Here’s a powerful and engaging post for today’s Proverbs Daily, honoring Black History Month and emphasizing freedom from oppression: 🖤 BREAK FREE FROM THE SNARE | Proverbs 6:1-5 (NIV) 🕊️ “My son, if you have put up security for your neighbor, if you have shaken hands in pledge for a stranger, you have been trapped by what you said, ensnared by the words of your mouth. So do this, my son, to free…

The Lost Dream of the Scribe
Before the Ancient Rains The kingdom of power is spirit The gateway to spirit is truth The path to truth is humility Shadows fall upon the flesh of man To turn us away from the path While vexed by shades we do see Lament in turmoil of mans focus Unseen to him his true deceiver Hidden there the darkness behind it Set within but set apart It is not the spirit of man that speaks For of his belief…

PSALMS S.O.A.P. ~ PSALM 72
Friday, 10/27/23
SCRIPTURE:
God, give Your justice to the king  and Your righteousness to the king’s son. ~ Psalm 72:1
OBSERVATION:
Without getting political and all...
...this is pretty personal - the difference between them and me is in my opinion, only a matter of degree...
But to God?
Sin is sin...
APPLICATION:
Receive His justice - as offered through His grace...
Receive His righteousness - as given through Jesus...
Give thanks for He Who knew no sin, but still knows - and died for - me, the sinner...
PRAYER: (With Verses 18 & 19 added in...)
Grace-filled loving Father -  Blessed be Your Name... You alone do wonders.  Blessed be Your glorious Name forever;  May the whole earth be filled with and see Your glory. Forgive my sin, which is great in Your eyes, no matter how small I try to make it...  Let me rely on You instead of trying to willfully handle things myself... Thank You for Your Holy Spirit's presence - may I lean into and rely on it - and for Your Son Jesus Who showed Your love through His life, death, and resurrection - on my behalf... In His Name, and for Your praise-filled, worshipful, glory... Amen and amen.
As always, yours always, in all ways - because Jesus...

Psalm 33:4-5 (NKJV) - For the word of the LORD is right, And all His work is done in truth. He loves righteousness and justice; The earth is full of the goodness of the LORD.

Will always laugh when a professed Christian will talk about "Social justice Warriors" in really demeaning ways. "Warriors of social justice" is literally how I describe the prophets

