whenever I say sandman is a story about all of us I mean that very literally. you cannot read or watch it without one of the narrators addressing you personally. of course, it could’ve been written without those bits; could’ve just been about a dysfunctional family and their work affairs, but it wasn’t. the narrators refer to your dreams and your personal experiences; they urge you to make connections to yourself or someone you know. we have all dreamed, we have all felt despair, and we will all see death. and in a way I think that’s comforting.

just sat here thinkin about older Eddie Munson. Having lived through the horrors of Hawkins, gotten out and clawed his way to his dreams, his band thriving, going onto be huge names in the industry, living his life properly in every single way he hoped.

Like, he's comfortable in himself, happy in himself, his relationship is thriving nicely, hell they're planning a lil backyard wedding soon as the weather sorts its shit out, but publicly...

Steve is his housemate, the one who's famed for having stood up in court and testified for Eddie's innocence, who rallied respectable members of the community (surprisingly enough, his parents) to come forward to do the same, the one who's famed for dragging him out from under Earthquake rubble and shoving his life back into his body.

Steve who they say only lives there cause paramedics dont make much so it's just cheaper for him to live with Eddie in that big ol house the rockstar has since Robin has long since moved in with her partner Vickie.

They're happy, they live quiet (save for the whole, rockstar thing) lives.

But Eddie... he's just terrified. Stuck with the trauma that being mob hunted would give him. He didnt do anything, and they still tried to hunt him down to undoubtedly kill him, Jason would have killed him. He would have shot Lucas who had nothing to do with it at all, but he would have shot him. Eddie isnt stupid enough to think Jason wouldn't have shot him. Probably wouldnt have even let him speak.

That mob came for him when he did nothing wrong.

He lives with the fear that a mob might come for him again, only this time he wont even be able to deny what they're hunting him for.

One of the neat things about demon flirting versus human flirting is the opportunity for jealousy. Weird jealousy.

Do y’all think that Sora is the one who first decides to not go with a similar outfit as the other ninja (Doc said it’s because she dislikes the conformity of all the same looking outfits) and then Arin goes along with that because he loves his best friend, but Sora will continue standing out as unique in a good way while Arin is just gonna be left out? Having finished the Book of Bill, I have some thoughts. Nothing detailed, just as it pertains to my writing mostly!

First: Fuck Yeah, that was great! And my congratulations to Billford shippers for being so well fed.

Could have used more Dipper info but hey, I'm biased!

Second: Knowing that Bill is so absolutely fucked up by destroying his dimension is excellent. I'm tempted to hop back on the Whump sequel now, because goddamn. You know that guy wouldn't just be upset about losing something he cares about. Again. He'd go absolutely unhinged.

Another thing that's amusing to me is that, in Familiar AU, the reincarnation setup was accomplished by Bill going to the Axolotl.

I'm just amused at the idea of said extremely powerful being being rather nonplussed that Bill's actually like... Forming connections (healthy ones!! even if it's just one person for now) 'Cause a big theme in the book is he has No Idea how to do that. At All. Along with all the 'burned own dimension to a crisp' PTSD.

I can only imagine said salamander is Very Surprised! Likely because he thought that only Literal Death would bring Bill even close to reforming.

(Bill protests he's NOT reforming shit; Dipper wonders what he's gotten himself into. Again)

Poor Dipper. Thought he'd be able to be Perfectly Normal and Fit In by casting a quick little familiar spell, and ends up being a multi-lived Emotional Support Human to an insane interdimensional criminal.
