Here is the more in-depth look at my Kn8/Persona 5 crossover! This goes into the group dynamics, how it would affect both canon series' respective events and obviously shenanigans! Now let's get started.

Kafka and Soshiro mainly stay with Ren throughout the events of Persona 5. I mean both technically raised the kid for like 15 years via shared dreams. Plus the young man can really use more people to directly talk to that aren't always busy.

They do check in on the rest of the Phantom Thieves from time to time. Like seriously, the group really needs more caring adults to talk about their problems. (Sojiro and the Persona shouldn't shoulder all the work.)

Kafka is the only one who feels like they(him/Soshiro) are REALLY over their heads here. I mean they are going into people's cognition that happens to have insane monsters roaming around to change their heart. Especially when any wrong move could shut down the target's mind.

Yet there's no other way they can tackle the situation. Plus Kafka has a feeling it can lead to the truth about their strange connection with Ren. Something he knows that Soshiro would agree on.

You can bet the Persona 5 villains are lucky both men are stuck in a phantom like form. The real Kamoshida would already been beaten to a pulp instead of his Shadow. Luckily this cognitive state has its advantages.

The biggest one being information gathering or even scout the Metaverse since neither are tied down to a schedule like the other thieves. Something which truly came in handy for situations like with Shiho(even if Ren got heavily chastised for leaving class despite saving his classmate's life.) Kafka and Soshiro are often referred to as 'Phantom Informants' from this.

Both men do have a respective codename while in the Metaverse. Kafka being dubbed 'Oni' for his demonic visage and equally monstrous strength. Soshiro took the title 'Masamune' which fits both his swordsmanship but also the dragon mask he wears to conceal his face.

Neither can use spells so they rely on items or unique abilities to fight Shadows. By using his shifting abilities, Kafka morphs his biology to wield Fire/ Ice/Wind/Lightning/Gun type attacks. Soshiro can equip different charms to his swords to add Curse/Bless/Nuclear/Psychic/Almighty element to his attacks.

The two men share an Arcana together: the Titan. A mysterious tarot which symbolizes strength through adversity or falling to one's own hubris and incompetence. The Titan Arcana grants Ren not only protection from his current Persona's weakness(like Arsène with Ice/Bless) but even harm enemies despite their resistances(Strong Against/Null/Drain).

Kafka and Soshiro are essentially two flavors of dads when it comes to the Phantom Thieves. The former being a kindhearted yet silly figure who isn't afraid to give the young teens a hug or advice if need be. Luckily they don't seem to mind when kaiju based terminology like 'whelp' and primal behavior such as nuzzling slips out. Even if Ryuji thinks he acts more cat than a kaiju.

Soshiro is the mischievous but observant parental figure. Very quick to spot one of the thieves having trouble with something and easing their stress via a joke or prank. Phantom Thievery stacked alongside everyday life would definitely overwhelm a normal person, let alone a high school teenager.

It ain't uncommon for the thieves and their Persona to ask both men questions about their world. Not everyone has to deal with actual kaiju wreaking havoc on an almost daily basis. There definitely was a loud 'WHAT' moment when Soshiro mentions he's the Vice Captain to an entire military division.

Same thing for Kafka upon telling Hoshina's captain is his childhood friend and how he got his powers. He is secretly relieved that they understood Tiny forced himself down his throat rather than the man willingly eating a small kaiju. Although Futaba is concerned about this bleeding through the obvious connection with Ren.

Something proven right when Kafka senses a kaiju in Ren's room and finds the youth in the middle of shifting. A biological response upon being somewhere safe to heal. Unlike Kafka, the Phantom Thief leader is a quite feral while in kaiju form.

It's more than just opting to use his horns, claws, and teeth instead of his knife. Ren has a tendency to walk on all fours alongside using his enhanced senses like smell to track down potential targets as he can sniff out desires. He isn't shy of roaring, growling, and purring either. The estimated fortitude level for Ren is 9.5.

Obviously due to their corporeal form outside the Metaverse, Kafka and Soshiro often get into discussions with the Persona. The most frequent being Arsène or Zorro since they are the closest(eventually Necronomicon once Futaba joins.) An almost surreal experience if the Persona didn't have a habit of gossiping, cheating at Tycoon *looks at Carmen/Arsène/Milady/Captain Kidd*, causing mischief and questioning whether both men are in a relationship together.

