I might be bias, but Dashi’s definitely hosting the best sleepovers. I mean just look at her bedroom

She has the perfect pad to crash at. Her room is cozy and fun. There’s tonnes of cameras to take cute pics and selfies with (plus a sunglasses collection to make them extra silly) , a rug to lay to and gossip, mirror for late night makeovers and the bed just looks extra cozy. Her room has the perfect atmosphere for a killer sleep over

Plus, I feel like Dashi’s naturally going to host better sleep overs because she’s very chilled out. She’s could go with any type of sleepover whether it’s a stay in eat ice cream and yap or late night do something stupid sleepover. Peso would be freaking out if he snuck out to toilet paper someone’s house. Heck I reckon he’d be nervous about a late night maccas run.

Also Dashi’s a very sentimental type of gal, so you know the photos and stories from the night would be great. She’d be great at both hosting and commemorating the sleepover.

I mean just look at her room at night! Tell me that she doesn’t have the best room for a sleepover??

So me personally I think Dashi’s definitely hosting the best sleepovers because she’s the most flexible host and has the best pad.

I mean if you wanna plead your case I’d be happy to hear it. I mean don’t get wrong I’m sure Peso would be great at hosting sleepovers but… better than Dashi? Nah.

so, fun story, within DAYS of making this post i caught a nasty cough at work that i’m still trying to get rid of (💀 the start of the school year releases every illness imaginable upon the city, it’s a petri dish in there, not even considering covid) and i have been eating so much soup, frankly an obscene amount of soup, specifically miso soup so i thought i’d share tonight’s soup on the soup post: we got miso soup with oyster mushrooms tofu and wakame. very good, quick and easy, tasty tasty, good for me will cure me (maybe)

sakusa doesn't know what he's doing here.

standing outside your door, tightly gripping onto the flimsy plastic of a convenience store bag which was filled with various medicines and groceries for him to cook. to him, this felt a bit too intimate. showing up to your home unannounced because your classmate told him you were out sick and he knew that your parents weren’t home, so who would look after you if it wasn’t him? 

realistically, he could turn around right now, you didn’t know he was here yet. but there was something unfamiliar which pulled him towards your front door. an unsettling sensation bloomed deep in his chest when he’d imagine you sick, all alone on your bed. 

before he knew it, his legs were pulling him towards your door, he sighs as he presses his finger against your doorbell, hoping that you weren’t sleeping. a couple moments later, the door shifts open and he sees you, bundled in his dark sweatshirt and a pair of large trousers, and his expression softens slightly.

“oh, yn” he mumbles, gently rubbing your cheek, “you look so unwell.”

“why are you here kiyoomi?” you ask, obviously congested as you looked up at him confused. you knew about his aversion to disease, and how he’d go out of his way to ensure that he wouldn’t get sick, so you weren’t exactly sure on why he was here, holding you gently like this.

kiyoomi shrugs nonchalantly and pushes past you, closing the door as he slips off his shoes and neatly places them near the door. 

“i just felt like it, why aren’t you in bed?” he questions, unpacking all the medicines and aligning them in a neat row before moving to wash the vegetables and fruits, looking over at you occasionally.

“i had a really horrible headache, and i couldn’t get to sleep.” you explained, moving to lean your head on his back, gently brushing your fingers against his arm. kiyoomi smiles to himself, looking back at you with a soft expression.

“tired?” he asks gently, curling his fingers against your soft hair. you nod in response, letting out a yawn as you rubbed your face against his back.

“so exhausted, i hate being sick like this,” you complained. he thought you were cute, with your nose red and dry as you looked up at him expectantly, “what are you cooking?”

“okayu.” he states simply, washing the rice efficiently, “you should go lie down on the couch, have you had any medicine today?” he asks pointedly, letting out a deep sigh when you shake your head no. “you should be taking better care of yourself, there’s pei ko on the island bench.”

“i know, but i’ve just been so bedridden today.” you slip away from him, and kiyoomi can't help but miss the comfort of your warmth. he watches as you pour 10 ml of the thick medicine into a plastic cup, before downing the medicine, it’s sickeningly sweet on your tongue, and he smiles when he sees you scrunch your face up. 

“go lie down on the couch while i make this for you.” he sighs, gently pulling you in for a soft kiss before walking you to the sofa, he guides you onto lying onto the couch, pushing your hair behind your ears as he adjusts the pillow behind you. 

you look up at him as he works, letting him pamper you as you feel the weight of your sickness settled in your bones. sakusa kiyoomi was infamous for being a perfectionist, but he let that go when it was just you. he’d gently lay blankets over your body, pressing kisses against your cough ridden lips between each layer.

