I'm sorry for the vent but I had to get this off my chest.
One of the many things that are annoying me about the people complaining about "so-called critics" is that they're either hero stans, dudebros, shippers (esp B*D* shippers) or Bakugo stans. And the latter genuinely annoy me the most. Like yeah so sorry that your fav was saved through the efforts of pro heroes TWICE and even got an awe-inspiring comeback and got to Save his childhood hero™. Yeah you ofc don't care about the story and think we're just being bitter over nothing because AT LEAST YOUR FAV DID NOT MEET A TRAGIC AND MISERABLE END!!! The hero who we thought would die saving you was instead revealed to be doing fine! See he's even growing his limbs back! Ofc you think your fav did not murder a villain (who mind you was pleading for Afo to give back Tomura) because *gasp* my boi can do no wrong!! And even if he were killed so what? Kurogiri's dead anyway! No point in saving a corpse! Instead let's focus on how Deku never ever acknowledges Bakugo for dying twice for him (OH HOW DARE HE!!!)
I do think deku and bakugo might have a talk about this next chapter. Hopefully maybe.
It's insulting how they seem to think we're viewing this story from the perspective of "Western lens" which is utterly baffling and stupid?? Because not everyone is western and our criticism is from a story telling perspective (hello?? themes? narratives? they do exist ya know). We're not someone to disrespect Japanese culture because I guarantee you we're not like that. Like honestly if this story wasn't so insistent on the whole "saving the villains" then we wouldn't be upset. If the manga didn't have Deku say "OFA is a power meant for saving" then we wouldn't have been so hopeful for months (like at least I would've known not to expect anything happy).
Oof....nail on the head.
Also. Let's be clear. When people try to divide the fandom by saying "western" and "eastern", what they usually, typically mean is AMERICAN. Maybe Europeans are lumped in with "western" also (because most of them they're not eastern culture), but honestly the commentary I see is mostly catered toward Americans.
Which I'm not gonna tell people to not make fun of Americans because lmao. Fair.
But acting like Japan is this enigma of a country for having conservative-like values regarding family units and societal expectations and that nobody outside of it, especially on the western half of the hemisphere, can possibly relate to it is just stupid. Would like to remind that other cultures that are vastly different from the US and share a lot of similarities with eastern culture are on the western half of the globe, idiots.
Not gonna dwell on the details of east and west. This isn't a "east" vs "west" issue. Yes there are people who do not take cultural contexts into consideration, either through simply not being aware or not bothering to research/hear what the contexts might mean. I personally do try to do my best to read what might be normal for Japanese people in the situations portrayed in the manga so I'm not wondering wtf is going on or why.
Disliking this ending has nothing to do with disrespecting Japanese culture. Todorokis for example: sorry but abuse is abuse. Hating the ending the Todoroki siblings were portrayed having is completely fair. Doesn't matter where you're from. Where I feel people need to start understanding why Hori might do something differently, or just shut the fuck up otherwise, is how he handled Rei in regards to her relationship with Endeavor. And the kids toward Endeavor. But saying "damn, that finale is fucking depressing, none of them look happy, there was no emotional release or anything, just damn" is not saying "fuck Japanese culture!" Like lmao.
There were plenty of people explaining that MHA is commenting on aspects of Japanese culture. Explaining how. Also, MHA is not the only manga that does shit like that. I also don't think saying "Wow these character arcs that were strongly hinted at going one way falling flat on their faces and going straight to hell is really shitty writing choices" is saying anything in regards to Japanese culture.
Also insisting that anyone who wanted the villains to be saved is disrespecting Japanese culture or opinions or whatever....I would like to ask where the fuck they think these tropes come from. Naruto says hi. Among others. We're not pulling these ideas out of thin air. They exist, WITHIN THIS MEDIUM, already. And MHA heavily resembles Naruto as is. So yeah. Idk, I'm not really reading anybody's bitch fits about the critics because I don't care. If they're happy then good for them. I'm not, and I'm not gonna pretend to be. I'm not trying to convince anybody to be mad with me. I'm really trying to make my peace with the manga and tell myself it's fiction, I can draw an ending I want later when I have the energy and motivation. I'll learn to live with it. If anybody has an issue with that then, well, they can argue with a wall.

My Hero Academia Chapter 421 - WE ARE HERE !!
YAYYYYY Kirishima is back into action !!!!!
I love everyone here
I'm so glad they're there for our Izuku
Now please, all listen to me : NOBODY DIES OKAY
OMG
Watashi ga kita !
ALL MIGHT, you did well inspiring so many people
now they'll all save the world
Okay so now he's trying to be all sentimental on us
we don't care my dude, you killed so many people, destroyed so many lives while enjoying it
if you really feel bad about Yoichi, it's just because you lost "your object" and not because you loved him
you spent your life destroying him and never listened to what he had to say
More body horror from AFO's body
really a guy full os hands and fingers and anything really
full of shit too
unlike Sero
OooOOo DOuble Todoroki attack !! I didn't think they had it in them
I swear to god if Bakugou makes a comeback (which would be so good, I'd love to see him end AFO twice) someone needs to do something and help him stop killing his body
So Sero is baby sitting Shouto, that's one of our murder babies, who will be baby sitting Deku and Ochaco ?
Kiri will probably be the one babysitting Katchan if he comes here
Stop trashtalking, Mic is dangerous
and your freaky limbs are probably too
but please
NIIIIICE
TRUE I FORGOT ABOUT THAT
GO DECK HIM DEKU
Aoyama is baby sitting Deku, coooool
and Izuku is nerding about a shirt
LEZGOOOO
Yayyyyyyyy
he runs
and Ochaco's meaning of the Deku kanji has taken form

