Smaller Desks Part 2

Another batch of desks made smaller, this time ones that look a bit more "unusual" than the standard fare. The Little Princess's Little Desk presets match the Animal Friends Tall Shelf from HERE.

Issues: if you use the PC with the CRT monitor, it will clip with the shelf on the Ode to Distraction desk. The desk footprints also look 2x1 but have an actual 1x1 footprint, and you can place objects to the side of them without MOO.

Started the project of renovating Riverview, lot by lot , without using custom content - except for RH rugs - . I’m also going to be using some free Store items, from time to time. Once done (which should take a while, I’m taking it slow), there should be a save file with all the makeovers, in the meantime here is the latest one.

ROUGHHEWN

Renovated on patch 1.67 -Originally in Riverview (Size: 40x40) - Lot Label: Residential

Renovated for a savvy sculptor or one who'd like to dabble in mud ^^ It's supposed to be a modern renovation of an old barn but I kinda got stuck with the old barn look . I'll try to make it more modern for the save file.

There will be Billy Caspian living there in the save File.

Using Items from:

EPs: WA, Ambitions, Late Night, Generations, Pets, Showtime, Seasons, University Life and Island Paradise.

Simynthos - (almost) cc-free

With all testing done I am happy to share with you the (almost) cc-free version of Simynthos today! I was actually surprised by how quickly it could be transformed, and I have to say I'm very happy with how it turned out!

For this version I removed all decorative cc. The only cc you now need for full functionality are the rabbit hole rugs. The lots are so small, there wouldn't have been nearly enough room for the in game rabbit holes. The rabbit hole rugs can be downloaded here.

I still recommend using the performance mods from the original post here, just to make things a little more smooth and enjoyable during gameplay. But they are not strictly necessary. You could also go completely vanilla (more on that below).

There are a couple of things to note:

Some of the double beds are placed against a wall and therefore only one sim can sleep in them now. You can replace them with the one sided beds for two sims, the ones I used in the original version, if you like. The mattresses by sketchbook pixels can be found here, and some nice custom bed frames from @aroundthesims can be found here.

I did make use of @omedapixel's S3DT (Sims 3 Decorator Tool) in two or three places, just to place decorative items on surfaces where they cannot be placed in a vanilla game. You do NOT need the mod for these items to stay in place, as long as you don't move them when redecorating. Then they may slip back into normal mode and you will only be able to place them back with the mod. But it's only in a couple of places, so even if that happens, it will not have a significant impact on your game.

Replacing some of the cc did result in some interactive items not being usable at first, but I hope I caught all of those cases during the (quite extensively 😉) play-testing. So now all interactive items should be usable. If you find any place where an item can't be reached by the sims, please notify me and I will update the world.

How does it run?

I have tested this version of Simynthos in two scenarios: With the routing optimization mods I recommended for the original version (that's the save all the screenshots are from 😉), but also in a completely vanilla game, playing just a small family with one child, and it actually ran pretty well on my gaming laptop, even without any routing improvement mods (my game is optimized though)! If you're going completely vanilla, it may get a bit annoying in some places though, with sims not being able to pass each other, and toddlers not being able to be put down on the ground due to lack of space. But if you do not want to use any mods at all, it would probably still be playable with a small household that doesn't host huge parties 😉

This makes me really old to write that, but remember I had converted Sims 4 Get to work police station almost 10 years ago? (no lie, it's here, uploaded in May 2015!) Selfishly, I had converted only the objects I had planned using in my own game, but a Patreon recently asked me if I could convert the items I had left behind at that time, so here are they!

@ravasheencc's Mint to Be Ice Cream Market - 4t3 conversion

THIS DOWNLOAD REQUIRES ARSIL'S ICE CREAM STAND MOD - WITHOUT IT, IT WON'T WORK

When I saw this set, I wanted to convert it on the spot, and when I looked at Arsil's mod, it would just be an OBJK change, so, super doable :)

Both ice cream stations are floating on counter height - I tried to make them fit a large slot at first, but it made both the seller NPC and the buyer sim float in the air. That said, put the station first, then the counters - even without placement flags, they can go over surfaces without reason, as Arsil also warned about at MTS. No need to use moveobjects on, though.

This time, only the sandwichboard and the wall sign (not the poster) are recolorable. There's really no reason for the other objects to be :P

All under 600 polys 8D

Wall sign and poster under Deco> Paintings, sandwichboard under Deco>Sculptures and the ice cream stations are both at Build>Community>Misc and Entertainment>Misc for ease of access, but it won't let a sim get free scoops if they're on a residential lot.

It's also a great add-on for @twinsimming and @olomaya's 4t3 Boba tea set <3

Sims Can Skate on Smaller Ponds

Ah yes, another annoyance to address, inspired by the fact that my old savegame lacked a pond the game deemed acceptable to skate on.

This mod makes it possible for sims to skate on smaller ponds, as small as roughly 3x3 squares. The only condition is that the edges must be smooth so that sims can enter (see above).

⚠️ If the 'Ice Skate' interaction is grayed out and says that the pond is too small to skate on, enter Build Mode on the lot the pond is on (you don't have to edit anything), and the interaction should be enabled when you return to Live Mode. I have had to do this on every lot with a tiny pond I wanted my sim to skate on. However, the good news is that you only have to do this once per lot-with-pond per save, and it carries over after saving, quitting and reloading that save.

The Seasons EP is required.

Compatible with patch 1.67 and likely 1.69.

Up to 2 sims can skate at the same time on the smallest ponds.

A few parameters in the LotPond_0x57EA51B140D8B9EF XML have been changed, but, since all that's listed in that XML has to do with skating-on-pond parameters, the chance for conflict is very low.

Does not conflict with my Skating is Fun mod either.

Auto MoveObjects On Stɑrtup

I'm someone who has certain cheats that I always turn on when I load my game. Mods like Auto TestingCheatsEnabled True, and Auto BuyDebug are a staple for me. But one stable was missing. MoveObjects On.

So, with a lot of the help of my equally nerdy sister @mahriraesims, Pudding Face 1902 Youtube and MTS Tutorials, I present to an Auto Move Objects On Mod ✨

Original main house is based on the painting : American Gothic pain, so went that way too for the makeover. They are not included but there is room for the cows and chickens.

My preview picture doesn't show the candles because I'm stupid, but it's still a functional, buyable and edible birthday cake (with candles if you want to!), with few other freezer bunny things because I'm fan of that little guy!

Pixicat shoes for elder females

I initially wanted to divide this in several parts, but then figured — what the hell, let's just throw everything in there. These are 21 shoes by Pixicat, converted for elder females. You'll find previews of the presets and masks in the archive.

Next up are shoe conversions for elder males.

You can find my other Pixicat conversions here.

⚠️These shoes are pretty high poly compared to EA's! See under the cut for every item's polycount.

⚠️ The bone assignments on some of the heels and platforms aren't the best! These shoes are pretty weird in terms of vertices, so they may look deformed in certain poses. Normal sim movement should be fine, though.

For elder females. The shoes are enabled for various categories that make sense (e.g., the heels aren't enabled for Athletic!), but NOT enabled for random.

Most have 3 channels; almost all shoes also had inactive channels enabled, so I disabled those because they did nothing. The presets are identical to Pixicat's. For the sake of consistency between ages, I didn't change images (except replacing one-channel masks with smaller versions, to reduce filesize).

YA versions not required.

Pixicat: Biker Boots & Simple Shoes for teens & elders