“okay, just try to sleep while i cook for you, and i’ll wake you up when it’s done. okay?” he asks, his voice uncharacteristically soft as he strokes your hair, lulling you to sleep.

he promptly moves back to the kitchen, continuing to swiftly cut shallots and occasionally check on the simmering pot as the sea-like smell of dashi powder wafts through the air of your home. sakusa would have a small smile on his face when he heard you sleeping soundly, this was oddly domestic, and he somehow didn’t mind the predicament. 

a half hour later you feel kiyoomi gently nudging you awake, the tray of okayu and a variety of different side dishes on a tray which is laid on the coffee table.

“is it ready?” you asked tiredly, rubbing your eyes as kiyoomi nodded.

“yeah, here.” he passes you a box of tissues and rubs your shoulder when you blow your nose, “ready to eat?” he asks curiously, helping you sit up.

“yeah, thank you. it looks really nice, baby.” you smile up at him, bringing the metal spoon to your mouth. the porridge was warm on your tongue, and had a satisfying light taste. he was good at this.

you sat in silence, leaning against his shoulder as the only sounds which surrounded you was the metal scraping against the wooden bowl. kiyoomi was glad that you seemed to be enjoying the meal he prepared, he would bury his nose into your hair as he held you close, circling his fingers against your waist.

he watches as you set the cutlery on the finished tray and he hums softly.

“did you enjoy it?” he asks curiously, “made your throat feel a bit better?”

“yeah, it was really soothing, thank you omi.” you reply, curling against his chest.

“okay, let’s get you to bed then.” he’d scoop you up into his arms, walking you towards your warm bedroom and tucking you in tight, “i’ll come join you in a bit, i’m gonna clean up first.” but before he could leave you clutched onto his arm tight.

“stay, just for a bit.” you ask, looking up at him with tired eyes, “just until i fall asleep.” 

who was he to say no.

sakusa nods and slips into the bed next to you, pulling you against his chest and wrapping the blankets around you securely. he lets out a deep sigh of relief, feeling his muscles relax in your comforting presence, even if he can already feel his throat tightening with the same sickness as yours. 

“feeling better?” he asks, twirling your hair against your finger as he feels your head shift up and downwards against his chest.

“yeah, a lot better since you got here.” you admit, “it was miserable being home all alone today.” making kiyoomi nod in response.

“sounds boring, i’m glad i came since you weren’t eating your proper nutrients, hm?” he scolds, smiling against your scalp, “it’s how you’re supposed to get better, silly girl,” you nod lazily in response.

“i know, but i was just so tired.” you whine,

“then rest, and be quiet now.” he shushes you, pressing a final kiss to your lips before cradling your head in his arms, signalling that he wanted to sleep too.

sakusa kiyoomi would gently pepper kisses against your temple as he felt your slow breaths rise up and down against him, he’d spend hours memorising the pattern, occasionally matching his breaths to yours. he’d shift his hold on you when you moved around in your sleep, sometimes taking the subconscious initiate to curl against him, wrapping your arms tightly as you’d nuzzle your soft head against him.

kiyoomi didn’t think he was built for this, the domesticity of somebody else in his arms. he was scared of course, it was so him to be afraid of contracting your disease, but he didn’t necessarily think about it this time. you were his priority now, so he was okay with the high chance of having the flu than watch you suffer in your lonesome. maybe the way you’d fit perfectly in his arms every time would make him rethink his innate desires, because kiyoomi had a very individualistic mindset, his whole future was planned out since the ripe age of 11, but maybe he’d want to welcome you into that too.

a couple weeks later, you look over to your boyfriend and hear a newly familiar sound,

“a-achoo!” he sneezes, cringing as he wipes his nose, “it’s all over for me” he sighs dramatically, leaning against your shoulder as he seeks your warmth, letting you spoon feed him bits of okayu with poached chicken.

💭 — IGNORING THE 3D EXPERIENCE:

i’m literally SHAKING.. yesterday i was going through something and i just- didn’t want to go through it anymore… so i started telling myself [ technically i was hearing God to tell me to do this, so i thank him really ] to ignore what was happening around me and to affirm my problem away.

WHEN I TELL YOU IT WENT AWAY????? now not immediately after i started affirming but after like five minutes it FINALLY went away and i was sitting in shock? it’s literally THAT easy i cannot even explain how easy it was.. i have been doing EVERYTHING WRONG.

immediately made my night better.. i’m still so in shock because i’m so accustomed to thinking i have to do so much to get things to make me feel better but.. I DONT, and for me this goes back to a lot of scripture in the bible for me to ignore the 3D so idk why i wasn’t doing it??? anyways, YALL IGNORE IT!!! whatever you want is yours, just ignore whatever is in front of you and PERSIST i promise y’all it’s going to come to pass i PROMISEEEEE.

and if anyone has this question: no i did not move or do anything, literally i was laying down watching dashie and coryxkenshin while affirming, you don’t have to do anything special to get it!

That devil-may-care attitude. That nonchalant nap he decides to take.

