I can't go through losing another ship. I just can't. All I do is lose and honestly? It hurts me like someone I personally knew and loved died. I don't know why it hurts me this deeply. But it's crazy. I cried more when Klaus Mikaelson died than when my grandfather who I loved deeply died. To be fair he was 96 he WANTED TO DIE and literally stopped eating on purpose so he would die because he was bored out of his mind and all his friends had died and felt like he had no purpose anymore. It's not like you can have long term goals at his age. So we all saw it coming and I knew he wanted it and was happy so It brought me comfort.

BUT KLAUS MIKAELSON'S DEATH? Totally unexpected, felt like a huge betrayal. And it just sent me into a deep spiral and I'm still mourning him. Cried for 3 days locked in my room. Every once in a while I still cry. It's been 6 years AND I HATE IT. Because it's so stupid. HE IS NOT REAL. Just ink on a script and fake everything. And yet it hurts. It hurts so much. Losing Klaroline was like losing a part of myself. Something I had loved for so long, something I had invested so much time in, been obsessed with for so long.

And then sometimes karamel makes me cry. They were the representation of true love for me. True soft good love. What everyone deserves. And I cry at their loss. And the injustice of Kara ending up alone and sad. The message that if you are a woman you have to choose to either be strong and independent or be in love. And it was made explicitly clear that Kara wanted to get married and have a family. SHE LONGED FOR IT. But they didn't let her. They punished her for it. The same writers who forced the character to want it. But all the other male superheroes? They were applauded for it.

Most other ships don't make me cry but anger me deeply. Like bellarke and barchie and Hyde and Jackie. REYLO.

And now? I'm terrified for Kastle. I can't lose them too. I thought I was safe. The show was cancelled and there was never a resolution but it ended in both literally confessing their love. Karen begging him to choose her and telling him there is nothing he could do to change her feelings for him. That she would risk it all and run away with him. Him confessing that he doesn't want to feel this. He is not ready to feel this. Who is he without his war? He doesn't know. But he knows he loves her. She means everything to him. I was fine with that ending. Even with him REJECTING HER. Because it was made obvious that he loved her. But his arc wasn't over. He needed more time. And the writers had respect for the ship. Understood it.

But now? I have no idea what they might do. They might pretend they were never anything to each other. They might kill her off. They might betray all of us and destroy the characters completely. Just like with bellarke just like with Hyde and Jackie. Ignore everything stablished and stab us fans in the back. Treat us like we are stupid and undeserving of respect.

I CANT GO THROUGH THAT PAIN AGAIN. I know what it's like and it destroys something in me EACH TIME. Again, it's like someone I loved very deeply died. I don't know why. But it hurts. And I just don't know if I have it in me. I'm so scared. Terrified. More than for my future or for anything.

Nora Gem - Stormbreaker and Divine Aberrant Paradox

Level: 130 Storm Wizard

Personality: Brave, bold, impulsive, quickly and fiercely loyal, has an eye for detail, easily distractable by said detail

Status: Mostly human, mostly stable. Journeying through her home Spiral trying to find her way to the Arcanum without her World Keys... and without being found.

Story: I've told Nora's story plenty times over on this blog, but I shall tell it again. Nora is my main Wizard, who successfully quested through Arc 3 and became the Divine Paradox, though with a heavy toll to her emotional and mental health. The weight of being everything to the Spiral yet nothing but a bunch of epithets crushed her, with Sybil's prophecy (mis-heard or mis-repeated as "You are Nothing to fear") as the latent last straw that broke her back. She lashed out against the Chaos Heart, effectively undoing one of her last canon moments and releasing destructive aberrant magic across the Spiral, and fled to another dimension (my old OC universe, which is able to connect to multiple other fandoms) with her baby sister to get away from everything.

