literally cannot stop thinking about how intentional it is in pvp civilization that people refer to evbo as "kid" or tell him he is "just a kid". it isn't just a headcanon that he is probably a teenager he IS a teenager. he's impulsive like a teenager, he's naive like a teenager, he doesn't understand romance like a teenager, he's materialistic and looking for anything that will give him comfort or happiness like a teenager because he IS A TEENAGER. he's a kid. he's a kid cursed with immortality, and what do people do with that? abuse it. evbo is a kid in a horrible, violent society, and he knows nothing else, but he still believes, naively, like a kid, that there are people who are better than this society. he tells zam that he and the iron swords don't need to farm him, that it will do them no good. what about his life? what about tabi's? and he forgets where he is. what he is.

in this society, evbo is not a child. in this society, evbo is not the "chosen one". he is a tool. he is an object. what do you do with tools and objects? you use them.

and yet evbo still stands there, a kid. and the adults of this society exploit that. he is just a kid, he doesn't get it. he is just a kid, he doesn't realize how many lives he's saving. he is just a stupid, naive, vulnerable kid with too much love and too much hope in his heart. we can use that.

he is a calf standing on wobbly knees born knowing it is destined for the slaughterhouse.

We talk about lighter cuddles but what about lighter hugs

he looks to be about billy’s height 6’2 so when he hugs you he puts his head/chin on top of yours 🥺

i was inspired by my classmates. they are very close as homies but it sorta sparked a thought in me.

lucy had sent out lighter for another errand and while waiting for him, you end up spending time with burnice at the bar. without realizing, a tall figure had appeared behind you but you were too busy enjoying the songs that burnice had put on to notice.

his hands find your waist, poking you gently and perhaps tried to tickle you before placing his head on top of yours. his hands then move around to give a proper back hug. he doesn’t feel as embarrassed because you’re not looking directly at him but you can tell from the way he’s hugging you, he really missed you.

burnice had already placed lighter’s usual drink on the counter but he just doesn’t budge. just soft mumblings as you’re asking him how his day went.

i just think he loves sneaking from behind with back hugs. to him, it’s a little less embarrassing for him (JUST EMBRACE IT AT THIS POINT LIGHTERRR), and he eliminates any sort of surprise FOR HIM. i think he enjoys being fully aware and he likes your reactions each time. the way you say his name every time just has him MELTING.

also the height difference has him weak. he can look over you or you’d tilt your head up to look at him and he’s just stuttering from looking at you from this angle. little tangent but getting ready in the morning with him and he places his head on yours while both of you are brushing your teeth SORRY I GOT A LITTLE DOMESTIC THERE

thinking about. the way elphaba verbally states once that her heart’s desire is to not be green anymore but truly it’s just. fitting in. being loved. it’s just that the only way she can ever see that happening is through changing her skin color.

then along comes glinda and suddenly! suddenly! glinda gives elphie her true heart’s desire. she fits in! she has a friend! and because of this her hearts desire morphs into something else and again verbally she says it's to help the animals, but at the same time the narrative fully establishes something else. glinda: i hope you get your heart’s desire / elphaba: come with me to the emerald city.

the wizard clocks it too obviously because after guessing her heart’s desire is to not be green anymore, he uses glinda as a bargaining chip to have elphie side with him! and of course elphaba can’t do that, would never do that.

but still. elphaba asks glinda to come with her one more time. glinda has given elphie her heart’s desire once, twice even if you count coming with her to the emerald city. but she can’t give it to her when it matters most. to me that’s what gives a whole nother layer to defying gravity’s you could have all you ever wanted / i know / but i don’t want it / no i Can't want it / anymore
