BOOK REVIEW ABOUT (SHE'S DATING THE GANGSTER)

I once fell in love with a gangster. Everything between us happened so fast, and our relationship took me completely by surprise. I didn't expect it to happen at all, but I loved everthing about him, flaws and all. It didn't even make sense, because everything about him just screams "gangster" . No, hes not in a gang nor is he a criminal. He's just your typical bad boy.He's irritating.he's loud , he smoke and drinks he goes clubbing on a weekday, he gets into fights you get the picture .He's the complete opposite of the kind of guy I'm usually into.

And yet there were times in our relationship when he would let another side of himself show, which he usually kept hidden beneath his tough-guy persona.

It might not have been the best idea to fall in love with him, bht they do say that love is seeing an imperfect person perfectly.

The new spin to the familiar formula is that the story is enframed by Kenneth and Kelay, two modern day teens searching for Kenneth’s father. As we unravel the love story between Athena and Kenji, because Kenneth is the son of Kenji and Kelay plays as a niece of Athena. Kenneth and Kelay are the ones who make the love story of Kenji (Richard Gomez) and Athena (Dawn Zulueta) again since Kenneth is trying to find his father due to a plane crash and Kelay wants to make her aunt happy before she dies by looking out for Kenji since she knows their love story..

In 2014, Kenji Delos Reyes delivers a speech during the wedding of Kirby and Grace. However, Kenneth, Kenji’s son, makes out with a girl in a bathroom stall. The stall opens as the girl’s grandfather enters and chaos then ensues as he chases Kenneth to the reception hall. This causes a scene and a confrontation between Kenji and Kenneth. Kenji then asks Kenneth to be mature and asks him what the problem is, to which the latter says that he doesn’t want to be with him but has no choice. Kenji asks his son what caused him to feel this way, and he answers that he knows about the other Athena. Disappointed, Kenji says that Kenneth has no idea how much he loves him and his mother. The morning after a drinking spree, a hungover Kenneth finds out the plane that would take his father to Bicol has crashed. He rushes to the airport to see the list of survivors. There, he meets Kelay who also wants to see the list. Since the place is crowded, Kelay could not pass through. She then causes a scene so that they would let her see it. She fakes crying and begins shouting that she does not want her father dead. Members of the media approach her and ask what her father’s name is, to which she answers Kenji delos Reyes. Hearing this, Kenneth confronts her and says that he is the only offspring of Kenji. Kenneth then tells the media that he’s the legal son and he can show his birth certificate to prove this. Kelay, on the other hand, has Kenji’s picture. Confirming that the girl on the picture is not his mother, Kenneth is asked by the airline officer for his contact details while Kelay is shunned. Kenneth confronts her to ask who the girl on the picture is, and Kelay bargains that she would tell Kenneth once he agrees to tell her at once when the airline contacts him for information regarding Kenji. However, all the flights to Legazpi are booked. He has no choice but to take the bus but since it's Holy Week, all tickets have been sold. Kenneth sleeps at the bus station, hoping to get a ticket as a chance passenger, yet he oversleeps. Fortunately, Kelay went to the same bus station and bought tickets for the two of them.On the way to Legazpi, Kelay, Athena’s niece, tells the tale of young Athena and Kenji which dates back to 1979, a "gangster" whom everyone was afraid of. He is broken hearted over Athena Abigail Tizon.

All started when 17-year-old Athena Dizon unwittingly plays a trick on resident heartthrob and bad boy, Kenji de los Reyes. All of a sudden, she finds herself pretending—unwillingly at that—to be his girlfriend. when Kenji asked Athena Dizon to pretend as his girlfriend in able to get his ex-girlfriend back but athena did't like the idea of kenji , athena say no. Kenji, wanting to commit suicide by jumping from the school's rooftop if she does not accept and athena she haven't chioce to say no

The next day at school, Athena is treated like a princess with Kenji providing her bodyguards. Jealous, some girls at the school start bullying her. Kenji confronts them and says that no one hurts his girlfriend .Athena to be his pretend-girlfriend in an effort to spark jealousy in his former girlfriend Abby ,

Now, not only does she have to deal with dirty looks from the girls in school who want Kenji for themselves, but her supposed boyfriend is getting on her nerves. He’s hotheaded, never seems to agree with her on anything—and everything about him screams gangster.

