to put it simply, chan is dumbfounded.

he's pretty sure he had mentioned to both han and changbin that you're coming here, to seoul, in a exactly week and chan needs to have all the urgent project revisions to be done prior to your arrival. he's absolutely sure the two promised they will only be gone for a little while to get some coffee to wake them up, and chan is now certain that the two are definitely not only heading out to grab those goddamn coffee.

"if you two aren't back here in 5, just know this is your one and only warning," chan muttered through gritted teeth, trying his best not to sound too pissed before sending the voicenote in their '3racha only' groupchat.

it's not that chan didn't understand—he knows he's been pushing both changbin and han more than he usually does, and chan is very much aware that the duo are bound to be a bit more rebellious than usual once they reach their point of exhaustion, but he really is looking forward to the time he's about to spend with you, and he's not about to let anything come and ruin that.

it's been a while since you've last spent a considerable amount of time together with chan. sure, there are stolen dates here and there whenever a holiday would match up and you could take some time off to visit chan's version of paradise (which is unironically everywhere within the bounds of japan) together, but those visits always ends as quickly as it starts and left the two of you with a longer list of regrets by the time you had to let your hands slip away from chan' warmth.

so this time, when you finally were able put your responsibilities on rest for two whole weeks, it didn't take much of a convincing for either you or chan to finalize the dates when you would finally be able to be within each other's reach. chan even went the extra mile to immediately book your flight coming in, though you had to basically threaten him with no video calls for a week if he went through with his other plans to spoil you rotten.

well, you could only hope that chan won't pull any uno reverse card on you once this plan came to an end.

a bell sound from his phone quickly distracts chan from the lines of lyrics he's trying to edit—an action he came to regret when the notification in view were merely a singular line of emojis sent by changbin, consisting of the same teasing faces and a pink ribbon both changbin and han been sending chan for days now on end.

"oh, he's done," chan groaned, head tilted back in annoyance as he threw his poor beanie back at the sofa where changbin was supposed to be seated right now. to be frank, chan didn't understand what changbin has been implying with the string of emojis at all. presumably changbin and han had seen the way chan saved your kakao talk profile—hence the pink ribbon, but why now? exactly when chan's the most sensitive of the topic? the fact that chan couldn't contact you drives him even crazier—you had told him you haven't been feeling well and you'd text him again once you feel better, but that was like, what, an eternity ago? chan didn't want the risk of waking you up either especially with your trip coming up, so…

he's basically helpless.

another set of annoyed groan became chan's initial response when his phone came alive with a new notification. reluctantly grabbing the device, chan was mentally prepared for a text bubble sent by the youngest of the three, containing of the same string of emojis changbin had just sent—only for his heart to jump out of his chest when he saw the pink ribbon next to your name.

before chan could type another reply, his attention were robbed by the knocks on his studio door—which is a little weird considering neither han or changbin would bother, and the fact that it's nearly midnight meant that almost no one that chan knows of should be looking for him around this time of night.

"manager hyung?" chan cautiously called out, instinctively grabbing his discarded beanie before he went to reach for the door. "did you leave something? or are you—"

the words on chan's tongue dissipates soon after the door swung open—but even with the way his eyes just doubled in size, chan still couldn't believe what he's currently seeing right in front of him now.

"hi, my channie," you finally spoke, a wide grin decorating your lightly flushed face from all the adrenaline you've been feeling; and only then, chan seems to wake up from his trance.

"wha—baby?" chan could hear how voice had skipped an octave higher, but he couldn't care less—did he fell asleep? is this a dream? chan had to pinch himself before he even pulled you in his arms, tightly wrapping the giggling mess that you are in his warmth. "you're actually here? wasn't your flight next week? did i got the dates wrong? how—"

"whoa whoa, calm down there, racer," you quickly stopped your boyfriend's wild train of questions, still with your smile plastered across the span of your face—your plan is a massive success.

suddenly, everything that's been happening to chan in the past week just clicked—the time he caught changbin and han meddling with his laptop, the nervous chuckles, the way they become way to secretive with their phones, the phone calls, and those lines of goddamn emojis. it all finally makes sense.

"is that so?" chan shook his head despite the clear view of his dimpled smile, arms tightening around your waist, "so you three little naughty being has been cooking up plans behind my back, that's what you're saying?"

the sound of your sweet laugh fills chan with an overwhelming sense of warmth— you might spend the majority of your year apart from each other, but for chan, it's moment like this that makes all the dark nights of longing seem worth to be worth his patience.

after all, you're everthing chan ever wanted in his life.

"my my," clicking his tongue in faux disappointment, chan gently fixed the strands of hair falling over your eyes—ones ever so tender whenever you fixed your gaze on him, "what am i gonna do with you, hm? you naughty little baby?"

