It was just a band.

           Nothing could ever change Tsukishima’s opinion on that thought, all of them were second years. He was in an active band that Yamaguchi joined in their first year, at first, Tsukishima Kei was skeptical about the concept on forming a group with people he hardly knew. A bright orange-haired man that’s in charge of the electric guitar and the vocals, a blueberry eyed boy that seemed to be arrogantly confident in everything he did back then that played the drums, a boy with freckles that was beautifully scattered on his cheeks that was on the bass and Tsukishima himself that was in charge of the keyboard.

           But even if he was skeptical about everything, being cautious and all, he somehow managed to stay in the band for a year now. It has been a regular routine for him to instantly go to the studio that the previous third years rented for them when they still attended Karasuno, they were in a different band with some second years back then but they didn’t see Tsukishima’s band as a threat or as a competition. Well, maybe they saw each other as rivals. But nothing serious.

           Of course, it’s normal for bands to have disagreements on some things. It isn’t something new if he found Hinata and Kageyama on each other’s throats during practice. He’d just scoff at their idiotic attempts on pissing each other off and make some snarky comment about their personalities.

           Aside from Yamaguchi that would usually break them up before they destroyed the equipment that they were using, there was a second-year manager that took care of the paperworks, Yachi. She was reliable in Tsukishima’s opinion, a bit timid and sort of a push-over, but reliable, nonetheless.

           Then, you came.

You were a transfer student. Someone who transferred to Miyagi Prefecture in the middle of August that came from the Kanto region. Tsukishima observed that you were pretty timid but was the type to get along with everyone pretty quickly, you sat next to him and he would catch you often scribbling in your notebook, sometimes you would doze off, and sometimes you would actually put an effort into listening to the professor’s lecture.

It was an accident that he stumbled upon you in your empty classroom, pen tapping as you sang a song. Tsukishima didn’t mean to eavesdrop on you, he was frozen in place at that time, absolutely entranced at your angelic voice. Soft, yet loud. Aggressively beautiful that held power in it. You had talent and he knew that. Yamaguchi saw his friend frozen in place at the door before peeping in and saw you, he heard your voice and was also shocked.

“Beautiful.” Yamaguchi breathed out. Tsukishima was still staring at your back as you continued to sing. He nodded at Yamaguchi’s comment. And he was smitten.

Yamaguchi talked to Hinata about how they could use a main vocalist other than Hinata in their band, he talked about the pros and benefits if he convinced you to join their band, of course Hinata would agree and Kageyama was fine with it as well, saying that they could use an extra hand, Yachi was fine with it too. And it was settled.

“[last name]! please join our band!” Hinata said as he bowed down with Yamaguchi and Yachi, Kageyama was avoiding your confused glances at him and the others while Tsukishima was just there, staring at you intensely. You were obviously surprised and flustered at their approach to you after school, you nervously fiddled with your fingers then looked at them with a hint of redness on your cheek.

“A- alright.” You stuttered out and gave them a sheepish smile, Hinata busted out and tackled you into a hug, dragging you along as Yachi followed in tow. Yamaguchi sighed in relief as Kageyama yelled at Hinata for being too rough on you.

“BOKE! HINATA, BOKE!” Kageyama fumed. Tsukishima was quiet but he was glad that you had agreed.

           It’s been a few months since you’ve joined ‘Fly’ you were now comfortable with the members, keeping them on a leash especially Hinata and Kageyama. You just fit right in as Tsukishima predicted. Your kind and caring nature swayed their hearts as it did with others, normally you were the calm and mother of the group giving them the reassurance and the love that they needed for when they were feeling nervous before a gig. But among the others that craved and gained your attention, where was he? He had no greed of wanting your affection all to himself, after all, you were someone that would outshine the sun, and he was just someone that was stuck in the dark night sky.

           You would constantly come up to him and help him with the keys on the keyboard as you knew how to play the keyboard and the guitar and give him some pointers on how to improve his skills as you did with the others. You were patient with everyone, always sheepishly smiling if they made a mistake while playing, not giving up on teaching them. And Tsukishima admired that about you.

           Confessions were almost regular to you after all, who wouldn’t love your kind personality and your pretty face? Juniors and seniors would come up to you at least twice a week asking if they could take you out and you would politely decline, saying the right things. You would choose your words carefully before telling it to others. And he liked that.

           You let out a deep breath as you nervously fiddled with the pretty pearl pendant on your neck that was given to you by your mother before she passed away, you and the band was on a stage in front of a rather large group of people inside of a large building. Over a hundred people would be watching you on stage singing a song that you and the others wrote. The others were setting up their own instruments as you tried counting down, you were nervous and Tsukishima knew that. He came up to you and placed a hand on your head.

           “Focus. You’ll be okay.” Your eyes grew wide and a small blush appeared on your cheeks, your eyes avoiding Tsukishima’s as he stared at you. You nodded and Tsukishima sighed, patting your shoulder before going back to his keyboards. The action didn’t go unnoticed as Hinata smirked and went to Tsukishima and began poking at him.

           “Ehhh?~ It seems like you DO have feelings after all” He whispered in Tsukishima’s ear as a vein popped on his forehead and hit Hinata on the head who just backed away from Tsukishima as he complained how Tsukishima kept on abusing him physically making you giggle.

           Soon enough they got into position as the curtains rose, the crowd was clapping and cheering for all of you and Kageyama tapped his drumsticks with each other.

           “One, two three!” Kageyama counted down and then you all played your hearts out. As you sang along with Hinata, the two of you holding your guitars as you both took turns in singing the lyrics the crowd as waving along the music. Tsukishima was staring at you as his fingers played along the keys, completely entranced by your passionate singing. Shit, he was falling harder than he thought.

           It was after the show when the group insisted on staying over your house since your parents were away and your house was big enough to let the group stay. They all laid out mattresses on your bedroom floor and goofed around before actually falling asleep.

           Tsukishima couldn’t sleep. His senses was filled with the thoughts of you. The way you smiled at him, the way you would talk to everyone in a gentle manner, the way you skipped on ahead of him when the two of you would walk home together. He was absolutely whipped.

           He quietly stepped out and went to your balcony, he stared at the moon and the stars and laughed at how they reminded him of you. Your eyes would sparkle and twinkle that would make all of the stars in the sky green with envy as you would outshine them. Even if he did compare you with all of the most beautiful things in this world, they wouldn’t stand a chance.

           “Tsukishima?”

           Your soft voiced snapped him out of his thoughts and he looked back, he saw the most beautiful sight. Your hair was messy as you wore baggy gray t-shirt and sweatpants. Even if you would say that you looked like a mess, to Tsukishima you were the most beautiful thing that he had ever laid his eyes on.

           “Yo.” He greeted you casually, silently cursing at how his heart was beating fast in his chest. He leaned against the stone wall and stared back up at the moon. You walked closer and placed yourself next to him, sitting on the edge as you were facing him instead of the view.

           “O- oy, you could fall.” He said, grabbing your wrist as you just smiled at him, the cool January wind blowing slightly as it went through your hair.

           “You would never let me fall.” You replied, he froze for a second and turned away from you.

           “I could push you right now.” He mumbled loud enough for you to hear, his head turned away so you couldn’t see his slightly red cheeks.

           “And I’ll take you down with me.”

           He sighed and ruffled his own hair, you giggled and tilted your head up and saw the sky full of stars.

           “The night sky is beautiful.” You said, he looked at you. He thought of how ridiculous it was to say such things when you were obviously the most beautiful thing in this world right now. But he nodded, humming in response.

           “Hey Tsukishima.”

           He looked at you, your cheeks were pink as your eyes stared at him as if he was something admirable. He would always note at how you would stare at something, if you loved that thing or if you disliked it. And right now you held something in your eyes that would make him shy away.

           “I like you.”

           His heart stopped beating for a second as he stared at you with wide eyes, you giggled at his frozen state and cupped his cheeks as you scooted closer to him then you pressed your lips on his gently. It took him moments to finally realize that he wasn’t dreaming and that you did confess to him and you were kissing him right now. He placed his hands on your hips and kissed you back softly.

           You both pulled away and you gave him a gentle smile. He sighed and pulled you into a hug as you buried his face into the crook of your neck inhaling your intoxicating scent.

           “we’re in a band you know.” Tsukishima said, noting of how band to band relationships would never work out.

           You just hummed in response.

           “This would probably never work.”

           “Hmmm…”

           “you could get hurt.”

           “If it’s you, I don’t mind.”

           Tsukishima sighed, finally giving in. He gave your neck a light peck as you giggled. The two of you cradled each other as you both had made each other silent vows without actually saying the words. The warmth of each other was enough for now.

           Meanwhile, as the two of you hugged each other for the longest time the four idiots that were peeking through the glass cheered, they had big grins on their faces (yes, even Kageyama) as they watched your sweet exchange. Now Hinata had something to tease Tsukishima about in the morning.

Lan Wangji (mostly, his love)

LAN ZHAN! I read somewhere that this was said 102 times by Wei Wuxian in The Untamed. It feels like an understatement, cause I’ve watched the show so many times now I could hear ‘Lan Zhan’ being called in my sleep...

My first time watching the drama, I was full on Team Xianxian. I mean, who would not be? He’s the central character of the story, he’s the first thing you see within the first few seconds of episode 1, and who could resist his sunflower aura? I was not into Lan Wangji at all. I remember this clearly because I just found an old Instagram story in my Archive on the day I first watched this show: a screenshot of Wangji’s face in episode 3 and my caption was: ‘OMG how could Wei sunshine fall in love with this dry and boring man?’. And just like how Wangji eventually swallowed all of the statements he had made about the young Wei Wuxian (’I don’t touch other people’, ‘We’re not close’, etc.), I am not the same person on that fateful day tuning in the first episode on Netflix. I am now Team Hanguang-Jun through and through!

What I’ve been enjoying so much these days is watching random earlier/later episodes just to compare how Wangji’s attitude changed toward Wei Wuxian over 16 years-ish. It’s probably so obvious for everyone that he definitely falls in love first, even when the drama purposely made their early relationship a lot more intense comparing to the novel i.e. showing Wei Wuxian somewhat feeling the same way about Wangji in his first life, with the constant flirting and mutual pining (don’t even get me started...). Now that I kinda understand what the character is like, it makes a lot of sense the way he processed his feelings for Wuxian in his youth. I wonder how different he would have reacted without the push from the best brother/wingman in the cultivation world - Lan Xichen. Sure, Jiang Cheng had a lot to say about this too, but mostly out of a slight envy (I reckon) over Wuxian’s new subject of desire. But Lan Xichen sees through his brother, and has been pretty much WangXian fanclub admin since day 1. I don’t have a brother, but man, I wish Lan Xichen could be mine.

In my humble opinion, the fact that we were given 3 versions of Wei Wuxian throughout the series kinda gifts us 3 versions of Lan Wangji too in a way - the straight face, the confused heart, and the national boyfriend/husband. Considering the number of times I rewatched the latter half of the series i.e. episode 33 onward, I just want to write down all of my thoughts about the national boyfriend/husband Lan Wangji, and not just because that version seems to have the most lines comparing to the other two.

There are several details that were not explained much in the series (although shown on screen) so I have to read from the novel later on. But oh my god, the stuff I found... I never realized that the scene before Lan Wangji went to Mo’s manor where his guqin was playing behind him standing on the balcony referred to how he used Inquiry to find Wuxian. What Jiang Cheng said to him about having gone to a lot of places for 16 years and searching for someone completely went over my head in the first watch, and imagine how I scratched my brain revisiting that part. That plus ‘oh I’ve never seen you at a cultivation conference before’ in episode 41 - my goodness, because he was spending ALL of his time LOOKING FOR Wei Wuxian.