Shenanigans that continue despite the duo going back to their world. Kafka and Soshiro were obviously kept under a watchful eye once they had woken up. Moreso the former as his vitals were very suspicious while under observation during his 'coma'.

This soon leads to Kafka being barred from the Entrance Exam much to Mina's hidden dismay. Not forgetting that both men have to undergo some physical therapy before being released. Luckily they have help from Ren and Morgana to assist them. The Phantom Thieves unfortunately leave their mark in the KN8 world as well.

Although with less heart stealing and more kaiju related vigilantism. Sometimes these monsters get a little too close to comfort so Ren, Morgana, nor any visiting thief have issues defending themselves with their Persona. An activity which only increases when Kafka is barred from the Defense Force and goes for the vigilante route.

I have another idea that may or may not be used. Fragments of the Metaverse had fallen into the world as it had yet to heal from P5 Royal's events. These 'Meta Shards' have a tendency to lure kaiju and people oozing negative emotions to them.

If not handled soon, a pseudo maze like Palace called a Den will manifest. These places are areas where the Metaverse has leaked through causing Shadows to not only appear but make kaiju go berserk. Dens can't be seen by those who haven't interacted with the cognitive realm.

This unfortunately leads to innocent bystanders not only walking into one but the potential of their Shadow becoming the Ruler known as a Beast. A Den will continue to cause various problems until the Treasure inside is taken and the Beast is defeated. Thus the Phantom Thieves must make their debut in the KN8 world before things really get out of hand.

Whether I implement this bit or not doesn't change the fact the Defense Force is gonna get involved. Mysterious teenagers and a strange cat creature that can summon an unknown type of kaiju would already set off alarms. The Meta Shard stuff would just ramp it up.

Soshiro and Kafka will get involved in both Strikers alongside Tactica. Whether other KN8 cast members other than No.10 joins the action is a coin flip at best. I can say that Soshiro will operate a bit differently once he gets his kaiju 'partner'.

it’s quiet, and it’s cold.

quietly stumbling around in the room, you try your hardest to make sense of your surroundings as you squint your eyes in the dark. the sun is not even out and yet you’re already getting ready to head out, cursing yourself for the nth time for being such a dedicated working member of the society.

you’re slipping on a new pair of socks when a rustling sound followed by a low, groggy voice greet your ears.

“where are you going?”

you turn towards the bed, smiling when you see your boyfriend craning his neck a bit to look at you. he’s laying on his side, glimpses of a bare chest peeking from the blankets he had pulled up in the middle of the night.

“i have work, baby,” you murmur, hushed and soft as to not disturb the peaceful atmosphere in the room.

he frowns and huffs a little, and your heart squeezes slightly at the sight. you approach the bed, your hand reaching to tenderly sift your fingers through his hair, the gesture slowly but surely lulling him back to dreamland. “go back to sleep. i’ll be back before you know it,” you promise.

“fine…” comes a sleepy and grumpy reply, and you would’ve left it at that if not for the moment when he does it.

that eye contact before the slow, single blink as if to say ‘i love you.’

it’s what he always does whenever you leave in the early mornings without him, something you’d started to notice recently.

the smile on your face grows wider by the second as you trail the back of your knuckle down the slope of his nose, featherlike and intimate. “and i love you, baby. so much,” you coo, heart soaring with all the affection and ardour you hold for him.

you watch as he falls back asleep, a war waging in your head whether to go about your day or call in sick just to spend time with him in bed. there’s nothing you wouldn’t do for your beloved, after all.

he’s the love of your life, so it’s only right that you treat him like such.

MARZ Rising - Chapter 170: The End (Epilogue)

Okay, I've been holding off on getting emotional with my goodbye to this story and this extended AU but now's the time, so here it is:

I Started writing this story in March 2021, the fifth installment of a project which has been ongoing ever since I began posting The Downward Spiral in September of 2016…. Almost eight years of coming to a close here and I can only hope that I've done myself justice.