Café Rüdigerhof, 1050

I was informed that some of you all are actually interested in this, so welcome to Roland Sachermorte's 2025 Kaffeehaus-Affäre.

This café established itself in 1902, and is clearly very proud of its provenance, to the point of not accepting card payments. Tax evasion, after all, is so turn of the century. The main dining area appears to have its original fittings, featuring an emblem with three interlinking rings, almost like the Olympics or someone's turn of the century polycule.

When I went, it was warm and quiet and full of refined character, which makes it far too pleasant a place for the likes of all of you. Wrought iron railings up to the elevated second dining room, a red velvet curtain, cream fringed lampshades, healthy and lively plants. An ORF news radio show played softly in the background, which certain members of parliament would insist is some form of leftist indoctrination.

I ordered a melange (4,50) and sampled two slices of cake (3,50 each). The melange was very mild with only the faintest hint of bitterness, with a sweet, milky aroma. Texturewise perhaps a bit watery, but this by no means detracted from the flavor. 4,50 would be an absolute joke three years ago but as of right now, in this economy, we really have to take what we can get.

I ordered for myself what was described to me as a Zwetschken-Sahne-Torte. I found the plum jam a very pleasant texture, not too sweet, without seeds. The cream was lightly flavored with vanilla and the tiniest hint of rum, which made me wish I was drinking. What else is new. The cake base featured poppy seed (which was insufficient for any sort of high but a man can dream) and the walnuts and white chocolate shavings on top made for a lovely contrast. Any excuse to put nuts in one's mouth, of course.

My dining companion, meanwhile, had kakao (4,20), which was reported to taste "not cheap", and pleasantly unsweet, and Maronitorte, which I was also permitted to sample. I found the cream on the Maronitorte a bit thicker and less texturally consistent than the Zwetschkentorte, and strongly tasted of chestnut. This is not to say I disliked it-- indeed, I found it very pleasant. But I would say that I myself made the superior selection.

Ultimately, Café Rüdigerhof was a beautiful beginning to my café offensive. My contemporary bitched about the lack of wifi, but I responded with "it's period-accurate", which seemed to settle the matter. Considering I live a stone's throw away from the place, I see absolutely no reason not to come again. That is, unless they find out that I pinched one of their dessert forks. Then they might not let me back.

Ultramarine's Ridibooks Guide

A (hopefully) simple guide to how to use Ridibooks!

What is Ridibooks? Ridibooks is a website where you can read all kinds of webtoons, novels, and books in Korean. It also has an app (for mobile and PC)! Ridibooks has the advange compared to other similar platforms such as Kakao and Naver of not being region-locked, so it might be your only option to read some manhwas in Korean.

Is the site safe? Yep! It's one of the major manhwa platforms, and I've used it many times.

How do I use it? Firstly, you have to make an account (top-right corner of your screen, 👤 icon). I recommend using Chrome or other browsers with a MTL function, so the page is easier for you to navigate.

Buying manhwas and novels. I'll use WMMAP as an example! Search 어느 날 공주가 되어버렸다 (WMMAP in Korean). You'll see you have 4 options. Buying the manhwa per chapter (200 won for rental, 500 won for purchase), buying the manhwa per volume (7,500 won each), buying the novel per volume (2,310 won for rental, 3,300 won for purchase), and buying the novel per chapter (100 won each).

Let's say we want to buy the manhwa per chapter.

Once you click on that option for purchase, you'll see that the site gives you two options, renting a chapter (200 won) or purchasing a chapter (500 won). Choose accordingly to what you want, but be aware that the site checks the rental option by default! So you have to go to the "keep it" tab if you want to buy it.

Also, consider that WMMAP's chapters can be unlocked for free (1 each day, available to read for 3 days), excluding the last 10 chapters.

Ridi Cash. As most manhwa platforms, Ridibooks has its own currency, Ridi Cash (much like Tapas' ink or Tappytoon's points), that you need to buy to then purchase manhwas or novels. It's worth almost the same as won, but with a 3% accumulation rate. Selecting the "Ridi Cash" option in your user profile will allow you to recharge the currency.

There, you can choose how much you want to charge. It's likely that the only payment method available to you is an overseas credit card (any should work), so you'll have to check that box (also remember to check the purchase confirmation!).

