If I had a nickel for everything a seriously injured man with a dark past showed up out of nowhere to shoot a bad guy to save the hero, I’d have two nickels, which isn’t a lot but it’s weird it’s happened twice.

Please why did y'all curse Jyn and Cassian with the ship name "Rebelcaptain", the amount of times I've misread that as "Rep*blican" is insane

RebelCaptain AU // World War II
The year is 1940, and Europe is at war. Jyn Erso keeps her head down, apart from the occasional brushes with the law. She doesn’t care about flags or countries or sides or allegiances. She’s been on her own for a good, long time, and she won’t fight for anyone except herself.
So when she gets into trouble in German-occupied France, she doesn’t expect anyone’s help – least of all a so-called rescue party spearheaded by the Resistance, who break her out in order to make an offer that promises to change her life forever.
Her father is a scientist working for Germany, and with his help, they have the potential and capacity to inflict untold damage using a new weapon. He needs to be found, and Captain Cassian Andor thinks she’s the one to do it.
Featuring: Explosions, espionage, gunfights and disguises. K2-SO as a British intelligence officer who keeps his sarcasm, Chirrut and Baze as an unconventional guerilla fighter duo, and Bodhi as a German pilot who makes a courageous choice to change the course of the war. A renegade American smuggler called Han Solo might even make a special appearance.

A/N: Man, i had so much fun writing this....on valentine day?
“I’m not used to people sticking around when things go bad”
“Welcome home”
Home.
Though Cassian addressed Jyn, he realized that the statement was also meant for him. Yavin 4 was just a busy bee hive, where he spent his life running on autopilot. Debriefing, training, recruiting, spying and among other things were all that filled his agenda- the rebellion’s agenda.  Seeing Jyn walk with conviction amongst the bustle of comrades on the tarmac had him picture her in a jacket bearing the rebellion’s insignia.
Sergeant Erso.
His head conjures up adventures Rogue One would have, especially ones with Jyn by his side, blaster in hand and a truncheon in the other.
What a nice little thought, he told himself. He rarely indulges in fantasizing, but his mind begged for a little snippet of the future. A future neither of them could have.
The ring of the blaster echoes and the quiet follows. Both Jyn and Cassian’s brief reveries were thrown into silence.
How surreal was the flash of red that sprung from her chest. Her eyelids parted wider for a brief second before fluttering close. As if the Kyber that dangled off her neck was too heavy, it pulled her neck down as her head fell forward.
The sight of Jyn falling flat to the floor froze any physical sensation Cassian had in him. The pain in his shoulder now nonexistent. He frantically bowed lower, trying to peer through the hair that covered the side of her face. Lowering his head as much as his position could grant him. He mutters as if trying to coax her out of sleep. His ears feel like they’ve been stuffed with cotton, yet he could make out Krennic’s muffled voice.
Cassian struggles to look up just to see Krennic looking over at Jyn unamused. He wants to lash out and scream but his body offered no action. The white robed man turns to Cassian.
“Does the rebel scum still stand his ground?” his voice lilts with false amusement “Or should I round up the others and shoot their limbs off in front of each other to get an answer?”  Krennic is aware of his own bluff. He’s trying to humour himself. He knows the remainder of the other rebels are quickly dwindling and he has no time to keep this petty game going. It doesn’t matter what they’re here for and with the Death Star complete, any other attempt against the empire is insignificant and irrelevant. As if bored of the tedious interaction, Krennic turns his back and walks away.
Cassian’s breaths shake with each exhale and the pain in his shoulder starts to grip him once more. Despite all that had happened, it was only when Jyn died had his last bit of hope disappeared.
He could feel a blaster aim towards the center of his spine. Like a limp mutt, he waited for his turn to be put down.
His body jolts forward and his right cheek lands hard on the cold floor. With his head facing Jyn's, he takes in the features of her face. Her hair curtained her eyes and her mouth is slightly parted. It would've been a tranquil sight if not for her bound arms and burned jacket behind her. The gem of her necklaces dulls in complexion.
The force has abandoned them.
With his final seconds of consciousness, a numb calm washes over him- this probably stemmed from bitter acceptance. Though his sense of peace was misplaced, it was still welcomed.
Perhaps in another life, they could have the time to share their scars, maybe laugh about trivial things with their family-the band of misfits, and live without the fear and anguish that the empire brought to them and so many others.
There he goes again with his fantasizing. This will be the last time Cassian does so.
He will always remember the girl who he thought he should’ve left behind in the dust and rubble of Jedha. He will remember her and seek her.
I will find you Jyn Erso
Everything cuts to black, but not before the image of Jyn smiling at him back in the hangar of Yavin 4 burned itself into the back of his mind.

