Imitation X (au)

Im sure that you guys have heard of theories for different shows? Not the interesting MatPat kind, the horror/bizarre ones that suck the childlike wonder from kids shows? Like the Phineas & Ferb theory or the Rugrats theory (both saying that all the kids are dead except for Candice/Angelica)? Well theres one for PPG called "the imagination theory" and my au is based off of it. (if interested keep reading but it gets long and i dont want clutter)

The imagination theory while interesting doesn't get.. explored often and just gets explained by youtubers some times? If you don't want to read all of it: the girls are normal and just play pretend superhero, the villains are all people from their lives and the Professor is their dad (duh)

I think the entire concept could be expanded on without changing the whole "normal girls thing". Enter imitation X! Basically everything happening is through the girls eyes and equate to something in the real world! Monsters are like shootings/bombings, villains are ordinary people, everything that happens is just them coping with their less than ideal lives. So i want to fit all the characters (main ones at least) into that idea as well as different episodes!

For now though lets start with the girls (this post is too long bezus)

Blossom

In Imitation X her real name is Blaine (meaning yellow.. yk how the prof gives bubbles/blossom names based off of how they act and buttercup just bc it also starts with b? yeah i kinda did that to bloss bc i wanted their named to sound similar oops)

When the girls came up with the game she was the one to make the rules which really just meant she tried her hardest to make up reason after reason for her to be special while her sisters couldn't do half the stuff she could. Eventually she just started having fun with the game and stopped being so controlling. When Buttercup/Bubbles played at first the whole thing was a mess (Butter wanting all gore and Bubbles wanting all cutesy stuff) so she came up with the girls backstory and set a middle ground for them

Shes not smarter than her sisters! I'd say shes more clever/quick to think but shes not like a super genius or anything and shes wrong pleanty. In imitation X Blossom is extremely responsible as always but she can also be selfish and throw the other girls under the bus. Out of the three of them shes the most willing to deal with their real world problems without the game and is the most tethered to reality. Which is how i think she can get away with things she herself did and blame it on buttercup or bubbles!

Buttercup

Her name is Briar (meaning thorny patch/strength or exalted one)

She loves all things superheros(in this au at least), so she was the one to come up with the game HOWEVER it was a totally gritty solo game that she wanted absolutley no one else to take part in.. until she got lonely lol. 1 punching all your villians with no plot gets boring quick. Eventually she asked bubbles to draw her superhero for her (her supersona??) and bubbles wanted to play bc it looked cool. Ofc Buttercup put her through different trials to let her join,, and even then Bubbles became her sidekick at first (which led to squables)

Shes willing to deviate from their game to hang out with her friends who think its lame or whatnot (did i mention theyve been playing since they were five up until theyre 12?) She made the whole game as an escape from the real world so its pretty easy for her to get back into it after a while. Buttercup isn't a hot head in imitation X! She gets angered/annoyed easily but instead of blowing up she. freezes? up? She'll stop talking when shes been angered and isolate herself! Which is why Buttercup (in game) is so violent! Real world Butters cant express herself the way she wants so she uses the game as an outlet. Shes very defensive of her sisters (for reasons that will be revealed later) but at the same time shes very ready to abandon them when they get on her nerves. And i mean abandon, she will leave the house for days!

Bubbles

Last but not least (shes my beloved guys i just never mention it) Blair! (meaning dweller on the plains and is meant to invoke images of meadows/fields.. shes the main character if you didnt notice /j)

When Buttercup told her to draw for her she fell inlove with the idea of being a superhero and was willing to do all the trials and whatnot just to play. She ofc loved being a powerpuff and made the strongest connection with the game.She did get tired of being a sidekick though bc she got to make almost no choices so she came up with monsters and played as them until she got tired of it and started to argue with buttercup about the whole thing. Yeah it def took time for her to become a real superhero duo w/ Butters but when it happened she'd never been happier

Bubbles constantly sees things through the game. No shes not crazy she knows its not happening but she almost never stops pretending. It took a long few years before Blossom got her to stop at school (for the most part). Bubbles goes through the most in the au and therefore she likes to actively cope. Its extremely hard for her to snap into reality and when she does shes really not herself, very muted and disgruntled. It takes her a surprisingly long time to start coping again as well, awareness throws her for a loop and she will make a fuss of it. Shes more of a crybaby and is easily scared in the real world (she tries not to cry in front of others though ofc) people like her but she'd rather stay to herself than be around other people. Bubbles in the game is far more sassy than she is because she wished she did speak her mind and do whatever makes her happy whenever she felt like.

