i'm probably very poorly equipped to review this movie in-depth as someone who has a very, very limited knowledge on superman, comic books, and his historical development as a character throughout the decades.

BUT!!! as someone who knows nothing about superman, comic books, and his historical development as a character throughout the decades, i had a massive amount of fun with this movie.

spoilers past this point:

i don't know why some people had such an issue with this movie. if i had to be nitpicky, i'd say maybe juggling screentime with so many characters made the movie feel a tad crowded. and i had different expectations for how the fight scenes went, but even if what i got was different than what i wanted, it was still awesome.

there was a lot of GRIT to the fight scenes. a weird amount of body horror (superman being suffocated from the inside out, the kaiju's stomach being exploded, ultraman's wrist being snapped, not to mention all the fucked up shit lex ends up doing) but it oddly worked for me.

i was expecting a more bombastic, fun, funky action film like the first guardians of the galaxy. but superman had me frequently covering my mouth with my hands in abject horror.

lex luthor was INSANE as a villain. absolutely infectious. dominating the screen whenever he's on. the IDYLLIC EXAMPLE of a SUPER VILLAIN, to mirror a SUPER HERO.

and i'm just a huge sucker for an epic feel-good movie. and this is, at its core, a feel-good movie. it's hope. it's optimism. it's heroic.

all the actors are phenomenal. the score is beautiful. the cinematography dynamic and creative.

and probably one of the most compelling and emotionally fascinating superheroes i've seen in all the superhero movies i've seen.

this is a superman who's fragile, and insecure, and vulnerable. and david's portrayal is SO gripping. like, a LOT of superhero movies have main characters who are flawed and vulnerable and yadda yadda, but i don't know. it really just felt like i was looking in on the life of some random human dude on a Tuesday.

he's just some random human dude on a Tuesday who wants to surprise his girlfriend with dinner, and who feels uncertain if she really likes him the way he wants.

he's just some random human dude on a Tuesday who feels frustrated being questioned on his decisions, and who needs to know his dog is okay, and who swears up and down he's a good person, but he doesn't actually know.

there's a lot of superhero movies i love, but it's very rare that superheroes feel like "people" to me, and not "characters", if that makes sense. but this superman really hits that sweet spot.

and as someone with adoptive parents, i'll ALWAYS get misty eyed when you throw in an adoptive parent plot point. that home video montage at the end had me EMOTIONAL.

is it a perfect movie? idk. i'm not a film critic. but no, probably not. but it was awesome and it's a movie i'll happily watch again and again :3

You seem to enjoy drawing chloe with green/teal hair over her blue hair she has in canon... Why is this? Do you just like the color more, or think it fits chloe's Look better, or is there another reason I haven't considered?

hahah, there's really no deeper meaning aside from the fact that her green hair is canon in life is strange 2.

so, green hair chloe just symbolically represents a chloe who's a bit farther along in life and maybe has things a bit more figured out. it's basically me going "hey this chloe is a bit older".

personally i think she looks hotter in blue hair hehehehe but her booger hair is hot too, i guess. she could be bald and i'd still love her unconditionally.

Reading your analysis on Shadowheart and other similar stuff youve written makes it really clear; your porn is really good because you really get how important personality is and that extra layer of characterization makes the portrayals of intimacy genuinely hit different

AAA this is so sweet of you to say. i won't claim to be necessarily good at character analysis or writing, but it IS a very big interest and motivation of mine! character writing and like, the artform of it, is one of my favorite things to just sort of roll around in my head haha. and i love exploring that in my art as much as possible :DDDD i'm really happy some of that comes across!

I don't remember if you answered a question like this but do you have rules for people who get the adopts you put up?

my personal rules are very loose. i consider purchasing an adopt from me like, full ownership. what you do with them is totally up to you.

i don't mind if people redesign them, or resell them, or slap them on a tshirt and sell them :) all i really care about is not lying and say you designed them yourself, but even if someone did that, i'm not sure i would really care enough to take action haha. it's just a respect thing, at that point.
