The TWST cast from the original Fyuuture Kid timeline is so Cleopatra by Lumineers coded. They just get their (pregnant) joyfriend ripped away from them, cursed, and then sent back to earth, where they can't follow all in one day. That's gotta be a fucking nightmare. They just lose everything at the same time. Bro. Imagine Jamil or Azul, they had to fight for everything and just when they finally, FINALLY, think they have something that will never leave, it's taken away. Imagine malleus or cater or silver; they've already lost so much, silver just lost his dad and now, when he's going to make his own family, they're taken from him too.

So there weren't any winners in the original timeline no, but the way things went down sort of prevented the type of outcome you are describing with Floyd due to the potential for hope, that most dangerous of falsehoods. In a way that sort of makes it worse though... so lets talk about what went down shall we?

(I'm going to keep this post to more general information, but I did write some specific ship thoughts I'll probably use for another post later on, I just need to think on some of them more...)

This post will not contain discussions of suicidal ideation, but will contain major character death and descriptions of violence. If you are curious about what happened to Yuu and Fyuuture kid, look at this post here.

General Original Timeline Facts

To give a brief re-cap of what happens to Yuu, they were arrested by the Magical Marshall's office and sent back to their world, while pregnant, and cursed to forget everything that had happened to them in Twisted Wonderland. Something I didn't mention in that first post, mostly because I intended to imply it in the answer about Riddle's relationship with Yutu but ended up cutting, is that none of the characters actually know that this is what happened at first. They know that Yuu disappeared, but they don't know that the Marshalls were involved or that Yuu went back to their world, which causes a real sense of panic in all of them because holy shit their spouse and unborn child just went missing and they can't seem to get anyone to take this seriously. How the Marshalls went about hiding this information, and what the general public believed happened to Yuu depends on who their husband was, as did the fallout of their disappearance.

For anyone who might be a bit confused, the Magical Marshall's Office is an elite squad of police officers who investigate magical crime, and occasionally deal with overblots. They are the organization that Deuce wants to join one day, which does mean that the people who made the decision to see Yuu as a threat to public safety and send Yuu home were Deuce's own co-workers and friends.

Deuce is the first to suspect that the Marshall's might have had something to do with Yuu's disappearance, but he isn't able to really do much with that. He tries, but he is stonewalled and eventually fired- though by the time that happened monster attacks started getting really bad in the Queendom and Deuce had a whole other set of questions.

Speaking of those monster attacks, the instant Yuu is removed from Twisted Wonderland Grim overblots I have an idea as to why, but it isn't super set in stone. This "Chimera" begins hunting and stirring up monsters, inciting them to attack civilization while it focuses on trying to "wake up" the Phantoms of the Great 7. These phantoms want to re-join with their respective overblot boy, which is an easier task for some of them than others.

The first phantom to re-appear was the Thorn Fairy's. Malleus chose to seal himself and his phantom in an eternal sleep inside the Briar Valley capital after ordering Sebek and Silver to evacuate everyone who lived there, leaving his people truly leaderless and in shambles. He technically also ordered Lilia to go with them, but he refused. He wasn't able to abandon another Draconia to die alone. A lot of nocturnal fae died to the Phantom before Malleus's sacrifice, but because the problem was more or less contained to Briar Valley not all of the other nations saw the monster problem as a threat. They should have.

The second phantom to re-appear was The Queen of Hearts'. Riddle, having been approached by Deuce with his suspicions regarding Yuu's disappearance and outraged by what he saw as a clear violation of the law (if nothing else) was easy prey and re-assimilated into the monster. The phantom then began hunting down each of Riddle's previous dorm mates to corrupt them into card soldiers for its army, eventually fashioning four lieutenants that were a touch more sentient that the others out of Trey, Cater, Deuce, and Ace.

Certain members of the Al-Asim family saw that happen and quietly, without Kalim's knowledge, arrange to have Jamil killed. This doesn't prevent the Sorcerer of the Sands' phantom from reuniting with him, it just means the monster is puppeteering a corpse. And dragging around a second once it gets its hands on Kalim...

Obviously at this point something of a pattern has been established, meaning S.T.Y.X. is expected to do something. Idia does not actually overblot for a second time thank you very much, Phantom Ortho has a mind of his own and he promised to stay in the Underworld until it was Idy's time. His first order of business is to check in on Vil, Azul, and Leona to make sure they're ok. He manages to make contact with Vil, but the Coral Sea proves impossible to get a message through to and Leona is M.I.A. Literally, he and Ruggie have both disappeared while investigating monster attacks around the slums. Idia has a decision to make, and it's not one he really likes, but S.T.Y.X. has a better relationship with the Sunset Savannah than it does the Coral Sea, so it's off to the Elephant Graveyard while Vil agrees to stay behind on the Isle of Woe under observation for his own safety.

It's a decision Idia regrets later. He gets to Leona in time to help him fight and kill the King of Beasts's phantom, but it costs Leona and Ruggie their lives, and while he's there, the Sea Witch's phantom finds Azul and begins using his magic to drain the merfolk dry. Floyd manages to use his unique magic to distract Azul long enough to allow Jade to escape, who only flees because he thought his brother was behind him the whole time. The oceans become polluted with blot, forcing the surviving merfolk to the surface. Many go to NRC and take refuge in the Octavinelle dorm pocket dimension, resulting in the Mostro Lounge being closed to make more room. Somehow that feels more like a killing blow to Azul for Jade than what the phantom did.

Schools like NRC, RSA, and Nobel Bell become sort of centers for survivors due to the large amounts of mages, magical wards, and artifacts that such schools typically have made them safer than most towns. NRC specifically has seen a large influx of magicless people who run a lot of the things the ghosts used to and runs a lot of normal school classes in additional to the magic program, which shifts over time to be more focused on fighting due to the increased monster attacks.

Also Crewel is now Headmage. It would have been Trein but I don't think he needs the stress. I haven't decided if he is still alive or not, but Vargas and Sam are still kicking.

So to give a run down of where everyone stands in the original timeline in order: Malleus and his phantom are trapped in an eternal sleep, Lilia is dead, Silver and Sebek are alive (at least at first) and trying to help the fae refuges displaced by the Thorn Fairy's Phantom. All of Heartslabyul are overblot phantoms, and actively making the Queendom of Roses unlivable. Jamil was assassinated and the Sorcerer of the Sands's phantom went on to kill Kalim and most of his family. To be clear that wasn't because of Jamil's lingering emotions, but good luck explaining that to most people. Vil and Idia are overblot free, Vil because he is being detained on the Isle of Woe and Idia because of his promise with Phantom Ortho. Leona and Ruggie died fighting the King of Beast's phantom. Azul and Floyd are blot phantoms, while Jade is alive and tending bar at what remains of the lounge at NRC.

Now Epel, Rook, and Jack aren't named in that list. No one really knows what happened to them, but they are assumed dead (or at least Jack and Epel are.) Since this is my AU and I get to give out the information, I'll let you know that Rook is a phantom under control of the Fairest Queen's phantom, Jack is dead, and Epel is alive, but cut off from the rest of Twisted Wonderland by the monsters under the Fairest Queen's control. He's right teed off about that, hey Yutu go get him that ladder he's gonna give Rook a piece of his mind-

Yutu and his friends had to fight the Heartslabyul boys multiple times. Yes this hurt their Yutus a lot, and is one of the main reasons Riddle! Yutu hates his dad so much.

Vil can hear the Fairest Queen talking to him and it's not great for his mental stability. Neither is being cooped up in the Isle of Woe, his Yutu did meet him and remembers it being a terrifying experience.

Jade has a good relationship with Floyd! Yutu, Jade and Floyd are their own people but losing Floyd killed a part of him that was slightly healed by getting his nephew back. He likes to tease Azul! Yutu and told him a great deal about his dad. As for his own Yutu... their relationship is a tad strained by how protective Jade is over his son. He is terrified of losing him and what is left of his pearl...

Not all Yutus are in the same dorm as their father. I haven't decided on where all of them are yet, but I did mention once in my replies that Azul! Yutu is in Savanaclaw. I did not mention that he did intend to transfer but couldn't when he accidentally became the Dorm Leader because he got tired of being mouthed off to and knocked someone out. I have an ask about Cater! Yutu I'm working on but I'll add him here as having been put into Octavinelle, and I think I want to put Kalim! Yutu into Pomefiore but I need to cook more...

Does Yuu suffer any injuries during Overblots? At least in the novel?

Or Yuuya stays behind and doing something to distract the Overblot mage? What does he do in battle?

To my knowledge the only time the game prefect has been injured was maybe at the end of Book 2 when Grim strikes them in the head with a spelldrive disc, Book 5's Grim attack (thank you so much @akai-joou !!) and during Book 6 when CHARON invade the school?

There have been times that they were in danger, though, and times that they were likely uncomfortable (during the sandstorm* of Book 2, crashing into Octavinelle in Book 4, Vil's poison gas in Book 5, tackled by Epel in Book 6, etc.).

*(Originally said that the sandstorm was sentient but I believe this was the wrong word! In the novel Leona is able to control and manipulate the sand that he creates, making it move 🦁 Moveable sandstorm?)

As for Yuuya's role in overblot battles in the novel: he does his best!

We get some glimpses into his role against Riddle in Book 1 when the group sets their attack plan:

Blot stretched out like an umbilical cord to connect Riddle and the monster. Riddle waved his arms; the monster waved its arms. The monster threw its head back; Riddle threw his head back. Yuya couldn't tell which of them had moved first. "Can we pull that monster behind him away from Riddle?" he asked quietly. Trey had apparently been thinking the same thing. "Yeah. Seems like a good bet to peel that thing off him, huh?" They all nodded firmly and sprang into action. Trey defended against Riddle's magic, while Cater and Yuya drew Riddle's attention using Cater's signature spell. With that opening, Ace, Deuce, and Grim threw everything they had at the monster.

In the fight against Leona, Yuuya tries to evacuate Ruggie but Ruggie is unconscious and difficult to move. Leona notices and buries him, Ruggie and Grim in sand.

Cater, Riddle and Jack go to help them and they make a plan for Yuuya to protect the unconscious Ruggie while they fight:

"We should all attack at once. Yuu, can you get to somewhere safe and protect Ruggie?" Yuuya nods, and then moves to drag Ruggie's body closer to the tower. -Twisted Wonderland the first novel (fan translation)

And later after Ruggie has woken up and joined the fight, Yuuya saves a blinded Jack by warning him about the monster:

There is a cry of pain and, perhaps blinded, Jack stumbles at the lion's feet.  "Jack, get out of there!" Hearing Yuuya's shout, Jack scrambles backward as large claws swing just past his nose. -Twisted Wonderland the first novel (fan translation)

So! I’m going to school to (hopefully) become a farm vet, and I also enjoy those hybrid Aus, SO! Farm Hybrid Au! (Or just farm au!)

Riddle: a rooster, specifically a red cornish. Cornish are known to be a bit aggressive, and finicky. I think he would have been a neglected chick and didn’t get to the full size, instead staying kinda small instead of becoming big like other Cornish.

Trey: Highlander cow, soft, sweet babys! They’re just happy to be here, and are stocky tough cattle. Their coats are double coated, so they can get matted but it’s rare with a proper diet and care.

