Its a well known fact that i think about American Cowboy Ninja Kinji Takigawa once a day. What is not as well known is that i think about Yakumo(‘s lawnmower) about twice that amount.

I realize that the Kakurangers are the most qualified people to teach the Sakurais any form of Ninjutsu in the Toei Toku’verse (I believe Ninja White is the most capable)

But barring them, and the Hurricanegers… who among the Ninningers would be able to teach the Sakurais any form of Ninjutsu?

I’m pretty sure Fuuka is out of the question, and, while I think her brother, Takaharu, can be a good teacher, I’m fairly sure no one wants a teacher that keeps on shouting about burning up every time.

So who among the rest of the Ninningers are good teachers to teach Ninjutsu to the Sakurais?

Kasumi and Nagi, probably. Kasumi seems to have the most patience out of the Ninningers which I think is the best trait for teaching total noobs like the Sakurai sibs, and Nagi has a lot of technical/theoretical knowledge so he's probably the best at teaching that side of being a ninja

I would also like to nominate Yamaji Toha, aka Jiraiya (the Metal Hero) for the job. He's the master of the Togakure school who was chosen by the previous master over his other kids (Toha was adopted), so I think that says something about his skills.

hello! i'm being a bit of a useless sapphic here: do you have any tasteful pictures of kasumi from ninninger or medic from drive? i recall you saying you have some photobooks but i have no idea whose you have.

Oho, my dear, you've actually hit upon two of the ladies whose photobooks I very much do have in my collection! I'm not certain of your personal definition of "tasteful," so I've pulled a selection of pictures from each.

First up we have Yamaya Kasumi, who played Momochi Kasumi in Ninnin! Her photobook includes such moments as:

Now, Baba Fumika, who played Medic, is an actual gravure model and has several books out. The one I've got isn't strictly a gravure book, it's a sort of photo travelogue of a trip she took to Australia. It's very fun! It's a smaller format than the standard photobook size (which I think is roughly A4, this is more of an A5 or so), and contains photos with a range of vibes, such as:

shuriken sentai ninninger! it was kind of unpopular within the super sentai franchise but I love it bc it has one of my favorite characters, momochi kasumi, an engineering student-ninja-superheroine. it’s a goofy show about a group of siblings/cousins whose grandpa was a famous ninja and is making them compete with each other to become his successor

we need more sentai plotlines like in ninninger when yakumo convinced himself that kasumi was trying to decide between being a ninja or going to college and he got himself all worked up about it and then when he finally talked to her he looked like a real dumbass bc she was like “of course I’m going to keep doing both college and ninja stuff. I was trying to figure out if I should give up doing crazy science experiments or sleeping”

Ninningers were at the beach having fun, seemingly to make up for Kinji's ruined vacation in Hawaii until Nagi was lifted into the air.

The Ninningers were at the beach, presumably to make it up to Kinji after they interrupted his vacation in Hawaii for calling in Surfermaru. Despite their grandfather had given the otomonin to Kinji as some sort of consolation prize for refusing to teach him.

The Ninningers were having fun.

At first, they were reluctant, considering Kyuemon could attack with the Kibaoni army or even a yokai at her beck and call, but they soon lowered their guards and enjoyed themselves on the beach with friends and cousins.

That was when things started to get messy.

"Wha-" A shirtless Nagi found his arms lifted to his head with something invisible while his feet were stuck together before he was raised into the air. "What is happening?!"

"A yoka-aaaah!" Before Kasumi could even finish her theory, a hole appeared beneath her and swallowed her whole.

"Be carefu-" Yakumo tried to warn everyone but he was soon lifted up from where he stood unable to finish his sentence.

"Yakumo-kun? Yakumo-kun?" Fuuka looked around, trying to find her cousin, but she couldn't find him.

"Yakky!"

"I'll get you down there Nagi, just wai- whoah!" Takaharu managed to evade a sword strike coming to hit him.

The person who attacked Takaharu was clad in full shinobi gear, covered in blue from head to foot. The only thing visible was the person's eyes.

"Nii-chan!"

"Bocchan!"

Kinji and Fuuka were quick to rush by Takaharu's side intent on helping him fight off the unknown shinobi.

"Were you sent by Kyuemon?!" Kinji questioned

The shinobi did not answer the question but instead opted to rush at the ninjas who were in their bathing suits.

"Moku Moku Ja!"

A vine latched onto the unknown shinobi's sword, preventing them from moving further.

"Kasumi-chan!" Fuuka exclaimed in relief. "You were alright!"

"Bunshin no jutsu," Kasumi answered the unasked question. "Who are you and why are you attacking us?!" Kasumi demanded.

The shinobi simply ignored the question, dropped his sword and punched Takaharu's gut and grabbed him before jumping towards the suspended Nagi and grabbed him as well then escaped under the veil of smoke.

