Think about-Post
Just a quick greeting from Kaihola. There's not much you can do here, but a few people live here anyway (I let them immigrate with the story progression). I only have one picture of the lighthouse, just before nightfall. And I'm thinking to myself: why can't you just have a walk-in lighthouse in every world? The standard thing doesn't really have any use... except to stand there and... That's all. You could expand your stories so nicely with a walk-in lighthouse. I have enough ideas. Maybe I'll build one on a fairly small plot of land and then slap it in every world I come to.😏

@technicallyswagpizza was kind enough to share his lovely Kaihola CAW-files with me so I could change them for my own use. So this is what I have been doing there.
The biggest change I did was in the town center. I basically removed and replaced big lots with smaller ones.
This here, is the university district. The only building I've build so far is the student house. The residential lot next to it might or might not end up being some kind of apartment lot, but honestly I don't know. The lot next to it, will be the student union building - AKA - "the uni".
My sims will be doing my fake uni, but I still want to give them at least some type of uni experience.
Next we have the town center. Both the church and the pub fitted perfectly here, but the train station I had to rebuild onto a smaller lot. I know there is no train in Kaihola (which is an island), but I do love that lot so much I just have to have it. We can always pretend, it's the bus station.
I'm really looking forward to playing with @phoebejaysims 's new postal and banking mods and one of the empty lots next to the train station will be where I set these businesses up. But which one will I choose and what will it look like, I have no idea. But I do know Oswald will be running the post office.
Speaking of lots that fitted perfectly into Kaihola, the misty pond came also along.
This is the corner of the town center with three community lots available here, before the row of houses start. The first lot is the bookshop that one of Katrina's daughters will be running in the future. The next, the grocery and butcher's shop from IronEdge. But because this lot is longer, I did add some extra shops for further need.
The lot opposite the shops is currently empty. It will either become a police/fire/hospital combo lot, or a row of shops. Haven't decided yet.
And then we come to row of houses for the factory workers. Usually small towns always have that one factory where everybody works. So here is that factory on some prime property at the end of the street.
Because my school is built into an old shoe factory, it made sense to have it next to the factory. Also, it's good for the children to get used to the factory as this is where most of them will probably end up working.
Thank god I had originally built Katrina's house on a 20x20 lot and still had the original lot saved. Now Katrina can move to familiar surroundings.
As you might have guessed my sims are moving. For now I have moved here all the sims I had created and that you have seen both in the behind the scene videos as well as some pictures I've taken in Hylewood. With the überhood as my new side-project I knew I will have neither time or energy to play three hoods, so that's why all my sims will be living in the same hood.
I'm currently playing through the sims who I moved here. Some families I have played to the point I want to play them and now they are just background sims. Some I still need to play.
I have not yet moved anybody from IronEdge here. This will come later. The lovely @simsarahsarah suggested I do a town reset into my crashing town and that is what I have done. I hope this helps so I can continue playing Katrina's family in the old hood for a while, until I have everything set up here.
What will not change is the hood name. I'll still call it IronEdge, because I just really like that name :)

Kaihola by @technicallyswagpizza is everything. I placed some more trees, shrubs and flowers here and there and let my foxes explore the island.
edit: the trees in the first pic are from @breadcrumbss3 btw. Love them!

Gave @technicallyswagpizza’s Kaihola a go. I’m guessing the Bistro shouldn’t be there. I wonder what else went awry.
Jamin Skaarsgaard was my guinea Sim. He's a NPC I rescued from Aurora Skies.