If you were asked who is the better antagonist in JJK or BNHA, who would they be? I found some similar ask that asked, "who is better antagonists between Kenjaku, Toji or Sukuna"? And what I think about is the antagonist in BNHA are cool, too.... What do you think?
I can't tell if this is a comparative question of JJK vs BNHA or just generally the best of both soooo I'll try to answer to the best of my interpretation.
⚠️ There's a spoiler warning for the below, I'm just riding the struggle bus today so assume spoilers through recent chapters.
Jujutsu Kaisen
🏆 Best Antagonist: Kenjaku
The Competition
Don't get me wrong, Mahito and Toji are certified demons too but their impact on the story is not as expansive. Admittedly, this is kind of silly considering Toji and his justified denouncement of jujutsu culture is precisely what creates the chasm that informs the greater conflicts we're currently in the midst of. Personally, I think Toji will make one more comeback on the side of the good guys, somehow. It's not outside of the realm of possibility and, based on spoilers around Chapter 236, he's been potentially alluded to as some sort of insurance. Who else's father could Gojo have been talking about unless Jin is still alive?
Regarding Mahito, I think an interesting insight into his character is buried in one of the light novels. He mentions it in the fight with Yuji to a degree to in that he's a mirror of humanity. He rampages as he sees violence in the world. But when encountered by a human at peace, he, too, found peace and his interest piqued. Ultimately, Mahito was a knife in the heart that just kept twisting but he was nothing more than a rabid dog interested in seeing what kind of curse Yuji's turmoil might bring about. How many times could he rend his soul without laying a finger on him.
Kenjaku, however, is insidious in the fact that his power spans millennia and I don't think we've seen the full exposition of his impact. With his ability to commandeer bodies, he did whatever he wanted throughout history using the bodies of countless people and why? Sick curiosity. There's no rhyme, no reason, he just wants to see how big of a clusterfuck he can make of the world and, so far, we've only seen a few of the ripples of that. He is both unpredictable and, yet, exceptionally cunning and resourceful. Who knows how many back alley deals he made with the reincarnated sorcerers. How many other cursed paintings, artifacts or vessels he forged that haven't revealed themselves. Where Toji and Mahito kinda allowed themselves to fly off the handle, Kenjaku is playing a long game of chess. I've considered whether Geto was doomed by the narrative and, I think we'll find that Kenjaku was a part of what pushed Geto to his ultimate defect to better line up his next body. Scarily, Kenjaku had the time and means to plot where that possibility isn't that far off.
Sukuna, similarly cunning, is the villain of the story with all the traditional markers of being the big bad and, seemingly, unredeemable but Kenjaku effectively could have put the whole course of events into action a thousand years ago. I also always think its funny that Gojo randomly rattles off facts from other eras/periods. I don't know that that isn't by design either.
My Hero Academia
🏆 Best Antagonist: Dabi
The Competition
I think we've seen the resolution of Toga's story and, as far as antagonists go, she added a degree of mayhem on the final battlefield when, in mourning Twice, she let forth his Sad Man's Parade. While she has the quintessential recipe of being cast aside, misunderstood and vilified on the basis of her quirk (see also: Spinner and Shigaraki), I think she more served as a device for character development or a parallel to Deku. Having found acceptance with Ochako, her current status is unknown.
Spinner really had a big moment at the hospital but namely as a pawn for AFO. He kind of waffled around, wringing his hands over whether LOV was true to Stain's vision before choosing to follow Shigaraki. But his lack of resolve coupled with a forced power up ultimately fumbles what could have been a huge win for the LOV at the hospital. Actually, Spinner probably could have been utilized better but his story was overshadowed by Shoji coming into his own. Maybe his purpose was really just to be the real time example of someone wanting to do the right thing, ending up on the wrong side, having so many opportunities to do better but sacrificing that path for whatever acceptance he found with the League.
Shigaraki is an obvious choice for villain but, we can see how tenuous his connection to villainy is. He, like the other members of the LOV, are ultimately the product of never having someone reach out a hand to help but I think we're getting closer to Deku untangling the knot of his trauma and it'll be what frees him of the grasp AFO has on him. Further, while Shigaraki was ultimately dubbed the prodigal successor of AFO, his struggle to enact a grand scheme to unite the League and the Paranormal Liberation Front, I think, is more indicative of what we've noted to be a really immature mindset. He's no diabolical genius.
Which leads me to the best antagonist, in my opinion. Ain't no vengeance like that of Touya MF Todoroki. In addition to burying the lede of his identity for so long just to build up to one magnificent, triumphant dance, Dabi's origin story is so zesty. Born into the pinnacle Haves of quirk society, he was on track to follow in Endeavor's footsteps only to have so many odds stacked against him. The right quirk but incompatible with his body. Still, he wasn't deterred and his similarly obsessive commitment to besting All Might for Enji causes him to self destruct. He winds up in AFO's clutches. Found and rehabilitated by Garaki, he dips without so much as a name only to resurface years later. Still a phantom. Still guided by his twisted need to make his father just as miserable as he was when he found out he was not sought after despite the years that passed. Not only that but, spoiler for the big Shiggy Showdown (chapter number escapes me), but he is unaffected by the reconciliation of his family. Unbothered by their pleas or the fact that he'd burned through his own skin, nerves, pain receptors, organs. He is possessed by his need to wreak havoc and he cries tears of blood to boot. This doesn't undermine the tragedy of his origin story - his stolen birthright, the inequities of what should have been his given his quirk and tenacity, the fact that at the height of his power he can't help but cry. Just like the rest of the League of Villains, he is just the product of a family who did not adequately support or care for him and a society that cast him aside. He just also happens to have grander schemes at play, the exposition of which provided a more comprehensive understanding of hero society and its failures which was Shigaraki's desire all along to shift the whole paradigm. What sets Dabi apart from other antagonists, in my opinion, is that there really aren't villains in MHA. Just people waiting to be moved by how earnest Deku is or rehabilitated by their own recognizance. This is as it applies to Stain, Gentle Criminal, La Brava, Lady Nagant and even Overhaul (so I won't bother going into them individually). But Dabi stays 10 toes down on his commitment to madness. I'm still uncertain whether his charred corpse will actually see redemption but it stands to be seen.
All For One is of course the irredeemable demon lord and I'm not sure the power of friendship is going to affect anything there.
Winner Take All
Best Antagonist: Kenjaku. This largely stems from my belief that, despite his death in recent chapters, we're going to get additional exposition into his depraved dealings or another layer of his plans that lays in wait and is ready to devastate us all. The possibilities there are endless with the way the story oscillates from present to past.
Bonus, Best Villain: Gege Akutami. They know what they did.

In your Smite soulmate au is AFO actually really dead? Or will he make a surprise comeback like the canon mha universe?
oh he is absolutely not dead.
i'm trying not to stray too much from... the general overarching structure of... at least the first 1/3rd of mha. like obviously, some things are HUGELY different: usj doesn't happen because all might isn't a teacher and also. is a villain. society can't really start to fall apart from the loss of it's symbol of peace when there was no symbol of peace in the first place.
all might's final battle in muscle form will also probably look different? at the very least, his true form won't be exposed to the world because. well. then he'd likely be arrested and that's not the story i want to tell.
the league of villains will probably still exist? i have Plans for a few of its characters even if the league as we know it doesn't come together. mostly i'm just waffling on what to do with shigaraki, yknow?
when we get to mha proper, what i'm gonna be striving for is keeping that school life/hero life balance that the second half of mha just threw in the trash yknow? obviously a confrontation with afo will be inevitable because he's alive, but... yknow what im here for. toshi/reader and the kids they adopt along the way i mean what who said that

Thinking about the whole Izu vs Shig and how Izu will save him, now...I admit how this in paper sound lovely idea, sadly, the execution left much to be desired.
Many people, including the villains stans, are counting on Izu saving Shig aka "let him live" but here the problem...
Shig, dispite all...still wants destruction. Still havent change at all.
"Ah but he will use the talk no jutso"
First, its once again the narrative and fandom wants Izu to be the "pixie bunny" here. Why Izu needs to make peace with people who want to hurt him? Why he has to serve as therapist but at the same time...his pain is a joke for the fandom? Guys...Izu still thinks he is worthless....where is the fun in that.
Second, Izu knows shit about Shig. Literally nothing. Put in perspective here: Shig knows (and is ok with) Izu is quirkless and never even make a crude remark to Izu or anyone about it. Izu? He never even thought about Shig...Hori single him out to such degree many crucial infos are unknow by the mc.
"Ah but he could have know off screen"
That is not a good look for the story...this is important and we should see how Izu would react to knowing the story of Shig....which btw...WE READERS, THE CHARACTERS CANT KNOW. (No investigation on the Shimuras. No Words. Like even if "everyone hates Kotaro" sure people would say smth)
Third, Izu has no emotional conection to care for Shig...look, I ship them. I do. And I can imagine some people are giving me the stinky eyes or as some haters in the twitter...will try to say smth silly like "go read the manga" as if this is THE COMEBACK.
Show me a scene in the damn manga where Izu thought about Shig (before war arc) or wonder about him?
Show me a scene where Izu learn anything about Shig?
Shig has Izu in his mind(sorry IzuOchas but he has more chances than Ochako...ship and let ship but you guys have to admit Hori fumble and drop this ship without a second thought) but at the same time...does nothing. He never changes...but Hori masks that with "cool scene bruh"
Shig has cool scenes...the one where he waked up from the tube is epic. I admit that. Hell I love MVA(still baffled Izu doesnt even hear about Daika. A crater is made...no reaction from everyone) but ...those scenes add nothing.
Also...When Izu ever had a cool scene like that?
Oh yeah never.
"So you think Shig has no salvation?"
At this point, Izu and Shig should team up and end afo and rule Japan but this wont ever happen. How Izu will save Shig? Look I'm betting more on the power of love.
Srsly. Think about it. His family tried to stop him to take afo. They failed. His family failed on this regards.
Izu doesnt know shig enough to use the power of friendship....but the power of love ....is not out of possibility. "You have to live. How are we gone take our date?"
If MHA was better written, this could be ignored as just a delulu rant but...mha is written by Hori is not well written...so this makes sense.
That being said...also doubt it will happen.
Izu and Shig will be shit on until the end.
#izuku deserves better#hori is a bad writer#shigadeku#tomura shigaraki#ranting#nothing in this manga has a point#shig and izu will be shit until the end

