I loved your tags in a recent blog! Do you have any more SonoKai headcanons? Their interactions when Kaito was Kid were great, I think she would get along great with Kuroba Kaito too though.
Oh no. Those tags were already on that blog, I shared them because I thought they were cool. They're from this one, right?
Anyway, I have some ideas SonoKai but I don't know if you want to hear them anyway.
I also think they would get along as Kaito and Sonoko, Sonoko might be a bit wary of him at first because of his resemblance to Shinichi, but after a few minutes of talking to him, I think they would get along pretty well. She's interested in magic, and Kaito loves to talk and teach about it!
He's a good teacher when it comes to magic, it could even be that Sonoko makes him her instructor, I like to think she decided to learn magic because KID inspired her, but she ended up liking it and now she just wants to learn some tricks so she can show off at parties because she thinks it's cool.

Please note that the English lines are just my translations.
Maomao “Maomaono mame-chishiki. Kaisono naka-niwa, namade taberuto shoku-chudoku’o hiki-okosu-monoga ikutsuka aru. Yuderu-dakede mudokuka dekiru shuruimo aruga, konkaino-yoni sekkai-suini tsuke-naito dokuseiga naku-naranai-monomo… Shokuzai-gotono shita-shori’o haaku-shite-oku-noga bunan daro."
Maomao “Maomao’s bits of knowledge. There are some kinds of seaweed that can cause food poisoning if eaten raw. Some types can be detoxified by simply boiling them, but some types, like this one, need to be soaked in limewater to lose their toxicity… It would be safe to understand how to prepare each type of food.
Maomao “Han’ninwa mitsukattaga… fukakaida. Ju-nen-maeno jikento kokuji shite-iru-nomo kini naruna… Saigen-shiyoto shita-noka?”
Maomao “The culprit has been found, but… it’s a mystery. I’m also concerned that it closely resembles the case from ten years ago… Were they trying to reenact it?”
Jinshi “Nn…Fun!”
Maomao “Aa, okaeri-nasai-mase, Jinshi-sama.”
Maomao “Oh, welcome back, Master Jinshi.”
Jinshi “N, aa… Ima modotta.”
Jinshi “Hmm, ah… I’m back now.”
Maomao “Yakunin’no ototowa sakino jikenno han’nin-dewa nasaso-dashi… to-naruto, sakabade yokoni suwatta kyakuga kankei-shite-iru-noka? …Iya, okusokude mono’o ittewa ikenai…”
Maomao “The official’s brother doesn’t seem to be the culprit of the previous incident… so does that mean the customer sitting next to him at the tavern has something to do with it? …No, you shouldn’t speak based on conjecture.”
Jinshi “Nn…Fun!”
Maomao “Okaeri-nasai-mase. …Somo-somo, doshite yakunin’no kobutsu’o shitte-itanda…”
Maomao “Welcome back. …In the first place, how did you know what the official’s favorite food was…”
Jinshi “…Ano kao’o mo-ichido miru-niwa, do-sureba…?”
Jinshi “What can I do to see that face again?”
Maomao “Jikai, ‘Namari.’ Chokin-zaikushino yuigon-towa? Mata fuonna kotoga okori-soda…”
Maomao “Next episode, ‘The Lead.’ What’s the will of the metalworker? Something ominous is likely to happen again…”

During a temporary truce.
Heiji: As much as I dislike working with a criminal.. We might just need KID's skills for this one.
Kaito, bowing: Happy to be of service.
Shinichi: We all know the routes and hiding spots, correct? Then, let us split up in groups and search the area.
Shinichi: Heiji, you go with Kazuha and Hakuba.

How do you feel about Kyougoku Makoto x Suzuki Sonoko? It was cute how he fell in love when he witnessed her enthusiastically cheering on Ran but his comments about her clothes when she's harassed and his aggressive jealousy about any man other than him is just two of the worse tropes in romance fiction. I like how this is fully his fault for being too traditional and Sonoko never changes her behaviour, he is the Prince of Kicks with a crazy win-streak whose relatively defenceless girlfriend is a frequent target of the worst kind of male attention it makes sense why he'd overgeneralise and treat it like a fight. Her devotion to being a good girlfriend for him and insisting he couldn't be the culprit of a crime becomes he was such a good person make me love Sonoko more, such a romantic deserves to have her fantasies come to life. Her parents initially being against her marrying Makoto (they want her to marry well into a good family and he's a martial artist with a holiday job) but deciding because he is determined, fun to tease and they are clearly in love they approve.
SonoMakoKai is good too. Sonoko's crush on Kid is infamous but I think she'd admire Kaito's magic (maybe she's a fan of his father) and be happy to meet a fellow Kid fan, he the Kid Task Force's magic consultant they should have met by now! On Kid's end he was happy to have her as his assistant and likes how in love she and Makoto are, I've seen the fandom joking about bisexual Kaito and Sonoko talking about how attractive Makoto-san is. Makoto is jealous of Sonoko'ss feelings Kid but Kid could hold his own against him and did in fact win (via getting the jewel) which he isn't familiar with, I could see Kid being his exception he's at least attracted to him as Sonoko I think he could understand her perspective on him more after facing him (by developing his own crush/respect for the thief).
I think the ship is okay, they're cute, but… I always forget Makoto exists! I love Sonoko, she's my second favorite girl! (The first is Akako). But I find Makoto so forgettable… honestly, I don't dislike him but definitely, if no one mentions Makoto to me I forget he ever existed.
Tumblr media
I really, really like the KID x Sonoko thing, I think they look pretty good together, and Kaito deserves someone like Sonoko who will defend him tooth and nail, just like Sonoko deserves someone who will show her great affection.
SonoMakoKai I hadn't thought about that (I feel so sorry for Makoto, I don't know why he's so forgettable to me). But it sounds great, I like the idea that after that confrontation Makoto now has an interest in him.
I like the bisexual Kaito headcanon! Someone mentioned it once, but yes, Kaito is the protagonist of a reverse shojo harem (MK is proof of that, it´s a joke).

Maomao “It’s said to be a medicine for eternal youth and longevity, and a medicine that nourishes life. It not only suppresses high fevers and inflammation, but also enhances heart functions and prevents amnesia. In addition to that, it’s said to ward off evil spirits of the dead…
Jinshi “O…Oo, ooo. Mo, Mo jubunda!”
Jinshi “Oh… Oh, oh. That’s enough!”
Maomao “Sodesuka.”
Maomao “Is that so?”
Jinshi “Omaeno gooni taisuru jonetsuwa wakatta.”
Jinshi “I understood your passion for the ox bezoar.”