Everything about the way Chase lies back and takes a nap in the Sphere of Yun is mimicing Dashi, from the arms pillowed behind his head, right down to crossing his left leg over his right in the exact same pose and position.

There are little habits Chase seemed to have learned from or at least picked up from Dashi in their time together.

Like how a few of the ways that Chase interacts with Omi are similar to the ways Dashi interacted with Omi in the brief time they got together.

Chase's playful demeanor when he's up against Omi in a match,

And some of the little bits of the way Dashi displays physical affection too.

(Though everything Chase picked up from Dashi, Chase does add his own smug flair to. Which probably makes it work even better with Omi.)

But in this case, I think Chase is emulating Dashi specifically because he's trying to be as irreverent and irritating as Chase always found Dashi at times like this. But it's also just an effective way of ending a conversation.

Chase's reaction to it back in the day was definitely something akin to Omi's.

Unfortunately for Chase, it's not as effective at getting on Jack's nerves as it is when Dashi was using it to get on Omi and Chase's nerves.

But it's cute that Chase's invoking his old friend at all here.

Mane Six Redesign! 🌟 + Finalized Cutie Mark Redesigns!

these ponies are the only things keeping me sane during this insane time guys! hope they can help u too if you’re having a tough time^^

Some notes about their designs below if you’re interested! :D

Finally redesigned their cutiemarks! I wanted them to be as intricate as their cutie mark story! I tried to make them match my style as well, cause the originals didn’t really fit too well in my interpretations. these will probably be the ones i use from now on!

Twilight of course has her iconic blunt cut, I think the ponytail suits her straight to the point, sarcastic but loving and fun personality in the first season! her hair will slowly start to loosen into a low tied back ponytail as she learns the magic of friendship :’) if you saw my Older Mane Six Redesigns you can see what I mean! She also has birthmarks around her chest and horn! While marks are seen in Pegasi usually, they are seen in Unicorns in rare cases. When she becomes an Alicorn, creatures mistakenly think she was born a Pegasus.

I feel like Applejack, in her traditional country girl style would have a longer mane than originally! I gave her Pear Butter’s hair texture, and though she doesn’t really know how to maintain it, she keeps it long in honor of her mother. But! she does keep it braided to keep it out of the way. Vitiligo bc I think it would be common among Earth Ponies, supposedly mirroring the way sun dances on the soil.It also is what causes her freckles! Also, I made her hair similar to the shape of a bitten apple! I think it rly suits her as the CORE (pun intended) apple! :p

Fluttershy!! Shorter mane/tied up bc the animals always try to claw and tangle themselves in it. Her silhouette is meant to juxtapose Dash’s, despite their similar design choices! (ie similar length manes, tails, both pegasus ofc) this is to really emphasize the fact that Pegasi come in so many varieties! When people say she should have just been an Earth Pony makes me so sad, bc that’s the whole point! She isn’t your typical pegasus but we love her for it! Multiple pink shades in her mane to mirror Celestia, as many ponies later point out her likeness to her— I also think it’s an interesting point of what exactly is the beauty standard in Equestria! Fluttershy has often been remarked as very beautiful, and I’d like to think her similarity to the Princess is part of that. She also has hoof marks on her! All pegasi do and in rare cases, they relate directly to their future cutie mark!

RARITY MY DIVA !!!! Ofc had to give her the most luxurious mane of all. She has a curly hair type, and is arguably the only one of the Mane Six who knows how to properly care for her hair type 😭 don’t worry! she teaches her friends and it’s wonderful (i wonder who i mentioned earlier that rly needs her help…. 💎🍎…..) I wanted her to invoke the feeling of the original myths of unicorns, with their lankiness and long, flowing white coats. She was actually my first redesign all the way back in august, and the only one i haven’t changed! I love her more than anything.

Pinkie Pie was lowk the hardest for me because of her monotonous color palette 😭 but I didn’t want to change it bc she is simply!!! iconic!!!! I enjoy the designs of the original mane six and just wanted to alter elements of the designs rather then entirely recreate the characters from the ground up. She has very tight coily hair (my poc queen 🤞🤞) and decorates it with her favorite confetti! and sometimes frosting >< Gave her highlights to better see the shapes in her mane. And ofc gave her more blue accents! I think it’s so understated that she has two iconic colors in her palette and no one takes about it

And finally, Rainbow Dash! Dashie was so much fun bc I had such a clear vision for her. I wanted that sweet lightning bolt motif, both cause I think she would have a cut specifically for dazzling up her flying skills, but also to mirror AJ’s hair motifs! (for u appledashies out the ;3) and also because they’re always head to head, but rly they go hoof in hoof together and compliment their softer friends so well. Dash’s scars on her wings are from her first sonic rainboom! She was very lucky to have it heal stinger than before, and was the only filly to ever do so. Her Pegasi hoof marks are actually very plain, which is why she tattooed over them! she had them done is the same style of her cutie mark, and actually got one of her hoof wings tattooed white too. Speaking of her cutie mark, I wanted it to feel like the sonic rainboom really left an impression on her physically, dancing on her coat, forever with her :) it also, to dash’s enjoyment, is rad as heck!!