I've been quiet about recent chapters mainly because real life has been busy and I'd rather use what remains of my energy to work on my fic instead of overanalyzing canon while it's in progress.
That being said, here are some moments of Class A supporting Izuku that I loved from Ch 422:
Aoyama's ☆sparkle☆ is back
Hagakure's demon grin (and the fact that she gets to do something badass without being turned into a joke)
Momo & Kaminari teamup!
Ojiro and Satou stepping in and telling Izuku to save his strength
The people in the crowd cheering for the other Class A kids (the girl Shouji saved, Tsuyu's siblings and parents, Mina & Kirishima's middle school friends)
Thinking back to the first time Izuku & Tsuyu teamed up at USJ and how he so easily calls her "Tsuyu-chan" now <3
The line that Izuku's weakness is actually a strength because it pushes others to keep standing back up to fight.
Iida appearing out of nowhere to push him forward, reminding him of their first day of school, tying everything back to Ochako's "Deku sounds like do your best"
Ochako in the helicopter whispering "ganbare" was framed so well with the overall composition of that spread, especially with All Might on opposite page and the line about Izuku being his greatest hero.
That last page of Inko cheering Izuku on was so good - how she is choosing to believe in him despite how terrified she must be, a deliberate contrast to when she let him down by not telling him that he could still be a hero when they found out he was quirkless.
Other random thoughts:
Lol. So now AFO can use rational thinking for his Omnifactor attack instead of just spamming all of his quirks like he did with Kacchan.
What does All Might have to do with the American pilots' ejector seats? Why is it only important now to try to keep losses at a minimum? I like how one of the pilots calls him out on that.
For some reason I thought noodle Edgeshot was smaller than that, but using the guy holding him as a size comparison he seems to be about the size of a housecat.
US prez deciding only now that it would be a good idea to send troops...yeah, a bit late dude, but I guess it's the thought that counts.
The repetition of 'ganbare' (頑張れ / がんばれ / ガンバレ) really drove home the point and I think it loses something in the translation, although I understand the desire to vary the wording to make it less repetitive and more fitting to the characters saying it.
Little Shouto panel amidst the chaos (better be a leadup to something more since he didn't even say anything here)
I still really want Ochako to join the final fight too even though this chapter is making it seem like she's out of the fight. Although she IS conscious again and we all know Great Explosion Murder God is gonna make his comeback, so I think we can suspend our disbelief for her too.
#i've also had mixed feelings about a lot of things happening recently but this chapter had some good moments#dancing girl's bnha thoughts

