So fucking upset to hear about Justin Sane from Anti-Flag. My first tattoo. One of my most memorable concerts with the ex-girlfriend. All that energy I still felt in their music earlier this year as my drunk ass, at 32, managed to stay in the pit for the entire set (something I’ve never been able to do before), fueled by the energy of the past 20 years being validated in the past 3... everything their music meant to me... to imagine the victim carrying a more intense idealization of this man, just for him to betray her like that?

Fuck. My heart just fucking breaks for her and all his victims.

I know the situation is still developing, but even amongst the people who are quick to play devils advocate and immediately call any accountability “cancel culture going too far,” everyone admits the sudden social media wipe is just way too much...

Fuck.

This summer several women revealed they had been abused by Justin Sane. In response, Anti-Flag broke up and he and the rest of the group wrote separate statements, both of them shameful, as they denied the allegations and refused to listen to the survivors.

It sucks a lot to learn that the guy that was front of a band that shaped many people's politics was an absolute piece of shit, and it sucks too that the rest of the band clearly had to know he was doing these things and they not only said and did nothing, they even had the audacity of support him when the allegations where first made.

I give my support to all the survivors. Your voices are heard, you are not alone, we believe you. Take care.
