the amount of hate bortoleto and colapinto have been getting lately is ridiculous. it's starting to get a little tiring to watch how people bash them for no reason at all.

“We’re P20-19, what’s it gonna change?”
eles se unindo pelo trauma bonding real mano kkkkkkkk
Interviewer: We see a very good relationship between Gabriel and Nico Hulkenberg. We see it at the races, on the radio when Nico got on the podium. Gabriel's reaction was really cool. What's it like working with Nico? I remember when we interviewed your father here to talk about Stock Car at the beginning of the year, he told a cool story from the Bahrain tests, where you lent Nico Hulkenberg some eye drop and showed a lot about your relationship with him right from the beginning. What's your relationship with him like? How do you learn from each other? How is it working?
Gabi: It's one thing if we were fighting for WDC, I probably wouldn't be able to have the relationship I have with him today. We really are close, we help each other in a lot of matters. When you're fighting for a world title, it's kind of every man for himself and whoever wins, wins the championship.
But, man, we've come from the worst team on the grid last year, we have to restructure a whole team, we know very clearly from our contracts what's expected of us, that is – we've got to lead Audi to success. Both us [drivers] and everyone working there. It's like a company, to lead it to success you need a good environment. You can't have a toxic environment.
I think that if you have two young drivers, then it’s a bit more complicated. Nico already has 15 years of F1, he already proved himself in those years – even if I believe he’s an extremely talented guy and he should’ve won many more races and been in battles for many more things throughout his career due to his piloting, because he’s a super fast guy. I don’t think he had the opportunities… He came so close to getting into high-end teams but that didn’t work out last second.
I think that, at the beginning, he was a little hesitant of me. He didn’t know how I was gonna be, etc. But I was always very open, always wanted to help... I remember small things I’ve done, like, me being a rookie finding out things he probably already knew, but going to him “Nico, do you know what I found out? Maybe if you mess with the engine brake on this curve... I tested it-” and he’d look at me “why are you telling me this? You’re my teammate”, like, why are you telling me something that can help me outperform you, you know? And I went “We’re P20-19, what’s it gonna change?” We’ve got to advance.
I remember a few of his reactions. The eye drop moment is a small thing, he’d hurt his eye during practice, and I saw it. I have a first aid kit that my coach always brings, I didn’t know if he had one so I went to his room and said “Nico, if you need medicine, I’ve got it here, feel free to take any.” And I think he thought of that as something nice on my part. So, yeah, I think I’ve always tried to create a friendly environment.
However, I can also be the worst teammate of your life if you don’t treat me well and if you are not reciprocating – then I’m also not gonna care to help you. That depends on how the other side reacts though, and Nico was always super open from the moment we started to help each other out and I’ve always had a fondness for him in that sense.
When he got his podium, for example, he's been fighting for 15 years in F1 – he’s someone who I know is extremely talented, who won F2 and F3, someone who I identify with a little –, I was upset he didn't have a podium yet. When he got the podium, I had DNFed in Silverstone, but I made sure to watch it from the garage. I was cheering, I opened the radio because I was happy for him, I ran to the podium because I was happy for him, you know? And, I don't know, I think when you do good deeds good things come your way. I never do it expecting anything back, but in that sense, he really deserved all the support and the team's happiness. I couldn't let myself bring down the team's energy because of my DNF, it didn't make sense, you know? There's always another weekend.
But, yeah, I think that's my relationship with Nico that you asked about.”

Speaking for gabi yes!! I feel he talks much more in portuguese and the interviews he makes, specially with mari becker are always very good, they make the questions for him to get into a lot of detail and idk if saying he has more personality is the right word, but it sounds more natural anyways
And while in gabi didn't have to deal with the same rumors as franco, i felt he was a bit forgotten sometimes, specially in the beginning of the year, when the sauber was still the definition of a backmarker, but the brazilian media always asked him good questions about the car and the difficulties and how he was training and what the team was doing to get better and stuff
with franco i realized how much i might be missing from the non-english/spanish speaker's drivers.
like, i think i know a lot more about franco and what's up with him because the latam and spanish media does 90% of his coverage and they ask him interesting things about his struggles, the pressure, the car, the team, etc. while the english media focus on rumours they made up against him, so in the few interviews he does for them, he comes off dull or like he’s always measuring his words, just properly media trained.
i wonder if japanese, french, portuguese or german speakers know more about their drivers that we don't, just because they get to hear them speak freely in their own language.