BnHA Chapter 260: GOD IS A WOMAN
Previously on BnHA: Virtually all of the known pro heroes in existence split into two big groups (each with its own weenie hut junior subgroup) to launch a massive surprise attack on the League of Pliff. Endeavor’s group, in Jakku, stormed the hospital where Ujiko works, which amazingly seemed to catch him completely off guard, so I guess we’ll see how that goes. Meanwhile off in the woods somewhere, Midnight’s group (ostensibly this is Edgeshot’s group, but I call it like I see it guys) prepared to attack the villains’ main HQ at the Overlook Hotel, while my infant son Kaminari Denki complained too loudly about being stuck on the front lines. Meanwhile the rest of 1-A (sans Tokoyami) is either tucked away safe in the woods, or perched just outside of Jakku ready to begin the citizen evacuation. I suggest that everyone enjoy this brief period where the good guys appear to be safe and victorious while it lasts.
Today on BnHA: MIRUKO!!! Okay lol. A lot happens in this chapter. Aizawa uses his quirk on Ujiko, who immediately starts melting away into a crispy-fried old man because apparently this motherfucker had the immortality quirk all along. And then Mic and Aizawa yell at him, and the other doctors are all “pardon us but what the fuck” and the heroes are all “NO TIME TO TALK, HE’S EVIL” and then we find out that Ujiko is a fucking Twice clone, so that’s just great. And the real Ujiko is of course down in the basement, along with LORD EVEN KNOWS HOW MANY HIGH END NOUMUS, and for a moment it honest to god looks like we’re screwed. But then MIRUKO, YOUR NEW FAVORITE CHARACTER, KICKS DOWN ALL THE FREAKING DOORS AND FLATTENS POOR JOHN-KUN AND IS ALL “BOOM, YOU LOOKING FOR THIS?”, and let me tell you guys, FOR A MOMENT I SAW TRUTH. Anyway so next chapter she’s probably going to have to fight zombie Jeanist or something, but for now? Life is good. REMEMBER THIS DAY.
so just like last week, before I get started I’m gonna do a quick follow-up on chapter 259. really, Viz’s version wasn’t all that different from the fan scanlation this time around, so this will mostly just be reactions to things I didn’t notice and that other people pointed out
first off, a couple people mentioned that the thing Mic is holding up appears to be some kind of throat spray. which seems to track, so I’ll just say again that I have a very morbid curiosity about whether or not Mic could actually kill someone with his quirk. and this curiosity has only intensified since my google search
so yeah. will we ever get to see something like this?? STAY TUNED
also, I got a couple of conflicting answers about Naomasa’s quirk. someone said his quirk was lie-detecting, but another person said that’s actually his sister’s (LOL I HAD NO IDEA THERE WAS A NAOSIS, I REALLY SHOULD JUST READ VIGILANTES) quirk. and I never actually followed up on that lol sooooo. let me just do that real quick
okay so he doesn’t have a quirk listed on the wiki, but it says that his codename (??) is “True Man.” so that does seem to imply that his quirk is similar if not identical to his sister’s quirk, which is indeed a truth quirk (Polygraph). although the “she can’t detect a lie if the person is relaxed” seems to call this ability into doubt a bit. still pretty powerful though I guess
moving on now, last but not least let’s discuss the most relevant and controversial thing that happened this past week. (incidentally, I added an ETA about this to the previous chapter recap a couple hours after I first posted it, so in case you don’t what the asks below are referring to, it’s that.)
so... I have mixed feelings about this. thing is, after reading up on it, it seems like the fans who were most upset were those from China, Korea, etc., which is actually completely understandable given the historical context. Japan doesn’t exactly have a great track record with being sensitive about all of the horrific shit their military got up to during WWII, so while I still believe that Horikoshi wasn’t intending to be disrespectful, I can understand them not being inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt
that being said, I keep thinking about this tweet by aitaikimochi:
and despite what Horikoshi said in his apology tweets (about how he didn’t intend for the name to be associated with that particular historical connection), I still can’t help but think that he absolutely did intend to reference Unit 731, with the intent of (a) linking it to this vile, disgusting piece of shit character as a commentary, and (b) perhaps subtly pushing some of his Japanese readers who have never heard about this particular part of history to learn more about it. like, I know he offered up some dubious explanation about it being a reference to Ujiko’s rotund nature, but that seems really iffy to me tbh. that’s one hell of a coincidence if that’s really the case. idk
and you know what else -- and here’s where I’m really whipping out the conspiracy goggles -- I also can’t help but suspect that the decision to go back and change the name in the volume release is coming more from Shueisha (who I half-suspect weren’t themselves aware of the “maruta” name association until this blew up) than from him. because unfortunately this seems to be the standard Japanese PR response any time this subject comes up -- offer a vague statement of regret, and immediately proceed to wipe any mention of the subject from existence. because god forbid people actually talk about this or acknowledge that it happened
and so ultimately, while I do empathize with those who were upset by the name, I think it’s unfortunate that this is just getting swept back under the rug so quickly and will no doubt be forgotten about within a couple of months, because my gut feeling is that Shueisha was ultimately more concerned about what their Japanese readership might think about the controversy than what the Chinese and Korean fans thought. I could be wrong about that, and maybe also giving Horikoshi too much benefit of the doubt, but meh :/
anyway! so now that we’ve gotten that topic out of the way, let’s see how many pages it will take before the heroes finally realize just how much of an “oh fuck” situation they’ve gotten themselves into!
so the cover page is Hawks and Endeavor, but more importantly (to me), it establishes that this is indeed a hotel/resort and not a mansion, as the readheroaca team randomly translated it as last week. like does that look like any mansion you’ve ever seen. come on now
anyway so now my question is what happens if someone actually tries to stay at this hotel. do they just book that shit on trivago and enjoy a week up in the mountains surrounded by very strange but seemingly nice people, and just never suspect a thing? like, Gigantomachia lives in the basement here. I’m just saying. how dense can these hypothetical travelers be
also the hotel is apparently 80km from the hospital, or about 50 miles for us troglodytes who still use the imperial system. so pretty safe to say neither team will be able to provide backup to the other in this case. I will try not to think about this
so now Ujiko, the man without a name, is screaming while Endeavor and his group just STAND THERE LIKE TWENTY FEET AWAY. what the fuck
I swear to god he looked so much closer in the previous chapter. WHAT ARE YOU GUYS DOING. HE’S GOT NOUMUS IN THE BASEMENT!! CAN YOU FUCKING ARREST HIS ASS ALREADY
YESSSS AIZAWA
what are the odds that the next panel features Aizawa Shouta looking more pissed off than we’ve ever seen him. oh my god. it’s probably going to be hot af. I’m not sure I’m ready
booooooo
that is more or less the opposite of hot af. Horikoshi why you gotta do me like that
well well WELL!
you mean to say Mr. Innocent Quirkless Philanthropist isn’t actually quirkless?? even though he wasn’t actually innocent?? and he wasn’t actually a philanthropist either?? well I am just SHOCKED. who saw this coming. how could this happen
also for real this is creeping me the fuck out though
it does make sense though. I just can’t picture AFO entrusting so much of his operation to this dude if he actually was quirkless. because he’d view someone without a quirk as being lesser/inferior. so Ujiko almost had to have something up his sleeve. although it’s possible he could have been granted a quirk, rather than being born with one I suppose
!!!!
DO NOT TELL ME THIS MOTHERFUCKER HAS THE FUCKING IMMORTALITY QUIRK. WHAT THE FUCK. IS HE JUST GOING TO SHRIVEL UP INTO NOTHING. NO FUCKING WAY HE GOES DOWN THAT EASY WHAT THE HELL
(ETA: and does this mean that if Aizawa ever visits AFO and uses his quirk on him, AFO will also instantly age like 200 fucking years? could that actually kill him?)
duuuuude. Nao’s speculating about whether the Noumus’ regeneration ability actually stems from this quirk. ...but that can’t be the case, can it? otherwise AFO would have been able to heal his injuries from the battle with All Might. we know for a fact he’s known Ujiko for at least 15 years. but still, either way it’s still one hell of a powerful quirk
which now seems to be unraveling before our very eyes. uh...
anyone else getting Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade vibes? “he chose... poorly”
oh MY GOD!!
do it Mic do it do it do it
oh my god. well he’s not killing him with his voice, but instead this is happening
nooo Mic. I need you to be less anguished and more murdery. I don’t want feels yet!! goddammit
I mean it’s not asking for too much, is it? I just want a teensy little bit of satisfaction before the shit hits the fan. just torture him a little bit. just a little!
oh hey some doctors are intervening because the heroes look like psychopaths right now
s2g if one of these fuckers gets in between Ujiko and Aizawa’s line of sight and he fucking gets away -- !! oh my god. I can’t fucking take this. ffdffjjjk I’m so anxious you guys, I could never be a hero the stress is too much
so instead of explaining it to these rightfully concerned people, the heroes are just pushing them aside and telling them to stand back. and like, on the one hand I get it. they’re on the clock, they have to eliminate John-kun before the hotel villains get wind of the attack, and they don’t have time to explain an entire series’s worth of backstory to everyone who asks about it. but on the other hand, I also just want them to shout “HE EXPERIMENTED ON CHILDREN AND CORPSES AND CREATED THE NOUMUS!” or something. just so they know. I need them to know goddammit
but at least the patients seem to all be pretty chill about it lmao
-- holy shit. okay, three things
that panel with them moving the beds is my favorite
the panel with Tora holding this one guy who’s suddenly IN LOVE is also my favorite. oh man. Tora you are the manliest
combat with the WHAT DID YOU SAY NOW
so they knew?? well that sure fucking explains why Endeavor made the executive decision to keep his son and the other kids as far away as possible. but also, what? so like they must not realize that there are more high ends, then. right? or else they surely would not be so casual about this
holy shit?!
just how thorough was this investigation?? I really need to stop underestimating the heroes huh. should have learned my lesson after Kamino. these guys do their homework. it’s just that there’s always some one last thing that they failed to account for
so what is it going to be then in this case? Tomura is the one controlling them now? shitttttt
oh god. yeah, Miruko’s just casually kicking down the mortuary door and she’s all “we know who’s controlling them!” so I assume they believe that it’s Ujiko. which is honestly what I myself assumed up until about ten seconds ago, so fair enough
SDKFJLSKHGLK THERE IT IS
hot. a. f. just like I said. excuse me sir but there are laws against smoking in a hospital. because you’re smoking. get it. ...it’s because you’re hot. ...yes sir I’m sorry sir I will stop now
so Ujiko is sobbing and screaming “let me go!!” and okay but where is Present Mic? do you see, Mic. this is what I wanted, okay. but it’s all right, I understand that you were upset
ohhhhhhhhhh ffffuuuu
Endeavor with a worried look and lots of dots followed by an exclamation point, and then a closeup of Ujiko’s mouth looking surprisingly sinister as he reiterates for them to let him go. I’M SURE THIS IS ALL FINE. WE’RE ALL FINE. THAT’S OKAY HORIKOSHI, YOU CAN END THE CHAPTER HERE, IT’S GOOD. WE GOT LIKE WHAT, EIGHT PAGES? THAT’S PLENTY, REALLY
FUFFFFFFF NO MIRUKO DON’T GO FLYING INTO THE VOID! THE VOID IS BAD
HOLY SHIT
jesus christ. Miruko does the exact same thing as Katsuki where she sees a wall and she’s all “FUCK YEAH.” goddamn. it honest to god gave me a boost of confidence even as I watched her announce that THE NOUMU ARE DOING THE EXACT FUCKING THING SHE JUST SAID THAT THEY WOULDN’T BE ABLE TO DO
and also that is 100% a black Noumu there on the right side. so confirmed, the big guns are here too
HOLY SHIT TIMES TWO
THIS FUCKING HOSPITAL REALLY HAD THE FUCKING ASTEROID WORM FROM EMPIRE STRIKES BACK IN THE FREAKING BASEMENT, AND YOU ALL COULDN’T FUCKING DETECT THAT?? GET BETTER DETECTING TECHNOLOGY YOU DUMB HEROES
but nice save, Aizawa!! I personally would not have had such quick reflexes upon being confronted by a giant monster lunging out of the floor to stick out its multipronged DRILL TONGUE WHICH IS ALSO ITS BRAIN, haha. can someone please check on Horikoshi to make sure he is doing all right. I have some concerns about the mind that drew this
holy shit the drill tongue Noumu is actually drilling into Ujiko. like there’s blood and stuff
-- SHIT
THIS IS WHY YOU HAVE THE DAMN GOGGLES YOU ASSHOLE!! “BUT MAKESTE YOU WERE THE ONE WHO WANTED ME TO TAKE THEM OFF SO THAT I COULD LOOK HOT.” WELL JUST LOOK AT HOW WELL THAT TURNED OUT! THIS IS WHY YOU SHOULD NEVER LISTEN TO ME
(ETA: well it turned out not to matter BUT STILL.)
lmao Endeavor looks so fucking mad
“THIS IS WHY YOU HAVE THE DAMN GOGGLES YOU ASSHOLE.” I know, right?!
...aaaaaand this is happening
lol. good job @blessedgirthma you called it. it’s a clone! hahaha, fuck
and so the bad man lives to see another day. bets on who will eventually be the one to take him out? just remember how long that list is. lots of enemies, Ujiko. you’ll get yours
but right now I guess we have some other things to worry about
by the way we best pray to god that it was Twice who made that clone and not Ujiko himself, because if Ujiko has managed to replicate that ability on top of everything else, we can truly kiss the world goodbye
but anyway! so that’s Noumu!Tomura confirmed then, in my book. and there are the 11! does this mean they’re not at the hospital?? all I know is they had better not be out on the outskirts of the city where my babies are
also is Ujiko talking to himself here. it almost seems like his words are coming out of the clone’s mouth. but Twice doesn’t have that kind of clone puppeteering ability. so then who is this guy bragging to. -- oh my god can he see us
lmao he’s plopping into his science chair and zooming halfway across the room
don’t misunderstand me though, one panel of being super relatable does not make up for a lifetime of horrific and nauseating crimes
-- THERE ARE MORE VATS!!! HOLY SHIT
THERE ARE MORE VATS. THERE ARE MORE VATS
there is at least one more row than I recall seeing in that previous chapter way back when. so even more high ends. in addition to the 12 (11 considering Endeavor subsequently fried one) we previously saw
and also I just realized, he did say “this” hospital. meaning he is still in the basement? so these guys are still right under their noses, then? oh god oh god so much to process and all of it is terrible god
GAAAAAAASPPP
MILADY!!!!!
holy shit. you guys. what the fuck. the hell was All Might thinking going to U.A. to pick a student successor when Miruko was right fucking there. like I’m just saying??
and also, fuck me he is getting away
OH MY GOD
SHE FUCKING MURDERED POOR JOHN-KUN JUST LIKE THAT WHAAAAAT. YOU GUYS I CAN’T BELIEVE MIRUKO IS THE NEW MAIN CHARACTER OF BNHA, TIMES ARE WILD
lmao and that’s the end of the chapter. holy shit. all I need is for her to say “I am here!” and I’m set. I leave it in your capable hands. why was she not in charge to begin with. number five hero my ass!! smdh for real though guys lol