Cater: a part indoor part outdoor cat, a beautiful orange tabby mix, who goes through moods of cuddle monster and hates everyone. Never a hiss from him, but a grumpy huff and he trots away.

Deuce: mastiff, a guard/live stock guardian dog breed. Big, aggressive to strangers, but love bugs once they get to know you. Specifically a Pyrenean mastiff, they’re polish, and suited for cold weather best.

Ace: definitely a Nubian goat, head strong, rebellious, LOUD, but they’re not aggressive! They’re actually very friendly, to their detriment since they will try to befriend predators!

Leona: farm cat, probably a Maine coon mix, cause he’s so big and fluffy! Maine coons are also very “dog like” and can learn tricks, to play fetch etc. They also tend to have a resting mad face, which Leona seems to have sometimes!

Ruggie: a stray dog that helps hunt vermin on the farm. I feel he wondered up once, and made sure to avoid the live stock (and their guard dogs) and got some rats or something. He doesn’t live on the farm by nearby in the woods with his pack of strays (including granny!)

Jack: another guard dog! Anatolian Shepard, a middle eastern breed suited for colder climates, and lovingly called “nanny dogs” and they will happily let goats jump on them. They’re a bit dominant, preferring to do their own thing vs what others say though.

Azul: cull duck! They’re a bit noisy, enjoying the sound of their own voice. They’re the white ones most people think of for ducks, small and fairly friendly but they do enjoy nibbling to show affection…

Jade: runner duck! They can’t fly, but enjoy scrabbling among rocks to find grubs, or in Jade’s case, mushrooms! They don’t waddle either! They run! They’re not as friendly as other duck breeds, being stand off-ish sometimes.

Floyd: just like his brother, a runner duck. He lives up to the runner in his name! Prances around, and enjoys tormenting the other animals on the farm. Someone stop him! Sneaks up on others and nips their feet. Has been kicked before, it didn’t stop him.

Kalim: brown Swiss, in the top three cattle breeds! They’re known for being fairly docile, calm and friendly. They’re very affectionate, and can get upset when not given affection from their handlers! This boy is BEGGING for ear scritches!

Jamil: Brahman bull, he can get aggressive much easier than Kalim. He’s also a very intelligent boy, as his breed usually is. But they’re also known to be shy, preferring to be alone or with a specific quiet few vs a large herd! Brahmans also are sensitive to the cold, so his hoodie is a need!

Vil: a jersey cow (my favorite!) they’re so pretty, but also the divas of milking cows. But it’s worth it for their thick, buttery and fatty milk! They’re also very curious, choosing to follow new comers vs hiding. They’re very social, but sassy things!

Rook: a trained hawk! (I’ve never seen a trained hawk around chickens but he is!) he was found as a baby and ended up bonding with the farmer I bet, so now he protects the others from birds, and more sneaky attacks! He enjoys sitting with Vil, a strange pair but it works.

Epel: a Southdown sheep, also known as “baby dolls” cause they’re so little and cute! He’s still a ram though, and hates being called cute! Head butts at will! Is mad that Vil has chosen him as their “calf” and follows him around, keeping him out of trouble. Vil’s no fun.

Idia: a British soay sheep, but he’s got a genetic mutation that makes him a deep blue instead of a dark brown. British soay are shy and flighty, they’re timid even among sheep breeds! Idia probably struggles with joining herds because of his color, which makes him more nervous about predators!

Ortho: à shetland sheep, another smaller breed, but quite friendly and inquisitive (which is rare among sheep, I’m sorry they’re dumb) Don’t let his size fool you though! Shetlands are one of the hardiest breeds out there! Small but mighty!

Malleus: a big black shire horse, now I don’t know as much about horses, but shires are docile and friendly draft horses! I bet cause of his size though, many of the other farm animals avoid him cause he’s scary. Shires are sometimes used for riding, and I bet he REALLY enjoys riding!

Lilia: a fell pony! They’re one of the smartest ponies, and while they can be finicky at times because of their intelligence, they are sweet ponies. He’s too intelligent for his own good I bet, enjoying to open the gates and wander out, but doesn’t close it and now EVERYONE is out and about!

Silver: an Icelandic horse (my brother’s favorite), they’re super sweet and hardworking sweethearts, with a beautiful grey coat! One of the friendliest horse breeds in the world, he’s just a big old love bug! Loves rolling around and laying in a nice patch of grass I bet.

Sebek: a shetland pony, but he’s one of the ones who give shetlands a bad rap. He’s nippy, and stubborn, and loves to whiney whenever he can! Likes the sound of his own voice. Is entranced with Malleus, and wants to be a big horse like him one day!

when lilia vanrouge says he's coming over, he usually appears approximately 20 seconds after he warned you of his upcoming arrival, dressed in his dorm uniform.

tonight, however, your favorite fae-stie barely gives you a second to prepare before he appears in your room in a puff of green mist and his pink silky pajama set (yes, the one much like shaggy wore in the loch ness monster scooby-doo movie, just in pink). 

"what's up what's up what's uuup~!" he sing-songs, dropping down gracefully on the edge of your bed.

"hi, lils. cater?"

"on his way, do not fret. i brought some diasomnia snacks! and–"

"did you make them."

"no, he did not," said a monotone voice from somewhere. upon realizing it was not lilia who spoke, you turn toward the source, only to see malleus draconia (alias hornton) in the flesh, causing you to very nearly die of a heart attack.

okay, you might be over exaggerating. a little.

"--and malleus, i hope you don't mind. he wanted to join 'girls' night," the musician grins.

“nah, he’s welcome to join any time, i’m just not quite sure he’ll find it entertaining,” you say as you turn to look at the raven haired fae, “make yourself at home, hornton. i’ll go get the drinks and wait for cay.”

you spot grim playing with the resident ghosts in the living room area on your way to the (severely run down) kitchen. before you can even fully step into the room, you hear a few light knocks on the door and take a sharp turn towards the entrance instead. what greets you there is a heavily shaking individual known as cater diamond dressed in only his pajamas, carrying some baked goods (courtesy to trey) and his phone.

“w-what’s up what-’s up what’s u-u-uup?!”

a beat of silence passes and you momentarily consider just shutting the door in his face because how and why the fuck are riddle rosehearts and deuce spade also here. you can handle malleus, he’s much like a pet rock, but riddle in the same room with lilia and cater? you think your hair might start graying a bit early.

“riddle and deuce! what are you guys doing here?” you step aside to let them in with a strained smile only to glare daggers at your good friend behind their backs.

“cater insisted i come along and ‘hang out’ with ‘the girls’ for a bit. he said i need to mingle with people my age more to be able to keep up with the trends, or something along those lines, i believe. i don’t see a purpose behind me being here however, so i can take my leave if you’d rather keep it to a close circle discussion– i can’t leave trey to watch over the entire dorm either, i am housewarden, after all.”

“i got pulled along against my will.”

the drastic difference in their response, reasoning and length struck you like lightning for a mere second, “oh– uh, no, don’t worry, you’re all good, riddle. you can stay if you wish to! i won’t keep you against your will though. same goes for you, deuce. you just have to promise whatever you hear tonight stays between us.”

“not to worry, the queen of hearts rule number 14 states that secrets must stay between included parties. may the queen strike me down herself lest i break a rule.”

“anywayy~ after all this chitter chatter cay-cays’s gotten hungryyy and treys’ home-baked tarts are directly under my nose! it would be a crime to not eat them! shoo-shoo, up we go!"

a couple hours have passed since the guys arrival, and everything's been going well so far. it was quite a shock for the heartslabyul trio to find the malleus draconia here at first as well, but they’ve slowly warmed up to him and began to consider him as ‘one of the girls’. the conversation’s been flowing well and the night was filled with shared laughs and stories.

you were just finishing up recounting the recent happenings with ace to fill everyone in on the details when malleus spoke.

“i believe he might just be.. ‘into you’, was it?” he turned to lilia for confirmation, who nodded abruptly. “that’s what i’m saying! the little bat just won’t believe me,” he said, leaning onto cater (who nods along in agreement while patting his bandmate) dramatically, as if you not believing his nonsense caused him a fatal wound. so much for being a war general, this guy is a drama general at best.

“lils, he hates me.”

“enemies to lovers, i say! enemi–”

“on the contrary, i think he quite likes you, actually,” the redheaded housewarden speaks up from the corner he’s sat in, “you’re almost all he talks about recently.”

“oh, you’re right! i asked him about our alchemy homework last week and he found some way to bring you up, even in that conversation. ‘i wonder if [name]’s done it yet? should we ask? i hope she’s not struggling with her studies. perhaps we could help her out’ like, shut up,” said deuce, popping some candy in his mouth with a clearly annoyed look in his eyes. if you didn’t know him any better, you’d think he was jealous of his friend.

that forced you to stop and think for a moment. if it were anyone else (a picture of lilia and cater appears in your minds eye and you have to fight back a smile) saying it, you probably wouldn’t have paid it much mind, but if it’s the people closest to him, then perhaps there’s some truth behind the seemingly empty words?

“i have an idea, if i may,” all eyes turn to malleus (who.. you forgot was even here, with how quiet he was the entire time), eyebrows raised in question, “if you’re so unsure of his intentions and feelings, why not test them?”

the 2 light music club members eyes lit up at that and you felt an impending sense of doom.

and that’s how you found yourself dancing with deuce, then malleus, then riddle, then... all of them, for some reason? it was awkward initially, but the longer it went on the more fun it was, and perhaps you could say this was one of your best nights spent in twisted wonderland.