I can’t believe how far I’ve come from drawing these two. Like, both of them look so much better than when I first drew them it’s insane. Literally a year and my entire style has shifted and it totally shows! Ofc I’m still learning, anthros are still an entirely new territory for me but I’m having so much fun learning how do draw them!

Like I mentioned before this was the very first scene I ever came up with and it took me about 1-2 years to actually create it. I’d like to also try recreating MEOMI’s style again because I wanna redraw Emma so she isn’t terrifying lol.

Emma and Barnacles have such a special place in my heart. Their connection is beyond words (which sucks for me because I have to create words in order to explain it lol).

My goal is to have more interactions between all of the characters, I’ve just been so busy with all of my new ideas I keep forgetting about my old ones. I especially want to draw Tweak and Dashi more often. I just gotta find time to do it.

I’m still deciding what to post next week, ngl I have some Y.N. / Fae childhood content I’ve been dying to transfer, but I keep forgetting about it. That and I have those headcanons to make, bleh.

Do you have any redesigns of Chase Young? I think personally, his canon design is kind of ok like it’s not bad or good tbh it’s just that it was just missing something when you compare his canon design to the redesigns.

Well, it turned out like this, at the same time I sketched out the design of his reptilian version

I didn't think it was a good idea to completely remove the armor, firstly, in it he immediately makes it clear who he is (I asked a friend who didn't watch this show to say Chase, and he said that he looks like an army general. This is what I started from, taking the armor of Chinese generals as references) And another reason, it seems to me that he has a trait that he hides - he is paranoid. (a looooong time ago I read a post on Tumblr where one guy analyzed this topic much better than me, I wanted to insert a link here but I couldn't find the post) Look: he has an army of the best warriors of his time, he is a very strong fighter and magician, deservedly bearing the title of the Prince of Darkness. And with this new power, he began to wear protection, which he had not done before with such a list of data, he could calmly go out onto the battlefield in just a robe, sipping his stinking soup and looking down at enemies like dirt (although he already does the last 2 points) he also began to wear armored underwear with retractable spikes, why would an adequate, calm person do that?

Well, and he likes to stand out, even when he was kind, unlike Dashi and Guan, he wore cold colors and refused to shave his head and maybe he wants to remove reminders of his old version

So XS idea of Jack being not just Wuya's descendant but Dashi and Wuya's descendant. At first it's revealed Dashi has a descendant and everyone turns to look at Omi other than Chase who is offended as excuse you that's his kid-APPRENTICE his apprentice and he is far better than Dashi how dare you lower his little one to that idiots level.

It bring reveled it's Jack and not only is he Dashi's...he's Wuya's. Wuya is just there silently screaming.

A lot of people are like How? WTF. Chase takes one look at Jack thinks back to Dashi and Wuya and be like 'All this information does is give context to your idiocy this isn't a shock.'

Wuya is just wondering how she never realized before, all the inventions, stupid plans, breaking the timeline... also if Dashi had been able to he totally would have made robots to fight for him so he could nap longer... at least he got her desire for world domination.

Only when Jack become dragon of metal and is super competent, like as soon as he has the other dragons as friends supporting him and encouragement/guidance with his metal powers he is stupidly strong and all the other enemies are like '... ah...that checks out'

When I was younger I honestly used to hate this ship because I was so pissed that these two were sidelined so heavy that they were kinda forced together. I used to hate this ship.

Nowadays they are like endgame to me. I don’t know if it’s just cause I matured or if it’s because they have my ideal type of relationship but lowkey I adore this ship now.

Dashton is endgame.

I live them both platonically and romantically like they are just so happy and healthy and I love them and their interactions are adorable and holy shit like dear god love ‘em.

Nyanko: Hm, it’s about him. He is most likely again chasing after something boring. Ignore him.

Natsume: But if he sent a paper doll here..it surely has to be something..ah, sensei?

Nyanko: Nope~ I have an important duty of continuing my nap on top of warm zabuton- Hey! Don’t go so suddenly! What!

Natsume: I tried following the paper doll but where’s Natori-san? What would he do on a river beach like this..

Nyanko: I-i-it’s cold, Natsume! Oh, there’s a nice food stall over there. It has “Udon” written on it~ Ignore someone like him, let’s eat and then go back.

Natsume: Udon..?

Natori: Heyyyyyy!!

Nyanko: Wow, so bright!

Natori: Ah, so you two were here earlier than me~

Nyanko: He is oddly lively.

Natsume: Natori-san, did something happen?

Natori: Ah, nothing..I just thought about eating udon together with you.

Natsume: U…udon?

Natori: Udon.

Natsume: In that stall?

Natori: In that stall. 