Home is where you go when you're alone
Notes: So this is the rebelcaptain fluff fanfiction I wrote in my head while trying to be able to sleep. It worked out (I fell asleep reeeally quickly) , and the idea was stuck in my head, so I had to write it down. I haven’t written fanfiction in a looooooong time, also this is probably my first fanfic in English(it’s not my mother tongue), so I just want to tell you to ignore mistakes. The title was inspired by “Home” by Gabrielle Alpin.
When Jyn left her room, the hallway was empty and silent. It was already late at night, everybody was asleep. Except for Jyn. She wandered down the hallway barefoot, trying to make as little sound as possible. After all those weeks, she would find the way blindfolded.
The first time Jyn had visited Cassian late at night had been a few weeks ago. After surviving the explosion on Scarif, which was a miracle a medical droid had told her, Jyn was unable to sleep. She had had nightmares before, but nothing was able to help her this time. As soon as Jyn closed her eyes, images began flashing inside her head. Her friends dying, Cassian falling into endless darkness and the blinding light of the explosion, which caused an immense pain in her chest.  That one night, Jyn simply hadn’t been able to take it anymore, so she went to see Cassian. He had still been unconscious that time, his skin badly burned, even worse  than hers. When the troops had found them on the beaches on Scarif, nobody was even sure, whether he would survive. Krennics blaster shot had led to internal bleeding, while Jyn had only suffered from the burns and a few broken ribs.
She had sat by his side the whole night, just watching him. The night after, she had visited again, sitting in the uncomfortable chair that was standing next to his bed, her head leaning against the wall behind her and her arms wrapped around her legs. On her third visit, she had doze off, getting the first sleep in days. Five days later, Cassian had woken up, still weak and tired and recovering, but when she had visited him the following nights, he had always listened to what she told him. Thoughts, dreams, stories from the base and the med bay. He had proven to be really good at listening to her struggles and Jyn slowly learned to open up to him. Jyn had been visiting every night, and Cassian had been listening to her every night, and as soon as he doze off, because he needed sleep, she had kept watching him in his sleep, his chest rising and falling slowly, his face looking peaceful.
Jyn carefully closed the door to Cassians room behind her. He was sleeping in his bed, looking younger than usual. His skin was still reddened and covered in scars, but overall he started to look better. Jyn sat down on the edge of his bed and Cassian immediately moved a bit. He put his hand on her waist and carefully pulled her close. Jyn moved to his side and lay down, her head resting on his chest and her feet tucked under the thin cloth that functioned as a blanket. His breathing was still steady and his eyes had been closed the whole time, but there was no doubt that Cassian was awake. He tightened the grip on her waist slightly and pulled her even closer. Jyn had been laying next to Cassian for the last five nights, feeling a little bit uncomfortable at first. She had been used to sleeping alone, in the weirdest places, on uneven, cold and hard ground. But after all, his body was warm and comforting and she had learned to enjoy the warmth. Cassian wrapped his second arm around her and gently placed a kiss on her hair. “Can’t sleep?”, he asked, his voice rough and barely audible. His eyes were still closed, but he slowly ran his hand along her arm. “No.”, Jyn whispered. “As soon as I close my eyes, the images come back.” “Try now.”, Cassian answered. “You’re safe here, you’re home.” Jyn thought back to the moment, when Cassian had told her “Welcome home.” before Scarif. Back then, she had thought he meant their team, or the rebellion. Now, Jyn wasn’t sure anymore. Maybe the rebellion wasn’t her home, maybe her friends also hadn’t been. Maybe Cassian was home.   Jyn closed her eyes and listened to Cassians heartbeat and his even breathing, slow and steady. Soon her heartbeat matched his, and her breathing slowed down. The gentle touch of Cassians hands on her arm and on her waist became distant as Jyn slowly fell asleep in Cassians arms.
When Jyn woke up, she could already see some light through the little window of Cassians room. She was still tucked in next to him, one arm between her and his body, the other one stretched over his chest. His arms were still wrapped around her. Her body felt sore and tired, but her head was clear and her vision sharp. She rested her head on his shoulder, watching his face while he slept. Despite the scars and the burnt skin that was recovering slowly, he was still beautiful.
When Cassian woke up, the room was already filled with light. Jyn stared into his eyes, a slight feeling of happiness and warmth expanding in her chest, simply because she was able to see them again. “Good morning.”, he mumbled. “Any bad dreams?” Jyn slightly shook her head. “No dreams at all, did you have any?” “No”, he replied, a  smile sneaking onto his lips, barely visible. “Thank you.”, Jyn whispered into the crook of his neck. Without even thinking about it, she reached up and kissed him. Jyn had never kissed anybody before, except for her parents. The feeling was strange, unexpected at first, but his lips were soft and when he kissed her back, Jyn could almost feel her body filling with emotions. She pulled away, heat shooting up her head, as she realised what she had just done. Cassian stared at her for a second. “Welcome home.”, he then said quietly and smiled. And, looking at his smile, warm  and filled with admiration, Jyn realised that he really was the most beautiful man she had ever met.

Generally speaking I’m a big fan of ship names that are just portmanteaus of their names. Cause once we starting bringing in nouns or adjectives it gets confusing.
Case in point I use jynssian instead of rebel captain because that name could describe almost every single ship in Star Wars. So not helpful.
Similarly I prefer clintasha over Blackhawk because that often brings up results for a (hockey?) team. Also not helpful.

I was reading this fic prompt and now I’m thinking about rebelcaptain going undercover or hiding for a few months and during that time having sex but never telling anyone from the rebelion after that period of time is over. So eventually after they come back they stop sleeping around but Jyn finds out she’s pregnant and they both just go “well, shit”.

lmaoooo don’t get me in trouble!!!
okay my brutally honest opinion of éothíriel is [wet farting noise]. but if I have to have a take I prefer the one that says it was absolutely an arranged marriage, likely because ol’ Imrahil wanted to 1) lock down his HBIC status even more tightly and 2) improve his access to nice horsies for his cavalry. I very much doubt there was a ~high romance~ element to it all. I also have it in my notes (maybe from PoME) that Elfwine wasn’t born until FO 8 (though the Appendices don’t confirm this—so unsure) which indicates to me that there was Some Other Stuff going on there. Either a lot of daughters or a lot of god know’s. Either way, not a huge fan of the fairytale HEA there.
JYN AND CASSIAN!! Lights of my life. I think they’re absolutely brilliant and horrifically underrated both within and outwith the fandom. People always want that semi-feral murder couple™ and I think Jyn and Cassian are effectively that, except (Cassian at least) is highly principled and ideological, and neither of them are particularly loud or melodramatic. They seriously rock so fucking hard and it makes me SO sad more folksies aren’t into them.
