I thought about deleting your ask, full disclosure, but on the off chance this and the more unhinged version of this ask in my inbox are written by two different people, I figured this would be the better version to work with - since some of y'all are clearly curious on what I think.

There's not much to say besides none of this is unusual for SM Entertainment, and the reaction of EXO and SM stans to it, of somehow blaming BTS / ARMY / HYBE for SM's incompetence, is not unusual either. The fact that SM tried to shift the blame to the ministry and the MMA had to release a statement to show this was completely the fault of SM, that too is not unusual for the company. Think of k-pop agencies/fandoms like little political tribes and most behaviours you see here start making sense.

At least, on the plus side, it seems Kai has quickly accepted the reality of enlisting soon and will see some of his fans before he goes, which is frankly the least SM could do given how badly they've botched his EXO and SuperM comebacks.

For the other Anon who sent a similar ask, it's alright to stay aware of what's happening around you in k-pop, but I suggest you channel most of your energy towards focusing on BTS if they're the reason you're here. Getting into the gutter fights with EXOLs, antis, Blinks, akgaes, etc, will only suck you deeper into the muck of k-pop insanity. You'll lose whatever joy you've found in them and turn into a zombified version of your stan self, to the point only a clean break from everything k-pop will be the only solution. Many SM stans are the way they are because they value different things compared to ARMY. Note those differences and move on. Engaging in more of these insane comparisons is only a race to the bottom where nobody wins.

My mental health feels like a struggle.

I know but...When I am about to go offline for a hiatus, it was hard to keep it up and ended up online again after 1 day to keep me offline.

What fears me the most is on August 10, 2023 will be Ravi/Kim Wonshik's sentencing. It's like my worst fear has been realized. If the news is going to be a terrible one on the day being, there's no telling what will happen to me next.