Another thing I hope would have been addressed in the series was the hot iron mark on his chest. I thought the story of him drinking wine and giving himself a mark identical to Wuxian’s was the prime work of a broken heart. He must have thought about their conversation in Xuanwu cave, about the mark staying on his skin forever and how Wuxian was convinced Mianmian would never forget him. Was that how Wangji was making a point of never forgetting Wei Wuxian? If that scene made into the drama, I would have thought Wangji’s character song Buwang to be play in the background. The lyrics fit the situation so much.

Personally, everything from episode 33 onward was perfection for me, finally getting to see Wangji embrace his feelings and ACT ON THEM toward the romance-blind idiot Wei Wuxian (yes, he totally is). All the caring touches and details played out so astonishingly. One of my favourite (which doesn’t seem to be a popular one since I have not seen many gifs of it on Tumblr) was when, after interrogating Huaisang, Wangji comfortably moved over the other side of the table and picked up Wuxian’s left leg to CLEAN THE EVIL SPELL - think of the level of intimacy this act is! Although that came after the romantic piggyback under the moonlight, I thought that speaks volume for someone who doesn’t even physically interact with his family members, and serves as a great follow-up right after he, again comfortably, pulled up Wuxian’s trousers to check his leg.

What I thought was always presented so beautifully is every time Wangji serves Wuxian liquor. The way he carefully picks up his sleeve, prepares the cup (I know they’re probably not called ‘cups’ but I can’t find another word), pours the liquor and slides it over to his partner is so well demonstrated and shows how much he wants to properly take care of Wuxian. Would you put so much effort in such a tiny mundane act if you’re not doing it for the most important person in your life? 

In a way, I feel like everything he does is making up for what he could not do the past 16 years, including remembering so many tiny details and keeping all sort of Wuxian-related things. My favourite Wangji keepsake moment, despite being a very short one, is the butterfly talisman at Yunping City which he gave to Wuxian to rescue Wen Ning. I don’t know why that moment makes me really really happy, probably because that was one of the earliest items Wangji could have kept hold of from Wuxian’s. That tells us how way long before he was developing feelings toward this little rebel. Not to mention, we did see Wangji even use this very talisman in episode 11 when he encountered Wen Chao on his way back to Cloud Recesses.

Yes, the ‘I knew he was Wei Ying all along’ while having all the swords pointed at you is highly pivotal as it’s basically the censored version of ‘I love you’. BUT, the moment all leading cultivators of all major and minor clans ran to Burial Mounds just to witness Lan Wangji standing proudly without flinch on the other side with Wei Wuxian makes me appreciate that whole arc a lot more than the big revelation in the last 3 episodes. Wangji ignoring his own Grand Master, Wuxian once again standing against every single person in the cultivation world but with so much confidence this time around - to me, is beyond satisfying. I love this arc so much so I wrote a separate piece about episode 44-45 - if you’re interested in more of my random thoughts, feel free to have a read here.

Thinking about all this, I’m absolutely in awe of how protective national boyfriend Wangji is to Wei Wuxian even before knowing he lost his golden core. They either have insanely accurate GPS, or just really good telepathy. Wangji’s constant attention to his partner (without having to verbally find out where he is) blows my mind every time. Remember how proud Wei Wuxian was having Lan Wangji come out just in time to fight Xue Yang at Coffin Town? That’s how much Wangji’s love and trust empowers Wuxian and makes him so so so secured, even when everyone was walking around in the fog hiding from the most notorious killer and his puppets. 

The one detail that pushed me over the edge completely (thanks a lot Lan Xichen) was the story of Wangji’s mom. Oh my god, baby Wangji sitting in the snow really messes with my head. I cannot believe it took 40 something episodes for us to learn about Wangji’s emotionally damaged upbringing and what shapes him into a stubborn lovebird as we know today. It adds A LOT more context and sadness to his famous phrase ‘bring a man back to Cloud Recesses and hide him’, as well as Lan Qiren’s statement ‘have you not learned from your father’s lesson’. I revisit the ‘bring back and hide him’ scene with a completely new perspective and can sense Wangji’s pain and confusion that Xichen described. The desperation in that statement of Wangji was a lot heavier in my eyes now that I understand the back story. If I were Wei Wuxian listening to all of that from Lan Xichen, I would probably have a meltdown right there at the doorsteps of the Silence Room.

Now we all know the source of inspiration of the infamous ‘I want to bring a man to Cloud Recesses. Bring him back and hide him’ in episode 25:

So after all of Xichen’s effort in telling Wuxian how Wangji actually feels about him through the tear-jerker story about their parents, Wei Wuxian STILL asked Lan Wangji WHY he was willing to seal Bichen and his own spiritual power so that Jin Guangyao would not hurt him. This dense man, of course, brought up the guilt card i.e. ‘Oh you don’t owe me anything’. I mean COME ON NOW YILING PATRIARCH! CAN YOU ACTUALLY BE THAT OBLIVIOUS WHEN IT COMES TO THE MAN THAT TOOK 300 LASHES ON HIS BACK FOR PROTECTING YOUR LEGACY? 

I know it went the other way in the novel, where the big confession happened. Maybe a bite from Fairy could do you some good, or just talk to Lan Xichen some more and then you can start appreciating your soulmate the way he deserves.

The silver lining after being deprived of an epic love confession is everything that happened in episode 50. It might have not been spelling-it-out clear as in ‘I love you’ ‘I love you too’ because of the government censorship, but it’s easily the most obvious yet emotional type of ending the production team has worked to hard to deliver. Good to know Wei Wuxian has the rest of his life making up to Lan Wangji. Everyday means everyday, because Wangji deserves THAT much!

Description: I have been wanting to write this for a while! This is based off the song Because I had you and will be two parts in two different point of views. One point of view is who the song was written about the girl Shawn was in love with, and the second point of view is told from the girl after her the one he say’s might help him forget but he could never love her in comparison.

 You were sitting in your apartment with your boyfriend who was doing the dishes after you had a night out together with a bunch of friends, you were scrolling through your phone when your timeline started to blow up.

BECAUSE I HAD YOU WOW 

imagine being the girl shawn dates next after hearing because I had you lmao

 You were confused as to what they were talking about since you and Shawn had broken up months ago. You had followed a bunch of his fans when you were dating and would never unfollow them no matter how much they tweeted about him. You type in Shawn’s name to the search bar something you weren’t use to doing, his new album had just dropped at midnight. Curious to see why everyone was mentioning you in a specific song you open apple music and type in his name once again. You had heard his first single release of Lost In Japan and you were proud of him and were excited to hear the rest, even though you didn’t end up working out you would still always support him. 

 You click on the song turning the volume down slightly as you hear his familiar voice play through the speaker, 

I think it’s time that I be honest 

Should’ve told you not to go 

You felt your jaw drop slightly at hearing the lyrics and basically bringing you immediately back to the last time you had saw him. You listen on carefully and you then open safari on your phone looking up the lyrics, wanting to not miss a word. You read in shock still listening to his voice at how descriptive he actually got in the song, the story it’s self nobody would know just how accurate it was when you broke up.  

‘‘Is that his new song?’‘ You hear your boyfriend ask from behind you. You turn your head and look at him with sympathy, compared to Shawn your current boyfriend lived the most ordinary of lives. You met a few months after you and Shawn had broke up and despite caring about how people would see it you fell for him almost instantly, and he fell back not caring that paparazzi were still following you around taking note on everything you did. 

 ‘’Yeah, sorry people just started tweeting and I wanted to listen,’’ You say and he comes over sitting down next to you on the couch putting his arm around you. ‘’I’m sorry,’’ You say feeling the need to express it again. 

‘‘You don’t have to apologize, you’re a curious person,’‘ He says simply. He wasn’t wrong and so you both sit in silence and keep listening. 

You’re with somebody I can’t be 

But I can tell that you’re happy 

  You glance over at him his face hard not in anger but just not showing much emotion. He had a lot of insecurities when you began dating, he felt like he would never live up to ‘’The Shawn Mendes’’ it was ridiculous to you but you could understand why he felt that way. You did your best to assure him you were over Shawn and you were but you didn’t expect for him to release a song so personal, so accurate to the actual events. 

FLASHBACK

  You walk into your and Shawn’s shared hotel room, you had both been quiet the entire ride back the tension was thick the entire way home. You were tired of always following Shawn around, and even though you could stay home being away from him at the time seemed to feel so much longer than what it was. I sigh looking over to him, ‘’I don’t know if I can keep doing this Shawn,’’ You say to him. 

‘‘Doing what?’‘ He says the hurt laced through his voice. 

‘‘I can’t just keep following you around Shawn, I love you and you know I do but I don’t think I can keep up.’‘ You tell him truthfully. The lifestyle seemed so glamorous from far away but when it was close up it wasn’t all that great. It was long nights away from family and friends, it was not knowing what state you were in and trying to figure out the next time you’d be home to see your sister. ‘‘I have a degree I haven’t even put to use Shawn,’‘ You explain to him. 

��‘’So you want to leave?’’ He asks you. 

‘‘I want to settle down somewhere yes,’‘ You tell him. You watch as he kicks his food against the table, ‘‘I thought that I could handle it all, being away from my family but I don’t think I can.’‘ 

 He sighs running his hand through his hair, ‘’Tour is almost over we can get a bigger place together-’’ He tries to say. 

‘‘That’s not what I mean Shawn!’‘ You yell at him and he goes completely silent. ‘‘What’s gonna happen when you have another tour? Am I just suppose to pack everything back up?’‘ You ask him. 

‘‘You know you don’t have to come with me,’‘ He explains. 

‘‘If I want to ever see you yes I do! If I want to be able to spend time with you then I have to come.’‘ You say sternly.

 ‘’Am I not worth that?’’ He screams, his voice going raw, ‘’You don’t think I know how hard it is?’’ He says disbelief in his voice. 

‘‘Shawn,’‘ You say sincerely, ‘‘I love you so much,’‘ You say a sob making it’s way out your throat, ‘‘But you can’t hate me for not wanting this for myself, I want to go home to the same place every night. I want to get a career and maybe go back to school,’‘ You try and explain. 

 ‘’I’m not mad, I just thought that it was you and me,’’ He says and you felt your heartbreak to see him so distraught. 

 ‘’I should go,’’ You say to him, and he sits on the couch not saying a word. You walk in front of him bending down placing one last kiss on his cheek, ‘’I am sorry, I love you.’’ You tell him as the tears stream down your face. 

 You quickly walk to the door of the hotel, your luggage hadn’t been delivered yet so you were going to see if you could get it from downstairs. You open the door hearing the click, you stop standing at the door to turn and see if Shawn would try and stop you. You hated to admit it but if he asked you knew you’d stay, you watch as his head is buried in his hands. You take the step out of the door way hurrying down the hall, you reach your hand up wiping the stream of tears that had kept falling. He gave you all the trust, all of his heart and you did the one thing you promised you never would; you broke it. 

END OF FLASHBACK

 After a the song ended you sat your phone down and talked with your boyfriend assuring him that this was the place you wanted to be. Once he went to bed you stayed up and decided to scroll through your phone, you read as the tweets kept coming in about various songs on the album. You kept scrolling and find a few tweets talking about a girl

Damn Shawn shouldn’t have started dating someone else if he isn’t over his last girl I mean...

