They judge and assume and are always ready to pull the rug from right under you, breaking down your spirit. But I won’t allow for your spirit to be broken. Not the spirit of my sparkly, joyful honeyhaired freckly baby. I will NOT allow it.

"And if you feel safer hiding your spirit so people won’t break it, we will fully support that. We always will. Maybe it feels safer until there's a better time, a better headspace, better friends. And maybe nothing will ever happen again, or maybe it will. We’ll see. We will see when and how your spirit blooms.”

"Oh-ok," I nodded and fell into my mom's arms.

I wanted to be tough and cool and at the front of the pack. But I just couldn't. Everything was so quick and confusing and I wanted a pausebutton and quiet self reflection on an uninhabited island. Later on I'd regret I hadn't pushed through at this age, be braver and experiment more, instead of crawling back into the bottom drawer.

"Did he calm down a bit?" I heard mama Bree ask. Mama Bianca nodded, and I could all too easy imagine the "I told you so," Mama Bree had undoubtedly said before Bianca hastily followed me upstairs.

For Finn 💜 = What children does your muse have, do they want anymore/any at all?

👩‍👧‍👧 = Does your muse have any siblings? Do they wish they had more/any? For both Finn + Flo 👌 = Does your muse thing they are/would be a good parent?

Finn: Stephchild, Gabriella. He never had the luxury to think about/ consider kids before, but the time with Flo and Gabriella woke up some fatherly feelings in Finn. He would love to have a baby in whatever way, but Flo is too hurt by how they "acquired" Gabi that adoption, surrogacy... it's all a big no. Adopting a pet together is sort of a compromise, but not it of course.

Finn has been thinking that that might be one of the ways his life might be easier if he had just... Followed his parent's plan. He'd learn to love a cis woman his parents picked out platonically, manage... Something... And get some cute miniFinns out of it.

No siblings. My story takes bits and pieces from real life, and China's one child policy for a while is part of it. It is also one of the reasons the relationship with his parents was so sour for the longest time, all the pressure was on him.

Finn thinks he'd be a great parent too. He does great with Gabi and is overall a good natured cinnamon roll who would be a fun dad playing with the kids all the time, throw them great birthday parties ( and he does for Gabi!) and the like. Finn would be a very cute dad.

Flo knows how they would be as a parent. They think. Sort of. They were very young when Gabi appeared, had to put their roughly started acrobat career on hold, and the "how" ( assuming Charlotte had drugged and assaulted them, then the clone thing discovery) put a sour feeling on everything. They would want to travel the world with finn... But .. Gabi. How all that went ruined the concept of "kids" for them.

"I am a freak and I just want to be me but-" “SHUT IT!” mom grabbed my shoulders and face and forced me to look straight at her. Immediately, I felt so incredibly weak. I shivered and I couldn't say a word as she pulled me closer forcing me to listen.

"Shut. It." Her eyes shot full of fire, refusing to be extinguished by tears that started to form in them. "YOU ARE NOT A FREAK."

"But.." I wanted to push away, but she held me tight. Not in an aggressive way, but headstrong. In that moment she seemed like the strongest woman on earth. "You're not a freak or an abomination. You're my baby. My baby aren't freaks. You're perfect. Don’t tell your sisters but you’re the one I actually chose to have. I chose to have you, my perfect, oh so incredibly welcome little Flo. And. you. are. perfect. Got it?"

She looked at me with those skyblue eyes of hers, showing the supposed sparkle people said I had as well. They were so intense, so loving, and I knew she meant what she said and I was supposed to believe it. But I just couldn’t feel it.
