The Naked Kiss (1964)

Day 2 - Forget-Me-Nots
Prompt: 2 - Flower Crowns Character: Frank Castle Pairings: Frank Castle x Reader Tags: @loves0phelia, @nowheredreamer, @beezusvreeland Warnings: Fluff, original child character, reference canon character death, grief Tuna-Tober Masterlist 2024
Forget-Me-Nots
There was something so adorable about your daughter Sophia making flower crowns. She was so serious about it. Asking for very specific flowers. Brows furrowed, the tip of her tongue sticking out as she painstakingly assembled each crown. No mistaking who her father was. Frank got the same look on his face when he did maintenance on his guns.
But your little one was enjoying herself. That proud, little smile when she finished one said it all. Along with the big, ear-to-ear one when she presented each crown to its intended recipient. So far, everyone had accepted theirs and donned them immediately.
Including Frank. He immediately knelt down so his daughter could place the crown on his head. It should have looked absurd. Big Marine with a delicate flower crown on his head with thin blue ribbons trailing down his back. But it didn’t. It looked sweet.
The ribbon matched the tiny flowers. You wondered if Frank recognized them. Forget-me-nots, symbolizing true love, memories, and remembrance. It was rather apt but it was unlikely Sophia knew just how apt. She probably just thought that flowers would look pretty on her daddy.
Which they did. The sky-blue color was a pleasing contrast against his dark hair.
You’d bet a similar logic governed the hibiscus gracing your crown. That she just thought the colorful flowers were pretty. And familiar since you grow them in the garden. But even though it was just coincidence, it’s meaning of being consumed by love was so true. You had never felt so much love as you did now, in your little home with your husband and your daughter.
There was no mystery behind Sophia’s choice of sweet-peas for her own crown. Frank had been calling her sweet-pea since the day she was born.
On the other hand, Sophia had made other apt choices for flowers. Irises for Karen (your friendship means so much to me), sunflowers for Foggy (constancy and devotion), and chrysanthums for Curtis (you are a wonderful friend). Just to name a few.
The love and devotion of lavender for Matt was rather apt but Sophia seemed to have picked it for its sleep-aid properties. Given that she solemnly told him that he needed more naps when she placed the crown on his head. It had taken all of your willpower not to laugh. You were not alone in that regard.
The pale purple flowers seemed to be working their magic. Your boss was practically dozing on your couch, his head pillowed against Karen’s shoulder. Which was rather amazing considering that was Sophia and her friends had set up shop just feet away in the kitchen. And they weren’t being quiet.
Speaking of Sophia, she was tugging at Frank’s hand, “Daddy, daddy, I need your help!”
“Sure, sweet-pea,” he said, allowing himself to be tugged toward the crown making. You followed the pair, curious. Sophia had been very adamant about making her crowns herself, that she was a big girl.
On the table in front of her chair, you could see the beginnings of another flower crown. This one also featured forget-me-nots.
“What do you need, sweet pea?”
“Lisa’s favorite flower!”
You felt your breathe catch. There wasn’t anyone at this party with that name. There was only one Lisa she could be talking about.
“Lisa’s favorite flower?” Frank repeated. His voice was surprisingly even. Provided that you didn’t know him. You, however, could hear the brittleness. Frank might sound calm but he wasn’t feeling calm. Out of the corner of your eyes, you saw Curtis drift closer.
“Yes, for her crown.”
Frank took a deep breath. “Baby, Lisa’s in Heaven. She can’t wear a flower crown.”
This time he couldn’t keep the pain out of his voice. You put your arm around your husband’s waist, silently offering your support. His body felt like stone under your hands. But he put his arm over your shoulder, pulling you close to him.
“I know,” Sophia said. She looked up at you both with those big brown eyes. Frank’s eyes. Her expression was unusually somber. “But she was my sister. She deserves a crown too.”
“Yeah,” Frank said, his voice thick with unshed tears. “You’re right, sweet-pea. Lisa deserves her crown.”
He looked over the collection of flowers. His hands shook a little when he gathered up the yellow roses, handing them over to Sophia. Who took them with a little smile for her father. Silently she became to weave the roses amongst the forget-me-nots. The same flowers she had gifted Frank.
You weren’t surprised when Frank excused himself, claiming that he had to use the bathroom. Nor that his eyes were red when he returned. But he smiled when Sophia showed him Lisa’s crown. “It’s beautiful, sweet-pea. Lisa would have loved it.”

