It's been months and I'm still absolutely baffled by the time I was touring apartments and I asked to see the kitchen, and both the realtor and the landlord looked taken aback and one asked me in complete surprise, "You cook?"

I am a human being in my mid-thirties what the fuck are the other options there

#even if I lived on cereal I'd want to see there was a functioning fridge for my milk #like the way they both seemed so surprised #she wants to see the kitchen?????????????#the most functional room of any house given the human requirement of eating multiple times a day????????????????#Or was it because I'm foreign??????????#Americans don't know how to cook do they??????#no I am at a loss like even if I didn't cook like I"d probably want to know if there was a microwave ya feel #like what was this #it's been months and I still think about it regularly #the kitchen was normal btw #maybe a little tight but I'm one person it would have suited #just....#What #this one was also wild because the landlord wanted me to pay like two years of rent up front in cash #because she wasn't planning on paying any taxes on it #but sure look at me like a freak because I cook girl the fuck kind of life you living
