Looking for Advent Calendar background image submissions from you!

For my annual Advent Calendar, I am looking once again for submissions! Create your most beautiful wintery landscape, cozy fireplace scene, Christmas Market spirit, or anything else that represents the coziness of the season to you! Keep in mind that people will likely see it several times, so maybe you want to focus on telling a story within the image or add little details that people can discover. But you do you! I very much appreciate your submissions! Thank you for helping me make my Adcant calendar extra special! Please read all of the terms and instructions before you submit! Thank you!

the scene should be either wintery, festive, or both

the scene can be futuristic, fantastic, historical, contemporary, whatever you like!

it should be made with/in the Sims 3 (you can also make a render if it is based on Sims 3 meshes)

Keep in mind that the doors will be placed onto the image and may partly obscure the image. Details at the edges of the image might get cut off, depending on the user's display settings.

the image should be 1920x1080 pixels or bigger (if you really want to submit but have a smaller resolution, talk to me, I'm sure we can work something out)

please make sure that you upload the image submission in a way that does not reduce the size or compress the image (the tumblr dm's will reduce it, so please upload it to a photo or file hoster.)

I will reserve the right to do some editing in terms of colors or lightness or maybe smooth out some jagged seams. I may also use an AI-based upscaler to increase its size to support more screen sizes.

You can edit the image yourself before you submit

If possible, please please turn on edge smoothing/antialiasing before you take screenshots, or use reshade to smooth the edges.

You can use Custom Content (even my own😋)

if I get several submissions, which I count on, I will do my best to divide the time justly so every picture gets equal "screen time". However, I cannot guarantee it.

please let me know how you want to be referred to in terms of credit. I will add your credit directly in the image so people know it is yours! If you want to use your blog handle, I will refer to it as @ tumblr, for example.

Please submit by November 28 if you can manage. I do accept late submissions under special circumstances, just talk to me :)

I will only use the images as a Calendar background, for nothing else

Please only submit images if you are okay with all the terms!

@simlicious' Advent Calendar patterns are always a highlight of the festive season and this year is no exception! It's hard to pick favourites but the preppy wool fabrics are particularly gorgeous and inspired me to do a photoshoot with Vinnie, Georgina and their blue-blooded neighbour, Melinda Bradstreet-Fyfe. The pattern on Georgina's pullover, left, is a warm and cosy Argyle, while Melinda's skirt is showcasing a classic houndstooth wool tartan fabric. Last but by no means least, Vinnie is rocking a basegame jacket improved 1000% by another beautiful wool tartan pattern. Shot on location at the Appaloosa Plains Golf Club. 1. What do you have under your bed? Travel bags, a guitar case and dust. Do you know that in french, we don't have dust bunnies, but sheeps? :D

2. Favourite candy? Chocolate (to be very precised: milk chocolate with nuts and dried grapes)

3. The last thing you drew/doodled was:  Ahaha, I doodled around my schedule for the Advent calendar; the day names are filled with flowers or abstract doodles. I drew them when I was at phone. I can't speak at phone without doodling! Sometimes I draw a word that has been said during the conversation and doodle around all the conversation long! :D

4. Are you completely sober rn?  Right now, yes, absolutely.

5. What’s the one thing that annoys you more than anything? Pfffffff... So many things! But the fact most of our politicians totally ignore the climate change drive me really mad.

6. Have you ever gotten your tongue stuck to a cold pole during winter?  Nooooo! When I was a kid, I had my fingers stuck a couple of times on the metallic ice-cube container that was in our freezer, and each time, it made a tiny black ball of blood on my fingers. It didn't make me want to see what it would do if it was my tongue! :D

7. If you could be anywhere in the world right now, where would it be? Where I am, but in a safer world.

8. What was the single last word you spoke? "See you later", at phone with a friend. Well, no, to be exact I said “A plus tard!”

My Advent Calendar 2023 is complete! Now you can download the whole collection in one file.

This is my biggest pattern collection yet and consists of 218 pattern files! I couldn't make them all fit into a pretty preview image, but I included in-game pictures of every pattern.

This very versatile collection features all kinds of patterns from fabric, knits, florals, and plaids, to bricks, tiles, carpet textures, wood, and even noise textures!
