinds the tape*

I think Viktor will be the final boss.

the du couteaus are old money and a famous family, with soreana being a socialite and marcus involved in the music industry. ever since she could walk katarina was shaped to become a star. she knows how to play multiple instruments and sings extraordinarily well. she has the stage presence and the charisma. she was, however, always a little too reckless and abrasive to be the perfect child her parents wanted her to be.

her relationship with marcus wasn't always terrible — not while she sought her father's favor, or at least she didn't see it as terrible back then, although he already demanded impossible standards and was scarcely the affectionate and caring type. it did, however, turn extremely sour as she grew up and start to defy the expectations he had on her. this eventually culminated in physical violence, which led to her trademark scar. no one knows the real story, and the du couteaus ensured no one would know anything that's tarnish their name like that.

she ran away from home after that, and was cut off from her family by her father. katarina had to survive on her own, and somehow she managed, though not without hardship. her talent, however, was unquestionable; and she found patronage under jericho swain — ironically one of her father's old friends. he gave her the chance to prove herself and she did, rising from the ashes with a new style and a new band called lethality.

she keeps in touch with talon and cass. she loves her siblings, even if her relationship with her parents is terrible. she will sometimes drag talon outside with her so he can see the light of the day. or accompany her to boring celebrity shenanigans. she also listens to his rants about assassin's creed and learned a lot about the franchise from her brother. she's not as close to cass as she is to him, but she loves her and cass is allowed to pick outfits and play dress up with her sometimes akdsjfdskfn

Since the last chapter essentially debunks the Marcus is LB theory, can i just complain about this STEALTHY ASSASSSIN MAN, whose teaching’s Talon follows religiously, BLASTING INTO A TEAHOUSE WITH SMOKEBOMS AND EXPLOSIONS TO PUNCH HIS DAUGHTER IN THE FACE????

WHAT PART OF THIS SUITS A STEALTHY ASSASSIN??? And what, he is suddenly AGAINST Swain? Because his words don’t match anything about Swain at all. Swain, let me remind you, is LOYAL to his friends and people who truly support him. The man has no motivation to mess with house Du Couteau other than getting rid of Soreana (whom, by the was is in Noxus because?? Reasons? And where’s Cassio by the way?????) Why is Marcus turning against Swain of all sudden? The man whom he chose to follow willingly AGAINST the wishes of his wife? Marcus is an asshole but he’s not DUMB? And Swain would NOT go against his loyal ally who helped him at his lowest??? So either Marcus is a dum dum who fell for some black rose trick, which assassinates (pun not intended) his entire character or Swain turned at him for no reason which assassinates his character instead.

Wait edit: i misunderstood the part about Soreana being in Noxus, rest of the point still stands. Where’s Cassiopeia. Is she presumed dead by the family? Does KAt know she’s a snake girl now? Shouldn’t it be mentioned AT LEAST ONCE???? Are we just gonna talk about Soreana and ignore the large elephant in the room? Apparently, because Cassio’s current status is not mentioned ONCE in the story. Completely forgotten because... Because she is, ok? Since Soreana is in Noxus, Cassio should also be, right? You got this sibling character for Katarina to bond with.... But you chose to retcon her relationship with Talon instead because.... reasons? I am NOT happy with the writing of this comic, it assassinates all of my Du Couteaus and i do not like it.