Leona: - Will only play if push mod is enabled - Literally does nothing but kill his teammates because he thinks it's funny - The spore lizard thing is his favourite and he could not tell you why - On the last day, he ends up pulling through for his team because he wants to make quota - He will convince his teammates to ring the bell more than they should just to watch them get mauled - Loves the mod where he gets to be the monsters Ruggie: - Menace 2.0 but not in the same way Ace is - He immediately fucks with the light as soon as he can - Lies to his teammates about which emergency exits are safe - Loves the teleporters - He also loves when he can juke the turrets and stand on top of them - Also the first to run if he hears a thumper or spider - Calls the bracken his friend - Will lock people in rooms whenever possible, especially if there's a turret Jack: - Likes to stay at the ship and be dependable, will monitor and lead teammates through the map - Because of this he normally stays at full health so his teammates nominate him to go get a beehive right before they leave a moon - Buys the teleporter to get everyone's bodies back without risking loosing the loot - Doesn't know the maps from the inside very well so he will end up tailing someone the whole time if he chooses to go inside - Hates that the mimics can use voice clips from the players but it's also really funny for any dead teammates spectating - Thinks it's sad that the dogs are blind, but really appreciates the fact that the dogs and giants work together to hunt prey

Azul: - Coward /affectionate - Wants to stay in the ship, but Floyd/Jade both inverse teleport him a lot lmao - Hates the SCP mod?? Map?? idk at this point - The ghost girl targets him so much it's hilarious - Tries to stay in charge of the money, Floyd usually intervenes - Dies to giants a lot - Thought the slots mod might be fun, until Floyd spent all their money - Gets used as bait a lot - The spiders hate him Jade: - Inverse teleports EVERYONE he thinks the unpredictability is Funny - Likes to sneak up on his teammates - Pretends to be a mimic a lot (Floyd panics and ends up hitting him with the shovel) - Teammates compare him to the bracken a lot (they mysteriously die shortly after) - If someone kills him he votes to return to the ship early to be petty - Loves the monster mod that lets him torture his friends - Adores the loot bugs so much they're his Little Guys - Compares Floyd to the Thumper a lot - Brings your body back to. right in front of the ship so when you're spectating you can watch them abandon you Floyd: - Menace 3.0 (uses All tactics mentioned above) - hates the backroom mod - Screams at all the monsters, mostly out of joy - Loves the twerking emote - The Jack in the Box is his favourite - He loves the nutcracker too because when he kills it he gets the rifle - He will proceed to use the rifle irresponsibly - Finds all the ways to die on Gordion - Carries the boombox around everywhere

Jamil: - Has to play with the arachnophobia filter - Still screams with the millipedes/face huggers - Always has a shovel, flashlight and walkie so he doesn't get much loot - Likes putting the mimic mask on to terrify everyone else even if it means he dies - Also enjoys the boombox and jamming out with the slime

Vil: - Gets super competitive - Actually loves the push mod but would never admit it - Loves beating the shit out of thumpers - Will kill his own teammates if they honk horns and shit he will NOT tolerate it - Ends up dying to the bracken a lot - Comments on how little sense the value of each thing is (especially the hair dryers) - Also makes up a lot of theories about the game and lore while he's playing but if you call him out on it he'll deny that he's That invested in the game (he will never look up the actual lore) Rook: - Literally only plays to try and kill the monsters he doesn't give a fuck about quota - Push mod is Funny - Dies to the slime a ridiculous amount of times because he's too busy beating the shit out of something else - Was the first one to die to a giants fart - Somehow always manages to get beehives with minimal damage - Tricks and/or "blackmails" people into trying fire exits out for him (he wants to see more of the mimic, but will leave all their loot on the ground) Epel: - Loves the high risk high reward moons - Teammates try to use him as bait, but he always uno reverses them - Blind dogs are his favourite and he likes to crouch walk with them and lowkey pretend they are his Friends - Loooooves the jetpack, he's half decent at flying with it - Has died to the ladder more than once (he did it to himself) - Also tries to send himself to the backrooms by charging things that should Not be charged - Runs into the bees by accident a lot

Idia: - Literally so many fucking mods - He looses interest in Lethal Company pretty quickly - Trans cat stuffy is his baby - the cat mod is the reason he stays, but then he also refuses to sell them to the company - He sometimes lets Ortho control everything (like monsters spawning, how fast time passes in game, how many inventory slots he has, etc. etc.) and it makes it more engaging for him and fun for Ortho Ortho: - When he plays alone he only plays on the minecraft map mod - He likes collecting Steve - Otherwise he invades public lobbies and is a little menace to everyone - At least once in game he'll abandon everyone because he thinks their panicking is funny - If he dies early, he doesn't quite grasp that it's frustrating when he calls the ship to leave, so it happens pretty much whenever he dies early - Speed runner when he's by himself because he has....all the mods at his disposal

You, Yuu, are a princess.

A special princess considering your existence is a mystery

One day the king and queen were on a trip with their son, Kalim, and their advisor’s son, Jamil. When they returned, a baby (Yuu) was inside the castle wandering on the tile floors.

No one knows how you got in.

No one knows who brought you here.

But you were there and were immediately added as part of the royal family.

Due to your mysterious circumstances, you grew up a sheltered child. Leaving you with your royal friends, Leona and Riddle, your noble friends, Azul, Jade, Floyd, Idia, and Ortho. Along with your mutual villager friends, Cater, Ace, Deuce, Jack, Ruggie, Trey. But let’s not forget the kingdom celebrities like Vil and the famous hunter Rook.

Yeah, it’s a lot of people but a girl has limits

And so, you turned to a girl’s best friend: Books.

Books were your everything.

As you grew up, your tastes in books did as well.

You went from children’s books to material that would land you in an asylum for thinking a dark wizard or monster was attractive to spell books for every want.

It was quite the variety, but you kept the mature stuff carefully hidden.

But those books deluded shaped you

Now at the age of 17, you had the mindset of “Princesses just want to have fun!”

Plus you didn’t want to look at pictures of suitors anymore.

So, one night, during one of Kalim’s lavish parties for all, you snuck away through the hidden tunnels underneath the castle and went on your merry way into the woods.

Everything was going swell until you found the most beautiful valley of roses you’ve seen.

Blue, green, pink, red, and white. The valley had every color. You wanted to pick one, just one as a souvenir of your adventure.

You reached down and touched the flower’s stem.

You prick your finger on a thorn, and suddenly you hear a creature from the mountain above breathe like it’s been disturbed.

Your blood drops on the rose and it roars.

You run through the valley but it seems like the rose’s thorns are wrapping around your feet and ankles. Cutting them and letting more blood spill onto their petals and roots.

You slow down from the pain, and fall to the ground.

That’s when you see your attacker.

It’s a large dragon with purple and black coloring over its scales.

Its feet stomp over to you and a singular claw draws near your face.

Its eyes are green like emeralds and they stare at you like you’re prey.

The claw goes into the ground near your right cheek, and it makes a tight grip around your body.

You scream and scream in terror as you go higher into the sky, and eventually enter the mountain.

It puts you onto a pile of gold coins, and walks away before transforming into a tall, slender, and pale young man with horns.

“Someone finally came to see me! So, what’s the occasion? Is it another party?” The dragon rambles.

“Uh, I am so sorry. I just stumbled onto the valley,” You respond.

“Even better! Why don’t you stay for dinner?!” The dragon man proposes, holding your hands.

“Oh, sure. I suppose one meal with you couldn’t hurt,” You reply, making the dragon man ecstatic.

If only you knew the trouble you had just gotten into.

It’s super effective—the students are unable to battle!

Jokes aside, is there anything more adorable than a little kid being so excited to see someone that they literally drop what they’re holding and run full speed at the person to hug them? I’ve had that happen to me a few times, and it’s a heartwarming feeling that gives me the warm and fuzzies~! >w<

This took me a long time to figure out how I wanted to write it without going overboard so apologies for taking so long. Now let’s see just how these boys react to mini!Yuu being excited to see them! >w>

Riddle was startled when he heard a loud squeal, which was followed by mini!Yuu calling out his name as they came running at him full-tilt before latching on to his leg. Poor guy was so confused, as this was the first time Yuu had run up to him since his Overblot and the revenge Unbirthday Party. What changed? Did Ace bribe them with cookies again? What is he supposed to do now?! After some reassurances from Trey, Riddle began to grow more comfortable as this became a frequent occurrence. Despite the rule of “no running in the halls”, he couldn’t deny the warm feeling in his chest whenever Yuu made a beeline for him (though he does give them a gentle reminder, and it’s hilarious seeing them alternate between fast walking and practically bouncing up to him when they try to follow this rule).

Having two younger siblings of his own, Trey instantly recognized the excited squeal and pitter-patter of feet against the linoleum before Yuu latched on to his leg. “Oh no! A little jabberwocky is attacking me!” he said, feigning fear as he held his mixing bowl over his head. Giggling, Yuu ‘roared’ and clung tighter as Trey smiled. “Now I’ll never be able to finish this yummy batch of cookies. They’ll certainly taste much better than me.” On hearing the magic words, Yuu ‘spared’ his life and was eagerly awaiting their delicious treat sitting on the counter watching him. As soon as the cookie sheets were in the oven, they reached up to him and happily nestled into his arms as he held them close.

Cater counted his lucky stars that he had been recording when Yuu spotted and eagerly ran up to him with arms open wide and a cry of, “Cay-Cay!”. Not only was his heart full of cotton candy clouds and rainbows, but the video went viral within hours of posting it on Magicam! It was so cute, he tried to figure out when he could get the best reactions. Sometimes he would find someone to hold his phone so he could “sneak up” on the toddler, and it was in that video that he'd noticed how his wings flared out when Yuu charged into his arms. That video…he looked so genuinely happy picking the tiny human up in a tight hug, a sparkle in his eyes he hadn’t noticed before. He kept recording other videos and adding to the Magicam page, but that particular video he keeps safe and plays it when he needs a pick-me-up—and even Trey notices the difference and makes a point of pointing Yuu in his direction more often for “emergency Yuu hugs”.

Ace didn’t know what to think when Yuu ran at him and hugged his leg, raising it—and them—to get a better look as they giggled happily. “Whoa, what’s going on? Did you turn into a little monkey when I wasn’t looking?” he teased them, earning yet another childish giggle. “Well, I’ve heard of having a monkey on your back, but I don’t think there’s a saying for having a human on your leg. Hope you’ve got a good grip!” Yuu was happily clinging to his leg as Ace managed to walk around the dorm, making an exaggeration of swinging his leg over and up before landing with a ‘boom!’ with each step he took with them. Sure, it would be a bit harder for him to jump around as he usually would (mostly to annoy Deuce), but hearing the tiny toddler laughing and giggling was pretty nice too.

Deuce was startled and froze in place when Yuu came running up to them with a squeal of his name, momentarily thinking they were in danger when they clung to his foreleg and ready to go into fight mode—when their giggles snapped him out of his thoughts. “Oh…uh…hi, Yuu,” he said, looking between them and the closest Heartslabyul student in confusion. “What’s going on?...huh? You’re just…happy to see me?” At their nod, he felt a warmth in his chest and realized that he was seen as someone that Yuu was comfortable enough to be around. Picking them up and placing them on his back, he made a silent vow that he would make sure that the last human would never come to harm, and any who dared make them cry would be met with his fist and a swift kick!

/Savanaclaw/

Leona never really cared about children, though he low-key tolerated at least his own nephew…somewhat. So for the little toddler and his nephew to come running up to him while he was on his way to take a nap in the greenhouse and clinging to his legs, he was certainly annoyed. “What are you two doing?” he growled. Despite the scowl on his face, Yuu and Cheka giggled happily and began chatting to him, telling him about their day of playing and the things they wanted to do with him. Groaning, Leona did his best to shake the two off to no avail, and later on Ruggie found him fast asleep under a tree, Cheka and Yuu napping on either side of him. Even when he was still asleep, Leona’s tail unconsciously rose in a defensive position when Ruggie and Jack tried to retrieve the sleeping children, the spines only going down when they backed off and left them alone.

He was hanging the laundry when Ruggie heard the muffled giddy giggles behind the white sheets, the leucrocuta humming for a moment in confusion before he smiled as he continued hanging the sheets up. “Shishishi…oh boy, I sure hope no one here is planning to pounce on me,” he said playfully, his lion-like tail swishing across the ground near his cloven hooves. In an instant the tiny human hopped out from around the sheets, roaring as they latched onto his leg. “Oh no! I’ve been hunted!” Ruggie’s smile was wide as he feigned being hurt, rolling onto his back as Yuu climbed up to perch on his chest in triumph before they hugged him. An affectionate warmth filled his chest, thinking of how Yuu reminded him of the other kids back home.

