#hey boss#u uh- u said i was working sun n wed- can i have more consistent days so i have days to block out for interviews?#.#uve been forewarned#ok so its four months into my gap year and HOLY SHIT JOB SEARCHING IS SO FRUSTRATING#so im working as a clerk at this law firm mon and wed (only 8 hours total tho)#n i THOT i had my reatil job in the bag but then boss goes “yea im really sorry but i cant give u three days - only sundays and weds”#so i was like great ok i need another job thats cool ill just bliock out sundays and weds for potential employers#THEN on sat boss texts n goes “ahhh i dont need u till next week- also can u switch ur wed to fri”. ??????? timing things tomorrow and im cutting a LOT very close
#i may see if i can work like... a 3-3.5 hour shift instead of a 4#that might fit better monday/wednesdays#and ask if i could be scheduled most future weekends#ill see how tomorrow goes but i might just text my manager and ask if i could talk w her one on one#or the assistant manager anyways#i havent seen my manager around in over a week#but anyways have a 1 on 1 and talk about my availability/scheduling#cause i like the job!!! but my classes this semester are pretty spaced out but not in a way that could fit a 4+ hour shift#or like maybe talk to her and say 'hey if i could be scheduled sun fri sat each week for 7-8 hours thatd be great'#cause that fulfills my part time hours + i get a decent amount of money + i have way more time to focus on that#the only thing is i JUST updated my availability for her but uh. that was before actually doing it in practice#amber's shit you can ignore

I can simultaneously complain that community is very difficult to concoct out of the modern cultural fabric and it's a fucking tragedy that your favorite people in the word are such rare encounters for most of us
And agree that, yes, 100%, the twice-a-year texters with (if you're lucky) equally biannual hang-outs are often the ridest-or-diest friends in the adult landscape.
Friendships as a teenager: we used to talk 5 hours every night now it’s down to 3… are we still friends 🤔? I wonder if they don’t like me anymore
Friendships as an adult: omg I’ve finally cleared up 20 minutes of my schedule to talk to my friend I haven’t spoken to in 4 months #bffs #we will find eachother in every life