Has Athena gotten herself into more trouble than she can handle? Or has she actually found herself a boy she can call hers—gangster be damned?

When athena hadn't been to school in three days. No texts, no calls, nothing. Kenji saw her online on Facebook chat but when i sent her a message, she didn't reply. Sara didn't go to school either , but on wednesday she was back. Athena wasn't in yet, though.Sara told me to relax and that Athena's recovering,but i couldn't take my mind off Athena.I didn't even get to visit her, and i didn't even know she was sick.The rest of the day went by pretty slowly because Athena wasn't around.No one's arguing with me , no one's giving me dirty looks or shouting at me.

Kenji say "I kinda miss her" and after class. Kenji asked Sara if i could walk her home, but Sara told to kenji Athena was visiting Nate in Quezon City.Kenji his temper rising , so Kenji asked Sara Who's Nate??.he told to Sara "She never told me about that guy before is she fooling around with other guys behind my back" kenji say.Sara say to kenji that her brother Nathan.Nate, Nathan ,get it? Sara looked kenji curiously, Sara said, " And why would she fool around with other guys"? Is that what you really think of her? And it's your fault that she's sick and all".Kenji stared Sara and Sara suddenly cracked up laughing with saying " Oh my God, the look on your face!.I'm just kidding! She's fine! She'll be back at q0 p.m, Kenji say to Sara " Damn you , Sara.Tell her l'll her tonight" Sara replyed to kenji" How cute, you miss her, Athena said she'll be back tomorrow anyway, so you don't need to come over" Sara giggled and said goodbye.

when Athena and Kenji’s feelings cross the line from make-believe to reality, the conspiracy becomes predictably complicated. Eventually they fell in love after several dates and spending a lot of time together.

Their pretend relationship eventually becomes real and the two confess their love for each other. Kenji takes Athena Dizon to Legazpi to see the Mayon Volcano and promises that someday they will get married in that place with the volcano as their witness. When they come back to Manila, however, Kenji begins to absent himself from class. Athena then gets an invite from young Lucas to go see Kenji who is in the hospital. Worried, Athena hurries and finds Abi lying in the hospital bed. Abi has stage three gastric cancer and Athena walk away to the hospital when kenji saw her crying but kenji hugged her and say that " Athena ayoko, ikaw ang mahal ko , hindi mo na ba ako mahal? Athena faced kenji and say sobrang mahal, mahal na mahal pero mas kailangan ka niya kisa sakin "and was the reason why she broke up with Kenji. Wanting Abi to be happy and live longer, Athena breaks up with him. Kenji and Abi get married and Abi gives birth to Kenneth. And that time was so unfair moment because athena is sick also but Athena choose to keep a secret to kenji her illness and give a way ko abi even its making herself hurt and the pain and sorrow because of the love she sacrificed.

Back then 20 years later while searching for Kenji in Legazpi, Kenneth receives a call from present day Lucas and he helps in looking for Kenji. On their way, Kelay receives a call from her family informing her of Athena’s health condition and that she is dying. Kelay and Kenneth part ways with Kenneth promising that Athena and Kenji would meet once he finds him. Kenneth finds the hospital where Kenji is confined and reads his letter to him. In the letter, Kenji tells him that he was on his way to Legazpi to say goodbye to his memories with Athena and apologizes for making Kenneth feel that way. When Kenji wakes up, the two hug and reconcile. When Kenji is well, Kenneth takes him to Athena’s house. Athena tells Kenji about her disease for the first time and tells him that his love kept her alive through those years. She says she is happy for Kenji and dies in his arms. Kelay wakes up to a phone call telling her that a flight has gone missing again and Kenneth was on that flight. When she goes to look for him she makes a scene again, telling the media her 'boyfriend' is missing. Kenneth witnesses Kelay and it's revealed that it was actually Kenji who called her. Kenneth asks Kelay if they can have a great love story like his dad and Kelay's aunt had and almost kiss as the screen cuts to black.

The ending turned out good because Kenneth and Kelay are the ones who continue the love story of Kenji and Athena.so do we bear witness to the love story of Kenneth and Kelay.

"It’s twice the love team with twice the story. But whether two of everything is better than one of anything is still a matter of debate."

The story reminds me of Romeo and Juliet because Kenji shot himself after knowing that Athena died. She's dating the gangster is one of a truly typical love story but the ending turns out unexpectedly and will make your heart broken.