 Shawn was dating someone else? You quickly opened up safari once again and look up ‘’Shawn girlfriend’’ Into the search bar and quickly many pictures and articles filled up the screen, of Shawn and a beautiful girl. You didn’t feel any jealousy at all toward the situation, you only felt empathy for the girl. What did she think of the song? Had he told her about you? 

 You look up her Instagram and scroll through her pictures, some of them had Shawn in them but not a lot. They didn’t seem to have been dating that long but you knew if she heard the song it would hurt, you hoped Shawn would have given her a warning at least. 

 You had contemplated messaging her telling her how sorry you were about the song, but it wasn’t your fault it was Shawn’s he should be apologizing to her not you. You still felt a pang of guilt that you had set this up for her, you had broke him and left her to pick up the pieces, and that was something that sat heavy on your shoulders. 

 You get up off the couch walking to your room wanting nothing more than to go to bed, you get into bed and lay there a few moments staring at the ceiling, your boyfriend rolls over and pulls you into him and you fell asleep quickly, thinking about the other girl and how she must feel to be told that he wouldn’t love her all because he couldn’t get over you.

“Are they together now, or something?”

“What the hell, when did that happen?”

“Aw, hell no, not Namjoon, man, I was so close.”

I narrowed my eyes to myself at the last comment straight from JK’s mouth. Talk about a player. He’d been flirting with me a lot recently, but I’d never found it difficult to refuse him. Not when my heart was with the boy I’d grown up with.

Namjoon tensed slightly when he heard JK speak, and I gripped his hand tighter, reassuring him that whatever happens, tonight nothing is going to take me away from you.

I waved to the man behind the counter and he smiled, calling out to an employee to take us to the room I’d booked. We entered, first Namjoon, then me, then the rest of them.

I pulled Namjoon to the most comfortable-looking armchair, which was big enough to seat both of us, albeit a little too close to each other. Namjoon finally pulled off his unzipped jacket and I distinctly heard one of the girls say, ‘holy shit’. I bit my lip to hide my smile. Everyone settled down as the employee took a mic and greeted us. He went through his procedure briefly.

“I think the first song of the night should go to the birthday girl, right?” He asked enthusiastically. I chuckled as everyone cheered. Namjoon grasped my hand and nodded. I stood up, straightening my shirt and took the mic from the employee.

“I’m sorry, but tonight is Random Play night,” he whispered to me. “Songs are selected by the machine, so…just pray you get one you know.”

I sighed deeply and nodded at him. He went behind the screen into a small room where his equipment was stored. I waited for a beat before hearing music.

The tune was a snappy one, and I thanked my lucky stars, because great, I know this song. I caught Namjoon’s grin once he recognized it and he started laughing, because he remembered how long I’d been singing this when it came out. Hey, what can I do, I’d said to him. It’s so catchy.

“You know just what to say, things that scare me, I should just walk away, but I can’t move my feet…” I sang out (horribly, too, because maybe I forgot to mention, I can’t sing that well), my eyes fixed on the screen displaying the lyrics, though I didn't really need them. “Something inside me’s changed, I was so much younger yesterday…”

By then everyone else had started clapping to the beat.

“I didn’t know that I was starving ‘til I tasted you, don’t need no butterflies when you give me the whole damn zoo…” On an impulse, I turned to Namjoon and sang to him, his eyes going a bit wide and looking around quickly at the rest of them. I shook my head and pointed to myself, telling him to focus on me. He leaned forward, his elbows resting on his knees in mock attention. I smiled.

“You know just how to make, my heart beat faster, emotional earthquake, bring on disaster…” I couldn’t believe how accurate the lyrics were right now. I don’t know whether my face betrayed my emotions, but for some reason, Namjoon’s smile had faded, replaced with a look of confusion. “You hit me head on, got me weak in my knees, yeah something inside me’s changed, I was so much younger yesterday…hm…”

I avoided looking at him for the rest of the song and once I’d finished, everyone clapped. My eyes fell on my roommate and she was smirking broader than I’d ever seen. It’s lucky it’s dark, I thought, a Harry Potter quote popping into my head. I haven’t blushed so much since Madam Pomfrey told me she liked my new earmuffs.

I plopped down into my seat and Namjoon shifted uncomfortably.

“You did well,” he said quietly as a new song began to play and Tae jumped up to snatch the mic before JK could. I paid no attention to them.

“I did?” I asked. He nodded and I leaned against his shoulder. I felt his body tensing under the pressure and my hand found his, fingers intertwining. “Thank you for coming, Joon-ah,” I whispered. His thumb ran over my knuckles absentmindedly, choosing not to respond to what I said.

I don’t remember much else about who sang what for the rest of the night. I only remember the terrible duet that my roommate sang with her boyfriend and at one point, when JK was singing (boy can sing, damn), he wiggled his eyebrows suggestively and beckoned for me to join him where the rest of his girlfriends were dancing. I shook my head and shooed him away, instead linking my arm with Namjoon’s. JK only glanced at Joon, shrugged and then waltzed away. Or grinded away, I should say.

The entire time, Joon and I were talking about all sorts of things, from previous birthdays to childhood memories to books to art, but carefully avoiding the concept of crushes. I barely realized the night was over.

“Let’s get the birthday girl on her feet again to wrap up tonight, shall we?” our faithful employee boomed. I sighed, rolling my eyes and stood up again. Once I’d planted my feet on the raised platform, I looked back at Joon and gestured for him to come up. He shook his head.

“Come on, Joon,” I spoke accidentally through the mic. “You haven’t sung anything all night.”

“It might not be a duet,” he countered, pointing at the screen.

“What does it matter?” I retorted. “Please, Joon, you’ve never passed up the chance to sing before.” I could hear the gears revolving in his head as he tried to decide, but finally, with a heavy groan, he stood up.

               I flashed a thumbs-up to the employee. The smooth strains of a song filled the room and I gasped in delight as I realized which song it was.

“Am I out of my head? Am I out of my mind? If you only knew the bad things I like,” I sang out confidently, earning a chuckle from my roommate. “Don't think that I can explain it, What can I say, it's complicated…”

               I hitched my breath as I suddenly remembered that the male part of this duet was a rap. Aw hell, I thought. What have I dragged Joon into? This is all my fault.

               I saw Namjoon gripping the mic tightly in both of his hands. The beat dropped.

               “Nothing's that bad, If it feels good, So you come back, Like I knew you would.”

               My mouth dropped open as I witnessed the scene unfolding in front of me. I stared at Namjoon as he let go of his insecurity and got down on that beat, like holy shit, this dude can RAP.

“And we're both wild, And the night's young. And you're my drug,

Breathe you in 'til my face numb, Drop it down to that bass drum

I got what you dream 'bout, Nails scratchin' my back tatt, Eyes closed while you scream out

And you keep me in with those hips, While my teeth sink in those lips

While your body's giving me life, And you suffocate in my kiss, Then you said-“

The room fell silent, hushed, listening to him. His voice wasn’t well suited to sing, but it was perfect for this.

               “I want you forever, Even when we're not together

               Scars on my body so I can take you wherever like

                I want you forever, Even when we're not together

               Scars on my body I can look at you whenever…”

                 I was too busy trying to wrap  my mind around this new discovery that I didn’t even realize it was my turn to sing. Joon smacked me on the head.

               “Oh crap, If you only knew the bad things I like, Don't think that I can explain it, What can I say, it's complicated,” I sang, dazed, struggling to get back in tune.

               “I can't explain it, I love the pain

                And I love the way your breath, Numbs me like novocaine…”

               My roommate stood up and whistled, I’m telling you, she whistled. Then hell broke loose, you could barely hear him rapping over the cheers of the girls and the boys’ impressed yells.

               “Let me paint the picture, Couch by the kitchen

                Nothin' but your heels on, Losin' our religion

               You're my pretty little vixen, And I'm the voice inside your head

               That keeps telling you to listen to all the bad things I say…”

               “Namjoon-ah,” I breathed.

                         “I want you forever even when we’re not together,” both of us sang at the bridge in the song. Namjoon’s hand reached out to grab my waist and he pulled me toward him. Whoa, where was this confidence coming from? “Scars on your body so I can take you forever…”

               “Am I out of my head, am I out of my mind? If you only knew the bad things I like…So good, that you can’t explain it, what can I say, it’s complicated…”

               The music died out and my friends all began cheering wildly and making a huge ruckus.

               In the middle of that disaster, we locked eyes.

               “Y/N…” he began, but I cut him off.

               “Namjoon-ah,” I whispered. “Just kiss me.”

               I didn’t need to ask twice. His lips melted against mine, moving smoothly, and I felt like I was in paradise. A warm tingling sensation coursed through my body as his hand found the back of my neck and gripped tightly, pulling me closer. My hands rested on his abdomen and I relished the firmness that was there.

               We broke apart, gasping a little, and I felt the stares of nine people on us, but I didn’t care. Right now, we were in our own little bubble and come what may, I wasn’t about to let anything break it.

               I vaguely heard my roommate letting out an exaggerated ‘yes!’ but all my senses were focused only on Namjoon.

               “How long?” He asked me quietly.

               “A damn long time,” I replied. “How long?”

               He blushed. “Forever.” He engulfed me in his arms and kissed my forehead. “Forever.”

why is it that since I got requests I have just gone a bit AWOL? i’m sorry, it has been a few days since I posted and it’s been me and my headspace right now- i’m spacey. i hope you like this though, and of course it had to be the artist that it is, if you know anything about me this is who I personally am in love with right now (music and person wise). 

if you requested something from me it is coming! i promise I haven’t forgotten about it (entirely) and they will all be done before wednesday as that is when i’m at reading festival for almost a week.

Unable to get the lyrics out of my head I find myself tapping on the keyboard, my foot bouncing to the rhythm and soon enough I am singing the words under my breath. I can’t stop myself from going online and straight to Twitter where many of my bizarre thoughts lie filled with numbers from others in agreement or sheer curiosity. 

cannot get the song ‘In the Middle’ by dodie out of my head! the lyrics to ‘intertwined’ are something else #obsessed 

Immediately I see lots of responses in agreement, some from pages dedicated to the singer and others recommending me other songs. The known smile forms on my face as my screen goes dark, giving me the chance to see my reflection before it turns itself back on and becomes flooded with life. Twitter is one of those platforms where you can just talk to anyone, I’ve been lucky enough to connect with various artists through Twitter, have them praise my lyrics and even ask for my help with producing a song or two for their albums or EPs. 

My job isn’t the easiest, it can be challenging at times, but it pays off when you can hear it on the radio, or talked about online; just like dodie’s is. I sit for a while and scroll through the tweets change in my mentions and focus around someone besides dodie, instead they focus around Bastille. 

Leaning in closer to my laptop I analyse their comments; ‘omg dan loves her work!’ ‘shit you know her too? dan was tweeting about her the other day’ ‘@bastilledan another reason why you two could be super cute together’ they all differed in opinions, but they all kept mentioning him and me along with dodie. Seems like I am the one in the middle this time. 

Part of me wanted to see if he’d respond too, if he even knew who I was. I’ve worked with bands like his, but none of them have ever been as unique as Bastille is. Their lyrics hit you somewhere unknown inside, they delve through all the hidden and buried emotions, bringing them to the surface for four minutes at a time. They are a reminder at times of what we should value, what can easily be lost when we least expect it. Eventually I give up on waiting, I leave my phone at my desk and go to my music room and work on some lyrics knowing that I have a meeting with a new musician in a few days. 