Approaching God with Awe
1 Guard your steps when you go to the house of God. Draw near to listen rather than to offer the sacrifice of fools, who do not know that they do wrong. 2 Do not be quick to speak, and do not be hasty in your heart to utter a word before God. After all, God is in heaven and you are on earth. So let your words be few.
3 As a dream comes through many cares, so the speech of a fool comes with many words.
4 When you make a vow to God, do not delay in fulfilling it, because He takes no pleasure in fools. Fulfill your vow. 5 It is better not to vow than to make a vow and not fulfill it.
6 Do not let your mouth cause your flesh to sin, and do not tell the messengera that your vow was a mistake. Why should God be angry with your words and destroy the work of your hands? 7 For as many dreams bring futility, so do many words. Therefore, fear God.
The Futility of Wealth (Psalm 49:1–20)
8 If you see the oppression of the poor and the denial of justice and righteousness in the province, do not be astonished at the matter; for one official is watched by a superior, and others higher still are over them. 9 The produce of the earth is taken by all; the king himself profits from the fields.
10 He who loves money is never satisfied by money, and he who loves wealth is never satisfied by income. This too is futile. 11 When good things increase, so do those who consume them; what then is the profit to the owner, except to behold them with his eyes?
12 The sleep of the worker is sweet, whether he eats little or much, but the abundance of the rich man permits him no sleep.
13 There is a grievous evil I have seen under the sun: wealth hoarded to the harm of its owner, 14 or wealth lost in a failed venture, so when that man has a son there is nothing to pass on.
15 As a man came from his mother’s womb, so he will depart again, naked as he arrived. He takes nothing for his labor to carry in his hands. 16 This too is a grievous evil: Exactly as a man is born, so he will depart. What does he gain as he toils for the wind? 17 Moreover, all his days he eats in darkness, with much sorrow, sickness, and anger.
18 Here is what I have seen to be good and fitting: to eat and drink, and to find satisfaction in all the labor one does under the sun during the few days of life that God has given him—for this is his lot.
19 Furthermore, God has given riches and wealth to every man, and He has enabled him to enjoy them, to accept his lot, and to rejoice in his labor. This is a gift from God. 20 For a man seldom considers the days of his life, because God keeps him occupied with the joy of his heart. — Ecclesiastes 5 | Berean Standard Bible (BSB) The Berean Study Bible (BSB) © 2016, 2018 by Bible Hub and Berean Bible. rewatched madoka magica again today bc i fucking hate myself and to absolutely no one’s surprise i went through all five stages of grief in a single evening
#let’s talk about sayaka miki for a second#genuinely the fact that her whole character is centered around tragedy almost to a shakespearean extent#she’s selfless and brave and values her justice and righteousness above all. calls herself an ally of justice#in fact i think it’s rather intriguing how her whole character is centered around “justice”#her story being a more twisted retelling of the original little mermaid#how she is initially portrayed as a very heroic and confident character even before becoming a magical girl. always shielding madoka#selling her soul to heal the boy she loved out of a selfless desire to see him well again#her being absolutely distraught abt being robbed of her humanity and betrayed by kyubey#she combats this harrowing realization by immersing herself in her duties not caring that she is slowly deteriorating in the process#becoming numb with pain and fighting recklessly and psychotically trying to drown out the pain#finally coming to the sickening conclusion that humanity doesn’t deserve her saving and she succumbs to a fate of her making#last words being “i was so stupid” which trumps her previous statement of “there’s no way i’d regret this”#ALSO? the fact that her costume and weapon are symbolic of a knight. she rly portrays this hero of justice who will protect and defend ☹️#i think abt the fact that homura said that sayaka’s wish was so selfless it was only a matter of time before she died#sayaka being the example of what happens to magical girls who go through the entire cycle and eventually become witches is so sad to me#genuinely just like. sick and twisted#very very fucked up.#characters who have their own misconstrued interpretation of “justice” or who are centered around justice in general.#you will always be dear to me.#sayaka reminds me a lot of akechi in some ways ngl#harboring an almost idealized vision of justice but it slowly rots and festers and corrupts their hearts the more immersed w it they become#actually losing their sanity when they fight bc of how much pain they’re in but refuse to acknowledge it until they break#refusing any help and wallowing in misery despite having ppl who love them and want to save them#last words are those expressing regret for being such a fool. for being ignoring#being used by yhe main villain as a stepping stone towards their true goal. they were merely a pawn#also doomed in every version of their reality. always doomed by the narrative no matter what choices they make#i have a type i fear#HAHAHAH ALSO the fact that they’re both dressed so regally compared to everyone else in their respective series#meant to portray them in a virtuous and princely light. only made more apparent by the sword being their weapon of choice#i’m gonna shut up now but they’re soo eerily similar its unnerving tbh 💀

In a drama about demons and humans walking amongst each other, I am not gonna nitpick and point out plot holes, but is still, episodes 5 and 6 of the Judge from Hell gave me pause when I realized that the murderer of the week was presenting DID-like symptoms.
I tend not to be a fan of dramatic depictions of it because there's always an element of sensationalism and never enough nuance, but you know what, murderer man utilizing psychiatric diagnosis for his own benefits didn't even trouble me as much as Han Da On's determination to catch a demon who's not above getting stabby if people are in her way. Justicia has been given a job, and shes gonna do her job and get out of here, barring any other extenuating circumstances like falling in love with someone with the all self-preservation skills of a coconut.
My man, you are just a few bad days away from becoming tomato chutney. You see what a demon can do first hand and you are still like, IN THE NAME OF JUSTICE I WILL BRING YOU DOWN?
On one hand, admittedly, he's unaware of her mission on Earth so fair enough that he's determined to bring her to justice.
On the other hand, I kind of find Da On's righteous fury bemusing on one hand, because while he's getting heated up over Justitia here, surely he's not unaware of the amount of police-inflicted violence that exists? Surely before you cast stones at others, you ensure that yours is not glass house? It feels a little disingenuous for him to be all up in arms but not acknowledge his own biases/privileges.
But I think my previous paragraph is geared more towards the writer than the character. Cop shows exist in a medium where there's room for heroics and glamorizing certain things, but not questioning the system. But, I digress.
To come back to point, right now its like, why do you a bring a gun to a fight that has disappearing magical daggers?
Or I wonder if Da On's anger towards her stems more from the fact that he thought she fit a certain mold -- a mold in which she no way confirmed or even acknowledged -- and hes now angry that the ideal doesnt match reality? This feels more plausible to me. Like discovering your idol has feet of clay. Except, I dont think Justitia even asked to be his idol. The man just put her up there on the pedestal.
Ironically, I feel like his views would be more aligned with the real Kang Bit Na, but he wouldn't be interested in her as much, because she wouldn't challenge his notions the way Justitia does.
I am sad their time of being UST buddies has come to end so abruptly. We could have done with a few more eps of those before it all devolved into angst. However, I am interested in seeing how they progress, and I would absolutely LOVE it if there was some corruption/seduction of innocence where he's brought over to the dark side, but I will not also hold my breath. Sigh.