Ocean getting better about being overly controlling and mean to the others, but still being herself.
-Goes from telling off Mischa for doing drugs because it's "wrong" or makes him a "loser" to scolding him constantly because she worries for his health
-Goes from trying to over do the birthday song on her own to making (forcing) the others learn harmonies so they can do it together
-Goes from just telling everyone to do better and study to organizing study groups so they can help each other out (they are mandatory though)
-Goes from trying to shield Ricky from "inappropriate topics" to sitting uncomfortably and enduring his vivid descriptions of his stories (Now it's not about her infantalizing him, rather that she just thinks sex and such is gross)
-Goes from making rude comments about Noel's sexuality because he's gay to doing it because she is also gay so ew why would you like men?
-Goes from treating Constance like a sidekick to treating her like a best friend who she actually really depends on (you can't tell me they're not codependant)
-Goes from being codependent on Constance to not because that really ain't good for either of them
-Goes from being controlling because she needs everything to be perfect to being controlling because she's anxious and overprotective of the others
-Goes from treating Jane/Penny like a freak to studying her like a weird bug because she's actually scientifically intriguing
-Goes from trying to stick out to blending her voice in choir
-Goes from doing choir because it's good for applications to because she and her friends bonded over singing and they sound awesome together
-Goes from telling the others to set up for class to setting up with them
-Goes from saying she wants to make the world a better place to just trying to be a better person and therefor making the world a better place
-Goes from selfish and bitchy to righteously bitchy (using her obnoxious nature to defend her friends. Think a terrible Karen but she's actually justified)
-Goes from a boss to a leader
I could go on and on. I love the idea of Ocean's character development. Even though it never canonically really finishes because she doesn't exist on this plane long enough.

Criminal Case Inkember 2024
Part 1 : Day 1 to 10
After Inktober 2024, let's get to Criminal Case Inkember, held by @inkembercriminalcase on Instagram ! This time, we have the choice between 2 characters for each Prompt, which I find amazing because this could develop your creativity even more ! You can even do it with both characters, or even others !
Here is the Prompt List :
RULES ! (I gave it to myself to add more "punch" and "difficulty", juts like I did with Inktober, but less rules because it is already centralized into one Fandom) :
No duplicates of characters ! If a character is drawn in a Prompt, I cannot draw this character ever again, even if it somehow fitting for the theme (considering the amount of characters in these games, it should not be difficult).
"15" Classic Drawings, just like Inktober.
15 Minimalist Drawings, just like Inktober as well.
Switching between Classic and Minimalist : For example, if Day 1 is Minimalist, Day 2 will be Classic, and so on.
Note : 2 days of this Inkember will unfortunately be scrapped because of the Eternals Posters Series. Therefore Day 6 and 20 will be scrapped ... Unfortunately... (Whic also means that 2 Classic Drawings will be scrapped, and the order was adapted to Eternals to somehow fit with it).

For the most part this is just based on names but I’m gonna put a short description for each of them under the cut, and yes, most of my characters have old people names, get used to it/lh
EDIT: there is one additional person I’m adding to this post, her name is Corvid, there’s more info about her in the reblogs if you want to know about her, and if you want to vote for her just let me know in the comments, tags, reblogs whatever
Quinn- basically it would just be a gothamite blog, Quinn’s backstory is usually just whatever’s convenient for me so I think it would depend on what ends up happening with her on what her backstory would end up being
Constance- basically she’s if Thomas and Martha had another kid besides Bruce (and kind of Thomas junior, he would probably be brought up), an account for her would either be her as like a teenager/20-something, or an older adult when she comes back to Gotham after leaving in her 20’s
Adeline- if Constantine and Zatanna had a kid, I’m gonna be honest I love her so much, I’ve never done anything like publicly with her but I love her, I usually have her being 17-19, she either lives alone or lives with Zatanna when Zatanna isn’t off world or on tour, her relationship with John is a lot more complicated because like hes kind of there, and I think deep down he wants to be there, but he also just doesn’t know what to do with a kid, also in some stuff for her I have her being close to the batfamily since Zatanna has canonically known Bruce since the two of them were like teenagers
Clarissa- half sister of Johnathan crane (scarecrow), she didn’t really get the supervillain thing, just the mental illness genes, in some variations of her she knows he’s scarecrow, some she doesn’t (it really depends on if he gives a shit about her or not if she knows/lh), I haven’t really decided if I would ever want to make her a vigilante or even a villian, I think it would depend on what direction the account goes in on what I do with her
Marceline- another one connected to Constantine, basically Marceline is a demon that just kind of ended up fucking clinging to him one day and Constantine got stuck with her/lh, she has both like a demon form and a human form, she’s trying to learn magic from John, usually she’s like 12-16, id probably put her in the middle and make her like 14, and yes I did get her name from Marceline the vampire queen
Laurel- similar-ish backstory to kon, she’s another of lex Luthor’s clones (yes she is a women, no she is no power girl/karen), she actually does live with lex though, she disagrees with a lot of his opinions and gets manipulated by him pretty often, often times he uses her to make his public image look better, but she’s still her own person, I think maybe at some point I would have her leaving to just further become her own person, fully separate from Clark and Lex
Reyna- spidersona, I really like spider-man but I’m not a huge fan of marvel overall (except for x-men and spider-man) so she’s still in the dc universe, she lives in New York but still shows up in Gotham and Blüdhaven occasionally, I do have a more fleshed out backstory for her but I think it would be something that comes out over time, not just an immediate lore drop
