my touhou tips for beginners and strugglers

try not to get pushed against the very bottom of the screen. advance up through gaps in the patterns instead of waiting for them to get to you

sometimes staying still is the best option. don't panic dodge just because you can't process what's coming at you, you're very likely to just slam yourself into a bullet

practice small movements. very very small movements. no smaller than that. the smallest you possibly can. it will come in handy. do not move more than you have to

IMPORTANT: when you're done playing, imagine those women kissing. this will make it worth it whether you win or lose

How did you figure out you were trans?

There wasn't really a single inciting incident or anything, for me. It was just a pattern of thought and feeling that I can pretty clearly trace back to childhood, both in interests and the general circles I stuck to. As I got older I got progressively more gender non-conforming and when I found out what being trans was, formally, I was like oh yep, I'm definitely some flavor of that.

Legit question: if you hate this site so much why are you still here? Why not go to Bluesky, or Mastadon, or Pillowfort, or Dreamwidth, or any of the other options that don't have the same issues you've outlined with Tumblr? Staying here if you hate it so much just sounds like a complicated form of emotional self-harm

asking a trans woman "if you don't feel welcome here, why don't you go somewhere else?" as if the unwelcomeness is a totally unique anomaly and not the reliable baseline experience for trans women in literally any space, online or irl, that we don't create for ourselves is AT BEST incredibly naive and obtuse. thank you so very much for your concern and kindly go fuck your ugly mother

For Project Eden’s Garden: Who do you suspect will die first, and who do you *wish* would die first?

I can't say that I wish any of them would die first, tbh? Even as much as I rag on someone like Kai, all of the characters so far are decently charming (or at least interesting enough) for me to want to see them continue on in the story. That said, Diana is giving me some death or culprit flags. The extremely sweet ones hardly ever last forever in DR games, especially if they have this many instances early on of going out of their way for someone else's sake. It's usually an early way to establish the tone (and break up the peace) by either having such a character killed or rub up against their outward appearance for the sake of self interest. Either way, the result is going to lead to the group feeling fractured and vulnerable.