Like Trey, Jack had grown up with his younger siblings, so it didn’t come as a surprise when he felt Yuu’s arms wrap around his leg with a cheer. What did come as a surprise was when Yuu barked and yipped at him, giving him the widest smile he’d seen as they asked him to play. “…heh. Sure,” he said, plucking them off his leg and setting them down. “But if you’re going to act like a puppy…then be prepared to play like one! Unleash the Beast!” In a swirl of golden smoke he transformed, the fu dog towering over the much smaller human as he nudged them with his snout. Then, crouching low, he gave a low ‘boof!’ and wagged his misty tail as Yuu returned the “bark” and got into their own playful pose. Despite his size, he was very gentle as he and Yuu play-fought, the toddler at one point wrapping their arms around his muzzle and him hoisting them up to swing them gently left and right as they squealed happily.

/Octavinelle/

Azul happened to be in his kraken form working on some contracts, so distracted by his work that he never noticed that Jade and Floyd had opened the door enough for a tiny form to slip in and sneak up on him. A moment later he yelped when something small jumped onto one of his tentacles, readjusting his glasses as he raised it to see what had happened—and being greeted by the smiling face of the toddler. “What’s this now?” he said, relieved as he settled back into his seat. “And what does a brave little soul such as you wish from me?” Yuu giggled, still clinging to his limb as they hugged it tight. “Oh? Were you expecting a ride from me? I most certainly can grant you that little wish…for the price of a proper hug.” Yuu beamed with joy as he pulled them close, their tiny arms wrapping around him in as tight a hug as they could manage. True to his word, he used his extra limbs to swing and sway the toddler while he continued working with a content smile on his face, cradling them in a makeshift 'nest' when it was time for their nap.

Very few things surprised Jade these days, so when Yuu came running up to him with arms open wide for a hug, he’d lowered their arms to pick them up…only for them to avoid them and instead cling to his leg. “Oya? Goodness, this is a surprise,” he said, surprise giving way to gentle mirth as he straightened up. “I seem to have found myself with a small passenger.” Yuu smiled shyly at him before hiding their face against his leg, earning a chuckle from the basilisk-turned-sea serpent. “No need to be shy. If you wished to spend time with me, you need only ask.” Eventually he could be found working in the lounge, his usual calm smile on his face as he greeted guests while the toddler stood on his foot, clinging to his leg like a koala and giggling with each step even as he moved with ease.

Floyd had been having a bad day when Yuu found him, an annoyed frown on his face as he wandered the courtyard for a spot to take a nap. Before he could settle down at the base of a tree, the toddler made a beeline for him as they called out his name before jumping as high as they cloud and wrapping their arms and legs around his own. He blinked in confusion for a moment before he snorted, laughing in amusement as he asked, “Aww, hey, lil’ Shrimpy~! Didja miss me or somethin’?” Yuu squealed and giggled happily as he plucked them up, holding them out in front of him as he said, “Did you want to play a game?” They nodded excitedly, and in response he tossed them up in the air—catching them as they landed with a squeal in his arms. His foul mood was gone, content to play with the toddler and chasing them in a game of tag around the bushes, trees, and the well before returning with a sleepy toddler to Octavinelle.

/Scarabia/

If they had been hoping to sneak up on him, that would be a challenge for the toddler when his hearing was so strong. Not that he was complaining! Kalim was just as excited to see Yuu as he and the toddler rushed at each other, the einfield scooping them up in a spin and hugging them tight with a nuzzle. With so many younger siblings of his own, it was second nature for him to react to the childish enthusiasm with equal excitement. “Hey, Jamil! Look who came to visit!” he called out, tail wagging so fast it was almost a blur. “Can we add an extra plate for them? It’s almost lunch time!” Even as Yuu tugged on one of his ears, he didn’t seem bothered, smiling happily as he said, “Oh, I know! Why don’t we go for a ride on the magic carpet while we wait?”

“Kalim, no!” Jamil hissed. “Remember what happened last time? We barely managed to catch Yuu when they nearly fell off it. Why don’t you just play a simple game inside?” Not one to be disappointed easily, Kalim was more than happy to figure out a game they could play and immediately went into the lounge with Yuu in his arms. Sighing, the naga/gorgon slithered back into the kitchen to continue preparing for another meal. His hands moved quickly as he prepared the dishes over the next half hour, focused on the ingredients in front of him to the point he almost missed the presence beside him before he felt something small flop against his lower back. Startled, he turned to look and spotted Yuu struggling to climb onto his back, their leg barely managing to reach up to try and pull themselves up. “Huh? What…are you doing?” They smiled up at him, explaining that they wanted to spend time with him too. He couldn’t help but blink before he smiled, gently nudging them up so they could sit down on his back (and so he could better watch them), listening to them giggle each time he slithered around the room. Later in the day they were found nestled in his coils for nap time, a thin blanket draped over them for comfort as he and Kalim talked in hushed voices.

/Pomefiore/

It was during one of the photo shoots that Vil was requested to bring the small human along with him, the young actor working with the school staff and the researchers to ensure that it would be okay and making arrangements to ensure maximum security would be available. He had to leave early to check that everything was in place, and once he was satisfied he had Rook and Epel come in with Yuu—who immediately squealed and ran up to him with a happy smile on their face and latched on to his leg. Smiling, he gently pried their arms off his leg and held them close, smiling warmly as he tidied up their shirt and cleaned the spot of chocolate off their face. “I take it you had a treat on the way here?” he asked, earning a happy nod. “Well…I suppose one treat every now and then is acceptable.” He hadn’t noticed in the moment that the cameramen had started taking photos, which resulted in a much more natural—softer—images of him holding Yuu that--by the time they were done--he decided to go with in the end. Before they headed back to NRC, he decided to stop by the local toy shop and purchased a few stuffed animals, Yuu latching on to a particularly soft yellow rabbit they called “Mr. Flopsy”.

Rook always thought that every interaction with the last remaining human was beautiful in its own way, marveling at each action and behavior he observed as he faithfully watched over the toddler to ensure they remained safe. When the little one came running up to him and clung to his leg, he thought his heart would burst with the amount of love and affection he felt towards the beautiful moment! “Ah, mon chou~! Such a happy little ball of energy today, non?” he cooed, picking them up and folding his wings around his shoulders so they were both encased in a cocoon of feathers. Giggling, they peeped at him like a little bird, earning a playful chuckle as he nuzzled them and said, “Oh? Are we a petit oiseau now? Beaute…come! Let us see what Roi des Lions is up to, shall we?”

Epel didn’t know what to expect when he felt something small ram into his leg, looking down to see Yuu’s face peering up at him while clinging to his leg. “Wha-? Oh, hey, Yuu. Whotcha doi’—I mean! What are you doing, Yuu?” Yuu smiled, telling them they wanted to play. “O-Oh? You want to play with me? Hehe…sure! Let’s see…what should we play…?” Thinking back to earlier, he glanced around for a moment—checking their surroundings—before kneeling and saying, “I’ve got a fun game we can play. Want me to teach you how I like to play back home?” They agreed, hopping back and eagerly watching as he braced himself against the earth with a feral smirk on his face. “’ight then! Back on the farm, I was always the smol one, so I had to learn to fight some o’ the bigger billies…by heatbuttin’ ‘em! C’mon: show me whotcha got!” They looked confused for a moment, the faun hybrid explaining to them what he meant and lowering his head so they could keep trying. In the distance one could see Vil and Rook watching, the former wanting to step in but being stopped by the latter as they watched Yuu and Epel happily bounce around and—in Epel’s case—lightly bonking their foreheads together and chasing one another before moving on to another game.

/Ignihyde/

It was another ordinary day of grinding for materials and pulls for his games when Idia realized he had run out of snacks, making the daring venture (ulp…) out into the hallways. His wings were pressed tight against his back as he made his way to the vending machine, keeping close to the side to avoid running into anyone. Idia was so focused on avoiding the students that he never thought to look down. So when he felt a pair of arms wrap around his leg…well, can anyone blame him for accidentally taking flight with a squawk of panic? Of course once he learned it was Yuu and that they had been knocked off in the flury, he immediately began to panic even more when the tiny human began to whimper and immediately landed to try and coax them into not crying. He did not want to try explaining what happened to the others–how do normies deal with crying children?! Eventually he managed to do it, bribing them with some candy he got from the vending machine and playing multiple episodes on Shimmer Heart Sugar Stars. He’d been meaning to catch up on it anyway, so it works out in the end.

When Ortho found Yuu running up to him, he was confused when they reached up to hug his leg and greeted him. He was more than happy to sit in front of them and chat, allowing the child to play with his metallic hands and explore his wings. He couldn’t help but giggle as they reached up to hover their hand near his hair, their eyes wide with interest. “It’s okay. You can touch my hair,” he told them reassuringly. “Unlike normal fire, you will not get burned touching my ‘hair’.” He was patient as he explained things to them, though he had to analyze more simple methods to explain things in a way the toddler could grasp–which was a fascinating learning experience as he researched different learning methods that parents use to teach their kids.

The very first time this happened, Malleus was startled when the tiny human ran up to him and hugged his leg. He blinked when they giggled, happily beaming up at him with a smile. “What’s this…do you not fear me, Child of Man?” he asked, tilting his head in curiosity. They shook their head, looking confused and asking him why they should be afraid when he looks nice. This answer stunned him, and for once Malleus had no clue how to react…until a low chuckle escaped. “My, quite the interesting one, aren’t you, little one?” he rumbled, feathery bat wings shifting a bit before settling over his shoulders like a cloak. They reached up to him, making grabby hands he was all too familiar with as he picked them up and held them close. “I look forward to seeing you learn and grow, Child of Man…I wonder what stories you could tell me?”

Of course Lilia would be absolutely delighted whenever Yuu would run up to him, calling out to him and giggling as he swoops down to scoop them into his arms. To hear their childish giggles was the highlight of his day, and to feel them hug whatever part of him they could reach was always a delight. He especially adored when the child would cheer happily as he picked them up with his tail, allowing them to hold on and swing around. This time, they latched on to his leg when they were sleepy, ready for a nap as he clicked his tongue. “Oh my. Stayed up too long, did you, little one?” he asked, chuckling as they reached up to him with grabby hands. “Very well. A little nap wouldn’t hurt now.” With them secure in his arms, he took to the rafters and–using his hind legs, tail, and wings, he perched himself so he resembled a leathery ‘hammock’ as he cradled the toddler against his chest. They fought to stay awake before the thin membrane of his chest began to glow, a gentle thrum erupting from his throat as they watched the slowly changing colors before–finally–their sleepy eyes closed. “Have a good nap, little one…”

The moment Yuu found Silver, he had fallen asleep underneath a tree surrounded by small birds and chipmunks. Tiny little Yuu was giggling, quietly sneaking up on the slumbering monster before pouncing on his stomach. Silver awoke with a grunt, shaking his head as he looked around in confusion before finally realizing who was sitting on him. “Yuu? What are you doing here?” he asked, the baku trying to figure out how long he had been asleep. The toddler giggled, reaching up to touch the tusks sticking out of the corners of his mouth. At that he couldn’t help but smile softly, reaching up to gently pet them on the head. He hummed in thought for a moment before he said, “Have you been having nightmares lately?” They hesitated for a moment before nodding shyly, earning a soft chuckle from him. “Don’t worry. You can rest easy–I’ll keep the bad dreams away.” Silver stayed awake while Yuu settled down, waiting until he was sure they were asleep before he finally closed his eyes. True to his word, Yuu didn’t have a bad dream.

