May we perhaps get some examples of this clearly catalogued timeline of similar events please? I've been watching happyduo for a year or so at this point, but I can't call to mind another time that they've been this blatant

(for what it's worth, to me it does feel very much like a troll this time around, with how deliberately vague they're being. I just don't think I've ever seen them this bold before)

And yeah, Grim is cute. Grim is fascinating. Grim has done Velvet more favors than he'd ever imagine a cape would do for a villain like him. But even if Adonis himself who waltzed into the bakery Velvet would glass him on the spot for even fucking mentioning that shit where anyone could hear.

The infection. The Crimson. The aching presence in the back of Velvet's brain, helpfully suppressed by the meds that cost him so much torment. The worst thing to ever happen to Velvet--the worst thing to ever happen to the entire fucking country, in his opinion. And here Grim stands, demanding to know more.

Velvet doesn't tell people about the Crimson. Not even TapL and Vurb know what it is. And the fucking audacity of this cape to come here--so determined, so hesitant, so brave, so fucking stupid--distracts Velvet just enough so that instead of gassing him and throwing him in a dumpster somewhere away, Velvet just slams his hand over Grim's mouth and shoves him back against the wall.

Grim's pupils expand open, eyes wide open and staring up at Velvet in momentary panic for just a single breath. Velvet stares back down.

What the fuck does he do?

And then he's distracted from that question entirely because Grim's mouth is open and his fangs are sharp and OW, FUCKING CHRIST.

"Fuck." Velvet hisses, yanking his hand back. Two tiny drops of blood well from the fang marks in the flesh of his palm.

The burst of pain snapped him out of that nauseating panic, though. He glances back up to see Grim standing there, almost human with his blue eyes swallowed up by black pupil. He's not moving to fight; he hasn't even shaken off the loose pressure of Velvet's hand pinning him to the wall.

"What are you, feral?" Velvet asks, shaking his hand as he lowers it, heartbeat is still thundering in his ears. Grim doesn't say anything, just stares.

Vurb yells something stupid and Velvet doesn't even take the time to respond because he needs to get them both somewhere quiet. He turns and Grim's reaction time is irritatingly slow for a cape, because he doesn't start to follow until Velvet pulls him by the shoulder.

"Where are we going?" Grim stammers, trying to keep up with Velvet's pace.

Nowhere good, Velvet thinks gloomily.