SO interesting. every time he talks about devouring other players' skills and making them his own....i am literally losing my mind. in the game against chigiri, kunigami, and reo, when isagi talks about devouring barou's darkness and turning it into light....catch me literally screaming out loud about him. his growth and "leveling up" is SO much fun to watch/read and i AM dying over it. every time he learns a new weapon or figures out how to better use one, i AM in my bed pumping my fist and screaming go best friend you go best friend!!! i believe the next chp is the game against bachira, rin, aryu, and tokimitsu, and i can already feel myself losing it a little bit.

ok so like i say this flippantly bc i’ve been told the way i play rpgs is not normal but. all i did to break continuity COMPLETELY beyond repair was complete the “steal the idol” and “kill kagha” quests before rescuing halsin. bg3 presents you with 4 possible routes to deal with the Tiefling/Druid crisis in the grove, each of which is suggested by an npc & appears in the quest log, and which can be mixed and matched to an extent…

1. nettie: find halsin -> peaceful resolution, good-aligned tav/durge, ✅ halsin ❌ minthara

2. minthara: raid the grove -> violent resolution (goblins kill T&D), evil-aligned tav/durge, ❌ halsin ✅ minthara

3. zevlor: expose or assassinate kagha. if not playing as a druid, investigating her corruption is difficult & unintuitive without using a guide

expose her first -> peaceful resolution, good-aligned tav/durge, ✅ halsin ❌ minthara

just kill her -> violent resolution as D wipe out T, tav/durge’s motives open to interpretation, ✅ halsin ✅ minthara

4. mol: steal the idol of silvanus

failed stealth -> same result as “just kill her”

succeed stealth -> no narrative consequences

i highlighted 2 things here that i think are really, really serious problems with bg3’s act 1 writing. stealing the idol in stealth or out of the druids’ line of sight does nothing. the same druid faction that was willing to kill a kid for attempting the same thing, and massacre all the tiefling refugees if you visibly take the idol, don’t react at all, even if you go about it in a goofy & obvious way 👇

second, if you steal the idol without stealthing or kill kagha without exposing her as a shadow druid first, all of the druids (even rath & nettie) turn hostile, kettle the mostly-unarmed tiefling refugees in the prison area, and exterminate them. fighting to defend the tieflings means wiping out the druids, because all of them will fight to the death, and it’s very hard to save any tieflings. in my playthrough the only survivors were pandirna and mol’s gang. it’s horrific. it’s hard to play. and, crucially, it’s a roleplay decision that i stood by—i’m playing a durge who would jump to the quickest, most violent method of “helping” the tieflings—and wanted to see the consequences of, after playing a hyper competent lawful good paladin on my first pass. yk? it’s an rpg. so.

there are none.

i’m serious there are no rammies. none of the origin characters have a single comment about the carnage you just caused/carried out—not astarion, who has so much to say about your sexual liaisons with other party members, minor beats in their companion questlines, and offbeat possible player choices like destroying the monastery with him inside then resurrecting him; not wyll, who personally knew the tieflings and was invested in their survival on top of his firm moral code; not even karlach, a tiefling.

and worse than that… neither does fucking halsin. when you rescue him from the goblins’ jail, even if you’ve just encouraged minthara to go raid the empty grove in search of survivors to execute, he will thank you exactly as if you defended the grove and breeze right along into talking about what a great new first druid francesca’s gonna be. if you reply with “first and only druid,” he just remarks that how she’ll have to recruit and rebuild, and starts talking about how much he loves being out in nature with you, his new best friend.

his character is. completely off its hinges.

and, since you didn’t kill minthara or stop her from raiding the grove, presumably she will also be available as a companion later on. this is like. a story-breaking oversight. the “druids attack tieflings” route is straight up unfinished. and it’s really weird in a game that is so much about almost-boundless player choice, and which has such detailed dialogue trees for unlikely combinations of player choices. clearly, the writing team expected me to reload as soon as the druids turned hostile and approach kagha/the idol “the right way,” but here’s the thing—i don’t want to. i thought fumbling this delicate situation so catastrophically was in character and really interesting, and i wanted to keep playing with that choice. bg3 works very hard, and usually succeeds, in mimicking the feel of a tabletop game, but it would be insane for a dm to say “stop, no, rewind, go back, do that better, i don’t want to narrate a bad outcome here. make a different choice, or i’ll pretend you did.”