the brosca warden storyline is insane (affectionate) to me, and it's wild that I happened to choose it first.
I've not played through all the origins myself, but from what I gather in general, I think brosca has the least material effect on later material gameplay – all of the effect is in brosca's character choices/response, which is completely up to the player whether or not/how much to honor.
the 'dwarf commoner' origin title is misleading – brosca's casteless, classless, as low class as possible and fighting tooth and nail while being actively pushed lower. accepting the warden offer is the easiest choice in the world (even aside from escaping the dwarven death sentence) because it offers any level of respect as a person.
later, when they return to orzammar with the treaties, the city insists they were never born. there's record of their death: when they joined the grey wardens. according to orzammar, brosca's homeland, their origin – brosca did not exist until they became a grey warden, at which point they were considered deceased.
(on top of the official records at the shaperate, no npcs acknowledge that you're a dwarf, let alone from the city. you can speak – briefly – to your family, but they're the only ones who acknowledge your past. I found it frustrating while playing that the origin didn't affect much, but that affected my own gameplay; brosca's origin makes the political dilemma seem laughably simple.)
and then. when the archdemon is slain, whether or not brosca survives, they're made a paragon, which is akin to a dwarven god. brosca is immortalized in their people's mythology forever – the same people who refused to admit they existed until their legal death. (presumably bhelen minimizes or eradicates the caste system, but whether or not that takes –) the history of the paragon brosca will almost certainly erase their origin as a casteless dwarf. when, arguably, they wouldn't have become a paragon without that history.

anyone ever talking to a family member and they let put an opinion that horrifies you and so you argue with them, but it gets to a point where you're about to cry, so you shut down because tears would just make everything worse?
#god#vent#i love my family but jesus christ mom#i notice the music playing and ask if its maroon 5#she says yeah but we don't like them anymore#“we”. like a goddamn chronically online cancel culture enthusiast#i ask her why#she says its because someone climbed onstage and tried to hug adam levene during a concert#and he pushed her off and acted disgusted#and i was like like?? its his personal space?? why are you saying he did something wrong??#“his fans made him who he is” so they all have the right to touch him??#“he should be more grateful” that he's being harassed and practically assulted at his own concert??#and she just. wouldn't listen to anything i said.#what a guy went onstage to sabrina carpenter and tried to hug her. is that okay?#“it's different. you're not listening to me. he shouldn't have reacted that way.”#and then later#she turns to my dad in exasperation#“how do i make her listen to me?”#“you're taking this too personally. it's not a big deal.”#i'm sorry i'm capable of feeling empathy#i'm sorry i get passionate about justice and righteousness#i'm sorry you taught me to do the right thing and to stand up for what i believe in#because i guess that's not what you wanted in that moment#i'm sorry that i don't agree with you instantly#i'm sorry that i turn conversations into arguments when you say something i disagree with#i'm sorry that you saying the same thing over and over again wasn't enough to convince me#i hate that this started from maroon 5 of all things#...#well that was depressing#anyways time to pretend like i didn't type this while crying like a bitch