A few hours had passed and I had barely been able to get anything done, the jitters over Dan were settling as curiosity was consuming me and ruining my creative abilities. I kept telling myself to just test these lyrics with these notes, but it was no use. Sitting I stare at the blank notebook, nothing achieved due to my phone calling my name, whispering possibilities in the other room. “Oh fuck it.” I mumble to myself as I rush to my phone as if my life depends on it. 

Scrolling through the masses of notifications to do with the three of us I see one that catches my eye and makes me smile. ‘EeeeeEkkkk it’s you! you like my music??? I listened to your work for YEARS l o l <3′ dodie, a true sweetheart. Shifting my focus from dodie I can feel my heart pause until I see it, until my eyes can find it fast enough for everything to resume. 

‘I wasn’t sure if anyone else really knew of her for the music she does? good to know you love her too!’ ‘as much as I admire her talent, instrumental is a great piece of music, don’t you agree?’ 

I glanced over his words, the words he had aimed at me to read and respond to. Fans immediately got on board, responding, freaking out and fanning their hearts out; which is exactly what I wanted to do, but no I am going to keep my cool. It’s only Dan Smith, an incredibly talented musician and lyricist. Only.

We talked back and forth via tweets, dodie along with others unable to keep up with the excitement of fellow people within the music realm discussing her work, but it was getting to that point where fans were suffocating. Suffocating is that point where the meaning of the conversation is lost in the feed of fans losing their shit, those who love bastille favouring or protecting them/Dan from wanting to speak to me. 

Rolling my eyes I just went to DM him instead, knowing it would be easier in some aspects, but more difficult to not mess it up. After a few messages were exchanged I eased into it more, we both did. Our conversation slowly moved away from dodies music, towards the direction of my own- specifically my writing process and how it is to write for others and not so much myself. 

‘Writing for myself is always a personal thing, some songs I write and I know I can’t share it or give it to someone else to release. Most things I write I tailor for them specifically, I work with them to get the best result rather than put myself in them, I put them in me- not literally obviously!’ 

Why did I send that, it sounded so rare and professional, but like always I cocked it up. 

‘No no, I see where you’re coming from. There are so many songs I wrote and published, but I never perform them, really talk about them. Sometimes I wonder what if I did? What if I were willing to perform them again? But it was before Bastille, that was when I was just ‘Dan Smith’ and it doesn’t seem like the right thing to do.’ 

‘As if it is outdated?’

‘I think it is and isn’t. Some music can be timeless.’

‘Like The Beatles?’ 

‘Yes, but also the likes of Kendrick Lamar.’

‘So you’re an in between then? Somewhere along the scale of being too caught up recent affairs and stuck in the past?’

‘Unfortunately so. But how come you’ve never published under you, as in become an artist and not just lyricist?’

I lean back in my chair as I read over the message. It’s not something I’ve been asked for years, my parents enquired why I wouldn’t do it myself, but I felt too vulnerable in my young adulthood. Now it is a different story, but I just don’t think I could do it. 

‘Conformity, pressure, the stress. When I write a band or an artist a song that is my role done, I get the contract, I write the songs and I get paid. I hear it and my name is written legally as the lyricist, but I have no other ties that are so severe. It prevents me from getting overly exposed, risk of being watched 24/7. I’m just afraid to try really.’ 

He doesn’t respond for a while unlike before. Maybe that was too much, a bit too honest for someone he doesn’t really know besides the work I produce for others. I resume my work as I listen to the rain beating down against my window, trying its hardest to fight through the glass with little success. Now I find myself humming his songs, not dodies. I tap my pen and play a few notes that I can remember off of the top of my head. Interrupting my moment of distraction my phone goes off, he’s back. 

‘Would you like to meet up with me sometime? It may seem a little forward, but I would love to discuss music, possibly working on something together. Only if you’re comfortable doing so. I’ve heard your work, as in your work when you did a few videos prior to writing for others. I didn’t know how to tell you that without sounding like a creep, but I would love to see that person, only if you’ll let me?’ 

My mind wanders back to those years when I would set up my brothers camera on a stack of books as I played on my piano with a small microphone by me to hear my voice above the piano. I forgot I had those uploaded, now no one really knows about it as it remains hidden in the depths of the internet, yet somehow he found it. He actually watched my 19 year old self nervously introduced myself and the song before that part of me melted away into the song. It was an offer to get back into that, to reopen that side of my music that has not been truly revisited for years. 

Glancing over to my notebook, to the second one that is filled messily with tea stains, small doodles and hundreds upon hundreds of lyrics I compare it to the neat, carefully colour coded organised one that I use for other artists and not myself. I used to have fun writing songs, but of late I’ve lost the heart to it. 

Licking my lips I sit behind my piano and envision myself again, that part of me I loved. I close my eyes and my fingers naturally find the keys that I memorised, my mouth opens and the lyrics are still there, despite being shrouded in multiple songs since. It was the first song I truly wrote, the one that I was actually proud to call my own that only few have seen online; Dan being one of those few. 

I reach over for my phone, wanting to thank him for a reminder of why I write music. That sometimes you need to just re-evaluate what is happening around you, to go back to what you know in order to keep creating music. 

‘That sounds like a plan, thank you Dan. It may seem odd, but having a small conversation with you I feel as if I have rediscovered my music. It’s something that is easier to explain in person. How is next week?’ 

As I send the message I can’t wipe the smile, it differs from the smile for the fans on Twitter. It is one of giddiness, of excitement for what is to come with my music, with meeting the musician and lyricist who has lived in the same boat I have for possibly longer. Fans still conspire amongst themselves about our absences, so I leave them wondering with a tweet to an old song of mine.

She was amazing. - YoonA said she told her manager about this birthday party from March. She told him she'll do it no matter what. - YoonA said she was counting how many days left for this birthday party recently. "I was at the waiting room, feeling nervous (of conducting bday party) even though it's already my 3rd time." - YoonA, "Because of drama shooting, I couldn't prepare a lot of things for this birthday party, unfortunately. Therefore, I would like to have a lot of conversations with you today." - YoonA, "I wanted to do what you want me to do, and many said they want to see me sing. That's why I opened the party with the song." - Before cake cutting, YoonA, "Should I wear bunny headband or sunglasses? I guess you'd prefer bunny, right?" then put it on. - YoonA, "I told manager oppa that I'll hold birthday party, because I had overseas schedule but didn't have many local schedules. Therefore I thought Korean fans might feel sad about it. That's why I wanted to hold this birthday party (for you). Q&A Portion

Q1: How many times did you watch 'Confidential Assignment'? I believe you look so natural in the movie even for you. “It was really fun shooting the movie. It was my first movie, and fortunately I met a lot of good sumbaenim and staffs. I wanted to start my movie career with this sort of role, not the main role. I think I chose the right one. Compared to my previous ones, I acted different for this role. I did it more comfortably. I still keep in touch with a lot of actors/actresses until now. Oh, and about the scenes which draw a lot of laughter, many of them were actually ad-lib. E.g., there was a scene which Minyoung told Chullyung 'My room is here.' I thought she would say like that so I added it. It wasn't planned, but I think the director thought it was funny, so he included the scene. Also, the scene which MY and her unnie talking about unnie's husband (played by Yoo Haejin), I added the line 'Yeah, you should've cared more about the appearance when choosing your husband. I was really surprised.' Director said the line is really funny, so he included that one, too. That whole conversation had a lot of ad-libs.”

Fans asked about the most famous scene, 'Do you still love that woman?' was also an ad-lib. YoonA said that script was planned.

“The scene MY watch CY on the news and being hit by her unnie was planned, but the line 'Wow he's so cool!' was an ad-lib. It was really fun shooting the movie. I'm glad many fans like it. Thanks.”

Q2: Hair style or color which you want to do someday? "I guess many fans are really interested in my hair." then laughed. "My hair isn't growing, it's more like getting cut every day." Fans went silent. YA, "You don't have to look that sad." laughed. "I bleached my hair 4 or 5 times when doing Party promo, and after that my hair got weaker. But I don't regret doing it at all because it was really satisfying. I heard that many fans like my black hair? But dark black is not my favorite color, unfortunately." Fans shouted, "YoonA is meondeul" (Whatever YoonA does, you're awesome), then YoonA suddenly started laughing. "Actually I said the same line while shooting movie. Then they trolled me by saying "Oh, so you're meondeul? Hey meondeul!” “For my hair, I want it to be long. And the color, I don't like too fancy one, dark brown might be my choice as of now.” YoonA asked fans, "Which style do you prefer?" Fans said "Everything!" YA replied, "Though you say so now, I know you'd complain! Even though I dyed my hair once, my hair got cut so fast it almost feel like I dyed again." then laughed.

YoonA: "Why did you guys write about Ooh-La-La so much?" Fans shouted "Because it's 10th anni!" YoonA: "Then we should talk about ITNW?" Fans shouted: "We want to see you doing narration on the song!" YoonA laughed, said "I can't even remember it." Then YoonA laughed weakly, said "I just remember the line after I said I can't even remember it." Fans laughed. Fans shouted "Please sing Top-T-O, too!" YoonA, "What is Top-T-O?" Fans, "Top Secret-Trick-Oscar." YoonA: "OK, I'd suggest the idea. If one of those songs are included in the future concert, please remember it's because of my work!"

Q3: Your favorite nickname? And have you tried ticketing for your own birthday party? "Is ticketing for Yoong Party tough?" Fans said yes. YoonA: "Good." Fans laughed. YoonA: "Makes me feel like I'm popular." laughed. "I haven't done the ticketing. I thought about doing it in a bigger venue, but it's hard for me to be the exception." YoonA jokingly added, "And what if the seats aren't full (when I hold the party at a bigger venue)?" then laughed. "My favorite nicknames are 'Dre-Yoong' and 'Yoong-phrodite'. Describing me with dress on, I really love them. I also like the simple one such as 'Yoongyi'. "I think it's time to say goodbye to nicknames such as 'Him-YoonA', 'Deer', 'Lim-Choding'" then laughed. But, if many fans still want to call me like that, it's OK. "You can call me meondeul" then laughed.

Q4: Do you know your aegyo video is still being played on Weekly Idol? "I know! I should've done it better if I knew it were going to be played like that! "Perhaps I should collect my appearance fee for that." then laughed. "I'm curious about the reaction when they watch the clip, so I search for it. It's funny." then laughed.

Q5: Role you want to do in the future, and the one that you like the most so far? "I know what you want me to do. The character should be born rich, a bit sassy. Or, her job requires license, such as doctor." Fans roared. "Cop? Well, we have Kang Sojoo for that, she looks so natural with it. I actually received two scrips yesterday and one of them was born rich, though I didn't read it carefully just yet. When I looked at the script, I thought 'Well, fans would like the role if I do it.'" then laughed.

Actually, my favorite dramas are 'Discovery of romance', 'I need a romance', and 'Oh Haeyoung Again'. I'd like to do a romantic comedy like that, though I don't have any particular character in my mind. But, I don't like the horror one."

Q6: Do you have anything curious about SONE? "I got a lot of questions for you, but the problem is, when I ask you something, you always say 'Everything!'. Such as, 'Which style do you prefer?' then you say 'Everything!'. It's always like that!" then laughed."

OK, then. When I'm thinking of you, which thought and feeling you want me to have?" Fans jokingly said, "Everything!" YoonA replied, "You can't say everything on this question." So fans shouted a lot of things, such as "Happiness", "Reassuring", "Resting place", etc. YoonA listened every single thing carefully.