“Bwah?! Human?! What are you doing??” If anyone expected Sebek to not yell during this encounter, you’d be sorely mistaken. As one of Malleus’ trusted guards, he did his best to always maintain his guard and watch for any threats. So when the tiny human somehow managed to appear ‘out of nowhere’ and hugged his leg, needless to say he was already freaking out and thinking he had let his guard down. Thankfully Malleus and Lilia weren’t nearby, so he wasn’t as defensive or reactive as could be as he stared down at the tiny human still clinging to him. He knew that this tiny thing was important and meant to be protected, yet he couldn’t understand why. Sure, Yuu was fragile and extremely tiny (in his mind), so it was understandable that they’d need to be taken care of. But was this creature really that much more important than the safety of his lord...?

“Is that Sebek…with the human sitting on his tail?” Lilia uttered, watching beside Malleus as the first year carried what looked like the toy chest Sam had given the staff. Yuu was giggling happily as they clung to his jacket, sitting on the base of his tail as the basilisk easily moved about the dorm chatting with them. It seemed he had found someone to listen to him chatter on about the achievements of his lord Malleus, the smile wide on his face while they gazed up at him with awe. “My, how adorable. I didn’t expect him to get attached so soon!”

So what happened if Yuu is Scp 053 also know as The little girl, will some of the boys attack her? What’s the reaction?

OOC: Well that’s a different story if SCP!MC/Yuu were an anomaly themselves, especially this one you mentioned. Since SCP-053 has anomalous effects which when being around the little girl more than 10 minutes (as well as having physical contact or make eye contact), anyone by the child will enact paranoia, irrationality, and homicidal behavior towards the subject, attempting to harm her.

If this anomaly were MC/Yuu and somehow traveled to Twisted Wonderland, unfortunately most of the TWST cast could be affected by them since they’re human, no matter what.

If they were affected by MC/Yuu as SCP-053 from the beginning of the Canon storyline, then there’s no canon storyline as humans in Twisted Wonderland attempted to kill the anomalous being, they’ll suffer sudden heart attacks or major seizures. This would lead to premature deaths.

As for other magical species such as Fae creatures, beast-people and mer-people, they probably won’t be experiencing such effects. That means the Savanaclaw Trio, the Octavinelle Trio and half of the Diasomnia group are safe, for now.

A bit after the STYX incident, Riddle started dating a guy (imagine a regular NPC).

Riddle was incredibly anxious, but considered this a victory, a sign that he was healing and acting like a teenager. He asked Cater, Ace and Vil for tips and prepared a whole study guide on how to be a good boyfriend, though.

After a week or two of just hanging out during lunch and chatting, the couple decided to organize an actual date.

They settled for an afternoon at a local coffee shop. Riddle was so happy.

And then the guy stood him up.

It was okay. An emergency dormhhead meeting was called ten minutes later so he would have to cancel things anyway. But still...

Now, just to set things up, of the cast of known students, the only ones that knew about the date were Heartslabyul (obviously), the Octotrio (they were shoving vouchers at Riddle's face subtly giving hints about using Mostro Lounge as a date spot) the Pop Music Club, Vil, Rook, Idia (Azul told him) and the first years.

Curious (and worried) about the situation, Kalim and Vil asked Riddle about the date during the meeting. Malleus was personally offended and Azul was feeling so generous he even invited the group over to Monstro Lounge (everyone except Riddle had to pay, though).

Interestingly enough, the school was really quiet that day, and not even Crowley knew the reason for calling the meeting...

You see, tuns out the date never actually cared for Riddle, it was just a prank.

The plan was to claim an emergency had happened ("I lost a book in the abandoned mines, and my friend needs it to study for a test next week!"), Riddle would volunteer to go fetch the book by himself like the stubborn housewarden that he is, and the date would go to the coffee shop to reserve their seats.

Except the guy wouldn't come back, using the permission slip to to go to Sage Island's beach with a few other friends, certain that Riddle would be too busy fighting the monsters in the mine (or overblotting) to realize something was wrong.

It was a perfect plan! If they were actually ABLE to keep a secret, or weren't up against Riddle's friends...

Cater had already done a background check of thr guy as soon as he started talking to Riddle, with Chen'ya and Lillia also helping out. Trey tipped Rook off, and don't get me started on the first years, who went a step further and asked Ortho to hack the guy's social media...

The date was attacked by the first years and a few cauldrons before he could even leave the school, while the beach party was ruined by the Tweels and a stampede of Caters...

The rest of the cast was kept mostly in the dark, with only a vague message of "Rids is sad, cheer him up pls, we're busy RN. Ttyl XOXO." from Cater. Idia, thinking Riddle was having a social anxiety crisis over the date, called a dormhead meeting by hacking Crowley's phone, hoping this was a good enough excuse to cancel the event.

Needless to say the "boyfriend" and his friends didn't last for long after everyone ELSE got the memo... Vil and Leona can be a SCARY duo, but angry Malleus and Idia are even WORSE!

Yay! Your ask is open! I was dying to ask about your monster hunter x twisted wonderland stuff! Like your pick of who ever, reaction to Fraena explaining about some of the monsters in her world, like she would show them some information about them in her journal just cause they asked.

I'll make a list of what kind of monster piqued their curiosity enough to ask Fraena about it.

How this happens is that they know her abilities as a hunter but they wonder what kind of monsters could she hunt to possibly require... such obnoxious weaponry ahem looking at her Gunlance ahem.

List below:

Heartslabyul - Paolumu

Honestly they thought that this little floof bat wasn't harmless. It honestly looked so cuddly and Cater would think it would make for a nice pillow. But they would be horrified to know that Paolumus are very aggressive because of its environment.

Fraena would casually mention how these fluffy bastards can knock you into the air by inflating the air sac and launching mini twisters at you.

Even the cute ones you need to look out for apparently.

Ace and Deuce are pale when they imagine what it could do if it were here. Riddle was with Cater and thought it looked cute until he was told how much of a little turd it was.

Trey just thought how it looks like a cupcake with vanilla frosting when puffed up. Maybe making some Paolumu themed sweets could snap them out of their shock.

Savanaclaw - Odogaron

A dorm full of students who know how to pick their fights, of course they would want to find out if Fraena even fought any of the monsters drawn in her journal.

Ruggie asked out of curiosity if she has ever hunted anything that was like an apex predator. Fraena just said yes and proceeded to explain how many high rank hunters would sometimes be left in critical condition after hunting an Odogaron.

It looked like something straight from the underworld. That shut them up because from the looks of it, they wouldn't even stand a chance against one even if they all fought it. Big respect for Fraena for making it out alive after hunting this thing.

And just recall it like it was a normal sunday. Damn!

Octavinelle - Lavasioth

tbh, Floyd would be curious to know about the Lava fish because no way that would exist in Twisted Wonderland.

Though it would be terrifying to encounter. A fish that swims in lava and said lava can harden into armor and render your attacks useless? You'd be better off relocating your entire family than try to repel thins thing much less kill it.

Fraena just dislikes this monster because it took too long to kill. She calls it a coward and recalled how she kept follwoing it hoping it would resurface.

Letting them know that she deliberately chased after it because "hitting the lava before it hardens was a good thing" as if hitting lava or getting near it is anything positive.

Jade doesn;t care about that and just wants to know more about the Mosswine. Of course he would.

Scarabia - Kulve Taroth

Kalim wants to hear more stories about the gold monster. Apparently, Jamil saw a page in her journal about a dragon thing that was covered horn to toe in gold and how it lives in a cave full of gold.

It was like a different version of the cave of wonders. But they'd be shocked to know that it takes 16 hunters to take this thing down.

mainly because the resources that it could provide was beneficial to hunters. Jamil was more concerned about the fact that this dragon could set the floor on fire and Fraena along with other hunters... idk just took it like a champ and barreled through?!

She's was worse than Kalim's ability to e a trouble magnet.

Pomefiore - Malfestio

Surely a magnificent bird with bright plumage like this would e ketp as pets on occassion, right? That's what they thought but Fraena just gave them a WTF look and told them that a Malfestio can be dangerous to be kept as a pet.

Their scales can cause confusion and induce sleep, their wings have hidden blades that can slice through most armor which can leave a hunter with less limbs.

She says so much that Vil tries to get her to stop because this was getting rather disturbing.

Rook though, he's very fascinated and wants to know more about this elusive bird. The moment she tells him about its deviant that can disappear completely, you bet he'd be imagining what its like to face one. The beauty of danger...

Yeah, it won't be beautiful when it shreds you to ribbons, Rook....

Ignihyde - Glavenus & Acidic Glavenus

Idia just thinks that a dinosaur with a sword tail that somehow looks natural just makes him think that whatever deity was in Fraena's world, it was feeling very creative when they decided to make this monster.

It was so cool! And it can heat up the blades for additional damage? Ultra cool!

Fraena was kind of fond of this monster and she tells him that it was fun to fight against. Idia looks pale because fighting something that can slice you shouldn't be fun.

Once he finds out about the Acidic Glavenus though, he's going to fanboy so much. It looks like a samurai when the acid crystals are gone from its tail. Not to mention it will lower your defense when you are hit by the crystals and then gain additional damage when you get hit by the sharpened tail.

Definitely a clever foe to fear.

Diasomnia - Gore Magala

Malleus thought the Gore Magala resembles the great dragon that his hometown admires. Fraena feels bad to destroy his expectations but she has to carefully explain that the only similarity was the color of the scales.

This dragon is very dangerous due to the scales causing the frenzy virus that can disrupt the ecosystem, forcing hunters to kill it off before the entire land is destroyed.

Dragon boi is kind of sad that this dragon wasn't noble like the ones back home.

it was kind of terrifying to be living near a dragon that causes an epidemic. Not even the Valley of Thorns have such a dragon.

Short translation from the second Twisted Wonderland novel: Cater and Yuuya

"'Ruggie is lying nearby. Yuuya wraps one of Ruggie’s arms around his shoulders and Grim attempts to take a share of Ruggie’s weight by grabbing onto his thin waist, but the limp body weighs them down.

‘He’s heavier than he looks…can’t we just leave ‘im?’

‘Not a chance,’ Yuuya responds, and with a shout of encouragement they manage to lift Ruggie between them.

In his efforts to catch up with Ace and Deuce Yuuya lifts his head, only to find himself locking eyes with Leona.

His leather vest, his shirt—all of it has melted together. Now, instead of his dorm uniform, Leona wears black, dripping blot that clings to him like a second skin.

Leona points a finger—dripping with blot—at Yuuya, and gives him an eerie smile.

‘You all leaving me behind? But I’ll get lonely.’

Sand rises like ocean waves around them, threatening to engulf them all.

‘Watch out!’ Grim diverts a direct hit with his wind magic, but the mass of sand from above rains down, crushing Yuuya beneath its weight.