While in this getaway period, Nora crossed paths with Blake Thorburn (RP'ed by my friend @bad-pun-king), originally of the Pact fandom. Word had spread of the 'strange fairy and her child' who had moved in, and Blake sought her out for a chance to cure his humanity of the Abyss, a horrific semi-conscious plane of existence that wants nothing more than to consume and digest the universe and everyone in it. Nora, in all her kindness, helped Blake become human again, and as a result became a major target for the Abyss. This will become relevant later.

Eventually, Nora pulled herself together and remembered that her last moments in the Spiral were basically a catastrophic temper tantrum on the divine and international level. So Nora sought to... y'know... fix that. However, because of her meltdown, she was widely considered a dangerous vagabond, a hero who had gone bad and whose good reputation was tarnished (perhaps beyond repair). So, Nora had to be incredibly fickle with her savior'ing, unable to be the public figure she had once been. She wasn't even sure if even her old allies at the Arcanum would take her back.

Nora eventually revealed herself to the Arcanum (which now included her cousins?) while trying to save Karamelle from both the consequences of her own actions AND the predatory presence of the Abyss, which had become aware of the Spiral once she returned to it. Despite her best efforts and the help of her estranged friends, one monster from the Abyss ate her alive during the tumultuous battle for Karamelle.

Rather than dying, however, Nora fell into the Abyss, where its magic took root in her. She desperately tried to crawl her way out of the Abyss, with the help of the real actual Nothing that Sybil had originally seen and a jaded but hopeful monster who wanted to escape the Abyss with her.

Now Nora has made her way back to the Spiral, though with some scars (such as her left arm from the elbow down and her wings being replaced with living debris, and a constant hunger rivalled only by the Abyss itself) and incredibly out of tough. How long has it been since she'd fallen? Is the Arcanum still around? Is her family? Why is there talk of a second Spiral? And who's this new young voice in her head asking about wizardhood?

Many questions, but only one way to find out: questing solo, like old times.

guys guys guys I finished Part I of my Historical AU!!! 🥳 It's a little over 15k words, combined with the scenes I've written for parts 2&3 is a total of 22k. My goal for the whole thing is 40k, so I think I'm well on the way to getting there.

Thank you all for your support and patience with me. I can't wait to share this story with you. In the meantime, here's the ao3 summary I'm leaning towards:

The year is 1780, and nobleman-turned-soldier Mon-El is unhappy and dissatisfied with his privileged but empty life in the south. That is, until he meets a girl at his parents’ ball who changes everything. They understand each other perfectly, and with his parents pressuring him to marry, there would be no better match than her—except that they come from wildly different backgrounds. With a heavy heart, Mon-El walks away and takes a wife his family approves of. Two years later, their paths cross again, him a different man and her as lovely and sharp as ever. Will he be able to give her up a second time?

And also an excerpt from each of the three romantic relationships. Karamel is the main one of course, but this is a Mon-El centric fic first so there are a few other relationships explored throughout.

Karamel:

As they spoke back and forth, Mon-El found himself admitting more and more, letting her into the parts of his mind that no one else had access to. It was hard to describe, but he had never felt so…understood. They both felt that pull, to make things better, to create change instead of just being content with the way things were. And at the same time, she made him feel like a better version of himself. Like the self that he wanted to be, someone who acted instead of standing by and wishing for a miracle to get him out of his miserable life.

Monwinn:

They scampered back to the tent hand-in-hand, already falling into each other before the flap was closed. Mon-El pulled him down to the floor and tugged at his clothing impatiently, Winn’s teeth scraping against his neck. For a precious few minutes, or perhaps closer to an hour, there were no wives or betrotheds or strict parents to speak of—just them, panting in the half-dark and drinking each other in one last time.