Natsume: You sent me a paper doll and wrote “urgent” on it all for that. I thought something had happened and I was worried!

Natori: Ah, sorry sorry. Ah, that food stall over there sells very delicious food, it has been closed often recently but as I heard it's open now, I did it without noticing.

Natsume: "Without noticing"..I thought something had happened.

Natori: Would it have been better if something did happen?

Natsume: Uh no...but more like, it'd be good if it was someone else than me all the time too.

Natori: How cold~ But you’re my friend! Also....if it's with you, i wouldn't mind being caught in headlines-

Natsume: I REFUSE.

Nyanko: Hey, let's go in already.

Natsume: Ah, sensei! Hey!

Stall vendor: Welcome.

Natsume: Ah, it’s the first time for me, being in a bicycle towed stall like this. 

Natori: Back in the day, there was an old man who managed this stall by himself. 

Nyanko: Is there yakiudon? Yakiudon? Also hot sake.

Stall vendor: Uh, yakiudon?

Nyanko: This type. 

Stall vendor: Uh, um..

Natsume: Ah, sorry! It’s fine. Don’t speak! Sensei, you’re a cat!

Nyanko: He won’t see with this steam.

Natori: Yakiudon won’t cut it~ This is a kamaudon stall. See, there’s the menu. What about ebiten?

Nyanko: Ebiten~!

Natori: You eat it with a fresh onsen tamago and mix it with the dashi.*

*I was a bit unsure about this part, but he talks about the way how to eat the dish.

Nyanko: Onsen tamago! I’ll choose that! You two, choose quickly.

Natori: Natsume, what will you choose?

Natsume: Ah, um ... .what should I choose..It’s hard to choose..

Nyanko: Choose already.

Natsume: Let’s see..um, uh…

Nyanko: CHOOSE ALREADY!!

Natsume: Ah, this one with nebaneba toppings looks good. 

Natori: Ah, that one has wakame leaves, okra and grated yam on top of it…

Nyanko: Three ebiten udon! Hm, it’s because you two are slow. 

Stall vendor: Uh, if it’s wrong, it can be changed.

Natsume: Ah, then with the nebaneba toppings. 

Stall vendor: Alright. What about you?

Natori: I’m fine with no change in the order.

Stall vendor: Alright. 

Nyanko: It looks so good~

Natsume: Don’t peek that much. If you fall over, you will become tempura too.

Natori: That doesn’t seem that delicious..

Nyanko: What did you say? My tail is seen as one of the tastiest goods!

Natsume: I won’t be fooled.

Natori: You are getting along so well as always~

Natsume: Ah, by the way, why were you recommending a stall from here?

Natori: Ah, back in the day, I was often around this area because of the film shooting. The wind here is strong, so I was cold while waiting. I often came here and warmed myself up.

Natsume: Film shooting..You’re really a celebrity. 

Natori: Despite this, I do my work properly though.

Stall vendor: Here’s the one with the nebaneba toppings.

Natsume: Ah, it looks good!

Nyanko: Hm? Mine is not ready yet?

Natsume: Don’t be hasty and just wait properly.

Natori: It’s good to eat it while it’s hot and before it gets flat, so go ahead.

Natsume: Ah, but….

Nyanko: I can’t wait! Give me a taste!

Natsume: Ah, sensei!

Nyanko: Hmm! It’s good! This taste is too good for something made by a human. What if it’s made by a yokai?

Natsume: Hey, sensei! There’s no way it’s like that. Itadakimasu! It’s good!

Nyanko: Hm? What is it?

Natori: Are you alright?

Nyanko: I will look up. Hm? This is a jellyfish bone..?

Natori: What did you say!? A jellyfish bone? There’s no way that’s-

Nyanko: Alright, I’ll pull it out~!

Natsume: Ah, you’re right..but do jellyfish have bones..?

Natori: Natsume…jellyfish bones are probably something that only we can see. So that means..

Madara: This udon stall has a yokai that pretends to be a human.

Natsume: That’s…! Why are you saying that..! Sensei, go back!

Stall vendor: That appearance..! It’s…Madara!

Madara: See? He can see this form. There’s no doubt. Natori brat, did you know about this?

Natori: If I did, I wouldn’t have called you here! I'm even surprised..that he is a yokai..! This is very…unfortunate. 

Natori: Natsume, I'm sorry when you came all the way here. Please drink this purifying water and lay down. If there’s something else within you, it can purify you. 

Natsume: Natori-san..!

Natori: Don’t worry, I will exorcize him now.

Natsume: Exorcize him….that’s!!

Stall vendor: P-please wait! I’m! 

Natsume: Hey, Natori-san! Please wait! I’m fine! Exorcizing him for no reason, it’s too arbitrary!

Natori: Arbitrary? But he harmed you.

Natsume: “Harmed me”...He didn’t do anything to me!

Natori: Even something like a small jellyfish bone, can be life-threatening if left alone!