bakugou’s heart exploding BEFORE AFO attacks him is interesting. from an outside perspective, to everyone on that battlefield and everyone who hears about it, AFO is who killed bakugou, but we know that it’s bakugou who killed himself before AFO landed the fatal blow on him. we also see allmight’s vestige beforehand, so that has to mean bakugou is involved in some OFA stuff rn
AFO saw the second user before he pierced bakugou. he was determined to kill him right then and there, quaking in his boots at the thought of this second user 2.0 coming after him again with increased power and speed that even he’s having trouble keeping up with. his anxiety and anger around bakugou means the second must have been one hell of a pain in the ass to kill/get rid of, whatever his quirk may have been (and also through his will to win, much like bakugou).
if bakugou is affected by that quirk now, and comes back (as i’m assuming the second did many times) then it’s going to be so satisfying to see bakugou make a comeback and piss him off again. get his ass, bakugou!
but this is also interesting because of deku’s reaction, because bakugou has a big ass “hypocrite” sign with arrows pointing at him now.
let’s see, in this battle bakugou is focused on keeping everyone safe, charges to attack ShigAFO despite jeanist telling him not to, and ultimately meets a fate that no one is able to protect him from due to him going in alone
look familiar?
bakugou sure seems to think so, too.
but you know what he told deku in the second war, and again during his apology/speech when they went to retrieve him?
so how do you think deku would feel at first glance believing that bakugou was killed due to AFO after telling everyone that they couldn’t keep up and worrying for their lives and that AFO was going to take them away from him, but instead seeing him in the vestige world and coming to find out that bakugou died doing exactly what he warned deku NOT to do, what everyone was trying to prevent him from doing by carrying this burden with him, after bakugou JUST said that to win that includes saving everyone and making up for each other’s weaknesses when they can’t handle everything on their own?
angry? sad? frustrated?
there’s gotta be a fuck ton of different emotions, since he’d also blame himself due to him being snatched away before hand and not being there with him, but also AFO was relentlessly targeting bakugou to kill him (swatting others away, and their attacks weren’t working either) in order to make deku rage and steal his power regardless of bakugou doing doing what he did, so really what choices would bakugou have if the others couldn’t protect him and he would’ve died regardless? he might as well have still made sure he could still be there/by deku’s side even if it’s not physically, right?
whew boy, i’m anticipating his reaction so bad

Do you want Oboro to make a comeback in the manga? Or do you think that'd be rude to Kurogiri?
I have mixed feelings about this.
I feel like people commonly refer to Kurogiri and Oboro as 2 different people. But I really don't see them that way.
Going purely by what we see in the show, let's be real here, Kurogiri's personality that is shown is very little.
From what we see in the show, he's formal and well-spoken, he's sinister, and he cares about Tomura.
But we slowly learn that this person does not have the free will we thought he did. And the personality that is there is influenced by who he used to be.
Even though Oboro is dead, he's not gone. In a way, he's present.
I see Kurogiri as Oboro. Just, traumatized.
His mind and body have all been tampered with and conditioned. And the part that hasn't been taken away from him is a remnant of when he did have freedom.
Kurogiri, to me, is a victim of AFO. Oboro being there does NOT take away from his character. It literally only adds to it.
The Kurogiri we've seen thus far is a (somewhat) successful project.
Oboro is now Kurogiri. He's been conditioned and transformed into that. Kurogiri is just a present version of Oboro. He's a victim of the Doctor and AFO's efforts.
The point I'm trying to make here is accepting the fact that Kurogiri was forced into this is important. And the modifications done to him have made sure he stays that way. Kurogiri IS Oboro, just hurt.
Now. With that in mind on the way I see this character's situation, I would love Kurogiri to be free. I would love to see him have his memory and control back, I would love for him to remember the pain he went through mentally and physically. I would love for this character to be happy and himself. (And no this does not mean for his entire experience as Kurogiri to be erased, trust me I love the league as a family so this is the last thing I want lmao. But he is who AFO wanted him to be, I want him as who he is freely.)
BUT. With the way I'm seeing the Manga go, I do not feel it'll take its time on letting Oboro heal and have self-discovery. Or give Kurogiri freedom.
I think there's simply not enough time for there to be a proper conclusive satisfying arc for this character.
Either Oboro won't shine through Kurogiri anymore and simply becomes a properly buried past and Kurogiri goes on to continue fighting the heroes and dies.
or
Kurogiri does not wake up again at all and dies.
or
Oboro is given free will again but they fully separate Kurogiri from his character so he's completely back to normal because they don't have time to give him an actual arc.
or
It's a mixture where we see him slowly go through self discovery and accept who he is BUT it's only implied and not shown thoroughly or not shown his self-discovery as finished by the time the show has ended. Only that he's progressing.
or
we don't get any updates on him, and he's still comatose by the time the manga is done.
tldr; I see Kurogiri as a traumatized Oboro and want him to have freedom again and accept who he is but also can say that this idea is mostly up to fanfic authors because the manga probably has no time to expand on his character.
#follower 7 answers#also. please respect this viewpoint lmao#i've already seen multiple ppl on twitter shit on Kurogiri's past#Kurogiri is literally my favorite villain#and him having an angst filled backstory only makes things better#I love my incorporeal parental bartender#and i want him to find happiness and save his angst filled son#but... thats mostly just my self indulgence.. hori wouldn't be that nice#shirakumo oboro#oboro shirakumo#kurogiri#kuroboro

So with Lady Nagant’s backstory revealed, the...odd take of the week seems to be: ‘Why is she working with AFO and the villains if she was a hero and wants to stop killing? Isn’t she acting like a hypocrite? Shouldn’t she be working with the other guys?’ To be polite as possible, I find these takes really fail to see her point of view and the options really available to her. So I wanted to go over those things to explain her actions
To her; If Hero Society is brought back in full, that’ll inevitable include the assassin shadow agents that will kill in perpetuity because they are used to maintain, not to change. She really doesn’t want that, and any chance at stopping the return of the Commission and the perpetual assassinations might be worth it to her.
So with that in mind, what exactly are her options going forward, as she’d be aware of right out of Tartarus?
Work with the heroes to bring back peace and, in the process, restore the corrupt system that lots of people died under and that she hated so much & was jailed for rebelling against. You can see why that’s not happening.
Sit things out and just see what happens. If she became a hero, she’s probably not the type to see that as appealing.
Work with the villains currently running rampant & ride the waves of anarchy in the hopes of preventing Hero Society/the Commission’s comeback and just maybe making a new society not run on assassin shadow agents. Somehow, this is her best course of action.
See on paper, revolution is all about changing things, so nothing you do to change things really has to happen forever. That’s how guys like Spinner justify their actions too. To Nagant, even if she does about as much bad, or worse, as she did under the Commission, it could be seen as all worth it if working with the villains can possibly end the killings some day; something that’ll never happen with the Commission back.
Now is this “best course of action” a good course of action? I’d argue not, and she could probably do with instead trying to find actually like-minded individuals and going from there. The more power & leverage you have, the less you need to resort too. Unfortunately, the PLF is still in jail, except for Spinner’s group who are stuck babysitting ol’ sleeping Shiggy. So for now, working with AFO is sadly the best path towards her goals available to her. For her sake, I hope that changes soon.