if that’s the way you’re gonna be, just give me a game over screen and be honest about it. right?

i feel like you suit inso's law! that webtoon is about a girl whose life turns into a manhwa she's read. there's a reverse harem + it touches upon classic tropes that you'd normally see in a manhwa, and it also includes a sorta sad message about loneliness and being left behind. i do rlly like this manhwa it was both a very fun read, as well as being insanely sad </3 i feel like the main character, in a way, sorta suits you, fae! she's so cute and she's adored by literally everyone! it's one of my comfort fics just cause, despite it being unrealistic with the yk being pulled into a webtoon thing, it's sorta realistic in the way the manhwa expresses the character's emotions!!

before the bus moves, you stand by his seat and make small talk with him about volleyball, before you realize the bus is moving and you have to sit down, but you’re still in the middle of a conversation with him, so you just sit next to him and continue like nothing happened

the school you’d been going to had a really big court where both the girls and boys were playing in the same gymnasium on opposite sides of the court, so when you arrived and changed and all, you were like “wanna warm up together” couple goals <3

pls semi, taichi and tendō would probably tease the fuck out of him lmfao. he’d just glare at them but he has such a big blush on his cheeks as he stretches and warms up with you that the glare is completely ineffective 

you go to sit next to him on the bus ride home, but the day’s exhaustion catches up to you, plus the bus’s movements are lulling you, so you end up falling asleep on his shoulder, and when shirabu first notices that you’d actually fallen asleep, he looks down at you with such a dreamy and awestruck face. goshiki took a picture and likes to torment him with it. shirabu has it as his lockscreen now lol 

as your boyfriend, he’s the exact same. very standoffish to everyone outwardly but to you? it’s a different story. 

nonetheless it’s not very obvious. so yes, he will have a scowl on his face as he tells you off, but his lips are slightly upturned and there’s a little pink shade on his cheeks that show just how endearing he thinks you are 

really loves to practice with you because he loves seeing you in your zone like that. also you look hot

Iwaizumi tells the worst dad jokes and Kyotani, wanting to beat him, started doing it too and it drives everyone insane

Yahaba and Matsukawa get along surprisingly well. Both are true crime freaks and bond over their forensic files obsessions

Matsukawa didn’t really like his thick eyebrows so he got one of his female friends to pluck it for him, but almost cried and gave up after the first hair. Oikawa called him a pussy for the next year

Hanamaki jokingly flirts with everyone on the team so most of them just got used to it, but it still confuses Kindaichi to the point of mental breakdown

Makki called Kyotani ‘puppy’ as a joke once and now mad dog is truly terrified of him

Kyotani’s dog absolutely ADORES Oikawa and it’s the funniest shit to the rest of the team

Mattsun and Makki play DnD and once convinced Yahaba and Kyotani to join. Kyotani kept rolling to fight everyone and Yahaba was a bard that kept rolling to seduce everyone. They kept yelling across the board so they had to kick them out

Outside of his school uniform, Goshiki specifically wears only plaid

Tendou makes little chocolates for the whole team every once in a while so they don’t think he’s scary

Semi and Shirabu once had a fistfight in an abandoned McDonald’s parking lot while Tendou filmed and Goshiki cheered them on