Q7: You've been our happiness for 10 years. To you, what are we? "I actually thought about it and put it on the letter I gave you before the party. Consistently cheering for me for 10 years, that's not easy. I can be myself because you've been here. I feel so grateful. Put it simply, you're the one who made myself now. I got a lot of strength by reading your comments."

Q8: What do you feel when you act 'San'? "It's tough, but also fun. Historical drama is the first for me, but I didn't feel much problem. Tough part is, since it's being filmed in various places, manager oppa has to drive a lot. I feel sorry for him."

Q9: Which smartphone game do you play recently? "Recently, not much. But there is a game I'm playing now. It's 'Swipe Breaking Bricks'. First time I saw manager oppa playing it, I said 'Why do you play such a game?'. But now I'm playing it. It's addictive.” (Link for the game: here)

Q10: How was your feeling when you filmed 'Give Me A Meal'? Fans shouted, "Highest ratings!" YoonA replied, "Yes, right. Thanks to you who watched it, I felt very proud. It was really fun. To be honest, I didn't expect to be rejected that many times." then laughed. "But I actually liked it. I know some fans felt sorry for me, but those things make better TV. Since I didn't film the variety for long, it was so good. And I was really hungry, I ate quite a lot." then laughed. "They didn't let me eat anything before that. I received some snacks from kids in the town, but staffs didn't let me eat them."

Q11: When do you feel your love towards SONE the most? YoonA without hesitation, "When you give me food, and when you say my pics on IG don't look worn out." Fans laughed. YoonA complained cutely, "Well, I found others' pics look as worn out as mine. You're especially harsh on me!" Fans laughed.

Then YoonA explained to fans why certain pics can't avoid being looked worn out. She was really cute lol. "And why do you dislike pic with frame on?" Fans replied, "We want to see you big." YoonA: “Then you can zoom in!"

Fans asked YoonA to take a pic closer. YoonA, "Ah, it's very hard to make cute face and take a pic myself. It's embarrassing." Fans, "You're pretty as you are." Q13: Do you like the color of the wristband of Yoong Party? "Wristband? Oh, that one. It feels like we're in the club together. Don't take it off when you go home. I heard you had to take a proof shot for Sunny's birthday because you lost the game. She's really good at games. I wrote one for Sunny's birthday party game, and I think I wrote it way too easy. I didn't know it'd be used like that."

Q14: When will your solo album release? "Actually I have a song to release, but since I'm shooting drama recently, I have to concentrate it first. So I'll work on it after finishing drama shooting. I want to put my voice on the song of which style I like. It's a fan service for you, and also for me." then laughed.

It's not an album, just a Station song. So there's not gonna be any promotion for it. I'm planning on writing lyrics of the song together with other writers."

Q15: I found you have similar clothes, so what is your criteria when choosing them? YoonA firmly said, "I know what you mean when you say 'similar clothes', but each and every one is different." Fans laughed.

“I don't have any particular criteria. I just think about the time and places when selecting which outfit I should wear. But I do like the simple style. Perhaps that's why my wardrobe looks rather limited. I know which style suits me well, and I think my stylist knows it, too but sometimes we feel like trying something different. I wish fans don't get stressed too much (about my clothes). You know what I mean."

Q17: What do you want to do with fans the most for SNSD's 10th anniversary? "I want to ask you back. Which one do you want to do with us?" Fans shouted lots of things, including reality show.

Q18: Do you still feel difficult on running social medias? YoonA said quietly, "No, but if I do this, you say something, and if I do that, you say something..." Fans laughed. YoonA continued quietly: "But it's not difficult. I'm doing great and I'll keep doing it." Fans cheered. Q19: Which role among the ones you played is your favorite so far? YoonA asked back to us, "Which one do you like the best?" Fans shouted various roles. "I think when San comes out, you will lover her quite a lot."

Q20: How about singing Ooh-La-La, Etude, and My Child for 10th anniversary concert? "Since so many fans requested Ooh-La-La, I'm thinking about actually doing it." Fans roared.

"But first, I should persuade unnies. And I believe they will hate the idea, saying 'Why do we sing Ooh-La-La!!'" then laughed.

"But it's gonna be fun. I should do it. We don't need to dance the choreo, though, right?" Fans complained. "You know, (unnies) won't like to practice choreo." Fans, "But it's 10th anniversary!" YoonA weakly said, "Oh, you're right."

Q21: When you did pre-election voting, why did you wear normal clothes while other actors wore drama outfits? "We agreed to do the vote after lunch. I already changed clothes when I went to eat lunch, but other actors didn't. They said they'll vote with drama outfits on. I wanted to change it again but it was quite far, so I couldn't."

Q22: How do you feel about younger girls? Hmm, I don't know why you ask this question to me. I like dongsaengs. At this point, one fan shouted "Then date me!" YoonA burst out laughing when she heard it.

"I got my way to read others', though. I tag my staffs when posting pics, so I can go to their accounts by the tags. And if someone told me fans posted something, then I search it and go to the account to see it. Yes, I'm telling you now to post a lot of things (about me)." then laughed.

"If I expand followings more than SNSD members, is it OK for you?" Fans said yes. YoonA, "OK, then I'll start following others. Q31: To you, which choreo is the coolest / toughest among SNSD's. "You know the answer for the latter one, right?" Fans all said, "CMIYC" YoonA, "Yes, right." then sighed heavily. “And the coolest one is, to me, it's Karma Butterfly. Idea of using chairs was cool, and the song was also great. Other SNSD members love it, too. When we did SMT concert, we asked staffs for letting us perform Karma Butterfly but we couldn't. I think it's the coolest. And it has SNSD's vibe. I think Genie and Hoot are typical SNSD-esque songs, and KB has it, too. But I like CMIYC and IGAB, too.”

“Problem is, I haven't danced for a while. Speaking of dancing, I remember funny episode with Hyoyeon unnie. "To me, liquors with strong smell, such as soju, whiskey, etc. are difficult. But wine is fine. Especially red wine. I love it. I'm thinking about studying wine when I have free times. I'm not a strong drinker but I'm not a weak drinker as some think. Though I have to admit I can't compete with Soolkyu unnie. Yeah, I think there are members who are weaker than me. I think I'm in a higher tier. At least that's what I like to believe. You know, we got 'Al-Sseu' (person who is very weak at alcohol), right?" then laughed. "Mostly, our members like the atmosphere, not alcohol itself. So I want to study more about wine when I have some time off."

6th topic: Golf YoonA, "Recently, people I met constantly told me that I should play golf. At first, I considered golf is for elder people, but I was wrong. Nowadays, many (young) people also play it. So I thought about learning golf, but I couldn't make time to do it. But I want to learn it someday. Since I'm not an active person, I think slow sport like golf suits my style. I also like to breathe in fresh air outside. Also, many people can enjoy it together at the same time, I like that part. Even some of SNSD members play it."

Fans asked "Who is the best golfer among SNSD members?" "Actually never seen any of them playing yet. 'How about putting a glass of wine for each and every seat? We all drink and hold drunk bday party!' But the problem is, alcoholic beverage is prohibited in this hall. That's why I couldn't realize it. Oh, and among audience there are certainly underage ones, that's one of the reasons I couldn't do it. After that, I had a hard time thinking of interesting ones. So I thought I'd make the theme as 'interacting with fans'. Then, boom! Sunny's birthday party happened." we all laughed.

8th topic: Game YoonA, "I'm interested in VR. I'm thinking about buying it after finishing drama shoot. There are plenty of games I want to play, not just VR ones. I always wanted to learn 'Winning Eleven' (Pro-Evolution Soccer). Nowadays, when drama shooting gets tougher, I thought about games that I'm going to play, and it made me endure. Speaking of games, I know I talked a lot about Sunny unnie today, but I have to do it again." then laughed.

"When we visited Vietnam recently, I asked Sunny unnie about VR, since she already owns one. She said it's really interesting. Then Sunny unnie said she also got Nintendo Switch, suddenly took it out and bragged, said 'You need to play Nintendo here.' So I asked her which one is more interesting. Sunny unnie was like, 'Well, it's a different species, you can't pick one.'”

YoonA said the character (San) is quite boyish, yet she doesn't disguise as a man.

About white outfit on the 2nd pic, YA said if she hadn't changed to normal clothes on the early vote day, she would've worn that one.

YoonA, "TKL has total of 20 ep & we're shooting around 16. Many sunbaenim and staffs told me I will gain a lot by doing this drama. Since we have many actors/actresses with similar age, we got a Kakao chat room. We're getting along pretty well. It's fun."

Photo #4 Fourth one was YoonA standing on the guardrail of the bridge with wire on. She wore sky-blue outfit.

YoonA, "It was a wire scene, but it's not like I'm flying or fighting in the air. Just a precautionary purpose. I guess I'm more athletic than I thought. Director said I'm very good at learning martial arts. I got compliment of doing combination work very well especially. I guess practicing choreography has to do something with it. Tough part is, director requested me to do more martial arts scene because he thought I'm quite good at it. I was like, 'Please…'" "I think you can see me doing martial arts as early as episode 3."

Photo #5 Fifth photo was YoonA with Hong Jonghyun. YoonA wore white clothes, and it looked bottom part of the outfit was covered in blood. In the photo, you can see a lot of lamps. YoonA said those lamps look really pretty in real.

YoonA, "Hong is a good actor, and he takes care of me very well. And he also has a very good wit. His character is very cool."

Photo #6 Sixth one had two photos. First one was YoonA wearing sky-blue headband and clothes. Second one was YA wearing light sky-blue dress.

In the 1st pic, YoonA looked boyish, and the 2nd pic she looked more feminine. YoonA, "1st pic was taken in Jeju when I did the first shooting. I believe you will see cute San a lot in the scenes filmed in Jeju. The reason I took the 2nd pic was, I wore skirt for the first time in a long time, I just wanted to leave it as a pic. Problem was, it was inside the car and the bottom part of my body couldn't be shown on the pic. So I just took a selfie. "

Photo #7 Seventh one had three photos. YoonA put a mask on all three of those pics. She's put red blanket on, and eat Hobbang with the mask on.

YoonA, "If you read the original story, you would know that San puts a mask on. There's a reason San puts a mask on. But, it is very inconvenient. When I put it on, because of the moisture, it gets wet. I was putting the mask on and at that time, snack (hobbang) arrived. So I just ate it without taking the mask off. Only thing good about the mask is, it covered my face, sometimes I could sleep without being noticed." then laughed.

Photo #8 Eighth photo was YoonA wearing the same outfit (light sky-blue dress) with 2nd photo of the sixth. But this time, it was a full shot.

YoonA, "I know some fans will complain that the outfit is not fancy compared to other historical dramas, but there's a reason for it. I asked my make-up artist to take a pic of the sky because it's pretty, then she said 'You're prettier.' and took a pic of me."

YoonA, "She is 4 years younger than me, and according to the director, she was cast because she got similar image with me. And more I see her, more I understand what director means. She is so nice, and her voice is very feminine. "Please cheer for her, too. I told her 'When the drama is aired, some will say you're prettier than me, so stay confident.

Im Siwan oppa constantly played tricks. Because of that, he didn't look good on this pic, unfortunately. Both Im and Hong take care of me so well. Always ask my intention first. Both good actors. Such nice guys. Two characters got such different charms, I believe many fans would argue whether San should be with Won or Rin.