By coincidence it also transpired that I wrote this epilogue in the same week that the end of Rooster Teeth after twenty-one years was announced, something which made me want to work harder because this is now no longer just my send-off to the Spiral-Verse but also, as things stand to RWBY and Rooster Teeth as a whole. RWBY has been a big part of my life for these last eight years, it's the show that made me a writer and I can honestly say that my life would not look the same at all without it.

I also want to take a moment to thank every single reader who has enjoyed these stories, especially those who have left reviews and especially those few of you who have been here since the beginning.

There's also a very special thank you and goodbye I need to say here, it wouldn't feel right if I didn't: That is to the user @thesumosnipe who was the driving force to continue the Spiral-Verse beyond its' third installment, this story would literally not exist without him however he unfortunately passed away in 2022….Wish you could have been here for this.

This marks the end of an era, I'm at a point now where I want to move away from Fanfiction and begin posting my own original writing. Ideas are in place and will be taking shape in the near future.

I wish you all well now and in the future and as the late, great Monty Oum said "Keep moving forward"

Jaune: (Thinking) "Talk to them as soon as I could." How am I supposed to do that?! After the way I left, they probably think I abandoned them. How will everyone treat me now that they know I'm alive?.

Jaune: (Pling!) Huh? A notifica- (PLING! PLING! PLING! PLIPLIPLI-) FIVE HUNDRED NOTIFICATIONS?! Should... Should I even open one?.

You abandoned us! Bastard! I hate you! Just like Cinder... Should have been Pyrrha...

Jaune: I... I can't! I'm too scared!

Jaune: (RIIIIING!) ARGH! R-Ren?! Okay, okay... Just answer it. Three... Two... One... (Blick!) See? Easy as- I HUNG UP! ARGH! NOW THINGS ARE EVEN MORE AWKWARD!

Ren: (Via scroll) So you'll answer for Nora but completely ignore me?.

Ren: Putting that aside, I would like to say...

Ren: YOU FUCKING IDIOT! What the hell were you thinking, dropping off the face of Remnant while we had to fight our way through a sandstorm and Grimm to reach Shade Academy! Even if you did have a reason to lose contact with us, you could have still found someone else's scroll and called us! Did you even try?!

Jaune: (Wincing)

Ren: Do you have any idea...

Jaune: (Looks at scroll)

Ren: (Crying) ...how much we were worried about you?

Jaune: Sorry, I was... I was going through a lot and... No, that's not right. To be perfectly honest, I was scared. Scared that you guys thought I was abandoning you as your leader and your friend. I thought you guys would be pissed off at me knowing that I'm alive and I left you guys alone.

Ren: That's-

Nora: Damn right, we are! Of course we're mad at you! I mean, do you have any idea what happened after we made it out?! And we didn't have you to lead us! So yeah, we were mad... but that doesn't mean we hate you.

Nora: And actually, now that I say that, I'm even more pissed that you think we'd hate you! Oh, when you get over here, I am so gonna-

Ren: (Takes scroll) And just so you know, it's not just us who feel this way. It's all of us, and that includes all of our friends waiting for you here.

Jaune: ...

Weiss: Hey, Jaune? Are you done yet? It's time for lunch, and Ruby wants us to be proud of her for it.

Jaune: ...

Weiss: Ja-

Jaune: They called me an idiot, Weiss. And they're right...

I had an idea of my Generation AU: MonsterVerse Edition.

Godzilla's short background:

Dr. Ishiro Serizawa is the adoptive father of Godzilla after Godzilla's father, Dagon (who is a close friend of the Serizawa family), was murdered by MUTO Prime when he was 4 years old.

I will say my favorite thing about king of monsters is that yesterday I watched the uncut version of gojira from 1954 and the dichotomy of Dr Serizawa is beautiful.

In the original he's the one who just creates and arms the oxygen destroyer that kills Godzilla/Gojira. In King of Monsters - the newest one by legendary Studio not the 1956 Americanized version of the '54 film- Dr Serizawa is against using it [the oxygen destroyer] and instead kills himself arming a nuclear device to save Godzilla/Gojira.

Also for the uninitiated with older Godzilla films it's currently the 70 year anniversary of toho's films. As such you can find live streams on both Twitch and YouTube of Godzilla films from the toho era. The twitch stream I believe is also going over Ultraman, Super Sentai, Kamen Rider and more, not just Gojira but the YouTube live stream was just Gojira.

