Pard (horse): from Paard (Dutch) -> Perd (Afrikaans)

Ive just grown up calling giraffes camel-horses, so it's interesting to know that -- archaically -- they had the same name (synonymically) in english.

(i think that calling them Camelopards may have come from afrikaans, though, because they are not called "camel-horses" in dutch or german, just giraffes. Cool either way)