YoonA, "It was taken after drama shooting, before we're going home. This pic is not the prettiest, but I love the air, that's why I picked it. We're shooting in a very friendly mood. The situation was, 4 of us including myself finished shooting that day so we're off, but Im had to shoot more. So we're like 'We're done yay!' while Im was like 'Dang I'm not!!'. He even sang a song with his lines, it was so funny."

One of the actresses on the pic was Jang Youngnam, who played the role of YoonA's older sister on Confidential Assignment.

YoonA, "Im said he never had a drama shoot with this many actresses, so he needs to leave it as a photo. That's why we took this one.

- YoonA, “This is the first time I did pre-production drama so it was a new experience for me. I know you loved Minyoung a lot, and I wish you do the same for San. I hope your favorite character (that I played) changes every time I do a new drama or movie."

Actually, Yoongstagram was the last section YoonA prepared. She was going to take a pic with fans and wrap it up. YoonA, "What time is it?" fans, "6" (beginning time) YoonA, "Six? Hey, you guys really surprised me!" we all laughed. It was actually around 8, but fans constantly shouted "6", "5" to make YoonA stay more. So YoonA asked fans, "Do you have more Qs?"

This is why 'additional questions' section was inserted. It wasn't planned. YoonA just wanted to spend more time with fans.

Fan: "Do you have any plan to visit your photo exhibition next week?" YoonA, "As far as I know, there will be two photo exhibition for me, right?" Fans said yes. YoonA, "I know everything." fans laughed.

"Not sure I can be there (because of the drama shoot), but I certainly thought about going there. I was like, 'Should I go there under cover? Or just go there and say hello to everyone?'" then laughed.

YoonA, "Problem is, I don't even know my schedule for tomorrow. Speaking of my schedule, you sent support for me, the coffee car. They said now it's OK (to receive fans' support). Among the support you sent me, hand fans became the most popular one for everybody. Everybody used those hand fans, said 'YoonA is making us cool.' So I was very proud, thinking 'Our fans are this great.' Anyway, I would like to go to the photo exhibition, but I can't be sure. Actually, I already saw some of the pics which will be displayed on the exhibition. If I don't have schedules at that time, then I will visit those photo exhibitions.”

Fan: "Any languages you want to learn?" YoonA, "First, I want to master Chinese which I've been learning from my middle school days. Then, I want to master English. After that, I haven't thought about it. But if I have to choose one additional language to learn, then I want one which is not commonly picked."

Some fans said, "How about Arab?" YoonA, "You know, Middle East Asia is coming. No, really." YoonA, "If ur thinking about learning Chinese, then Arab might be a better idea (cuz there are alrdy many ppl who can speak Chinese). It's my prediction, so mark my word. If I'm wrong, then forget about it." then laughed. When I was a student, I had to pick between Chinese and Japanese. I picked Chinese, because many people picked Japanese then. When I filmed K2, I thought about learning Spanish, too, but it's very difficult. So right now, Chinese and English.”

Fan: "Are you gonna have a birthday party with ‪SNSD members on your birthday?" YoonA, "I'd love to, but unfortunately it's very likely that I have a drama shoot, even on my birthday. I might be able to meet other members for album work, but for my birthday, I'm not sure yet. But we did talk about meeting on early June. No particular reason, just we haven't seen each other for quite long. So I guess we'll meet then. If so, then we will be able to celebrate Seohyun's birthday." then laughed.”

Fan: "Between 'God of War Zhao Zi Long' and 'The King Loves', which one is more memorable for you?" This fan asked YoonA a very long question, so YoonA jokingly said, "You're not a journalist, right?" then laughed.

YoonA, "About GOW ZZL, because of the language barrier, I think I couldn't fully describe my character. I feel a bit sorry about it. But if I do it again now, then I might be able to describe the character better (because my Chinese is improved). ZZL and TKL have similar aspect because both drama gave me a feeling that I'm acting double roles. Difference is, I think ZZL was more splendid. Since they do a lot of historical dramas, accessories and costumes were fancy.”

Fan: "Do you have any plan to hold an overseas fanmeeting?" YoonA, "Are you from China? Oh, you're the one who came and support me at Baeksang Awards. But I'm sorry, I don't have a plan for China fanmeeting as of now. But I know CHN fans really take care good care of me. I'd like to visit (and hold a fanmeeting) there, so please wait for me.”

Fan: "What is the most memorable birthday present from ‪SNSD members?" YoonA, "Hmm, I don't know. To me, being together is the most interesting thing. Talking to each other and having fun. Most of the time, me and Sunny unnie's birthday parties were held together. I think Sooyoung unnie's birthday party produced more memorable moments than mine. I really wanted to join SY's birthday party this year, but I couldn't because of the drama shoot. I told SY unnie that I could've worked a perfect retro concept. She said, 'Whatever you do, you won't look funny at all.'”

Fans: "What are you drinking now?" YoonA, "This? It's water. From SUM Cafe. When we do team promotion, manager oppa has to prepare different colors of bottle cap (to avoid confusion). We could choose one of the bottle caps. Every single time, I could hear the distant shout "PINK! PINK! MINE!" from someone. (Because of that someone) I don't even look at pink. Even picking a color isn't easy for us." then laughed.

Fan: "Which food did you cook recently?" YoonA, "I got no time to cook recently. French toast only?" Fans, "Ooooh" YA, "It's an absolutely easy one." then laughed.

Fan: "Have you thought about taking a villain role?" YoonA, "If there's a good one, then yes, I can think about it. But do you want me to do it?" Fans said yes. YoonA, "OK, let's assume I took a villain role, but she's not a protagonist." Fans, "That's a NO!" we all laughed. YoonA, "There you go. Hard to find a protagonist villain." One fan shouted, "Sympathy For Lady Vengeance". YoonA, "WHAT?" we laughed. YoonA, "But I'll think about it if there's a good role."

Fan: "How many comments do you read on your IG post usually?" YoonA, "I read them as much as time allows me to do. After I write IG post, I push refresh button couple times to check how many comments were made, yes." then laughed.”

Fan: "Why do you post IG so late, almost after midnight?" YoonA, "Sorry, I guess I woke you guys up because of the IG notice on your phones. But I usually go to bed quite late. I tried to sleep early, but most of the time I couldn't sleep too early. It's my habit. Plenty of times I thought about uploading IG post but gave up because of the time period. (too late)”

Fan: "Do you have any intention to do IG Live?" YoonA, "I do, but right now I don't have anything to do (for IG Live) since I'm usually at drama shooting nowadays. Oh, birthday? Yeah, I thought about doing IG Live on a special day. Birthday sounds good. I'll try to do it.”

Fan: "Which camera apps do you usually use?" YoonA, "B612, Camera 360, and sometimes Pic-X (note: Not sure which app she meant for the last one)"

Fan: "Among Taeyeon's new songs, which one is your favorite?" YoonA, "'When I Was Young', and 'Make Me Love You'. Especially the latter one, I love it.”

Fan: "Is 10th anniversary album a full album?" YoonA, "That's...a secret at this point."

Fan: "What do you usually talk on your kakao chat room?" YoonA, "Recently, we talked about ‪SNSD album.

Fan: "Concept wise, which is your favorite ‪SNSD song?" YoonA, "Genie."

Fan: "How do you feel being that pretty?" This question made YoonA burst our laughing. YoonA, "It's a happy feeling." we all laughed.

Fan asked YoonA a question regarding TY's Persona concert. YoonA pretended being bitter, "I couldn't go there. I envy you!"

Fan: "Among shooting locations for TKL, do you have any recommendation for us?" YoonA, "Hapcheon. Flower garden is very beautiful there."

Fan: "How much do you like SONE?" YoonA pointed a balloon, said, "Whole amount except for that small balloon." We cheered but one fan, "Why take out the balloon amount?" YoonA, "If I just say 'This much' then you might think I'm not being sincere."

Fan: "Do you have any plan to join a variety like Crime Scene?" YoonA, "Sorry, I'm not that smart." then laughed.

Fan: "Do you have any plan to do twitter?" Many fans screamed "No! Not twitter!" lol I think they (jokingly) meant that YoonA shouldn't find out what they're doing on twitter. YoonA, "Why? Why no twitter? In fact, I'm not interested in twitter, but why? That place must be protected? From me? Do you write some bad stuffs about me there?" fans laughed. "

Ending

While receiving additional questions, fans asked YoonA to walk around between audiences just like last year. YoonA, "You want me to do it again? But it's too late, already over 2 hours. Time is up for noraebang (karaoke)." One fans shouted, "Service Service!" then others shouted, "Even noraebang gives additional time for free!" YoonA laughed, said, "OK, I'll do it." then she moved down from the stage, walked around the audience seats and received Qs there. OK, this is it for additional questions. I might have missed some questions because some questions went by too quick, but anyway.

After receiving additional questions, YoonA took photo with us, and sang 'Deoksookung' with fans. And the party is over I like the fact that Deoksookung unofficially becomes a fan song for YoonA. Fans singing 10cm part while YA singing her part sounds so good. There will be no more updates about ‪YoongParty. I think it's my longest one so far anyway lol. Well, though it took a lot of time, writing a fanacc also helped me reminding how nice and awesome YoonA was. I enjoyed doing it.

AMA Transcript: Awoken

This past week, @professor-maka​ and @sahdah​ stopped in to chat about their work on their 2016 Resbang, Awoken! Here’s some of what went down:

Q: How did your fic change/evolve over time? Any deleted scenes/headcanons you couldn't fit into the fic?

ProMa: Sort of? In that I wasn't exactly sure how far I wanted to take the plot at first, and at one point considered a Medusa appearance but decided I liked flipping the villain expectation too much to fuss with it.

Q: How the frick did you write the songs and stuff?? It was so good and hilarious.

ProMa: Ahhhh I can't music which is why the songs are either poems (only the first, and it's intentionally bad) or I took actual songs and just--modified lyrics in the same meter.

Q: You wrote your own lyrics tho?

ProMa: I did. I carefully plotted to the meter of the original. Or in the case of Ox's first song, just kept a really trite meter.

Q: Gotta ask the obvious question: What made you want to do an Enchanted AU!!

ProMa: It's a really fun movie, and I just felt I could do something fun with it. Though I'll admit there's a heavy Enchanted Forest Chronicles in there, too.

Q: What was the hardest scene to write?

ProMa: Hardest to write was hmmmm... Maka waking up the second time. I got stuck in that section forever.

Q: And which scene did you write first?? Loved the song summons btw. It made me laugh so hard.

ProMa: I wrote it pretty much in order except in a few places where I wrote the song before the scene, so the taxi scene came first. The song summons was so fun to write. I wanted to take that scene from Enchanted and completely flip it on its head.

Q: Proma, I love the running gag with the disembodied music, was that from the AU's or your own detail?

ProMa: Disembodied music was just drawing from the brand of humor in Enchanted Forest Chronicles, Patrick Dempsey's reactions in Enchanted, and the reality of musicals. So basically my take on it, lol.

Q: How early in the process did you figure out that Ox was gonna be the prince? Were you always sure it would be him or did you have to narrow it down?

ProMa: Ox was my prince pretty much from the get go. He just fit what I wanted to do. I was going for the more noble version of Hans from Frozen.

Q: Was there anything weird that you didn't expect to make it into the final cut?

ProMa: The potty humor I definitely wasn't sure I would keep. But I am 14 at heart and kept it.

Q: Alternately, anything you wanted to keep but had to cut?

ProMa: I kind of wanted a Black Star appearance but time and plot arc did not allow. Also Wes was not in the original plan but he happened anyway.