Natsume: It’s not inside me anymore, I drank the purifying water too! It’s alright..!

Natori: No. Even if you were fine, would you be sure that everyone who ate this after you would be fine too? No, there might be even people who already ate it..I can’t leave it like this!

Natsume: But..!

Natori: The old man was very proud of this store. If he couldn’t reproduce the taste perfectly, he would’ve closed this business with grace. I can’t be quiet and let a yokai ruin this store.

Natsume: Natori-san..!

Natori: Natsume, if it was fine with you, could you help me out? Please let this yokai go without suffering. Use this paper. It’s for sealing the yokai. 

Natsume: That's ... .but…but…

Natsume: He is trying to do something! Natori-san, I can’t seal something without a reason after all! I can’t seal it with paper like this…!

Natori: Natsume?

Natsume: Are you alright?

Natori: Natsume…you really are something..

Nyanko: Geez..his favoring of yokai is really troublesome.

Natsume: Why is a yokai like you having an udon stall?

Stall vendor: …I couldn’t forget it. About the old man…About the udon he made.. Yes…that was also a day with a cold wind like today..

Natsume: ..That form…! There’s scales..!

Stall vendor: I’m Sawaragi. I’m a low-class yokai who sleeps in this river and calling fish. I don’t have any more power or companions though. 

Natsume: Sawaragi..

Sawaragi: There was some construction work around here and the sun couldn’t shine to the river anymore. No matter how much I called them, the fish didn’t come out. My friends moved elsewhere, and right when I was about to move elsewhere too, that old man appeared. He pulled this old house that emitted dense white steam, there was a good smell and I noticed he was giving food. As I was watching him, I really wanted to eat that food too, so I disguised myself as a human and went to eat it with the money I found from the riverbed. But as I sat here, I had no idea what to do. Then the old man gave me udon without saying anything. Without a word, secretly… I must have looked like I was very hungry. As I finished eating and left the money, the old man laughed and told me to come again. I only noticed it later, but at that time, I had nowhere near enough money. Yet, he still laughed so happily…

Natsume: Now that I think of it, when I and sensei are eating, Touko-san is always laughing happily too..

Sawaragi: That was the first time I had ever eaten something that delicious. Since then, I found money from the riverbed, saved it and quietly ate here. 

Nyanko: The humans do have good food after all. 

Sawaragi: But after some time, the old man stopped coming here for some reason. At first he was here every day, then there was a one day absence, then three days’…and then, he left this stall here and disappeared. Suddenly no one came here anymore and the stall started slowly decaying. I was thinking about what to do, and then I remembered. That one day I was imitating the old man with a draining casket and string I found from the riverbed and he told me “You aren’t good~” while laughing…That’s why I thought that if I opened a stall like this, that he would come again and say the same thing again…

Natsume: Did you learn how to make udon?

Sawaragi: Yes. But no matter how much I tried my best in making the dashi, I couldn’t make it the same. 

Nyanko: So that’s why you used something like a jellyfish bone in the dashi. 

Sawaragi: I thought the taste was similar ... .even when I knew that it’d be a bad thing to do something like this..but I couldn’t forget that kind taste…

Natori: I’m sorry, but the old man is already..no matter how much you wait…

Sawaragi: When I knew how many people remembered the old man, I felt relieved. To be honest, disguising myself as a human is very tiring..I thought I should be resting soon too…If you are here, I feel like I can leave this place with no worry. 

Natsume: The stall…it’s disappearing with the wind…!

Sawaragi: Thank you, Natsume. I have heard about it. That there is a human who is kind towards yokai..Isn’t it you?

Natsume: Sawaragi..

Sawaragi: I wonder if I was able to prepare the same taste as the old man..?

Natsume: He disappeared..

Nyanko: That guy, he was working too hard while disguising as a human. He had no friends anymore either, so he must have felt very beaten up. 

Natsume: Hey, sensei.

Nyanko: Hm?

Natsume: If we didn’t notice that he was a yokai, would Sawaragi have been here and learned to make the same taste as the old man did..?

Nyanko: I wonder~

Natori: Natsume, I’m sorry for doing weird things like that. 

Natsume: It’s fine.

Natori: I did hear that the old man had passed away, but I had absolutely no idea that a yokai was working here. I really only wanted to eat the udon here with you. 

Natsume: I know that.

Natori: But that was good. If it was me, I would have probably only exorcized him and nothing else. You really are kind. 

Natsume: That’s…

Natori: The udon that the old man prepared was really delicious.. I really wanted to have you eat it.

Natsume: It was delicious…the udon I ate just now too.

Natori: Is that so?

Natsume: It was the best. 

Natori: I see. Oh, it’s this time already! I’m sorry Natsume, I actually have a film shooting after this.

Natsume: It’s fine. 

Natori: I will find another good store. This time, let’s eat together. 