Heritage Through Cognition

An insane idea that has been pecking at my brain for awhile. If the title wasn't enough foreshadowing, this is a Persona 5 based idea. Let's get started. Next part is here.

Before the next game that would determine the fate of humanity is rigged by a mad god, another decides to even the scale. A blue butterfly flies through an alternate realm where kaiju rampage for a simple goal. Obtain a piece of Cognition from two like-minded souls.

Fragments that when once combined would give life to the butterfly god's champion. An apology was given to the newborn child as he is soon left by the doorstep of the Amamiya Household. Who were the souls whose Cognition is used in the process? Kafka Hibino and Soshiro Hoshina.

I'm sorry but I couldn't resist. Ren Amamiya is essentially a Hoshikaf kid because by god it's an image my ass cannot unsee. Hairstyle, personality, weapon choice(Soshiro uses swords + Kafka can't= Ren uses a knife), etc. Yeah, these three! 👇

Back on to the topic at hand... Ren has no clue about his real origins through his life. Although his creation did have a side effect on both Soshiro and Kafka. Whenever Ren goes to sleep at the end of each month, he relives it's entirety again but with the two men there instead of his parents.

Soshiro and Kafka believe it's just some weird yet lovely constant dream for months. Living a peaceful kaiju free life with a great child alongside a perfect lover. That is until they both bump into each other a week later. You can bet the duo were so confused as Kafka figures they could talk about the experience at a nearby coffee shop.

The two don't know why they keep having this strange dream or why but decided to stay in touch. Something that would continue for 12 more months without deviation. (A year = 1 month basically.)

Then Ren gets arrested and the dreams strangely stop for two weeks. (Kafka would also gain his Kaiju powers during this period with Soshiro knowing about it too rather than just Reno.) A peculiar change that didn't bode well for either of them.

This hunch would be proven right when they both wake in a strange castle. Kafka stuck in kaiju form while Soshiro somehow had his Defense Force gear. Wandering around the castle, the men would soon reunite with Ren (just awakened his Persona) and his group.

Yup. Soshiro and Kafka get to go through the events of Persona 5 Royal as why not have some unaware family bonding? (I'll go more into that in a different post.) Here's how things work with the two.

Only their minds have been transported, not their bodies so both are essentially comatose to everybody else back home. Kafka's kaiju form and Soshiro's DF gear function similar to the Phantom Thieves' outfits so they are constantly active in the Metaverse. Finally only Ren, his confidants, alongside those who have entered the Metaverse can see either man.

Kafka and Soshiro are basically ghosts to everyone else since they don't have their actual bodies. The Persona often take advantage of this to talk with both whenever possible. Even potential demons based on literature, fiction, mythology or history need a break from their teenage charges.

Before you ask, Ren does have a Kaiju form. The reason is because Tiny, the larval kaiju, altered Kafka's cognition and thus the teen's body received one in return upon the two reuniting. Kinda a transfer based update comparison wise. It fully awakens after Ren makes it back to Leblanc post Interrogation.

A life or death response that raised a lot of questions between the KN8 duo. Ren's Kaiju form looks very similar to Kafka's but leaner, horns are arched like Arsene's, highlights/eyes are red, skull mask resembling his Phantom Thief one, a long slender tail, and black bat wings with purple feathers. The answer is revealed when the real Igor comes back.

Let me tell you that the conversation between Ren, Kafka and Soshiro was a bit awkward afterwards. A butterfly god did make a kid from both their cognitions without permission after all. Now I know some of you guys are wondering what's going to happen to our dear Joker once Royal's events end.

Well, Ren ends up in the KN8 world since that's where the cognition used to make him is from. First he awakens inside the Velvet Room alongside Morgana and has the entire thing explained to him by Igor. Both worlds are now accessible through the Thieves' Den with the duo also retaining their Persona. (Morgana also can switch forms too.)

Considering how dangerous the KN8 world is, some extra protection would be needed. There's of course a drawback. Persona are tangible in that realm thus everyone can see, touch and even harm them. Focus being required to keep their inhuman partners invisible.

You can bet Soshiro and Kafka were very surprised but grateful to see Ren again. Although that begs the question. Do they explain to everyone about having a teenage kid when both aren't even married?

No one saw it coming that's for sure.