Struggling to drag himself free from where he has collapsed, Yuuya hears Cater: ‘Are you two all right!?’

‘Yes, sort of…’ Yuuya coughs, dragging himself to his feet. His whole body is trembling.

Huge fissures begin to up around them. Having abandoned all reason, all limitations, Leona’s magic is splitting apart the earth and altering the very landscape.

Standing tall in the broken wasteland, the monster seems even larger than before. It gives a roar as though taking pride in its great power, and raises its sharp claws in the air.

Cater repels the monster’s attack with magic of his own, giving a wave to Ace and Deuce, who watch them with concern.

‘We’re all right here, so you two go help with the evacuation!’

Though they look back constantly the pair do run off to help, and when they are finally on their way, supporting injured students, Cater breathes a gentle sigh.

‘…aw, man, we were almost able to escape. How do we always end up in these scary situations? Cay-kun and Yuu-chan. I think we’re the two who are least suited for this kind of thing, too.’

As they watch the monster pawing at the dirt in frustration, Yuuya furrows his brows.

They will not be able to escape this barren, ruined land while carrying Ruggie, the focus of Leona’s ire.

The lion charges for them and Cater creates a transparent barrier, repelling it again. Such magic may be taking a considerable toll upon him: Yuuya can distinctly hear the gritting of his teeth.

Running towards them, Riddle adds another layer to Cater’s defensive barrier.

‘Cater. If you’re afraid, you are free to go.’

‘If I leave Riddle-kun behind, Trey-kun is going to be cross with me.’

Cater has just said that he and Yuuya are always getting into these situations, but Yuuya knows it isn’t true.

Unlike Yuuya himself, who has no magical power, Cater should have been able to evacuate on his own without too much difficulty.

But he won’t run.

Just like the mock Spelldrive game against Savanaclaw, just like Riddle’s overblot—he stayed. In the end, Cater looks out for those around him. That's what Yuuya thinks as he watches Cater, glistening with sweat.

He jokes that he fears Trey’s rage, but there is no regret on his smiling face.

‘I’m here with you until the end, Housewarden.’

‘Very well. That is what it means to be a Heartslabyul student, after all.'"

Anon, I'm bemused that you would ask this because frankly, my opinions are a bit harsh when it comes to this. 🤡It's an interesting question nonetheless, so I'll answer this.

However, I will put this under a read more because of multiple reasons. Vil's part does toe on religion, particularly Catholicism, so don't say I didn't warn you. If you're also sensitive to hearing negative opinions on your favorite character(s), please scroll past this as well or at least scroll past the part about your favorite(s). Furthermore, Riddle's part will contain manga spoilers and Kalim's part will contain the current event spoilers, so I suggest to proceed with caution or scroll past if you don't wish to be spoiled.

Riddle Rosehearts

Initially, I never had much qualms about Riddle. Of course, his way of ruling isn't exactly the best, but he makes up for it by being an excellent student who's willing to help others who struggle with their studies.

However, when the manga came out, that's when I felt anger at Riddle.

What happens in the manga is that Ace and Deuce do go to the Dwarf Mines to find the magic gem to fix the chandelier that they broke, basically like how the prologue went. Meanwhile, Crowley summons Riddle into his office to inform him of the chandelier fiasco and that Ace and Deuce are doing their punishment, which sets off the dorm leader's anger.

While Ace and Deuce are trying to get the magic gem and fighting off the OB Monster that still got up despite their well-coordinated attack, Riddle comes in and deals with the monster. The reason for his (and Trey & Cater's) sudden arrival is because Ace and Deuce disobeyed a Heartslabyul rule.

This part here set me off because in the game, it was established that while Riddle was particular with the Laws of the Queen of Hearts, it was also established that he deeply respects the rules of the school and general conduct. You'd think that Riddle would leave Ace and Deuce alone to carry out their punishment for causing property damage, which should be not only be part of a rule of the school but also general conduct.

But in the manga, he did not care about the fact that Ace and Deuce were doing what the Headmaster told them to do. He punished them and brought them back to Heartslabyul, even though they're going to be expelled anyway if they don't return with the magic gem.

I understand that this is the main flaw that Riddle has in this arc, and it's meant to be shown that this is horrible behavior because this is a story about villains after all. But nevertheless, it angered me how Riddle had blatant disregard for the fact that Ace and Deuce had to disobey a Heartslabyul rule that they never even knew about because it's their first day in school because they had to do something that someone of higher authority told them to do. Furthermore, Riddle was informed already about this.

Obviously, Riddle's tyranny is something that's not the most appealing, but the fact that he disregards any context about the situation that caused the "guilty party" to break the rules is something I do not like about him. I'm just glad that (in the game at least), he does learn how to manage that.

Leona Kingscholar

I think I mentioned this a few times because I did mention that Leona is my least favorite character. Over time, my feelings in regards to him have softened because it's fun to watch him roast and get roasted back. Plus, as a theorist and a writer, I find that his character is so fun to explore.

The thing with Leona is that I dislike that he's an asshole but a lazy one at that. He'd insult or blame others, but he himself lives such a slothful life. It makes me feel like he's not qualified to say such rude comments. In fairness, he's one of the most intelligent characters in the game, so I suppose he's qualified to make some comments? But if he's going to comment on something like people not listening in class, that's where it gets annoying because this guy skips class and repeated a year twice. Even Lilia pointed this out in chapter 2.

Another thing I find frustrating is that he wastes his potential, but in all honesty, I can't blame him. In fact, a good part of this frustration is also anger at myself because I do see that kind of behavior in myself. I know that I can do more than what I can do, but I have no motivation to do it. It doesn't help that I've said my own fair share of arrogant comments that can come off as mean, so really, who am I to judge him? Nevertheless, however, that sort of thing turns me off from Leona.

Azul Ashengrotto

Okay, I'm not going to lie, a part of me feels like anon asked this question just to know if there's anything about Azul that I dislike. Some of my friends are also curious to know about this too, so here's my answer.

Not going to lie, I'd love to answer something like "he didn't come to me in gacha and made me spend so much for him" or "he's too perfect, that's what I don't like about him", but a) I want to be fair, and b) if I set aside my bias for him, there is something about Azul's character that I don't like.

Funnily enough, the things that I don't like about Leona are things that I really like about Azul, and I'm mentioning this because I normally stray away from rude characters. Azul does have a rude undertone in his language, but I'd say it's more haughty and condescending. The difference between him and Leona, however, is that I feel like Azul is more qualified to roast people? He works hard to get to where he is – and he's still working hard until now – and because of that hard work, he has high grades and a successful business. I wouldn't condone that rudeness, but if he does poke at people's incompetence or intelligence, it seems more justified.

No, what I dislike most about Azul is that he's not an honest person. I deeply value honesty, so when Azul does lie about things, it personally irks me because I just want to not have to do a lot of digging just to know if someone is honest with their words. What makes this even worse is that Azul is horribly good at lying. God knows how many times I got bamboozled because of his words. 🤡

This is especially both hilarious and frustrating when I make theories about him. Every time I try to think of some theory about him, there's always that inner voice in my head that goes, "But what if he's not being completely honest?" and I feel like I got myself into some 4D chess game.

Let's take chapter 4–30 for example. When Jamil wanted to use his It's A Deal to gather people's secrets again, Azul answered that he remembers all the secrets of those who signed his contracts, including Crowley's. And I'd love to think that what he's saying is legit, but what if he's also bluffing to make Jamil reveal more of his true intentions? Azul was conscious during the hypnosis, since he was trying to let it control him enough that his eyes will turn red but also not enough that he can still use Bind the Heart against it. He even remembers the comment Jamil said to him about him underestimating Jamil (and even says it back to him).

This dislike is most prominent when I try to think of theories about him or dissect his character, but it does go against my personal values as well. Aside from that, I still stan him because I am a clown.

Kalim Al-Asim

Not going to lie, this is kind of hard as well because Kalim is genuinely a nice person, and everyone believes he's such a ray of sunshine. But okay, I have to go out and say that there is something that does annoy me a bit.

Mostly, what irks me about Kalim is his disregard for Jamil's feelings. It amazes me how he believes Jamil could just prepare a banquet in less than 3 days so often. Really, I appreciate that he wants to help Jamil, but he could at least do that by not making Jamil do things that are nearly impossible to do. For example, the frequent banquets and parties aren't necessary. Even in the current event, Jamil is already expressing how he can't look out for 6 more people, but Kalim ignores that and invites MC, Grim, Cater, Trey, and Malleus to the fireworks festival. It's probably the rich person mentality, but nonetheless, I wish Kalim had more consideration for Jamil.

I may also be projecting because my family likes making me do things for them when they don't want to, so I kind of know how Jamil feels. 😂

Aside from that, though, I don't really have much problems with Kalim. He's still kind, maybe a bit callous with his word choice, and he's evidently maturing in the main story.

Vil Schoenheit

Alright... this one is going to be a bit controversial as this may go into my experiences as a Catholic growing up. Before I go into this, I want to put a disclaimer that not all Catholics are mean or whatever, but rather, these are my experiences growing up.

Vil is in my top 5, alright. He isn't a total asshole like other students in the school, and in fact, he's a pretty honest guy. His hard work is really admirable, and his principles are noble. Throughout the hype of chapter 5, I had defended his actions because it is understandable that the industry that he's in is pretty harsh, hence his behavior. Despite that, however, there is one part in chapter 5 that angered me the most in the story.

In chapter 5, Vil often scolds Epel for not understanding that cuteness and strength have their equal levels of power and that there's no such thing as gender in dance and performance. And okay, Vil is right. He does need to correct Epel's frankly toxic views on masculinity because being cute isn't any worse than being strong nor is dance supposed to be gender-assigned.

What makes me angry about this is that he imparts this knowledge in a way that is oppressive. He just tells Epel to do what he is told to do or think what he should think without really giving a reason why or a good way to understand those ideologies. I acknowledge that Epel was not only rude to him on the first day of school, he also picked a fight– Vil's actions of putting him in place are justified. And I also acknowledge that sometimes, you may need to push those kinds of ideas onto someone for their betterment.

But in this case, Vil never really tried to understand Epel's side of things? He tells him this and that or to do this and that without really letting Epel understand why, nor did he ever try to understand where Epel is coming from and why he has that sort of mindset on gender. Which, well, he thankfully does later on.

The part that makes me the maddest is that Vil goes as far as to say things like, "If you don't understand this, then how can you beat Neige?" It makes it blatantly obvious that he's thrusting all his stress and frustrations onto Epel just so he can have a chance of beating his long-standing rival. I understand that he is that frustrated about always being in Neige's shadow and that he may as well do anything just to get the spotlight he wants, but nevertheless, it rubs me the wrong way that he made Epel enter a competition that he never volunteered for and then use him as a way of beating Neige.

As to why this connects with Catholicism, it's the kind of behavior I've witnessed growing up, from my schooling to my own home. I remember being told to quit Pokemon, a game that I loved, just because it's called "Pocket Monsters" in Japan and it sounds like something from the Devil. I remember being told that abortion is bad just because it goes against God's teachings or that the LGBT+ is bad for the same reason. And I've seen how other Catholics would push these ideologies onto others in such a way that it makes people seem like the bad guy for opposing them. It's why this sort of thing with Vil angers me. I've seen this behavior many times, and it really sucks.

