V. sugar baby buck is sooooo real and so important to me. tommy spoiled him in bed but he also spoiled him in every other aspect of his life. whether it was an act of service or getting him all the nice things money can buy—tommy spoiled him throughly. and i’d even venture to guess that tommy paid for most of their dates and bought buck little “just because” gifts during the six months they were together. and it’s not because tommy believed buck couldn’t pay for their dates or buy his own things—he just wanted to take care of his baby the way he deserved to be taken care: wholly, throughly, completely pampered. spoiled. and indulged—and that too, without buck even having or needing to ask.

whitney x eri (my pc) for @digenerate-trash's apocalypse/forgotten AU. thank you for making such a fun AU idea !!! so the story is that eri is pregnant with kids and originally was from robin's faction, though there had been incidents that occurred to some other pregnant members of robin's faction and she decided it's not safe there anymore and needed to move to whitney's faction.

small note: i made the first two panels when the AU was still just a suggestion HBJERFBHJERF so there's a lot of inconsistencies, such as them being outside when thats supposed to be dangerous 🥹! just pretend they're in a room safe and away from windows.

Skeletons can understand them, and no one else.

Do you have any ideas on why that is?

Like, what is different about skeletons that makes it understandable to them?

Is it that they can see the written-out message of what’s spoken? (explanation I first saw in Handplates)

And why is font changing difficult? What kind of „tiring” is it (as in, what can this kind of effort be compared to? Speaking a language you’re only starting to learn? Something else?)

Skeletons can understand them cause their hearing works differently, that's how they can identify a font by just listening to the other skeleton! If not, how would they know how to name their babies that can't really talk or write yet? It's about how they sound

Changing font is difficult because it requires an extra effort you wouldn't normally make: Imagine speaking another lenguage while speaking in a baby voice constantly

It wouldn't bother you if you do it as a joke and you can get used to it, but it would be annoying for long periods of time!

I imagine it's like that for most skeletons, but it was probably harder for Wingdings since he had to change from symbols to letters, not from letters to other letters

Okay, so- I was talking to my cousin as I normally would during a new year's family gathering and she pointed out to me how jarringly different Stan and Ford's takes on learning is in my modernity AU. It probably doesn't seem all that clear without context and honestly I didn't notice it myself until I was talking to her but here's two situations that I think should encapsulate things pretty well.

Stanley would purposefully say the wrong thing to get a rise out of people(which he often does to Ford) or at the very least a correction. He doesn't waltz into something completely blind but most of what he figures out are through trial by fire.

Ford would scour anything and everything he could about a certain topic to make sure he has his bases covered and is often the one correcting instead of being corrected. He walks into things with an expectation in mind and almost certainly panics afterwards when things don't go to plan.

They're both learning but in completely different ways.

Stanley uses experience more as his teacher whereas Ford is often stuck in the books. Practice vs Theory essentially.

Stanley's philosophy is mostly hinged on Murphy's law, you don't do the "correct" thing with the idea that someone will tell you what it is and that's how you learn. He's gotten in trouble a whole lot for this growing up but it's nothing too substantial or traumatizing. He just learns through trial by fire and experience.

Stanford's philosophy is that you should know or at least do your best to know 110% about the topic so you don't make any fundamental mistakes and look foolish. He doesn't think there's anything wrong with asking questions, but looking dumb because of sheer ignorance is something he's genuinely terrified of. It has a lot to do with his own standards in academics that nearly borders on perfectionism but that's something else entirely.

I wouldn't say either are objectively balanced considering they're actually two far sides of the pendulum when it comes to how you'd approach or view the debate on theory vs practice- but I do think it's a very interesting view into their minds that I hadn't intentionally intended and simply realized after somebody told me.

It's also why I say in this AU if they're both separated, the Stan twins aren't really special, just average joes in a sea of talents; diamonds in the rough. It's when they're banded together that you'll actually see those gemstones shine.

