watched the first ep of Dead Boy Detectives today, did anyone also think the dialogue was a bit clunky?

I don't mean it was unwatchable or anything i just feel like it didn't feel realistic the way they introduced the characters and world... It felt like the dialogue was for the viewer instead of an in character thing. We were gonna be introduced to a viewer surrogate within the first few minutes, there was no need to have the characters who already know how the show's world works spell it out for nobody... and then explain it again when Crystal showed up? idk it felt like something I would write (not a complient) 😅

#the line ''we have to hide from death... or she'll get us'' was ridiculous #do you think the boy that's been escaping death since 1919 or whatever doesn't know?!#''we have to hide'' was enough the viewer can put 2 and 2 together and deduce it's bad if death sees them #to then minnutes later have them explain to crystal why they have to hide from death again...#just let the characters adress the camera if you wanna spell it out so easily #or you know... trust that the viewer is intelligent enough to wait 2 minutes for an explanation?#it was mostly just that first few mins of the first ep i think #i didn't pick up on anything else that trully bothered me #but idk it felt condecending dkjfghkdfg or simply badly written #which it was a bit of a let down to have it as a very first impression #i guess i went in thinking sandman and got like idk generic teen show #in the dialogue alone btw i actually really like the characters and the premise is awesome!#it just cuaght me by surprise #maybe it because i'm also watching fallout and the dialogue on that is like very well done and everything is a hint for something later #so i'm comparing it idk #anyways... is it just me? or was it actually clunky?#(don't spoil it past ep 1 pls)#angel talks #dead boy detectives #really liking it so far tho!

#x men 97 #x men storm #I knew all the way back when it was revealed that pt 1 of Lifedeath was getting reduced for the sake of a Mojo ep #that Storm was getting done dirty #but this is just crazy #they showed us a fraction of how powerful she was in Lifedeath pt 2 #only to have her get knocked out the sky #then show her at Bastion's mercy as if she can't just zap him right there cuz she tied up #jean and mags both get moments to show off their power #Storm gets to struggle to lift up a space rock with Jean #and now Storm doesn't even show up again in a future/past timeline #what in the fuck #and don't talk to me bout no Logan and Morph!#those two have been getting all the little moments this season and constant screentime #Storm got a halfassed attempt at a Lifedeath adaption #and then back to the same old same old with her playing the part of everyone's Mammy #she gets to be team leader once and only gives out an order once!!!#can't even have her be the one to pull a Steven Universe on Bastion despite setting it up last episode!!!!!!!#storm deserved better

i couldve gone to sleep 3 hours ago but i decided to stay up and personally download/screenshot every single marceline outfit ever so i could make a tier list. heres the link

#so we got 9 that are my all time favorites #TWENTY FOUR that are good (i broke that tier in two)#15 that i cant find anything to say other than ''yeah thats an outfit for sure''#5 that could be better. which means either 1-its kinda ugly but fixable (princess day and the green suit one)#2-its a bit boring like i feel they couldve done something better w it considering its an important ep (seventeen and come along with me)#3-look the obsidian jumpsuit wouldve been ok if it was just like. for the scenes in the motorcycle or something like that makes sense. but #not for the entire episode!!! its kinda ugly why did they just keep her in it!!! bubblegum got to change #it works ok for some scenes but they couldve let her change into something else for the rest of the ep #and 5 that are just ugly. theyre just not it. ive tried to like them but i cannot #adventure time #marceline abadeer #the rows are sorted from best to less favorite/worse except from the whatever one

i'm watching season 8 of dexter for the first time and i'm only on episode 2 but i'm glad they're finally tackling the whole "dexter is a psychopath and psychopaths don't have empathy" thing by acknowledging that this dude does in fact have empathy i hope to god they come to the logical conclusion