Idia Shroud

Okay, I also mentioned not liking Idia more than once on this blog, but my feelings have softened over time, especially knowing that he is a mood.

Still, I also don't like his rudeness because he says things that he has no courage to say in front of people's faces. This is seen in his robe story, where Riddle tells him to go out and help with the entrance ceremony. Idia criticizes him just because the door is closed, which means he doesn't have to see Riddle's face. I'm not saying I'm a saint because believe me, I have said my own things about others behind their backs (really, who hasn't, even if it's just a vent?), but if Idia's always going to be like that, I'm turned off by it.

Well, he did criticize people in Ghost Marriage because there was a part where he criticizes everyone for failing to set him free. It actually made me angry at him because man, they're trying, and Eliza is intentionally finding a way to reject all of them. And it doesn't help that he ends up begging for help again to the people he just got angry at. 💀

Malleus Draconia

Okay, I've mentioned that I dislike Malleus also, but his case is special. It's less that he did something that caused me to be angry at him, but more of the fandom ruined my perception of him.

To start things off, Malleus personally never really intrigued me from the start. His character is interesting to explore, I'll give you that, but I guess because of the lack of lore that we have on him right now, there's nothing much about him that I particularly like.

But as time went on, I began to grow really weary of Malleus because people always insisted that Malleus and Yuu are meant to be an endgame ship or that they're canon, when there's more indication that romance can't happen between the two of them. As a ship, I don't mind it, but when people go to the point of saying they were canon (and not jokingly, by the way), it really made me dislike not only the ship but Malleus as well.

This kind of hatred really soured myself, so much so that I have made people uncomfortable with my dislike towards Malleus and the ship. I'm still working on fixing this so that I don't hurt people anymore, and my opinion on Malleus has softened too, but even so, I can't really look at Malleus the same way anymore. Until chapter 7 comes, my opinion on Malleus may be more or less stagnant.

Final Thoughts

In the end, these are only part of my opinions on the characters. Even if I do have my least favorites, I can't say now that I hate anybody in Twst. Everyone is really interesting in their own way because there's so much depth to each and every character. They have flaws, but that's a part of being a person, and I like that these flaws are presented in such a way that they can also be turned to strengths.

BEFORE WE BEGIN:

This piece will be involving a portion of how the Savanaclaw chapter will turn out and it’s potentially long with a slightly stilted chronology.

Without further ado, Here we go!

“You seem too calm over the recent string of incidents targeting potentially good Magift players.”

Cater Diamond can’t help but stare at the unofficial Ramshackle prefect as the words utter out of her mouth.

What are they trying to do by saying this?

Are they buying time to ensure their escape out of Savanaclaw?

Cater turned towards the Savanaclaw students surrounding them and even those close to Leona-kun.

To his surprise, the demeanor in some of the students changed.

Almost as if... as if they’ve gotten afraid.

Yuu-chan kept talking. “Normally, people would have some fear that they’ll be targeted next once they learn the pattern to the attacks. And yet... none of you show even a little bit of panic of the situation and don’t try to cooperate with someone to put the incidents to a stop.”

Yuu-chan tilted their head a little to the right, a hand under their chin. “...Almost as if you actually knew who the perpetrator was, but you let them continue and act as their accomplice to the scheme.”

The moment the words left their lips, several students started running after them.

“OI! YOU LOT!” Leona-kun tried calling for them, but to no avail, as the group of students started charging after Yuu-chan.

Ace-chan, Deuce-chan, and Gri-chan are too exhausted to move, while Shiro, the infamous rascal white cat familiar that Yuu-chan miraculously won over to a point the cat chose them as it’s new master, stood calmly next to them.

Before any of the students could reach to Yuu-chan, there was a glow coming from Yuu-chan’s new bracelet.

A bracelet he noticed that they started wearing, claiming that it’s a gift from Lilia-chan.

A runic wall was formed and blow the attackers back.

Before he could comprehend what just happened, Yuu-chan raised their right arm to the sky, the hands opened.

“O thunder, heed my call!”

As soon as Yuu-chan said the chant, the unmistakable crackling of static electricity resounded and flowed throughout the field.

Every single Savanaclaw student in the vicinity unceremoniously fell on their knees.

Some struggled to rise, but to no avail, as the static kept them down.

Almost as if they were struck by lightning.

“Cater-senpai, let’s go.”

They lifted up his arm with ease (He knew that they did some equivalent of fencing back at their home but experiencing how strong their arm was is surprising)

“Run!”

They called and they ran ahead, not looking back.

Once they escaped Savanaclaw and gone straight to Heartslabyul, Ace-chan and Deuce-chan both let themselves fall to the ground, sitting and out of breath.

While Cater had his hands on his knees.

“What the hell... was that...” Ace panted.

“Fnaahh... we could’ve been toast if that didn’t happen...” Gri-chan huffed.

When Cater had collected himself and steady his own breath, he decided to ask.

“Say Yuu-chan? What did you do?”

The prefect, who didn’t look out of wear, blinked at him. Ace-chan, Deuce-chan and Gri-chan now looked at them. Shiro now on Yuu-chan’s shoulder.

“You’re magicless right? I can excuse the bracelet as Lilia-chan giving the bracelet a teeny defensive magic spell for yourself, but that doesn’t explain what you did next.”

Hey, he might not be the smartest, but he knows enough that it would be fishy if a magicless kid can suddenly use magic.

For their part, Yuu-chan looked thoughtful. “It might be easier to show you instead.”

Saying that, Yuu-chan rummaged at the pocket of her hood jacket (Scarabia themed, since Kalim-kun heard about how Lilia-chan bought them a Diasomnia themed hoodie from Mister S’s Mystery Shop. Kalim-kun really spoiled Yuu-chan as if Yuu-chan is like his baby sibling or something.)

Yuu-chan took out a hand sized rock. He couldn’t help but look flabbergasted at what they are doing for bringing out a rock.

That look was put to an end when they spoke what is unmistakably a magical chant.

“Dripping Water.”

He can now see the glow of what seemed to be a runic letter, the rock changed form to water that cascaded down the ground they stood on.

Gri-chan jumped. Exclaiming in surprise. “Fnah!”

Ace-chan and Deuce-chan stood before the water made contact to the ground.

“That was close...” Deuce-chan exhaled a sigh.

Ace-chan, however, scrutinized the ground.

He knelt down and then picked something up.

Cater noticed that it was a rock with a runic letter carved on it. Though the rock’s now scattered to little pebbles save for the one with the runes carved.

“...Say Yuu? Where did you get your Mana from?” Ace-chan decided to ask.

Mana is another word for magical reserves for magicians. Most magicians have their own magical reserves in their own body once they are born and awaken their ability to use magic.

A magicless person from another world suddenly gaining a magical reserve of their own just sound impossible unless something unordinary happens.

“It’s not my Mana.” Yuu-chan replied. And spoke. “In the olden days, people once used to request the world to lend them their magic.”

Olden days?

Wait-

“So you’re 100% magicless, but the source of mana came from elsewhere.”

Yuu-chan blinked at him. Nodding. “Yep.”

They explained. “What I did was simply carve a runic letter to a medium I would use, in this case, a rock, and all I need to do is chant the spell I needed to use corresponding to the rune.”

They took out a folded paper from the pocket of their pants and chanted. “Sun Flower.”

A glow of runic letters was formed and this time, a miniature sun shaped flower burst out of the paper, staying firm with the paper acting as soil.

Deuce-chan had been staring at Yuu-chan wide-eyed. “What was that you were saying... Sail... Fiola?”

Gri-chan furrowed his brows. “I remember Yuu saying something like Eala Aka earlier...”

Oh.

He didn’t notice it before but now that he heard Deuce-chan and Gri-chan spell out the words, he now knew what language Yuu-chan had been using for their runes.

“You speak Alician?”

He might not be from the Rose Kingdom, but Alician got covered once in Trein-sensei’s classes.

Only Riddle-kun knew how to speak and understand the language well enough in Heartslabyul.

...Maybe because of his super scary education mama.

“You knew what Alician is?” Yuu-chan wondered.

“It’s an old Rose Kingdom language, but it’s only covered when you’re a second year. But not much records are found about it so not a lot of people use it for runes and magic.”

Well, Riddle-kun DID tell him last week that he had to pick up his old notes for Alician again once Trein-sensei brought it up in history class to brush up his skills in the language.

Yuu-chan nodded at him.

“Seriously, who taught you how to speak “Alician”?”

“Oh, Lilia-san taught me.”

...What.

“Lilia-san also had been teaching me how to apply runic magic by asking the world to lend their mana to me as well.”

...What.

Gri-chan took that moment to exclaim. “Wait!” He now looked up to Yuu-chan. “So you mean all those times you’ve been telling me that you’re off studying with Lilia tutoring you, Lilia is teaching you on how to use magic!?”

“What.” Ace-chan and Deuce-chan simultaneously utter out in a flat tone.

“Pretty much.” Yuu-chan admitted, turning to the Adeuce duo and monster cat. “None of you asked about what I actually would be studying with Lilia-san so I never really talked about it.”

“You should’ve talked about it, we’re your pals aren’t we!?” Ace had a mock like betrayed look on his face.

“I doubt you’d be interested.” Yuu-chan admitted. Adding. “Even if you did, Lilia-san told me that the world’s Mana and the Mana in magicians don’t mix naturally, so a magician using them too much is the equivalent of getting an allergy to normal people. And that doesn’t sound like something you’d willingly learn as someone whose naturally born with magic.”

They all blanched at the thought.

“Alright, never mind.”

Gri-chan only tilt his head in wonder. “What are allergies?”

“You know how Lyle starts sneezing and wheezing like no tomorrow when he smell a whiff of the flower pollen in the botanical gardens and start having rashes on his skin last week?”

Gri-chan paled at Yuu-chan’s explanation.

“Yikes, I don’t wanna experience that.”

Yuu-chan shrugged. “Besides, with how I was never born with any mana at all,” Yuu-chan looked as the flower they were holding slowly wilts, and disintegrates along with the paper.

“This is a perfectly safe method to use magic for someone magicless like I am.”

They stare as the pieces of paper crumble down into small dusty pieces.

“...So how did you get Lilia-chan to actually agree to teach you?” Cater questioned them.

At the question, he noted how they reached for their neck, as if a phantom pain still existed there.

“It’s Lilia-san who suggested it to me first. I just took his offer since...”

Ah.

He gets it now.

Ace-chan and Deuce-chan screaming over Yuu-chan’s fallen body with Gri-chan running for them shortly after they brought Riddle-kun back to his senses from his overblot.

Their school uniform and hood sweater dyed in bloody red.

Lan-Lan, Trey and some of the Heartslabyul students screaming at the Headmaster to get help for Yuu-chan-

He supposed when you’re in a near death experience, you’re bound to not let yourself be in that position anymore.

“And the bracelet?” Ace-chan questioned this time.

“This?” Yuu-chan rolled the sleeves of their hood jacket and shirt, showing off an antique looking bracelet with letters engraved on it.