“But it isn’t obligation,” Mon-El said earnestly. On impulse he rose and joined her on the settee, hesitantly taking her hand in his. “Ms. Ardeen—Imra, if I may call you that—I know our relationship is not quite of a romantic nature, but I care for you deeply. Even if I had the choice of any woman in the state, I would still choose you as my bride. You are kind and clever and…” He exhaled. “I am proud to call you my very good friend. Nene knew this mission wasn't going to be easy. It never was when her squad was assigned. The downside to being the highest ranking squad besides the leaders, she supposed. Scope locked and looking around, she raised her wrist to activate her communicator. "In place. Maverick?"

"In position. Glint, Daybreak?" The calm voice said, continuing the check in. The long silence led to two annoyed sighs. "Daybreak, come on, I know you're there, I just heard you arguing with Glint over the comms."

"Yeah, yeah, we're ready. It'd be easier if you were paired with me instead of this brat."

"In position. Also, fuck you, Daybreak." The feline's voice was hardly not a hiss. Another sigh.

"Save it for the distraction. I'll say when." Looking back through her scope, the fox checked everything. The top floor, the front door, the sides of the building. "Clear. Begin phase 1." She watched through the scope as her friends and squad mates made their way over to the front door, arguing. If nothing else, this struggle to get along made for perfect ways to lower the guard of anyone they needed to go up against. Her cyber ears flicked. "Maverick. Scope me."

She glanced at their trackers. So far, none were off... But the unease was confirmed when a bullet flew past her face, perfectly far enough away not to hit her. Rolling over fast, she pulled her handgun out of her inventory, to meet-

"Is that anyway to say hi to an old friend, my dear?"

She felt the tracker turn off in her communicator. Out of all the members of the Syndicate, why was he always on her team's case?

". . . Rui."

"So you do remember my name! I have to say, that non-sniper friend of yours really is a good shot. I'll have to have Tsukasa get the bullet out this time~" Despite being clearly injured, he moved closer and pressed his forehead against her pistol. "Do it."

She tightened her look. Remembering a lot of good times before the two of them got into the mess before them. Enough hesitation to allow her a good stab to his shoulder and slip away from underneath him. Nene growled once away. "If you're so insistent on the ‘friends’ title, join the rebellion and stop bugging me." She retorted. Praying that Maverick got hold of Glint and told her to stay in the building.

"I'll admit, you and I have nearly friendship ending differences!" Rui winced a bit as he downed a health potion. "But that can't stop me from visiting you~ Especially when you make it so easy."

"To the surprise of everyone, the Syndicate gives days off! Or are you just being a naughty little puppy who ran from master?" God, it stung to say that. To both her and him, as evident by his face shifting from playful to just plain mad.

"You leave Tsukasa out of this. Your so called friends killed someone dear to him." He snarled. "Like how they fooled you."

"Lay off it. I wasn't fooled, unlike you. Also, I poisoned my dagger. You've become so obsessed with catching Glint, you've become a little predictable."

Angry. That's what Emu was. Cyber's tracker was off, which meant she was attacked. Maverick said stay in the building, meaning that fucking dog was nearby. And the people in the building were mostly holograms, the few who weren't tied up or knocked out. Two had died, not for a lack of trying to save them. Swinging her mallet around would cause too much noise. So she slinked back and forth, growling lowly. Daybreak huffed. "Calm down, at least we don't have to fight much."

"You really are a fucking idiot! This was a trap! Nomad was tricked, ONE HALF was tricked. If this goes anymore wrong we'll have to pray they're fucking insane enough to prefer torturing the information out of us than normal interrogation." Emu hissed loudly. Her ears perked and she raised her mallet.

"You offer that for my bosses and they might just be willing to do so~" A groan escaped the cat. Tsukasa Tenma, one of the top workers for the Syndicate. And never too far away from his mutt. "Now, if you come with politely, I might even be able to arrange a more comfortable cell for in between the torture!"

Daybreak growled, moving closer to Emu. She knew why, but it irked her more. "Nice joke. That something they train you in?" The Akita barked.

"Tut tut. I can be funny outside work, you know. And as for top agents, such as your team, it's simply a matter of time before a proper slip up befalls you. Though, I will admit... No file said anything about Miss Glint here being able to tell traps."