I'm so confused what AFO plan is. If he uses erasure to stop the rewind when he is at his "prime stage" what is the point of Shigaraki then. Would he then steal the original quirk back from Shigaraki. I hope not. Because I think it would take away from Deku breaking him free
I can tell you right now that it is very unlikely, and doesn't even sort of look that Shigaraki will be set free before he is saved (before him and Midoriya talk).
Currently, because ShigAFO has the original AFO quirk, it has to be him who steals OFA.
So that's what ShigAFO is still useful for.
I don't know if OFA will ever actually be taken, but I have a feeling that ShigAFO still continuing to try to steal OFA will be what brings us to the climax of the Shigaraki/Midoriya conflict. Because if you remember during the war arc what brought them into the vestige plane was ShigAFO almost taking OFA:
So the pathway to that scenario is still very much present. The circumstances for that to happen haven't changed.
AFO making a comeback was always, always, ALWAYS a part of my prediction for this ending battle. Because he's the unstoppable force behind everything, not Shigaraki.
We know how AFO views people who he thinks are beneath him:
So I’m led to believe that Shigaraki won’t be treated any differently once he’s set free and, well, doesn’t want to steal OFA. Or maybe already has because when he was still possessed he managed to do so. But when he gets OFA, original AFO can get his own quirk back and dispose of Shigaraki. Which is another conflict, and if the pattern follows through, will be where the group effort to help comes into play.
So let me put it into a timeline to see if I can make it make sense. This is one way it COULD play out:
ShigAFO and Midoriya come face to face somehow, eventually
ShigAFO manages to almost (or fully?) steal OFA, sending them to the vestige plane like it did in the war arc
Midoriya does his thing with Shigaraki in there, setting him free from the parasitic AFO quirk that is eating away at him and feeding off his hatred, negative emotions, etc.
Shigaraki is set free, and no longer wants follow what AFO laid out for him; sides with Midoriya and company
Original AFO decides that because of this, Shigaraki’s body is no longer necessary and takes his original quirk back to either steal OFA himself—or in the scenario that it really was stolen—no longer needs a Shigaraki that won’t bend to AFO’s every whim.
AFO tries to kill Shigaraki—-> sparking the FINAL final battle where it’s AFO and his remaining followers against the League and heroes teamed up
That's obviously incredibly specific and doesn't have to go that way, and I left out the other League's stuff because they have their own shit going on. But that's just to show that with the details we have, the conflict Shigaraki has to face within himself is still there.
His biggest obstacle is still himself and his own distorted thoughts toward himself, and the effect those thoughts have on his recently uncovered memories. He still has to fight his way through all of that mental turmoil before he can heal.
Now of course there is the possibility that AFO just sets him free before all of that, and takes his original quirk back before Midoriya does his thing. But that feels very very unlikely, because the conflict/challenge with Tomura/Tenko's identity being erased is a big part of his overall arc:
So while it's technically possible, it's not likely at all imo. And would only erase a lot of the present conflict for his character and just...leave him in limbo.
I know some people would prefer he be set free and he can just continue being villain Tomura Shigaraki, but that's not the trajectory his character arc has been following, so I'm not convinced it'll go that way.

i dont mean to sound like a bastard but i dont see how hisashi's fitting in right now, and im saying it as someone who really wants this to happen, too :( its just even if he's somehow important to the plot or to deku, nobody has mentioned him in any way except like unimportant facts that he's working abroad and breathes fire. his comeback would feel out of place for me personally? like? dude wtf where u been? why u here? no need. i mean yeAH i want to see him and all but idk storywise h o w
horikoshi said he’s coming into the story two years ago and i KNOW he didnt forget so im either on this agenda until he shows up or until the series dies whichever comes first
but honestly, depending on what horikoshi does with deku once he wakes up, i think there is potential for trying to squeeze hisashi in. he could (finally) have come home after not only hearing about izuku, but the state the entirety of japan is in, and be worried for his family. he could be part of a government branch of sorts, maybe something that would make him have minimal contact with his family. maybe he’s a grade a wuss who finally heard about his son and everything he’s accomplished, and could come back as a means of riding his coattails. maybe hes even a villain (not afo hopefully) and would serve as something on a deeper, more personal level for izuku, especially now as izuku is going to be struggling and wanting to figure out what makes villains into villains, like he said last chapter.
we dont know the bond izuku has with his dad and you’re right in saying that we know nothing about him - but that makes the mystery all the more better. if done right he could provide deku with some really solid development.

Is Stain Coming Back?
Okay so sense Stain’s my favorite character and there’s a chance he could be coming back into the story soon with the prison break arc coming up, I’ve been thinking about how things could go for him. Unfortunately given the current, everyone's dying thing, going on right now, I don’t really expect anything really good. So here’s a list of possible ways Stain’s part in the story could go, ranked from worst to best, IMO.
1. Worst of the worst, Stain and All Might die during the prison break.
2. He dies off screen. We are shown the destroyed prison and are told he was among the casualties. Maybe we get to see his bloody hand under some rubble.
3. He gets killed by a High End in a single page.
4. Gets killed by a guard while trying to escape.
5. AFO kills him without any effort. Stain doesn’t like Shigaraki and doesn’t seem the type to want to join AFO. He tries to stop him or confront him in some way and gets absolutely bodied.
6. The little character he had gets retconned and he joins AFO because he now agrees with his methods.
7. He’s forced to join AFO to save his life.
8. Isn’t mentioned at all.
9. Tries to take down AFO because he heard about him from his previous talk with All Might and knows AFO has and will continue to hurt All Might if he escapes. Still gets easily killed but gets a small inner monologue about how he tried to be a Hero like he always wanted.
10. All Might is at the prison, talking to him when the prison break happens. AFO leaves the a High End to deal with All Might because he’s not focused/ to busy to deal with him himself anymore (also insulting All Might’s weak state). Stain steps in and saves All Might, but then dies due to injuries. Says something about how he’s happy he got save someone at least once in his life, and maybe we get a panel of little Stain excitedly watching an All Might video like Izuku used to.
11. He gets away and his whereabouts are unknown. This is only a good option for me depending on how he’d comeback into the story later.
12. Same as 10, except he lives.
These are my best guess as to what’s the most likely to happen, though alot of my best scenarios are the most unlikely. I think it’s sadly safest to think he’ll either get killed off screen, making it so he can’t talk to All Might or they had talked earlier and we get a flash back to it, or AFO/ a High End kills him in a page or two.
Personally, I keep my expectations low so I’m not super disappointed but, no matter what if if he dies I’ll be sad. I just hope that if he does he gets a better death then poor Midnight did, sense she was absolutely robbed of a meaningful death (though I’m mad she died in the first place).
#bnha stain#bnha spoilers#akaguro chizome#hero killer stain#All Might#I really hope that All Might doesn't die too#I really like him to#and losing both would super hard#plus story wise I think it'd be stupid#All Might's character arc is about him learning how to live even if he's not physically strong anymore#it'd be weird if he died#especially during the prison break#i just hope we don't get an off screen thing for Stain#Though I think it's very possible#:( sad