"Onii-chan!" Fuuka screamed.

"Nagi-kun!" Kasumi exclaimed.

"How are we going to find them?" Kinji asked.

"I was able to place a tracking device on Nagi's pants before I revealed myself to you," Kasumi showed off her phone and revealed that a tracking application was running. "I was still just testing this; I did not think I'd have to use it now." She sighed.

"Let's go change our clothes and give chase imme-"

"What's wrong, Fuuka-chan?" Kasumi asked, worried for the young girl who cut her sentence off.

Kinji and Kasumi looked in the direction where Fuuka was looking, only to be greeted by a note that said "Too bad".

"So they also stole our things." Kinji remarked.

"It can't be helped, let's search for the boys first." Kasumi sighed.

Kinji, Fuuka, and Kasumi were deep inside the forest.

Kinji took the lead, vigilant for what might attack the three of them. Not before long in their hike, they encountered a trap that was designed to imprison the three of them together in a wooden cell.

As soon as Kinji purposefully triggered the trap, he immediately slashed it to tiny pieces, only for it to come out gooey with sap, honey, and some red substance.

"It was also designed to attract small insects." Kasumi pointed out.

'Ew!" Fuuka couldn't help but be disgusted at the combination of sap, honey, and red substance that clung onto Kinji's sword.

To save herself from the sight of the disgusting residue that was on the Kinji's guitar-sword, she summoned her Ichibantou and Goton Nin Shuriken and summoned water pressure from the tip of her sword and fired it at Kinji, drenching her teammate.

Kinji was quick to save himself from further drenching as he immediately placed his sword in front of him and let Fuuka clean it.

Our swimsuit-clad Ninningers continued their hike disabling the traps they encountered along the way. Some had involved using fire, and earth jutsus. During certain circumstances, Kinji also used wind and lightning jutsus to disable the traps that either caught them or disabled them before they were triggered.

As they continued their hike deeper into the forest, they came upon a small clearing greeted by the unconscious forms of their swimsuit-clad teammates tied up to a tree.

The Ninningers' things were suspended in the air, below it was a lit bonfire ready to burn their things to cinders.

By Takaharu's feet, was a note.

Kasumi picked up the note and read the words on it.

"You are in an illusion of my own making, the only way you can get out is if you can do one of the following: kill each other or kill your respective captives."

"That's horrible!" Fuuka gasped. "I am not killing Kinji or Kasumi-chan!"

"I'm not killing any of my cousins." Kasumi declared.

The girls turned to their sole male companion, expecting his answer.

"I can't bear to be Yoshitaka-sama's student if I will take advantage of this opportunity." Kinji declared.

"Well then, you have our answers." Kasumi declared.

"And we choose…" Fuuka added.

"No!"

Kasumi, Fuuka, and Kinji all kicked the spaces between the tied-up shirtless Ninningers, escaping the illusion they were subjected to.

When the illusion broke, Takaharu, Yakumo, and Nagi were still tied up on trees but this time they were awake and gagged.

"Weak, still weak."

Yoshitaka Igasaki jumped down from a nearby tree, flawlessly cutting the ropes that tied the boys to the trees. The boys removed their gags themselves as they soothe the pain on their wrists from being tied up.

"You lot still don't have what it takes to be the Last Ninja."

"You did not have to tie us up too tight, gramps," Takaharu complained.

"You were not able to sense that you have been caught in an illusion. Being tied up was your consequence." Yoshitaka shook his head. "You all let your guard down as soon as you left the dojo."

"Being vigilant all the time is not easy." Yakumo admitted.

"Yosh! I'm on fire!" Takaharu declared. "Bring it on gramps! I'll be ready for you anytime!"

Yoshitaka merely shook his head before disappearing in a puff of smoke.

The Ninningers looked at each other, unsure of what to do.

"Yosh! Let's go back to the beach!" Takaharu exclaimed.

"Mou onii-chan!" Fuuka whined. "Grandpa just told us off for goofing off!"

"Who said anything about goofing off?" Takaharu grinned. "We can still go to the beach to have fun and train at the same time."

"I see," Yakumo nodded. "That sounds easy, Taka-nii."

"Without our shoes, we'll need to adjust to the ground," Kasumi agreed. "That is a fiery idea."

"I see! We can also train while we are on the water!" Nagi realized.

"Yosh! I'm on fire just thinking about it!" Takaharu exclaimed. "Let's go!"

"Mou! Onii-chan."

Another in my weekly sentai sketchin’. I’m currently about half way through Ninninger. It seems that a lot of people don’t like it? I dunno, I do. I think Kasumi might be my favorite of the bunch, but I generally enjoy all of them so far.