After that, you just write your credit card information, and you should be ready to buy your favorite manhwa or novel! They'll be available for you to read in your library (top-right corner of your screen, 📚 icon).

there’s important desicion that starship entertainment has to make in regards of investment/money. it could be because of kakao’s desicion to sell the subsidiary for ai purposes, especially when they have ive. currently starship can afford to not be subsidiary anymore, but they’re cautious whether it’s worth it or not. sm entertainment seems to be “collabing” with some people that will benefit the company in the furure. alternatively, the company might celebrate riize’s debut that happened recently and the surrounding buzz around the boys. the surrounding energy isn’t that memorable, it’s just the company doing their job. modhaus seems to be aware of something, possibly behind the scenes related and possibly related to artms and loona. they’re very dedicated to make everything work. (the devil rx, clarifying card: knight of pentacles)

cube have gotten over the worst - it looks like it’s related to pentagon’s contracts. despite if they have actually renewed fully/partially or not, they’ll continue like usual. there’s nothing worrying (10 of swords rx, king of pentacles)

there seemed to be an issue with source music in the past that recently have been resolved, possibly related to le sserafim’s comeback. the company seems to be in the early stages for it (3 of swords rx, page of wands)

rbw made compromise, possibly to dsp media. they tried to make them change their mind for something, possibly related again to gavy nj OR young posse such as dsp scrapping reviving gavy nj or young posse to debut with wm or rbw trainees and screw beats entertainment (5 of wands rx, clarifying card: 3 of cups)

wm entertainment is changing their plans for their upcoming girl group. (6 of cups rx, clarifying card: the magician)

yuehua’s korean division seems to be stagnant. therefore, their future seems to be uncertain for some reason. (10 of wands rx, the fool)

despite of jyp entertainment working hard, they’re in short of money. unfortunately, the company seems to save as much as possible because of possible losses. it happened with the time and they lost bigger amount of money than allowed. unless there are changes, the company will stay in similar situation. both 143 and woolim are in situations that find something unfulfilling and lose bigger amount of money than expected. (for woolim possibly one or all of their groups while for 143 possibly limelight) unfortunately, they have to give up trying to open new doors for something else. highup are in the verge of destroying something they’ve builded for quite a while. (might be unrelated to stayc but perhaps with connections they’ve done) (ace of pentacles rx)

ist entertainment should be careful of being scammed or of artists who want to leave the company as the creative freedom there is limited due to the merges. the company is focused on the money rather than their artists’ freedom and it will catch them sooner or later (king of cups rx)

kq has to be very careful as deception is on the horizon. from the ateez career reading check until 2025, it looks like someone from their company’s staff will do it instead of the boys. whatever they are doing will come to an end and it’s time for needed, for big, for important changes. this is definitely behind the scenes related. jyp entertaiment can do quite well, however in my opinion their energy is instable because of some reasons: 1) the empress can be very individual card (in my opinion) as well as very beneficial in their industry, so the possibilities here in my opinion for the empress are two - many individual gigs from their idols or the creativity from their idols will rise more than ever. however 2) 2 of cups can indicate many collaborations OR the company becoming a subsidiary of another such as hybe or kakao (although rbw is possible too, it's more unlikely. hybe's chairman and jype's chairman WERE classmates and si hyuk was working with jype in the past while kakao is one of the richest companies of all in south korea. i personally think if the subsidiary thing happens, it will be with hybe for friendship reasons) 3) the bottom card is ace of pentacles, so many money is involved by that time and assuming how the groups are currently doing: twice as a group seems to weaken, 2pm is doing their things, boystory is promoting in china and idqk how is their relevance there, itzy's popularity isn't like before, day6 are also doing their things + they have members in the military, right?, niziu(ik they're japanese group but imo it aligns internationally; i see their sales in japan are around 200k almost every time so yeah idk if that's good or not), xdinary heroes and nmixx aren't that relevant in south korea and even internationally to some extent (compared to twice and skz, ik xdinary heroes and nmixx have fans but it's simply not enough imo) so stray kids and individual members of the other groups such as nayeon and some others are doing the best but it's not enough for now it looks like both options are possible; i personally think jype can become a subsidiary, possibly of hybe, and only then the creative freedom for the company will rise (the empress, 2 of cups + clarifying card: ace of pentacles)

woolim entertaiment's energy is instable. i can see something that happens in their favor but something else had to be sacrifised such as much more money, someone else as trainee or something that's different. they might have viral moment that will come but at cost that they will don't know what to do. similar as ist entertaiment, woolim will receive something that will be unexcepted and they won't know what to do to keep the increasing relevance. personally i am not sure what will happen to ctdenm but if they happen to merge with modhaus (because of loona) or taking different route, they will try to fight over something that currently makes them working more chaotic than usual. their future is blocked/delayed from me to see. Since I'm reworking my OCs, I've been looking at some of my older art and... you know what, I'm gonna share some, even though nobody but me cares about them 😆

But these are some that I still really like, even though I can see how much I've progressed since I've drawn these.

These were some of my first experiments with watercolour, and I fell in love with using them.

Some trading cards (ACEO? I think that was the english name? In German, they were called KAKAO cards)

Some two-faced Mali. Still thinking of how I'll do that in the "remake". But I still really like these drawings. Might redo them in the future though.