Q: Tell us about the art collab! How did it work for you?

ProMa: They were really enthusiastic and supportive and started throwing ideas out from the get go! 

sahdah: Read voraciously, threw my ideas at Proma. 

ProMa: The poster image sahdah did was so great she worked on it forever! sahdah: Proma was super chill and awesome about things, I'd ask for direction and she gave like dress ideas. It was so much fun! 

ProMa: And rogha's painting was lovely.

Q: What was the hardest thing about that poster image?

sahdah: Ahhh the coloring. I did pen drawing and scanned but I'd just gotten a tablet for digital so working the layers was interesting. I had lots of support from Proma and Aer!

Q: How many drafts did you do before you decided on a final image for the art?

sahdah: Um, it started off with just Maka, and then Ox got added. And then I think Kim was next - this is all on the same page - and I knew Soul in a beanie had to be there. So it just grew. 

ProMa: It grew in the most glorious way possible. Sahdah kept sending me updates and I just [said] YES YES GOOD YES.

Q: I am jealous of how well-behaved this fic was for not having any deleted scenes.

ProMa: AHAHA I'm a weird writer. I delete sometimes, but not often.

Q: SEQUEL?

ProMa: Noooooooo no no no no no. Epilogue is my limit.

Q: What was your favorite scene to write?

ProMa: Either the vermin scene or Maka laying the smackdown on Ox. Both were fun. Maka as badass is always my jam.

Q: Is this a genre you'd want to do again?

ProMa: It was fun, I'd definitely do it again!

Q: Please tell me what inspired the "friendly neighbourhood broctologist" line because I literally laughed at it for 30 straight seconds.

ProMa: B* works in mysterious ways. He always gets my best lines. What inspired it? B* being B*.

[discussion of the rats/roaches scene]

ProMa: That scene is one of the more direct lifts from the film. It's really nasty. Vermin squick me so hard, but vermin summoning is one of the most hilarious things in the film. I HAD to. 

sahdah: Giriko running in fear when he next sees them, lol. 

ProMa: Poor Giriko, he only wanted some loot.

[discussion of how numerous people have not seen Enchanted]

ProMa: It's cute and funny and I did something completely different with the premise because Maka is no Gisselle.

Q: Real question time: Why George Michael?

ProMa: Omg. It was my server name because it was a play on the kiss thing and then I just--had to. Because Wham is awesome and cheesy and it fit.

Q: I'm kinda mad with how it was not awkward or cheesy. How do you put Wham in a story and make it charming?

sahdah: Promagic. 

ProMa: I have no idea. I love Wham, they were my first album. Call it a labor of pure love.

Q: Did you listen/watch anything (besides the obvious) for inspiration?

ProMa: I had a playlist I've been meaning to post: http://8tracks.com/professor-maka/awoken. I'll have to make it not unlisted later lol.

Q: Is it possible for Mr. Proma to do a cover the fic songs?

ProMa: It'd be hilarious but he'd side eye me hard. Very not his genre. Well, maybe the Foo Fighters. :') I would laugh so hard to hear them performed though. Maybe someday someone will perform one and make my life. 

sahdah: Soul singing Pearl Jam in the shower <3 

ProMa: Mr.Proma sent me that song when we were dating, it was a nod to self. 

sahdah: Awwwh, such a good husbando! 

ProMa: Such good husbando. Well, boyfriendu then.

Q: If you had to do it over, would there be anything you'd change?

ProMa: Hmmmmm man I just reread it. I wish I'd edited another round, because I missed some dumb reppy shit and just dumb shit. Also, the ending could be drawn out a bit. So I would do that if I had it to do again. But I was in serious time crunch mode.

Q: I am so impressed with how much fic you can crank out, Proma.

sahdah: Proma cranked out the last bit of the fic in... what was it, like 2 days? 

ProMa: Yeah, the last third was very fast. 

sahdah: I'm like WAIT!!! SO MUCH I NEED TO ART. 

ProMa: Sahdah did her second two pieces in like two days so MASS APPLAUSE. 

sahdah: /head scratch like there was so much good content! 

ProMa: And those pieces are great too.

Q: How does one do that, pull out quality in such a short time?

sahdah: Copious amounts of caffeine and manic cackling with Resbang partners. <3 

ProMa: I write fast under pressure. It's a skill I picked up in school that weirdly translates into creative things. Thank you, undergrad all nighters.

Q: Proma, [in the] epilogue, how does Ox fare with Kim?

ProMa: Omg Ox does not fare with Kim. She is all about dat Jackie. But I mean, he has his kingdom. Even if Spirit gives him constant shit for the rest of his days.

Q: How does Spirit react to maka moving?

ProMa: Spirit is so dejected. I haven't worked it out, but he would definitely seek Maka out. Might even just hand the kingdom to Ox eventually, and go [to the] whole other world. He will visit, that's not even arguable. That omake I will heavily consider. 

Q: Proma, one thing that I was interested to see and that I think I'm glad about is that you didn't do the whole Aesop where Maka has to go back and learn how to break the curse, find happiness in her own world. While I can appreciate that message and I think it has its place, I also think that if people could really do that... there are probably people who would find a place and feel better somewhere other than their "home world." I mean, you could translate the "world" metaphor to people choosing to leave a toxic family of origin, which would be a good thing.

ProMa: Oh yeah, I was never going to go there. This was about Maka shaping her own life on her terms. I was not going for archetypes at alllll. Blair was always my choice for the fairy godmother role. It's so canon anyway. You can do some good things with that trope, it just wasn't the goal. Maka staying in her new life definitely came from the source -- even if a lot of the source is altered beyond recognition. 

sahdah: I also love Maka working to improve herself on her terms. Like the details with the soufflé. 

ProMa: I definitely borrowed some flavor from Wrede.

[more discussion of the vermin scene]

ProMa: That's one of the biggest actual pulls from the movie though -- I flipped it completely. Giselle summons vermin to clean the messy house. Yeah, that is not Maka. Maka just wants her crap back and she's not into the singing thing. 

sahdah: Giriko! The real vermin, lol.

Q: Maka asking animals via Disney princess song to wreck Giriko's shit was one of my favorite things. 

ProMa: It's Maka, she's not gonna sing to clean Soul's house, he can get off his own ass! 

sahdah: Let's be real, he probably has a cleaning service, because of Mother. 

ProMa: His house is spotless, there are maids. (Why a high powered lawyer in Enchanted couldn't hire a maid is beyond me.) 

sahdah: Mc-Procrastinator, not Dreamy. 

ProMa: Mc-raises kid in nasty house. I actually have a soft spot for pet rats, we had them in 3rd grade but an actual in my house rat would make me into a quivering pile of NOPE.

Q: Is it Mc-over? [ implied :( ]

ProMa: You guys asked great questions thank you! It was so much fun, I'm glad others thought so too!

“Jagiyaaaaaaaaaa,” Jin called from the kitchen. “Where are the chips?”

Your eyes widened, and you swallowed, “What chips?”

“You know, my favorite cheddar ones! I only bought them yesterday!” You could hear JIn rummaging around the pantry, opening and shutting cabinets, and even the fridge. You could listen to his loud sigh and his heavy footsteps leaving the kitchen towards the living room where you sat with a book ... and Jin’s chips in your lap.

Quickly, you rolled up the bag and stuffed it under the couch while wiping the crumbs from your fingers. Holding your book to make it seem like you hadn’t done anything wrong.

A pouting Seokjin moped into the room and threw himself at the couch cushion next to you. “I was really craving chips.” He rotated to lay his head on your lap, moving your book to the side, his long legs hanging over the armrest.

He looked so sad that you couldn’t help but lean down and give him a quick kiss, forgetting about the cheddar dust on your lips.

“JAGIYA! HOW COULD YOU!”

“IM SORRY I DIDN’T KNOW!”

“Y/N, I love you but I don’t think I can continue this relationship if you plan to continue betraying me this way.” You giggled at Jin’s over-dramaticness, pulling out the bag of chips and leaning in to kiss him again.

Soon enough, your book lay long forgotten.

Y O O N G I

“Y/N? Do you know where the CD I had laying on the dresser went to?” Yoongi asked, poking his head in the room, looking a little flustered.

“Uh, the one in the purple case that’s been collecting dust for weeks?” You looked up from your book.

“That’s the one. Where is it?”

“Oh um, well it was just sitting there so I thought it wasn’t very important...” You trailed off.

Yoongi walked towards you, slightly concerned. “Babe... What did you do with it?”

“Nothing bad! I just brought it out to my car to listen to it. I was hoping it would be a bunch of the songs you’ve been working so hard on.” You smiled nervously, knowing what was actually on the CD.

Yoongi sighed, “Well, I guess the cat’s out of the bag now. Hold on, I’ll be back in a sec.” He walked towards the bathroom.

The CD that you thought would be full of finished or demo BTS songs, was actually full of Yoongi’s personal love songs that, in the very last song, he had dedicated to you.

Yoongi came back, holding a hand behind his back. “See, I had planned on taking you for a drive coincidentally and playing you each track and then for the last songs there would be signs on the road with the lyrics. Specifically the last few lines.”

He bent in front of you, not really the kneeling type and casually handed you the box. It was so perfectly Yoongi that you wouldn’t have minded either way.

In a soft tone, he began carefully rapping the last few lines of your favorite song from the CD, “Y/N, my perfect suit to a T, wanna marry me?”

H O S E O K

“TAEHYUNG!" A loud holler came from the back of the boy’s shared apartment. “IM GOING TO KICK YOU!” Which was then followed by a loud, puppy-like squeal and a scared Tae running from an angry Hobi.

Tae, the smart little thing he is, ran and hid next to you, knowing that you’d protect him from your scary boyfriend. You quickly went up to Hoseok and put your arms around him.

“Babe, what’s going on?” You asked softly.

“He stole my favorite shirt again!” Hoseok whined, burrowing his face into your neck. You stiffened, glad you had put a hoodie on over the same shirt Taehyung was being accused of stealing.

“Hyung! This time it wasn’t me! I bet it was Kookie. He’s got those beady eyes, perfect for a life of crime!” An innocent Tae pleaded towards your boyfriend.

“Taehyung, do not blame poor Kookie for your ‘crimes’!” Namjoon hollered from his seat on the next couch over. Tae harumphed and crossed his arms over his chest, still standing behind you.

“Hon, maybe Tae didn’t steal your shirt. Maybe it’s still in the laundry or something. But even if he did steal it, or anyone for that matter, you should forgive them and just be ... happy!” You soothed, hoping Hoseok listened to you well. You heard a soft Thank you, Noona from the beagle behind you.

Hobi sighed, “Fine, sorry Tae. I guess you probably didn’t steal it. Y/N is right.” Hoseok snuggled his face deeper into your neck, accidentally shifting your hoodie and revealing the shirt that had caused so much controversy.

Hoseok pulled back sharply. “Jagiya.”

“Yes?” You squeaked.

“Run!”

N A M J O O N

You stepped out of the shower, fuzzy blanket wrapped around your body. Namjoon stood up from his seat on top of the bathroom countertops.

“Nope, no, not happening. Joonie I just got clean.” You lightly pushed his bare chest away from you, ignoring his protests. “Take your shower. I’m going to get dressed and make breakfast.”

“Jagiyaaaa, our shower is big enough for two, so we should take this opportunity, right?” You just looked at his puppy face with a stoic face. Internally, you were about to break, but Namjoon didn’t need to know that. “Alright fine. I’ll join your clean club.”