here's a prompt ?(or whateverits called): not a request ! also  ، ¿ ¡ ૮₍ 𖦹 ˕ ×` ₎ა ! ?·＊·  anon or 🧛🏻‍♀️ anon(emoji form) .  : the sickie hates today so much. they had to go to school bc it was a important practice match they had to be in. but they got a stomach bug yay! good 4 them !! they woke up feeling like shit , they knew they were sick. they wanted to stay in bed . praying to any god that they weren't gonna be sick. they fell asleep again saying just to rest for a few more minutes (well it ended up being 30 minutes ) now they only had 30 minutes to get to school, they knew they actually had to wake up. running out of bed to get there clothes and change as fast as they could (they dont shower in the morning and they were to lazy to brush their teeth) rushing out of bed that fast made them all dizzy . great . now they're stomach hurts. yep they were gonna vomit. they knew they couldn't make it to the bathroom . so they found a place that could store it , they rushed finding something in their room . they searched their desk. feeling the vomit rising up. shutting their mouth bc they dont want their desk getting vomit on it. it was so strong it went in their nose. they couldnt hold it in anymore. throwing up in their desk  wetting all the papers. homeworks . they were gonna get in trouble at school. they had no hw anymore . well they were gonna be late to practice if they cleaned it up.so they ignored it. gagging at the smell of it. they finally finished their daily routine . they skipped breakfast (just like most of the times). they grabbed a mask and went to school . playing games on their phone to distract themselves.  sadly that didnt work . they got all dizzy , they put their phone. feeling too dizzy they nearly tripped . they countied waking to school. remembering they only had 5 minutes left they had to continue walking faster. they started running. while running they were thinking abt how they got sick. :: I prob  got sick from some1 in my class. yeah. they threw up in the classroom and they sat near me. they were probably coughing alot.. ew.. :: they arrived at school. going into the volleyball ball gym changing room. no1 was there . they were probably practicing.  suddenly they felt their stomach growl. it hurts so much. why today they ask. they wrapped their arms around them and it hurts so bad. when it kinda stop they had the courage to change into their volleyball club uniform and go to the gym. while walking there they started coughing.having a coughing fit made every1 look at them . they hated that . they really dont like  being the center of attention.  some1 from their team asked "hey you ok?" they just said yeah. the coach said to run 4 laps around the gym. uh how much they hated running. they only did 1 and a half.(END PT 1) they couldn't handle 4 laps. while some1 was running they saw them hiding (so no1 can see them slacking off) they asked "um?? what's wrong ? ud probably get in trouble if coach finds out.  I'm already on my 3rd lap . ig in  3 mins its over. r u just gonna stay here? and also if u act like this it the match . you'll get in big trouble. they just said "ok". when the coach said ok! they went back in the gym and prepared the net. they started a sneezing fit which caught som1 to give them tissue. they eventually stopped . they're nose is so stuffy they can barely breathe.  they really want 1 more tissue but they don't have any , they ended up using their arm as a tissue. well atleast only 1 person saw. every1 was practicing.  it was gonna end it 10 mins . they're shocked how they went so far. when they setted the ball they suddenly felt they're stomach grumble. they cant just suddenly go to the bathroom.  they had to wait. uh they started feeling nauseous and they silently stared gagging.  then came the wet coughs , they could feel the vomit loudly.  end . pt1

(contin.) they had to fake spike? idk . they didnt have the power to do so. obviously they looked like they were faking it. they're team lost, they honestly didnt care . then some1 hit then on their back saying to,work hard. some vomit came up . they swallowed it . they thought it tasted so bad. they started coughing really loudly.  every1 was looking (they had to rush to the bathroom but since every1 was looking they didn't want to make a scene so they didnt ) they waited till every1 wrnt to they changing room /club room.  finally every1 besides 1 person who was a benched player went to the toilet . oh no. they cant wait that there was vomit coming up they wanted to wait for at least 2 mins , but they couldn't only 36 seconds.  they started to vomit .  in their hands . dripping on the gyms floor. they couldn't make it into a stall so they threw up in the bathroom floor. threw up already half of what they had. they heard the doors unlocking from the bathroom (it was the benched player) they rushed into a stall so he couldn't see them  . they walked out and saw vomit.  they didnt care , they walked out like nothing happened. they were still vomiting , they didn't have enough strength to propt themselves up to puke inside the toilet,  they just ended  up throwing up on the floor . they thought they were done after dry heaving for 2 minutes.  getting up to go to the changing room to change into their uniform.  they didnt tie their tie properly but they dont care. going into their classroom late. like 10 minutes late. they got scolded for wearing their tie wrong and being late.also not bringing hw. yay good for them this class they didnt do anything. so they just fell asleep /WITH THEIR MASK ON!// pt2done