Emu hissed. "I'm full of surprises."

She folded her ears back more as Tsukasa smiled, gently. Almost teasingly. "Indeed you are. It must be why Rui's so interested in you. Speaking of, I'm sure you know he's around. If you cooperate, I will make sure he—"

Leave it to Maverick to multitask saving asses. She really needed to thank him for shutting him up.

"I see you two have someone who answers for you. Very well." She watched the blond pull two swords out. "I guess it's a worth a little extra exercise."

Akito moved even closer to Glint. He knew To— er... Maverick was probably busy covering Cyber, which left him to guarantee Glint wouldn't get hurt. He knew that, under normal circumstances, Glint could handle herself. But the ass in front of them, and the dire wolf somewhere nearby, always ruined her normal battle ready attitude. Mostly the mutt that followed Tsukasa, but Tsukasa as well. Seriously, could it really be any less lucky that it was them?

Moving in between their enemy and Glint was like a death sentence. If he didn't die, Glint sure would. And even if they survived the fight, Glint would kill him when they got close to base out of anger for treating her like a damsel in destress. So he stayed by her side, moving closer despite how much it clearly annoyed her. Maybe if he annoyed her enough, she’d be back to battle ready.

“I’m feeling gratuitous today. You may h–” Akito didn't wait. Neither did Glint. The two launched forward before Tsukasa finished talking and landed two solid hits on the enemy. Backing up, he launched his kusarigama at the blonde to make an opening for Glint. “GH—”

Glint pulled out her daggers, letting her mallet go into her inventory, landing two solid stabs into Tsukasa’s right arm before kicking him to remove the blades. Taking a moment to analyze, Akito saw the HP bar appear. 100/473. They took him down a lot. He grabbed Glint’s wrist, before tossing a smoke bomb down and running off with her to a higher level.

He heard her hiss. “We should take him down completely!! What are you doing!”

“Yeah, right. All that would do is make us bigger targets for the wolf! Do you want to be bait to take them both down?” Akito huffed, shoving the cat into a closet then joining her.

“Oof! No, but hiding??!” Glint growled. “We’re as good as sitting ducks here!”

The Akita rolled his eyes. “Nomad wanted me to test out these new smoke bombs anyway. Hopefully they work. Cause if they do, our tracks’ll be covered for an hour. Meaning we just have to be sneaky.” He explained. Moving to the small window, he looked around and saw a flash of blue. He pulled out his communicator. “Maverick, we got the ringleader down to 100 HP. Cover Cyber and get the wolf into the building. I’ll run evac on Glint and me.”

“Copy that.”

Toya sighed softly. He really hated the wolf and his partner. Hearing Akit– Ah, Daybreak, say what happened as he ran to Cyber, he checked what he could with his scope. Surprisingly, Tsukasa had not recovered health. But Rui did. Surmising Rui had all the health potions, he launched a few shots at Tsukasa, landing them. Another check, and Tsukasa was at 23 remaining health. Perfect timing, as he prepared an attack at Rui.

“Your partner made a mistake letting you have all the health potions.” He offered as a tease. The dire wolf turned around, eye narrow in rage.

“What.”

“He’s at 23 HP now that we’ve picked fights. Since he hasn't recovered yet, I’m confident he said take all the healing items.” Toya narrowed his own eyes. “It’s let him die or let us go. Your choice.”

Rui looked between Cyber and Toya, before snarling and running off to the building. Toya counted to 10 before contacting Daybreak again. “He’ll be there soon. Get moving to escape.”

“Open window spotted. Where are you two?” Cyber asked through Toya’s comm.

“A closet.” Glint muttered.

“I see the window. Should be 4 rooms north of you on the same side as the closet entrance.” Toya informed. Hearing shuffling, he watched Cyber take a deep breath and look through her own scope. ”You okay…?”