Natsume: Yeah.

Nyanko: Hey, what will you do about my heightened desire for ebiten!

Natsume: Take care, Natori-san.

Natori: Thank you, Natsume!

Nyanko: Hey! Don’t sparkle! Ebiten! Ebiten! I want to eat ebiten! EBITEN!!!!

Applejack wiped the sweat from her brow. She set the hammer aside and groaned. Her hooves were sore from the day's chores and adding putting up a billboard on top of the list had been a bit more tiring than the middle-aged mare had expected.

Rainbow Dash wrapped a hoof around her wife and appraised her work. With a peck on the neck and a poke in the ribs she gave up a smirk of approval. "Not bad. Not bad. Nice work, hon."

"Heh" Applejack chuckled, rising to her hooves. "Eeyep."

Rainbow Dash joined in her knowing chuckle. "So, what made you finally decide to put it up?"

Applejack gave her partner's hoof a pat, looking over the bright yellow billboard. In white letters, trimmed it black it read "No Hate In Our Holler". She had wanted to be sure it would be in a highly visible place somewhere well-trafficked so she had chosen the Northeastern trail. Dubbed "The Naughty Nor-easter" for it's reputation as a place for young lovers to take romantic walks together, it was a long, broad dirt path which bordered their family orchard closest to Ponyville and facing New Canterlot.

"You 'n me, Dashie. We're, well, celebrities. We're heroes to a whole mess of folkes."

Rainbow Dash grinned, giving AJ a squeeze. "Well, yeah." Rainbow said matter-of-factly "We are pretty awesome."

Applejack's jade eyes trailed to the nearby field. Amid the waves of short green shoots and fluffy patches of clover, their little Filly, R.J. giggled and squealed. The tiny orange pegasus awkwardly stumbled about in circles, playing with the family dog, Winona and one of their family's two on-site security-hoofs, a Changeling they called Blue. Blue usually took the form of a grey-muzzled Blue-heeler hound, as she did now and could often be found by Winona's side. Blue seemed to have a certain fondness for the old border collie which Applejack only understood well enough to understand that she didn't understand.

"We've done a lot to make this world a better place. For all the young'uns. But for her? OUR little R.J.? Is it enough?" She gave her partner's hoof a concerned squeeze. "What if she grows up and falls for one of them Changelin' gals?"

Rainbow Dash's brow furrowed. "Well, we wouldn't care."

"Well of course, we wouldn't. Most folkes wouldn't. Still, there's some ponies out there with their noses in the air and sticks up their backsides who'd be awful to them. The same ones who'd be all rude to you'n me on accounts of us bein' what we are."

"A Pegasus and an Earth Pony?"

Applejack nodded, her nostrils flared and jaw clenched. "Yeahp. And that ain't right, Dashie. That ain't right and that ain't no way to treat a body. And if THAT's the legacy we're leaving for our little R.J. then, elements or not, what kind of mamas are we?"

"Yeah. You know, that last time we all went out to The Lavendar Saddle, Chryssi was telling me that in the Stormlands, some of those creepy jerks would actually even hate on us just for us both being mares?"

Applejack jerked around to glare at her wife in wide-eyed shock. "Say what?"

Rainbow Dash raised a wing, folding a few feathers like fingers in a promisory salute. "Swear to P.W."

"You gotta be kidding me. What kinda stone-age, bass-ackwards tom-foolery is that?"

"I know, right?" The pegasus ruffled her crest of chest fluff with a snort of disdain. "I mean, it's not ALL of them but enough that it's actually a problem for the rest of their kingdom."

"Well, I'll be…" Applejack shook her had and whistled. "I know that us ponies had a problem with that nonsense WAY back in the old days but… Coo-whee."

"Yeah." Rainbow's feathers ruffled, flush with Equestrian patriotism. "But that was, like a THOUSAND years ago, maybe. And even then it was just the stuffy old-money unicorn jerks from up in the richie-rich mountains.

Applejack nodded. "Well, anyhoof, this country that Twi and that bughorse wife a'hers are building, this 'New Equestria', it's gonna be a place for all critters to live together. Ponies 'n Pegasi, Unicorns 'n Yaks, Changelings, Lovebugs, Griffins, Kirins and… well, all folkes. Just a-living and a-loving, together. Nobody fightin'. Nobody feudin'. Nobody looking down on anybody. It's gonna take a lotta work but for our little R.J.? That's a place worth fightin' for, even for old gals like us."

"Hey, don't go calling my wife old, cowgirl." Rainbow mussed her wife's mane with the feather fingers of her wings. "That's the right way to catch these hoofs, you, get me?"

Applejack gave her partner a playful punch in the shoulder and gestured towards the sign. "I recollect an old gal, some of our kin- a loooong ways back, once saying something like "Whenever one pony stands up and says 'Wait a minute, this is wrong’ it helps other ponies do the same."