The great book of sayings
PAIRINGS: Tomura Shigaraki x FemReader
SUMMARY: He looks at you, his scarlet eyes fixed on yours, burning a hole through your head, every bit the predator he is, but you are as tough as it gets, so, against your better judgment and any well-founded logic, you answer his silent threat, the animalistic look he gives you with nothing less than a fearless smirk, irises burrowing into his pupils.A clever girl. He thinks, finally labeling you inside his head, cursing himself in the very moment he allows his brain to think of you as more than an asset. He is sure (he knows himself enough to know) he’ll think of this moment many times from now on.A clever pretty girl.
Reader is a typical college student until she gets herself tangled with the league of villains.
WARNINGS: Unhealthy/complicated relationships, violence, Tomura being Tomura, mentions of murder, heroes’ abuse of power, smut later.
A/N: I’m trying so hard to write crusty boy here really in character. At least after AfO is taken. Any misspelled words, english is not my native language so i’m trying Helen.
_______________________________________________________
Chapter 7 / Chapter 8
Familiarity breeds contempt.
Three days became four, then five. The hours flowing between your fingers and before you know it’s been two weeks and three days already.
Not that your will ask them to go. You were pretty sure the little trembling harmony that reigns in your home is as fragile as you decide by asking the wrong question.
To say you are comfortable would be rich, at least. They are a band of murderers, meanwhile you were just a student, but you would be lying if you didn’t accept the fact that the wave of fear had subdue to become some mild annoyance.
The thing is that the famous league of villains is as human as can be. Surely, they are insane, powerful, and menacing, but they also eat, and sleep, and they watch tv and smile when they are happy.
So here you are, getting in tune with their antics. Like how Magne likes to use your flowery shampoo because smells nice and it makes her feel pretty, or that Mr. Compress drinks his milk with honey before sleep.
So, you try your best to remember place and time, but then Toga asks you to paint her nails and asks if she can brush your hair because she wants so desperately to be your friend that something in your heart breaks a little when you remember that she’s just an abandoned child, with no other feminine figure to guide her. (Magne does what she can, but she also faces different kinds of struggle.)
Something in you began to soften to them and you simply cannot help it. Maybe is the little girl in you who wanted to be a hero but saw it impossible.
That’s how you end asking Spinner about his swords, both of you watching some tv program about forging historical weapons, and sharing about your parent’s death with Jin, who cries for you and hugs your tightly telling everyone he’s so happy to have a friend like you.
You end up buying vitamins and oranges for them because no one getting scurvy under your watch. Patching their injures and making some fast clinical examination of them, just to discover some of them are underweight, scrawny, and sharp. So, you cook for them, and made two beds in the living room because you’ve always had a soft spot for broken things and lost causes and somehow, you really want to make them feel nice, and you are no longer sure if this is about your survival or theirs.
Then is Tomura.
You can feel the attraction growing wild inside of you. How your eyes look for his figure inside the house and how you care about what he thinks of you or what he likes.
He’s not helping either, not when he insists on playing chess with you between playful back and forth, or sometimes just sits behind you in the kitchen counter to watch you cook. Silent until he’s not, asking “what’s that” when he sees you putting some spices in the pot.
He’s a curious cat. A fast learner and problem solver. Quick to intuition and creativity.
And you like the way his hair falls wet over his shoulders, clearing away from his face after he showers, looking less like a vagabond and more like a boy.
It’s awful and you know it. You can recognize a crush from a mile away and yours is there pulsing alive for everyone to watch.
The sad part is the what if.
Sometimes Toga asks things. Random things about medicine, about history, about books, and you cannot help it but to vomit everything you know about the subject because you are a scholar above everything else.
Those are the moments when Shigaraki will look at you from the corner of his ruby eyes, attentively listening and absorbing anything you say, siting quietly in a corner of the room, playing with his phone. Then he’ll hear something that catches his interest, asking you about it, his questions always interesting and more complex than Toga’s.
It saddens you to think of him as a student. His brilliance shining under the lights of proper education and love. What positive reinforcement and care could have done for him. Not that you know anything about Shigaraki, but there is no way a loving family could produce such person (not when you are more than sure that he’s clinically depressed), so your bets are on violence and abandonment.
What brilliant career could have achieved, what kind of things would he create, instead of just brutal destruction and (you suspect this one) raw self-loathing.
So, you dream of him sometimes.
You can see him wearing more than just a worn-out coat, a backpack hanging from his shoulder and his soft features clean and properly cared for. What he should look without the dry skin, the slouching and the eyebags.
You can imagine him crossing paths with you on campus, siting with you in the cafeteria, laughing youthfully, his persona free of the heavy weight of his wicked gestures, product of a life expended celebrating too much spite.
Maybe you would have meet him in other circumstances. A “friend of a friend” in some shitty party, the kind of boy that smiles when speaking, sharing some smart-ass joke, his witty speech making you laugh, making you fall.
Just like now.
“so, how do you know a quirk is a mutation?” Toga ask while you read some article in your laptop.
“well, most of them have a base or function as a variety of some primordial quirk. Those that are mutations simple work outside the norm and tend to be very dangerous for the everyone, including the holder, because as the mutation is a completely new expression of genetics, the rest of the body is still adapting to the evolutionary crescendo. That and, well…mutants have a very distinct look because the gene that comes with the mutation, also alters the expression of other common things like melatonin production.”
“Oh! I remember that! We saw it at school…with the Mendeleyev system.”
“exactly!” You say, but Toga isn’t done with the questions and you don’t stop the conversation before-
“so, how do they look? The mutants. How do they look.”
“well, they all have silver hair and red eyes.”
They look at the corner of the kitchen and only then you realize what you’ve done.
“Congratulations, Shigaraki. You are officially a fucking freak.” Dabi says from the couch, but Shigaraki doesn’t answer his provocation. He just keeps playing in his phone, the only sign of acknowledge is an arched brow.
It rubs you wrong. As much as anybody is okay with it, you hate the words that leave his mouth.
Maybe is the fact that he’s making fun of someone’s looks, or maybe is because hearing someone being called a freak sends you back to high school when your classmates told you that you were a fucking creep with that evil quirk of yours (or maybe is the stupid crush speaking) but it makes you angry, so before you can think of it, you spat.
“blue eyes are a mutation too, so you are no one to talk about it.”
Twice laughs at the comeback, but before you could taste your little win, Dabi makes sure to answer back because he’s being dying to fight you the moment he set a foot on your apartment.
“that was bold for a quirkless little bitch.”
You laugh astonished, deciding you will not acknowledge the fact he (very wrongly) thinks you quirkless.
“A quirkless little bitch? Seriously, Dabi? Where you raised in a fucking barn that you know nothing but fuck this and bitch that?
“yeah. I know stupid cunt too.” He barks referring to you.
“Dabi, cut it out.” Shigaraki snaps to no avail.
“Hey! We agree in no insults!” Compress try to quiet the fight down, but neither of you pays attention.
“I’m sure you do. Pretty useful to describe yourself I bet.”
“you sure like to bet, like how you are betting I don’t burn you alive for being an annoying bitch.” He threatens looking at the chess game still on the kitchen table, getting quickly into your nerves.
“Guys-“Toga fails to intercede.
“Fuck off, Dabi. This might be shocking for you, but you don’t scare me.”
“now, that’s pretty fucking stupid of you.”
“Dabi, shut up!” Shigaraki growls done, but you are not paying attention to him, so you keep pushing into the fight.
“I’m not the one insulting everyone just because I cannot deal with some fucking daddy issues.”
“YOU DON’T KNOW SHIT” he snarls before kicking the little table in your living room, breaking one of its legs.
“CUT IT OUT! I don’t have to know when it’s plainly obvious you have problems with authority.”
“you really think you are so clever, don’t you?” he states, crossing the living room, aiming to you.
“Dabi, get the fuck out!” this time Shigaraki yells.
“I know I am, asshole!”
He stops his tracks, looming over you. His eyes scanning your face before looking at Shigaraki, who suddenly stands beside you.
Dabi laughs darkly.
“stupid woman. You should know better.”
And then…he just slaps your laptop out of the table; the computer smashing open against the cemented ground.