Not to say that they're not independent of each other, trust me they really are because they would probably go insane from being together all the time and have their own strengths which they play up. It just so happens that in this day and age, you really have to stand out to be somebody and sometimes being simply talented isn't always enough.

I could probably talk more about Fidds and Bill if I'm asked but my cousin has an insane hyperfix on Stanley in particular and it's how I end up stuck with this LOL

How did you come up with roleswap Elfilis' design? It's really cool!

Hi! Thank you so much! :D I'd love to share my thought process! Gather round the armchair by the fireplace, friends! It's story time!

I've said before that the Forgotten Land Roleswap started off as a doodle that swapped Dedede and Bandana Dee's roles as Player 2 and the Brainwashed Beast. But when I realized how fun that one little change was, how about EVEN MORE changes? That's how my one-time doodle turned into the full AU story. I swapped Meta Knight and Kirby, Clawroline and Leongar, and Sillydillo and Gorimondo- and because the story is so Waddle-Dee centric, I promoted Dedede to "Player 1" since the stakes would be higher for him as their King.

So now I had a story that had a lot of opposite traits to canon and I wanted to explore that further! When it came to the matter of Elfilin, I thought he would probably behave too similarly towards Dedede and Meta as he did to Kirby and Bandee. He'd be friendly and trusting, communicative, optimistic, knowledgeable, and cooperative. So how about providing them a travel companion who is defensive, has trouble communicating, a little wild, uninformed about themselves and the world around them, and has a bit of a temper?

But working with all these opposite traits didn't feel in-character for Elfilin anymore. So my natural next step was to swap Elfilin with Elfilis and make a new version of the Forgotten Land's lost little pup!

Enough yapping about the context behind my decisions, tho. How'd I come up with Roleswap Elfilis' design?

I see you out there, Fecto Forgo fans. Maybe somebody out there's thought, "Roleswap Elfilis does not look like them! Why not? That's what the other 50% of the Ultimate Life Form looks like! I demand justice for the angry glowing rat fetus!"

Maybe nobody has ever thought this. But I wonder sometimes lol

Your feelings are valid, friends. Please lemme explain my reasonings.

This fella, to me, is the abandoned wet specimen left to float in a jar for who-knows-how-long after a forcible physical and mental separation via spatial teleportation shenanigans. And I think part of their appearance is due to their role as the trapped and forgotten half.

The role of the half that got away fully formed his own body and inherited some traits from the complete being-

For Elfilin in canon, he got ears that are proportionally huge compared to the rest of his body, blue eyes that sparkle with the light of a thousand destroyed planets, a tiny bit of pink fur for his adorable blushies, and a really long fluffy tail. Maybe becoming a being free of chaos gave him those sweet eyes like Kirby and the Waddle Dees have.

My reasoning is that whichever half ends up escaping the Lab and fully forming their own body, they would carry the major physical traits the other wouldn't inherit.

Anyway, that left Elfilis with the horns, colorful and expressive eyes, whiskers, beige chest fluff, opposable thumbs, and pink tummy fur.

Elfilin gets the long tail in the bodily divorce so Elfilis has a short stubby little cotton tail like a bunny. Like if he ended up with just the very tip of the Ultimate Life Form's tail.

Behold this diagram above I came up with two years ago! Disclaimer: the canon Elfilin is the one in the chart. And I draw him a little differently these days lol. I ain't showing anyone how he ended up in the Roleswap yet tho!!!! >:0

But Roleswap Elfilis is more than just "baby version of the Ultimate Life Form..."

All the differences in the Forgotten Land Roleswap from canon stem from one event in the timeline. One change that I added to the events that were already supposed to take place. It's why the Ultimate Life Form split differently. Why the Beasts have different roles and aesthetics. Even why the portal took Bandana Dee and Kirby before Meta Knight and King Dedede.

How did that saying go again? The flap of wings somewhere can influence a bunch of huge changes somewhere else down the line...? What was the name of that theory again....? Hmm. Not important, I guess.