Rainbow Dash nodded, proudly draping her wings around her wife in a protective embrace. The two mares looked to the horizon as the sounds of their daughter's laughter echoed on the sweet summer breeze. "And who better to stand up and say it but the Sweet Apple Acres Elements of Harmony?"

What food do you miss the most since finding out you have a soy allergy? (I also got diagnosed with a soy allergy in the last couple of years and realizing just how much of what I loved eating was making me sick was pretty brutal)

Tofu, my beloved. Green curry with tofu. My sister made an *amazing* buffalo tofu, and what a way to go out.

This one's pathetic, but most protein bars. I know "foodier" food is better, but I miss having something easy and non-perishable that I could grab on short notice and not pass out, lol.

Eating out has been by far the hardest, especially eating out with other people. Burger buns. Any type pastry/dessert that's not a croissant or ice cream. Donuts. ;_; Anything with chocolate. My vegan friends and I can never eat at the same place. And some places just straight up have soy in everything.

I will say, though, that the thing I miss the most is my money. 😆 I'm fortunate to live where I can find a soy-free version of almost anything. But I have go to Whole Foods, or buy the $10 chocolate bar. I always liked Whole Foods because mainstream processed foods always made me feel off (and now I know why), but having it be mandatory after inflation really sucked.

I'm hoping that since my issue was a mild/moderate allergy PLUS gallstones, I can be less strict in the future. I know it's still not a good idea to eat things that make your throat and internal organs swell up. But I might be able to do restaurants on special occasions and not have it become a medical emergency. But either way, I'll still be an anti-incidental-soy-in-foods-that-don't-need-it crusader!

Anyway, bless Guittard for baking/chocolate chips! And I make homemade ramen with chicken broth or bone broth, dashi powder, and chili crisp. Eventually I'll try pum-fu (pumpkin seed based "tofu" which I've been told is pretty good.)

And speaking of chocolate, my local Whole Foods carries Milkboy brand, which is a very good soy-free milk chocolate. And Dr. Bronner's (yes, the soap people!!) make soy-free chocolate I'm obsessed with.

LOOK! Their chocolate looks like their soap!! (but it tastes a lot better, lol) The coconut praline is A+++.

octonauts drink headcanons

Captain barnacles loves hot chocolate, the thicker, the better. he also enjoys a good cold brew iced coffee on occassions

Kwazii cannot have coffee or any caffeinated drinks as he will get extremely hyper, he can only drink hot chocolate but will enjoy tropical fruit teas.

Peso drinks a ton of Mate, he has a special cup and straw that he drinks it from. he prefers his Mate cold, but will drink it hot if he's in the mood, preferably at night, with a blanket wrapped around him in the Med bay after everyone has gone to sleep.

Shellington likes store brand instant coffee. though now that he's not in college anymore, he started moving away from instant coffee sweetened by pixie stixs and mixed with energy drinks as the extra caffeine disrupts his sleep.

Tweak loves a good ol' fashioned cup of joe. no sugar, no cream, just straight up plain black coffee with a carrot stuck in it.

Dashi loves strawberry frappes, but she only drinks them when she is at a coffee shop. she will drink hot chocolate and has an entire pinterest board dedicated to hot chocolate recipes to try.

Professor Inkling likes English teas, and other black teas. he has a whole collection of different flavored teas from around the world.

the Vegimals: Do not under any circumstance give them coffee. they are hot chocoholics. they also once tried to make kelp hot chocolate without any success. they could also drink up to seven cups of hot chocolate a day if allowed.

This time I’ll just comment on each page.

This one isn’t so bad, in fact I personally think it’s funny because it’s a cameo of me abusing my powers as an artist.

I wasn’t sure what I was doing here, but I think they’re on their first date or something. I like to think that Dashi randomly asked Paani to go on a date with her because she wanted to get to know him more better.

I didn’t get to write out Dashi’s full feelings in this one, but when she was inner monologuing, she was actually just enjoying the moment and really happy that she got to see Paani get excited over the rain. Also she hasn’t seen or felt rain in months since she worked underwater.

The backup plan when Paani thought that Dashi didn’t like the rain. They do their skin and also got to learn of each other’s secret love languages.

More dates and also what they would’ve looked like in High school.

By far one of my favorite pages out of this series. It’s a bit of Journey to the West with the Macaque and the dragon dancer character (I’m bad with names), anyways it’s just an insert of Paani and Dashi because I can’t get out of my head that Paani is somehow inspired by the Monkey King because he’s a macaque and he kayaks with a paddle. That’s basically his staff. Anyways they’re cute and I don’t ship any characters in the journey to the west.

Last one, just a family thing, also Dashi with straight long hair is just very cute. Panini being in the picture is soooo adorable, she finally has a mum in this dimension! And also they live in Australia cuz they wanna raise Panini there and Paani changes his occupation to Limnologist so he can study inland where he can still be with his family.