For the writing meme: 18 and 20?
18: Do any of your stories have alternative versions? (plotlines that you abandoned, AUs of your own work, different characterisations?) Tell us about them. Ohhhhhh so for Complicated Creation, one of my initial ideas was that after the Spirit Realm, Aizawa would give Izuku his contact number, and Izuku’d have a moment of “My phone doesn’t actually make calls, but I use wifi for email” (cue FEELINGS there) and Izuku taking off but promising to show up when they need him. And then the LoV setting off a bomb, essentially, with anti-quirk bullets inside that hit multiple people and Izuku has to come in and save the day. Thankfully the Dadzawa vibes were too strong, and I absolutely prefer this version. The MUCH BIGGER VERSION CHANGE is that originally? Ryujin is resurrected in chapter 13 straight up. Like, Izuku falls into the ocean, very nearly drowns, and Ryujin is the one to rescue him. There was a point where Izuku demanded to be let go so he could go home and Ryujin, being Not Very Good At This, just drops him for Mizuchi to catch on his back, but Izuku 100% thinks he is gonna DIE as he falls. I do love that scene and their exchange, and of course this means Aizawa is scolding Ryujin directly for the storms, but something felt off about it. I finally tossed it to @redrobin-detective for feedback and they were kind enough to sit as we worked back and forth about if Ryujin’s comeback was too fast after his death. So we came to the idea of Ryujin being essentially tied to where he belongs/was born and needs to stay there. For a year? A century? Who knows. He’ll be able to speak to and guide Izuku, but he won’t be physically there. Which changes some of how I expect the sequel to go, but I 100% think the story is stronger for it - and it entirely came from me reading comments and everyone telling me HOW MUCH THEY WERE EFFECTED by Ryujin’s death, which surprised me. Since I knew it was coming, it didn’t punch me in the same way I think it did for other readers. 20. Tell us the meta about your writing that you really want to ramble to people about (symbolism you’ve included, character or relationship development that you love, hidden references, callbacks or clues for future scenes?) Oh man CC is SO full of symbolism and repeated motifs and hidden notes. Some of my favourites: 1) Izuku starts and ends (more or less) at the Takua river. He starts there treating his wounds, wondering if he should fall in and let himself drift away before Tamamo-no-Mae drags him back. He ends there on the bank, expecting Mizuchi to arrive to kill him. He’s passive, feeling empty and used up and like an awful human being. And in the first round, he is offered help (from TnM) and rejects it and runs and goes to ground to hide. And the second time, after shenanigans Ryujin offers him help and Izuku more-or-less accepts it (he asks for time to think because he’s overwhelmed, but he does accept) and more importantly, he doesn’t run away: he asks to go back to Aizawa, to the one person who has helped him feel safe. I really wanted to examine how far Izuku’s come, but also reflect on how far he still has to go! Poor kid needs more than three weeks of Aizawa and good meals before he’s stable, but it’s a good start! 2) Tamamo-no-Mae. Things like “Do not fall in, I cannot swim” and later on her talking about how she met Mizuchi was by falling into his domain (one of his rivers) and she still can’t swim, I dunno why but I love that? Also she has at least one line, possibly more, that hint at more secrets folks don’t yet know about her that I am excited about. She is one of those spirits who becomes DEEPLY connected to her humans, and so she connects to Izuku easily and for Izuku, he really is attaching onto her a bit like a mother. 3) ALL THE FORESHADOWING ABOUT AfO I spent SO MUCH TIME trying to CARRREEEFULLY craft the hints: I didn’t want to make it too obvious, but at the same time it seemed so obvious to me - even the adults in-verse are like ‘this kid could be connected to AfO because of quirk manipulation’ and still it surprised so many people but importantly no one thought it was a complete heel-turn ass-pull. The minute you go back and reread (I have had multiple people comment as such) it’s obvious. [[You are not what you are made to be. You are not what you are made out to be. Both things are untrue. You have surprised me,]] she says, like she’s making all the sense in the world. [[ I look forward to seeing what you become.]] Also when Izuku meets OfA, he tries to protest ‘hey, I am not what everyone says I am, sure I’m apparently the bridge, but I just want to help people’ and OfA’s response is [[ That remains to be seen. You are young: age makes monsters out of men. ]] They know the context that Izuku doesn’t, that they somewhat think Izuku does know, and so they’re not trying to be cryptic. OfA is really just being passive aggressive, and TnM is trying to be reassuring! They just... don’t realize Izuku’s working with less information. I could probably go on, but I’ll wait and see if anyone else asks for the same # XD

9, 11, and 24 for BNHA Asks uwu
THIS WILL BE THE ONLY ASK I'LL GET SO IMMA GO ALL OUT!!
9. Character you wish to see more of.
Gosh . There's a lot cuz I'm ADDICTED.
Present Mic : Honestly he just makes me so happy and excited every time he appears. I no joke i go <gasp "It's Present Mic!"> Every god damn time.
He isn't super rare to see or anything but i just miss him and the lighthearted feeling.
All of Class 1-B !!! : Their descriptions and designs are so intriguing I just wanna get to know em better u.u
Shinsou : As everyone I just eat him up every time I see him in official stuff.
His concept is working really really well in the world of bnha. I want to know more about his background story and how he's currently developing. All i want is to see him in 1-A one day.
Ms.Joke : I ship her with Aizawa still and you can't stop me. I want to see her Aizawa and Eri . I wrote a Post about this actually 😂
FatGum : Basically the same thing as Mic but he also just gives me like ... A save feeling?
Idk it's dumb . shush >.>
Crimson Riot : We got to see him through Kiris eyes but not really his actual self. On one hand i feel like we don't necessarily need that other view but every time i see an old panel i just think of wanting to know more about him and his story. 🤷🏻
Gunhead : Are you kidding me !? He's a big softy and adorable. He was super charismatic with ocha ! Again just miss him and wanna see more
Nana : Ik ik she's supposed to be kinda 'mysterious' , 'otherworldly' , 'far away' but i feel like me wanting to know more really just shows Hori did an amazing job.
Burnin : She cute - BAM!
Stain : I wanna see his reaction to what's going on now w the LoV , Dabis words etc. Just him in this current area *queue to Ethan/h3h3 saying "I would love to see leafy comeback and try to exist in the landscape today"*
I want to see the reaction to him being back by the league just that concept.
Curator : cool concept i think he was in an anime intro or when someone was talking about the older villain legends . He looks cool . I really really really want to know more about the older villains and their history!
Spinner & Mr.Compress : MORE CONTENT HORI. MORE BACKSTORY . MORE DEEP SHIT. MORE INNER THOUGHTS. MOOOORRREEE.
Mustard : He's literally a middle school student in prison. Most likely for a long time. What the fuck? Tomu save him plz! He babi! He child! Protecc! I want to know how he ended up in the league that young ? How did he get known so much that he'd get recommend/acknowledged? Family situation? Bonding w the league bc bg story bs ? Just more.
Geten : He cool. He icy. . .I don't like ice actually. It hurts.
I like his interactions w Dabi. I like what we know about him so far . I wanna see Dabi and him more together and learning from each other just by being around. He is super sympathetic.
Giga : HOW THE FUCK DID HE MEET AFO!?!? Why does he have this relationship with him?? Rejected first adoption? Is he like always giant? Could he at some point be smol and now he's stuck because of psychological shiz ? More.
PUBLIC SAFETY COMMISSION PRESIDENT :
I WANT TO SEE HER DEAD.
11. Any moments or scenes you could watch over and over again.
• Tomura chopping off Overhauls forearms/hands : Need i say more?
• All Might vs Deku and Bakugou : HILARIOUS
• Everything else is basically in the yt compilations
I can't think of anything else from the top of my head.
24. Is there a character that a lot of others like, but you don’t, or vice versa?
Miruko : I have made so many posts about this. Yes she's hot , yes she has a cool character design and i definitely haven't downloaded nsfw art of her . She's genuinely a terrible person tho .
If you like her it's fine i definitely won't judge you . I can't blame ya, she hot.
Melissa Shield : ANNOYING MARY SUE. I get so aggravated when i see her cuz i couldn't finish the movie bc of her . only 20/30 something minutes in idk.
Everyone else i could maybe mention is just uninteresting and i don't feel negative about them .