“Lilia-san gave this to me as a target practice based on what I learned from him. It’s a rune that I applied based on whether or not any physical and/or magical attacks are coming my way.”

“...That sounds like an overkill and just thinking too much, don’t you think?”

Yuu-chan gave Ace-chan a grin. “I’d like to call myself well-prepared.”

“Aaahhhhh!!!!”

Gri-chan suddenly shouted out loud. Surprising the other students.

“I- I know who has that unique magic!”

Yuu-chan frowned, eyebrows furrowed. “...It’s that Savanaclaw student Ruggie, isn’t it?”

Cater paled, recalling what Yuu-chan accused the rest of Savanaclaw for doing yesterday.

He’d forgotten all about it from his panic yesterday!

“Yuu-chan... you suspected Savanaclaw as a whole are behind this since the start?”

Riddle-kun’s eyes widened. “Wha- is it true!?”

“Totes! Riddle-kun! Yuu-chan said something about how the Savanaclaw students are too calm in the face of this whole mess of problems of students getting caught in accidents that injure them yesterday!”

Yuu-chan shook their head. “It’s just a guess I made based on their reactions and mood they had at the time Cater-senpai. I’m only saying that as a bluff so we can escape.”

“...Actually, Yuu’s on the mark on this one.” Kalim-kun spoke up. He placed a hand under his chin, pondering.

“I looked up a bit on who got hit by the accident. Among all the students I know and checked on who are known to be injured...”

Beside him, Jamil-kun’s eyes widened, he supposed Jamil-kun also knew who the students were as he revealed. “None of the victims are from Savanaclaw.”

As the realization hits, the other students begin to murmur.

“Now that they said it...”

“Yeah, I heard from my pal in class D about who got targeted but none of the kids he named are from Savanaclaw...”

“Then...”

“...I think it’s still too early to tell whether or not are Savanaclaw as a whole were actually behind this.” Yuu-chan utter out. Then suggesting. “If we want to get the confirmation that they really are behind this, we should interrogate one of them first.”

Riddle-kun cleared his throat. “That’s true. Assumptions and deductions can turn moot without a legitimate proof.”

“...So what class is Ruggie-san in?” Yuu-chan wondered.

“Oh! Ruggie’s in 2-B!”

Yuu felt panic when the weight on her wrist is gone.

She rolled her sleeves up and saw that the bracelet she had to defend herself is gone.

She couldn’t have dropped it back in 2-B didn’t she-

“Sorry senpai, you go ahead! I need to get something I dropped!”

She ran ahead with Shiro on her shoulder, not waiting to hear for their replies and Grim choosing to go with Riddle and Cater.

She can’t lose that bracelet so soon, not when Lilia-san gave her that bracelet as a gift and as one of her few means of defense-

She returned back to the class, asking if any of the students saw a bracelet on the ground.

And the students told her no.

So she left the class and decided to look around the halls.

It was when she was about to make her way to turn right that Shiro mewed, pulling on her ear with his bite, the pain was enough for her to escape the haze of her own panic.

And she looked in front of her.

A group of beastmen students stood a good distance in front of her.

She saw the telltale of the Savanaclaw dorm vest at their uniform.

And their gazes turn to her, as if they planned to hunt.

Why did they-

She then recalled how Ruggie stole Riddle-san and Cater-senpai’s magical pens without anyone noticing before panic hits her when she realized that her bracelet has gone missing.

She exhaled a quiet sigh as the realization hits.

She’s been trapped.

“Ah, you’re not getting this back though~.”

Ace felt dread running his veins once Ruggie Bucchi took out an old looking bracelet from his pocket.

He may have only seen it several times but he recognized that bracelet anywhere.

“This? Lilia-san gave this to me as a target practice based on what I learned from him. It’s a rune that I applied based on whether or not any physical and/or magical attacks are coming my way.”

Ace stepped forward but the Hyena beastman is already steps ahead of him and left before Ace could catch him.

He gritted his teeth and soon vented his frustration to the nearest tree.

“Dammit!”

“Ace, what are you doing!?” Deuce exclaimed.

“...It’s a trap.” He answered. Soon elaborating once he saw Deuce and Grim’s questioning gaze. “He stole Yuu’s defense rune infused bracelet to trap Yuu so all of us can get off their trail.”

“Fnah!? He did-”

Ace took out his phone and decided to give calling Yuu a shot, hoping that he could get an answer.

Ring.

Ring.

Ring.

“Ace?”

“Yuu, where the hell are you?”

“Wha-”

“Just answer me, will you!?”

“...I’m at the library with Morgan and Shiro.”

“Library? Aight. Just stay put there, got it!?”

“Huh... sure.”

He ended the call.

“Was that Yuu?” Deuce wondered.

“...Yeah, he’s okay.”

“Your friends are quite worried sick for you from the sound of it.” Morgan, the librarian of Night Raven College spoke to her.

She shrugged in response.

She hadn’t really given it a thought but ever since that fight with an overblotted Riddle, Ace, Deuce and Grim had been sticking close to her and didn’t let her go all by herself unless she has another company.

If they’re not around, Mel, Lyle or Kasper comes with her.

Heck, they only let her go to her lessons with Lilia because those were the only days that Lando tagged along with her.

Sure, they lighten up their vigilant watch on her once Shiro proves to be capably good for a familiar so she was able to go by her own self, and she figured that whatever happened after she passed out in the aftermath of that fight terrified them enough that they decided to keep watch on her.

But it’s honestly suffocating. Just a bit.

Either way.

She managed to escape from them with some of the other runes she had in hand and was thankful she had the mind to place a rune on her shoes and clothes with other functions in mind since they really helped as she and Shiro evade the group of Savanaclaw students chasing after them.

She did include a rune that prevents the bracelet from being destroyed in any form, but she failed to account the possibility that someone can steal it.

If she can get the bracelet back, or if she gets another new bracelet, she’s going to have to apply a runic mechanism that would prevent it from being stolen again.

Morgan simply nodded at her. “Now, please explain why are you running in the library and requested that I “hide” you from the rowdy Savanaclaw students coming in and making a ruckus in the library. For the record, I don’t care if the library is currently empty, all I care about is the fact that they look like they’re about to damage the property and peace of my library.”

...Well.

For as long as she knew the librarian, Morgan took their job as librarian seriously and will not tolerate people causing a ruckus in it.

...Or damaging the books and furniture in it.

...Morgan is otherwise relaxed and fun to talk to, if you aren’t notorious enough to be put on Morgan’s personal blacklist.

“...It’s a long story.”

“Ruggie, I heard you got chased around by those Heartslabyul kids in the afternoon.” Leona starts pleasantly, before his grin morphed to a scowl.

“That’s why I told you to not leave a single evidence, you fool!”

Ruggie’s ears drooped down at the sight of Leona’s scowl. “Th- that’s not it! There’s some circumstances there...” And then he continued. “But they haven’t gotten their hands on any of the evidence so don’t worry about it!”

Leona scoffed. “Yeah, all but that kid from Ramshackle.”

Ah, yes. The kid who figured out that they’re the ones behind the whole thing simply from observing the body language and expressions of everyone in Savanaclaw during that time they came here with the Heartslabyul people.

He had to admit that the kid got guts and smarts to be able to figure it out from their body language.

But what surprised him more was what the kid did following his claim and accusation.

Leona has an inkling suspicion at what caused the magicless kid to suddenly be able to use magic, since it’s nigh impossible for a magicless person to have magic overnight.

He inspected the rocks that the kid sneakily dropped all around the arena to shock them all as they made their escape. The rocks are carved with runes.

But what runes are used, he doesn’t know.

He maybe best at Ancient Incantations but that doesn’t mean that he knows every single rune out there.

Or the ancient languages used for the runes.

That’s why he asked Ruggie to steal something from the kid if he could and hinged on a plan that with how the kid suspected him and the rest of Savanaclaw, the kid would follow the Heartslabyul kids again to investigate the incidents, Joe, Amare and Talib will gather some of the other students they can trust and be on standby near Ruggie’s class to see if the group comes by and then surround the kid to keep their mouth shut.

From what he heard, though, the kid managed to escape in spite of falling into the trap.

“Did you managed to snatch something?” He decided to ask Ruggie.

“Here ya go Leona-san!” Ruggie obliged, grinning at him and handed over something from his pocket.

An old looking bracelet that doesn’t seem so odd to be on the hands of that Lilia, knowing his odd fascination with traveling.

Runes are carved onto the wooden parts of the bracelet.

He still couldn’t recognize the language used in the runes yet. But he still needs to test it out.

“Ruggie, try shooting magic at me.”

“Eh? Sure... if you say so.”

Ruggie readied his magic pen and shoot an icicle his way.

A rune engraved wall formed out of air before the icicle could reach him and put Ruggie’s attack to a halt, the icicle propelling back to Ruggie’s direction.

Ruggie dodged to his right. “What was that for Leona-san!?”

“I knew something’s fishy.” Leona looked back at the bracelet. He decided to use his unique magic on the bracelet next, but instead of the bracelet disintegrating, the same runic wall circled around the bracelet, preventing it from getting destroyed in the first place.

“The kid’s 100% magicless. They just use a method of using and channeling magic that is so old that nobody except the faeries use it in this present day.”

It was covered by Trein once when he talked about the history of magic when he was a first year or so, but because the method is so old, nobody considered that anybody would try to use it.

The only reason faeries can use the method is because they are naturally more in tune with nature than a majority of the magicians.

He initially thought that Crowley taught the kid, with Crowley being in charge of the kid’s stay here and all, but the bracelet said otherwise.

He still smelled a whiff of Lilia’s scent on the bracelet, even if the bracelet mostly reek of the kid’s scent at this point. And nothing of the crow on it.

And the bracelet is engraved with the non-verbal application of the runes meant for defensive purposes.

He supposed that it’s a good idea that the kid’s escaped.

That would have put everyone in Savanaclaw under Diasomnia’s radar otherwise, especially if Lilia’s already fond enough of the kid to consider them one of his own and teach the kid how to use the world’s Mana to channel magic.

“So what do we do about it Leona-san?”

Leona’s lips curve to a grin. “We wait for the right moment to hunt the kid and bring them to our territory.”

For the record, Yuu (Rei) only finally revealed what she identify as after the Magift tournament. So everyone else sans those in the know still think that Yuu (Rei) is a guy.

Yuu (Rei) doesn’t mind revealing it if people asked her about it, like Kalim and Lilia, but otherwise, she’ll keep quiet about it. If you don’t ask her, she won’t answer.

This piece is written to give a view on how the method of formalcraft works in this fic.

So yes, Mana allergies are a thing.

Yuu (Rei) might have her knowledge of the original Disney movies to back up for at times, but this time in Savanaclaw, her knowledge and savvy-ness backfired on her as Yuu (Rei) being savvy enough ended up making her a target by the Savanaclaw students since she nearly figured them out as culprits and believe that she now knows too much of their plans.

As for the language Alician, it’s not a made up language I had, but rather, it’s inspired by the band “Alice Schach and the Magic Orchestra”, who used the language for their songs.

My personal favorite song of the band is “FEHLT”, which is also included in the rhythm game Deemo. (I like the version used for the Diverse System album, AD Piano VII, more. Though both versions are equally good in their own right).