“I’m tired of him always finding us. We should have Snow Fall and Ribbon check our uniforms for trackers…” Cyber muttered. “Looks like Rui’s at Tsukasa’s side. Tell them to keep going north and we’ll meet them at Fasu Point.”

“Got it.“ He raised his communicator again, watching the two climb down the side of the building. “Rendezvous is Fasu Point. Keep going north for a while to meet us there.”

“Copy that.” Daybreak said.

He nodded to Cyber and the two moved off to the northeast to pass through the river. Helping Cyber through, he sighed. “I hope this throws our scent off…”

“Yeah…” Cyber was shaken up, clearly. More so than she had been with past encounters. It was concerning.

“Cyber… Are you alright? We can tell Nomad we can't take missions for a short while if you need a break.” He offered. He watched her smile a little.

“Good idea…”

Many miles later and they met up at Fasu Point with the rest of the squad. All of them were tired, shaken up and ready to stop. Toya took lead on getting to an entrance to the base, where Nomad and Ribbon were nervously waiting.

“We saw Glint, Daybreak and Cyber go off the trackers! What happened?!” Ribbon asked.

“The mutt and the tamer tricked us.” Daybreak said. “The whole thing was a sham.” Toya watched Glint’s ears fold back.

“It was almost like they wanted to capture Cyber Sniper. The dire wolf had all the healing items and was laser focused on her. He only left her alone because his partner needed healing.” Toya explained.

“It was a trap. Someone tipped them off.” Glint huffed.

Nomad held her hand up. “We have the mole already in custody. They fessed up after realizing how kindly we treated him. He’s been registered as a new Rebellion member and will be punished for this mission farce.” CGO Squad sighed. “In the meantime, Ribbon is going to check your uniforms for trackers and make you new ones if needed. Glint, she already put a new one for you in your room. Get some rest.” The members of Nightbella Squad left, leaving them alone.

hmmmm thinking about speaking/voice hcs for my wizards

amber is very soft spoken, with a higher, gentler voice than most expect. there is a lot of power and command in her tone, as well as clear weariness/haunting. you can tell she doesn’t mince her words. unfortunately, she retains little of her dragonspyrian accent, as she was only a baby when she became a fugitive from there. (every time i hear eth/el c/ain speak/sing… THATS her)

genevieve, being born and raised in marleybone, sounds much more posh than she’d like. her voice is very rich and deep, near always dripping with sarcasm or annoyance. she either speaks slow and drawn out, or so quickly that it becomes difficult to understand what shes saying. the longer she spends in mirage, the more blended her accent becomes.

primrose’s voice is as sickeningly sweet as she is. you can tell she was raised in karamelle and has family from polaris, but her voice is much less put on than most of their denizens. her tone is clear as a bell, and shes often gasping, squealing, or making some kind of noise. high pitched and almost melodious in nature. nothing harsh about it.

22KM auf dem Tacho. Nach unserem Marathon-Tag gestern verließen wir erst 11:00 Uhr das Haus. Wir waren beide im Tiefschlaf, Schlaf, den wir unbedingt brauchten. Zuerst ging es zum Pokémon Shop, wo verschiedenste Memorabilia der japanischen Serie verkauft wurde. Erkennt ihr ein paar Pokémons wieder? Daraufhin ging’s auf den Nishiki-Markt, wo wir Gyoza Knödel kosteten, verschiedene Fischstände beäugten und das Karasuma Viertel erkundeten. Da unsere U-Bahn Karten eine Malfunktion hatten, fuhren wir zum Hauptbahnhof, um das Problem zu beheben.