while waiting they double bagged the plastic bags to prevent in from seeping thru. one the bus came. the sickie regretted going on already feeling dizzy once they sat down , they sat at the back where no1 sits (although that would make them more dizzer, but they didnt know that) after 5 minutes of the ride (there was some traffic. normally itd take 10 minutes. but since there is traffic they didnt how long they'd have to wait.) "[caretakers name]...while wet coughing.mm candy." they rushed to give the candy. it soothed their throat for 5 minutes until making them dizzy . lying down on the caretaker,while they play with their hair. they fell asleep. after 20 minutes (still in traffic) they woke up to the bus driving. they woke up and asked for water. they drank the water in small sips. they didnt vomit. the they drank it quickly before spitting it out. then coughing. they nearly threw up. swallowing it . asking while coughing for the 'bag'. they grabbed it and held on it and tried getting it out bc they were very nauseous. they couldn't. until the bus continued moving. they're grip to it was very weak. the bus suddenly moving made their stomach growl. and letting of their bag to hold on their stomach. the care taker asked "what's wrong ???? you let go... r u gonna ..." "no. stop.u will make me.stop.talking abt it"(they hated vomit so much thinking abt it makes them gag) the sickie was shaking. they messed up dropping the bag and it flew away. they caretaker getting their jacket just incase yk they vomit. after the bus stops again. a couple and a 2 ppl (4 alltogether)decided to sit in the back. their stomach hurts so much... they started crying. the bus started moving more . 2 more stops till their stop. they gagged. letting go of their hand on their face. "I'm gonna-" the caretaker getting the jacket and hugging the sickie to cover them . they threw up on the caretaker. the couple moved away in disgust whilst the 2 other ppl stayed. just on their phone. "ppl r looking...." "I want to leave.. " "''dont worry , no1 is looking'' the care taker grabbed their bag looking for a (idk the word but it's like a towel but not , you stick it on some1 face and it cools them down) they place it on the sickie. they sickie just dry heaving at this point. they said "sorry.." it's ok. - ¿ ¡ ૮₍ 𖦹 ˕ ×` ₎ა ! ? / 🧛🏻‍♀️ , which haikyuu character do you think this is? also very bad prompt :). again,not a request.

This sounds a lot like Kunimi to me, but I'm also getting Kita, Ennoshita, and Jin (Soekawa) from this. Maybe Yamaguchi too.

For Kunimi, his primary caretaker is the sweet but helpless Kindaichi. Kindaichi really means well, but he's terrible at taking care of sick people, so he just makes everything worse for Kunimi in the end. The rest of Seijoh ends up helping eventually, but it's just Kindaichi for a while, and he does not handle that well. Kunimi basically takes care of himself while Kindaichi stands in a corner muttering apologies. After this incident, Kindaichi resolves to be a better caretaker and starts doing research and taking first aid classes later on.

Kita's primary caretaker is Aran. He's much more competent than Kindaichi and takes good care of Kita for as long as the captain needs it. There isn't much to say after the incident because Aran handles everything so well.

Ennoshita is stuck with the other benched 2nd years (Kinoshita and Narita). They're okay caregivers but nothing special. Ennoshita is the most nurturing of their trio, and with him out of commission, Kinoshita and Narita do their best to help their friend. Ennoshita still has to do some things for himself, but Kinoshita and Narita can at least know the basics of taking care of someone, so Ennoshita still has it better than Kunimi.

Jin gets two caretakers too because why not. His caretakers are Reon and Semi. Both are very experienced with taking care of others and are the unofficial team parents, so Jin has it very good. He recovers pretty quickly thanks to the excellent care he receives from Semi and Reon.

Yamaguchi's primary caretaker is obviously Tsukishima. Daichi and Suga try to help too, but Yamaguchi gets panicked by anyone who isn't Tsuki, so Tsuki has to deal with basically everything. Tsuki also ends up calling Akiteru for help because he's just so out of his depth caring for another person. Akiteru, on the other hand, took care of Tsuki for years and is a wonderful caregiver. Yamaguchi recovers well with the comforting presence of his best friend and the lovely caretaking of Akiteru.

What do you think about Azula as an antagonist? Also another question which had my 16 year old ass crying: which dynamic was better? Aang and Katara OR Katara and Zuko?

honestly.. the best dynamic was sokka and zuko sadfhdsaofhso they deserved to be best friends instead of zuko and aang, no but fr if we are talking about romantically... i think aang and katara make a better couple, the chemistry between zuko and katara is 100% there but the entire show they focused on developing aang and katara’s relationship/friendship it wouldn't be right to disregard it completely just bc zuko and katara had a few scenes together i kinda love the idea of katara and zuko being friends, since like we saw in the episode where he took her to find her mom’s killer he stood behind her the whole time, he supported her and defended her through everything, i really thought in the end when she decides to spare the man’s life that zuko was gonna do something in the last minute and hurt him yet he left him crying on the floor and followed katara, and then yk katara helping him fight azula and all that... they had a deep connection, i wouldn't be surprised if they had one of the most meaningful friendships out of the whole group. not me saying all this even tho i don't really mind any of the couples sadfhoadsihf

asdufhdas im sorry but i love talking if you don’t want to read all of this because even i know i should have just sat there and ate my food just know that she is one of my favorite characters now, i haven’t stopped thinking about her story since i finished the show. i have watched so many videos about her since i finished it, so i have so many thoughts about her, there’s this one hour long video exploring her psychology and when i tell you it changed my life it changed my whole life sdugfaods.