“Good boy! Who’s a good boy! Aw, look at my wittle baaaby!” Namjoon gave you an unimpressed stare, quickly glancing downwards with an eyebrow raised as if to say Am I really that little? Wink wonk and promptly turned towards the shower.

You left the bathroom with a grin on your face. The bed was still frumpled and messy from all of last night’s - and this morning’s - activities. You sighed because you know that Namjoon would just skip away from the mess, leaving you to clean it up. Stalking into the ‘her’ closet, you pulled on a random pair of sweatpants that really belong in the ‘his’ and a plain white t. (I’M ROLLING: HEY THERE DELILAH WHAT’S IT LIKE IN NAMJOONS BED??) You grabbed your ring, threw the covers on the bed back up haphazardly and left towards the kitchen.

It was then that you heard Namjoon’s screams of terror. You ran back into the bathroom, heart pounding in your ears. “Namjoon! What is it?”

You heard a loud sigh from the other side of the curtains.

“You moved the body wash again, Jagi. Now I have sugar scrub in my hair and when I realized, I spun too fast to look at the bottle that I knocked your shaver and it cut my arm.” Namjoon whined, poking his head out from behind the curtains. You couldn’t help but let out a large cackle, finding your fiancé’s misfortune hilarious. 

“Maybe I should join you and kiss you better. My razor can be a bitch.” You smirked to yourself.

“I think that’s your best idea yet, Jagi!” His face was an adorable mix of his smile and his smirk. You stripped quickly, carefully setting your ring on the bathroom counter thinking how lucky you are that Namjoon’s razor was gonna prick you hard.

J I M I N

“Jimin.” “Jimin.”

“JiMIN!”

“Y/N, shut up. I’m trying to sleep.”

“But Jiminie, you stole all the covers and I’m freezing.” You complained, shivering on the other side of Jimin’s bed.

“There’s blankets in the closet over there,” He pointed very vaguely towards the hallway? Or maybe the closet? You couldn’t tell.

“Jimin, please share your covers with me?” You tried once again. Your childhood best friend was so annoying. He even forced you to stay at his new apartment after helping him unpack because he wanted to celebrate, but you had a feeling he was just a little scared.

You got no response. “Okay, Jimin. I’m gonna call Namjoon to pick me up, then.” That made him react.

He sat up - slowly but progress is progress - and looked at you with a pointed glare. “Y/N. No. I’m your best friend. You don’t need to be with him all the time. I’ll go get you a blanket. I’ll even get you that fancy heated one that your mom gave me.” He clambered out of his bed, making his way into the hallway.

You smirked. “He is my boyfriend, ya know?”

He grumbled quietly to himself, stretching up to the top of the closet for the blanket. “Yeah, I know.” He finally grabbed it and made his way back to his room where he found you curled up with his blanket, passed out. 

“At least she’s in my bed tonight,” Jimin mumbled bitterly, throwing an arm over you and snuggling into the person he’s been in love with for 18 years. The person who will never love him back.

T A E H Y U N G

“Baaaabe! Please talk to me!” You pleaded toward Taehyung who was stubbornly refusing to even look at you after he found you curled up in his chair.

See, when you had forced Taehyung to go shopping with you a week and a half ago to replace your old, dingy furnature in your shared living room, he had fallen in love with a creme colored leather rocking recliner. It came with swing out cup holders and even a phone charging port.

When he sat down in the chair at the store, he not only shed a tear, but woldn’t let you sit in it so that you “wouldn’t feel heaven and therefore would never steal his chair from him.” You groaned at him before flagging down a salesperson to show you to the more practical, cuddle-able couches.

Instead, Taehyung asked them for a brand-new, never sat in chair to be sent to your house.

“You were teasing me Tae! I couldn’t not know what it felt like after you’ve been pushing your feelings for this chair down my throat for an entire week!”

Taehyung flared his nostrils at you before picking you up and dramatically tossing you on the couch. “You picked yours and I picked mine, Noona.” He sunk into the cool leather. “Oof, the seat is warm from you.”

“Good! Embrace my body heat. I’ll sit on the couch all alone and stretch out, and even though this couch is perfect for two people to lay on, it’s even better for just one.” You said loudly, trying to guilt trip the man.

Two days later, a distraught Taehyung, and a trip back to the furniture store, you and the oversized manchild sat on an even newer brand new couch. One that was basically two creme colored rocking recliners with slide out drink holders and phone plugins but they were connected. Perfect for cuddling and sharing body heat.

J U N G K O O K

“I thought you loved me. I thought wrong.” Jungkook said before he turned tail and walked right back out of the kitchen where you had been eating cereal with his special golden spoon.

“Ya! You used all of the other silverware and I was hungry!” You chased after him, abandoning your bowl. You found him looking out of the window dramatically.

You giggled a little to yourself before swallowing Jungkook in a backhug.

“Y/N, you have your own spoon so why did you have to use mine?” He asked very sternly. He was referring to the two sets of silverware you bought when you first moved in together. All of yours were pink and whle you tried to beg him to get the blue ones to match, he chose the golden ones. Of course, you had regular silver sets as well.

“My spoon was dirty,” You answered simply.

“And what about the guest spoons?”

“You used the last one yesterday so right now they’re in the dishwasher.”

“Why didn’t you use a fork? I know there’s plenty of those.”

You rolled your eyes against his back, “I can’t exactly eat cereal with a fork, can I?”

“I’m sure it’s possible.” You gripped him tighter and pressed a few short kisses to the back of his neck.

“Kook, what can I do to make it up to you?” His breathing started to get heavier from the kisses paired with the tone of your voice. Your breathing followed suit.

He turned in your arms to face you, “You can buy me a new spoon. That one’s ruined now.” He lightly pushed you away and walked off towards your room.

“Kookie!

I go to concerts a lot – even more now since I started this blog. I knew that this concert would be special and just f****** amazing so I was excited since July after the Gurtenfestival gig. The review of his new record Roswell was one of my first blog posts because let’s face it he is one of my favourite artists.

I went to the venue early and luckily I made it to front row! This is the only place at the Marteria gig for me 🙂 The support act Kid Simius is Marteria’s buddy and bass player but it was just not for me.

Finally at 8.50 the familiar sound of “Roswell” rang around Samsung Hall! The concert started and my excitement levels went through the roof. Everyone was already all in and many concerts don’t even reach that kind of atmosphere during the last songs. On it went with “Aliens”. We are all Aliens! And obviously Marteria addressed the seats on the balcony.

This is a Marteria concert. Nobody is sitting down. Everybody is standing up! All Hands!

His favourite sentence is: “Alle Hände!” and everyone complies. With “Endboss” he performed one of his earlier tracks which I only got to really love during this tour. My bad I know 🙂 When I say he performed it’s not quite accurate. Marteria has 3 background singers (one of which is pregnant and still gives her all on stage), 1 rap buddy Pete Boateng and four musicians playing various instruments on stage. With two new Roswell tracks “Scotty beam mich hoch” and “El Presidente” the show continued.

During “Bengalische Tiger” someone smuggled in a red pyro and lit it up in the back of the hall. It looked amazing however I understand that it is very dangerous! And another two of Marteria’s Roswell “Tauchstation” and “Blue Marlin” were next. They are slower but still full of energy and obviously ALLE HÄNDE were up high. Next we had to do the peace sign and the old “Skyline” of New York was shown on the screen.

For “Neue Nikes” Marteria always asks: “What shoes are you wearing tonight?!” and yes, of course there a few guys wearing Nikes and had to show them up high. During the whole song lots of Nikes were bouncing in the air. When the first chords of this next song started I knew that this concert is going by much to fast and I really really don’t want it to end. One of my favs “Marteria Girl” came on and if you wondered No I didn’t find a big  dude to carry me for this song. I know I failed but thankfully I was front row and had still good views. 😉 So yes people: Ich bin ein Marteria Girl / I am obviously a Marteria Girl but who wouldn’t be? Have you looked at him?! 🙂

The three background singers each got a solo part. The girl from Brazil Solange did an amazing job rapping during “El Presidente”, the blonde newbie Madeleine Rauch during this song “Verstrahlt” and the pregnant lady Hanife will be doing hers later. After “Grosse Brüder” the band turned it down and Marteria sat down to sing a song for his son “Louis”.

It was a really lovely quiet moment but now the beat came back and we splashed some virtual money around for “Das Geld muss weg”. “Links” followed” with the words spread across the huge LED screen in the back. Marteria left the stage only to come back as his Alter Ego Marsimoto.

Marsi is a green alien coming from space with lots of smoke… which made it quite hard to breathe for the security and the first few rows. He was allowed 4 songs “Grüner Samt”, “Kleine Bühne”, “Nazi” and the last song of Marsimoto “Döner”. Marsi went back to space and Marteria came back with the three hits which made him known to the mainstream. First up “OMG” and everyone went crazy for it. If you thought this was loud and crazy then you were wrong. With “Kids” the crowd went bonkers and literally EVERYBODY was singing along. The atmosphere was just full of energy and of people who were there to have a good time.

Alle haben ‘nen Job — ich hab Langeweile! Keiner hat mehr Bock auf Kiffen, Saufen, Feiern So ist das hier im Block, Tag ein Tag aus Halt mir zwei Finger an den Kopf und mach: Peng! Peng! Peng! Peng!

“Lila Wolken” is still one of my favourite songs ever and the pregnant singer Hanife straight from Hamburg city sang the part of Miss Platinum. Pete Boateng did the male singing part and Marteria his rap part. Just a beautiful song which will always remind me of the set at Gurtenfestival when we stayed up until the clouds really were purple again from the morning sun. I guess it was just a special night back then and it couldn’t be topped by this one. However I am not saying that last night wasn’t great because it was f***** awesome! The sound was amazing, the audience were brilliant, the band was incredible so this will deffo make my top 10 of the best concerts this year.

The band left the stage for the encore only to come back to sing “Welt Der Wunder”. Everyone in the audience lit up their phone or the lighter and a beautiful sea of lights made a wonderful background to this amazing song. Marteria raps:

If you haven’t looked at Marteria’s lyrics you should definitely do so now. He always has very smart lyrics and each time I listen to a song carefully I discover new little rhymes which I love. During “Feuer” everyone has to jump and this song is just full of party and energy and after two hours Marteria still got everyone under control. Everyone’s hands are up and singing/rapping along. Okay and now:

Welcome to the last 20 seconds of this song

Those 20 seconds last about 7 mins and it really is the last song of the night. Everyone should take of their shirts and wave them in the air during the 20 seconds of the song. Me as a pro Marteria girl I always take a scarf with me 😉 During the next 20 seconds the boys who took off their shirt will throw them through the air and this is done repeatedly. And again welcome to the last 20 seconds of this song Marteria walked through the crowd into the mosh pit in the middle. And again it’s jumping and waving and pushing time with Marteria right there in the midst of his crowd. Yesterday he wasn’t even able to get back so he just crowd surfed back during another last 20 seconds of the song. And finally the concert has ended. Marteria walks through the first row and high fives everyone. Back on stage he says thank you for coming out and always supporting us since the early days in Abart, Komplex 345 and now tonight 5000 people!

  In his Instagram stories you saw that he was struggling with a flu and he still went on stage and you didn’t see a thing. He and his band gave us 200% of energy and we did our best to give it back to them. Again I have to say those kinds of artists are well worth supporting! Thank you to Mainland Music for bringing me to this awesome gig! Lastly I want to say thank you Marteria and Ich bin ein Marterial Girl forever! 🙂