Nach erfolgreichem Beheben des Problems hieß das nächste Ziel das Gion Viertel. Nach Bewunderung des Yasaka-Schreins liefen wir über die Hanamikoji Straße Richtung Kennin-Ji Tempel. Der älteste Zen Tempel Kyotos, im Kennin-Ji standen wir voller Ehrfurcht und besichtigten die Ausstellungsräume samt Decke der Drachenzwillinge und Gärten. Im Anschluss ging’s nach Sannenzaka ins Starbucks Nineizaka, der einzige Starbucks weltweit mit traditionell japanischer Tatami-Sitzboden. Wir tranken Kaffee und einen Karamell-Milkshake, probierten Earl-Grey Donuts und unterhielten uns lebhaft mit einer kanadischen Familie aus Toronto.

Gegen 17:00 Uhr marschierten wir hoch zum Kiyomizu-dera Tempel auf dem westlichen Hang Kyotos und besuchten wunderschön bemalte Tempelgebäude, die im Wald verstreut waren. Wir machten beide einige Bilder und liefen schließlich zur U-Bahn Station, als letzte Station des Tages war nämlich das Shinto-Schrein „Fushimi Inari-Taisha“ angesagt. Berühmt für seine tausenden roten Tori-Tore, schlenderten wir vorerst in der Dämmerung durch die Tore. Webster wollte jedoch unbedingt nach oben und (was wir erst im Nachhinein rausfinden) hieß dies 300 Höhenmeter und durchnässte T-Shirts. Zumindest hatten wir nicht mehr 36^C und unversöhnlichen Sonnenschein. Zum Abendessen ging’s 21:00 Uhr in der Nähe des Hotels erneut in ein Ramen-Restaurant, wo es köstliches Ramen und frittiertes Hühnchen gab. Gerade schauen wir Formel 1 und ruhen unsere Beine aus, die heute verrückte 22km mitmachen mussten. Gute Nacht und einen guten Wochenstart!

Day 27. July 30, 2023

22 kilometers on the odometer. After our marathon day yesterday, we didn't leave the house until 11:00 a.m. We were both in a deep sleep, much-needed rest. First, we went to the Pokémon Shop, where various memorabilia of the Japanese series were sold. Can you recognize a few Pokémons? Then, we headed to the Nishiki Market, where we tasted Gyoza dumplings, checked out various fish stands, and explored the Karasuma District. As our subway cards malfunctioned, we went to the main station to fix the problem.

After successfully resolving the issue, our next destination was the Gion District. After admiring the Yasaka Shrine, we walked along Hanamikoji Street towards the Kennin-Ji Temple. The oldest Zen temple in Kyoto, we stood in awe at Kennin-Ji and visited the exhibition rooms with the Twin Dragon ceiling and gardens. Next, we went to Starbucks Nineizaka in Sannenzaka, the only Starbucks worldwide with traditional Japanese tatami seating. We had coffee and a caramel milkshake, tried Earl Grey Donuts, and had a lively conversation with a Canadian family from Toronto.

Around 5:00 p.m., we walked up to the Kiyomizu-dera Temple on the western slope of Kyoto and visited beautifully painted temple buildings scattered in the forest. We took some pictures and finally headed to the subway station, as the last stop of the day was the Shinto shrine "Fushimi Inari Taisha." Famous for its thousands of red torii gates, we strolled through the gates in the twilight. However, Webster insisted on going to the top, and (as we later found out) this meant climbing 300 meters in elevation and ending up with soaked t-shirts. At least, it wasn't 36°C and scorching sunshine anymore. For dinner, we went to a ramen restaurant near the hotel at 9:00 p.m., where we enjoyed delicious ramen and fried chicken. Right now, we are watching Formula 1 and resting our legs after the crazy 22km they endured today. Good night and have a great start to the week!

essie (32) — born in silver creek, a town near sweetwater and machias, but moved to boston when she was very young. a schoolmaster's daughter when she was young, with a bloody streak a mile wide. determined, confident, skilled with a knife.

mary-ellen (9) — takes her duties as oldest child seriously and makes sure jonathan doesn't get picked on by other children. already developing her culinary talents, though not so into butchery as her mother.