anyway.

azula is probably one of the best antagonists in any piece of media. period. 

something i loved is how her life and zuko’s parallel each other, zuko had his mother’s love while azula had their father’s “love”, each of them got both sides of the same coin but it affected them in different ways. azula had her father’s attention and approval while being treated like an outcast by her mother, meanwhile zuko got his mother’s love and affection while his father only showed him disappointment and disdain. 

azula shows since she is a child that she lacks basic empathy, maybe it’s because her father only showed her that the way she was accepted was through fear and power. she tells zuko their father is going to kill him so calmly it’s creepy, talks about the death of lu ten like it’s a minor inconvenience, like she doesn’t understand anything aside from their ultimate goal which is overpowering everything and everyone. 

she is such an interesting character and i wouldn’t be surprised if every single aspect of her psyche is intentional, she has been so affected by the war and her father’s manipulation that she doesn’t understand basic human interactions, like flirting with guys her age, or even playing a simple volleyball game, she has to win or gain something. she can’t just act “normal” because she knows nothing other than her father’s motivations. also very interesting how she sees any form of emotion, empathy and kindness as weakness. when people express their emotions through vulnerability she disregards it as an act, almost like she doesn’t understand people could feel or express themselves without an ulterior motive. she even consistently manipulates her friends, when one of them does nothing but be loyal to her and the other one is so apathetic that would never go against her. i think when she starts to spiral is when mai tells her that she loves zuko more than she fears her, not only is it possible for it to remind her of how her mother treated her but it also seems like she couldn't comprehend how something as trivial as love could overpower fear, the one thing she solely believes to be what moves the world. it breaks her. after her father manipulates her once again, and basically breaks this idea that she has in her head that she is more powerful and untouchable than anybody else, by not letting her join him and try to reward her with the fire lord title, it’s when she really starts breaking down and starts distrusting everyone, after all everyone she trusted has abandoned her. 

her last few scenes are so disturbing. the scene where she talks to her mother and how she basically keeps thinking that anything other than perfection is unacceptable while at the same time she has in the back of her head her mother telling her how she loved her. and then her going insane while fighting zuko, not even looking like herself, not even using the same manipulation she used to defeat her opponents like she always has, she was just unhinged, instead or defending herself her only goal was to attack and that’s basically what made her lose. even in the last very scene when she is screaming and moving around like a child having a tantrum it feels like something left her, like she felt so defeated there was nothing else she could do aside from scream in pure rage. her idea that she was undefeatable and bigger than everyone else was gone after all. she almost looks non human. 

i read in a comment something that made me want to cry lmao but in the last scene i was wondering why didn’t she just break the chains, she has after all broken out of a literal rock, but simple metal chains manage to contain her? even after she is raging and screaming and crying? and that would the perfect moment for her emotions to take over and become her ultimate weapon during her fire control? well the comment basically explained that by seeing katara choose to help zuko when he was hurt, choosing to give her back to the threat and possibly putting both of them at risk, by choosing to save zuko’s life instead of ending azula’s she was basically showing azula how love, sympathy and kindness were always going to win against fear, that azula was so insignificant in that moment because zuko, her friend, was a million times more important than finally finishing azula off, that katara put their lives in danger for the possibility of saving zuko’s, showing azula she was nothing in comparison to someone she cared about. so azula in that moment chose to stop fighting, after all neither zuko nor katara feared her, and that was the only thing that she knew.

and she was 14 the whole time. 14 years old. dealing with an abusive father (apparently the comics allure to ozai being abusive toward ursa)  and a toxic upbringing, her uncle believed she was a monster even when she was just a child who had been raised by a tyrant father during a fuckign war, her mother showed kindness to her brother while detaching herself from her (maybe azula reminded her of ozai), the only form of love she knew wasn’t love it was manipulation, she doesn’t even understand basic human emotion... 

i hate how some people want a redemption arc for her, as much as i feel like she deserves one, as much as i want her to know what acceptance and respect and love feels like, her being a villain who knows nothing but hatred and who is power hungry, someone whose emotional trauma is so deep rooted that she believes her own mother, a mother she essentially creates in her head, wants to do her harm and pit people against her, is what makes her such an interesting character. her story isnt meant for her to be redeemed, it’s meant to show how broken she is, to see the result the war had on someone who was born into it, to show zuko’s possible result had he not had people willing to help him, it’s meant to be despairing and heartbreaking.

her story is miserable and so fascinating. one of the best written villains in history.
