he cried like a child — out of grief as well as letting go of years of bottled up pain and suffering. what gets me the most is how he just.. crumbles in that scene. throughout the drama, we've seen him be so put together and strong no matter what happens. even if there were moments where his armour cracked and he let his guard down a little, this is the first time we see him cry, full on. he didn't try to stop the tears, he let them flow. for me, this counts as both his catharsis and character development— allowing his vulnerable side to show. no longer suppressing his own feelings. letting himself receive the comfort he always needed.

It was unnecessarily irritating. And frankly really, really fucked up.

Anytime you turned your back from a seemingly butterfly-inducing interaction with Logan, you found him all over Jean as if he wasn’t just chatting you up four minutes ago.

Jean Grey was—from what you’ve surveyed over your time at the mansion—not really phased, despite her somewhat established relationship with Scott. She was intelligent and good-natured, flashing you sickeningly sweet smiles in the corridors and occasionally complimenting your outfits as if hers weren’t twice as stunning.

But every time you spotted Logan gazing down at her with the look you thought he’d reserved for your eyes only, the image of perfection the redheaded telepath had materialised in front of you dissipated like a glass of ice left to liquefy under the scorching sun.

Because she never pushed him away, and she was so clearly inevitably attracted, whether she displayed it or not. It was virtually written all across her sharp features, and you knew the same was scripted all over your own when speaking to Logan.

That dip your heart made every time you saw the two’s chemistry from afar; it wasn't just blatant jealousy. 

It was deeper.

It was nastier.

It clung to your insides like a weight you couldn't possibly shake off. The constant sense that you were just a swift distraction, a momentary diversion from the real object of his desire. 

It ate you up from the inside out and exhausted you to no end.

When Storm or Rogue cautiously approached you and tried to console you, you shrugged it off as if it was some uncomplicated highschool sweetheart drama. They knew damn well it wasn’t. Your conflicting feelings for Logan were gradually making you lose yourself— your well-built dignity. You were slowly but surely morphing into someone you didn’t even recognise. Someone who accepted being second best without any contemplation.

All for a man who was immortal. All for someone who presumably considered you a fleeting paragraph in his primitive life while he was an entire novel in yours.

You wanted— needed to locate yourself in the vast body of water which was your feelings. You needed your sense of self-worth to reappear by a miracle, nevertheless, you knew it would take immense time and exertion to track it back down.

But in a wretched attempt to do so, you settled on a fairly elaborate plan and started disregarding each one of Logan’s advances. Suddenly, you conveniently had somewhere else to be every time he approached, you pulled back and overlooked his easy smiles along with the playful banter you practically used to feed off of.

At first, it felt as if you were reclaiming some of your power, spotting his perplexed looks in your peripheral vision as you wandered off to God knows where. But of course, everything you did came back to bite you in the ass. If anything, it only made the truth clearer. He barely even noticed, and if he did, he didn’t give a single shit.

And Jean? She remained unbothered, untouchable— flawless, even. You were the mastermind of this whole game, yet you were the only one losing.

After a particularly humiliating stretch of witnessing Logan and Jean’s shared giggles and stolen looks from across the table, you ultimately found your resolve. Alcohol really was liquid courage, because after a few drinks and several stabs of food, you closed in on them lounging on the couch post-meal. 

Logan’s bare arm was extended across the back of the grimy cushions behind Jean like some kind of cheesy rom-com, cowlicks a prominent silhouette against the weak flickering of the television. But no matter how much you resented them— her, you would never even come by the opportunity to be in the redhead’s position.

“Howlett,” you enunciated, voice sharp enough to slice through the ambient noise like a shard of glass.

Howlett. No other soul could call him that without repercussions. Aside from you. That was why you felt so unique, so distinct from the others, that was the crumb of specialty you were desperately clinging on to.

He shifts to glance over his shoulder, a spark of recognition igniting within him at the sound of your voice—not missing the shred of urgency concealed beneath it. “Hm? What's up?”

You hesitate with your next words, intently but subtly taking in his scruffy features in the dimmed lighting for what felt like it could be the final time. Because after this, you knew for a fact neither one of you could view each other in the same way. You were the one who let him under your skin, you were the one who had to tear him out, and it unfortunately was an agonisingly slow process.

“We need to talk.”

Four words. Yet, it still gave you the sensation of several weights placed upon your back; the unavoidable impending argument, manipulation spat right into your face, and the most dreaded of all, how circumstances would be after tonight.

His expression stiffened mildly as he reluctantly got up from the couch, aged leather groaning beneath his weight. The sensation of Jean abruptly invading the back of your mind was extremely unsettling and even though she appeared unphased, she, without a question, detected your abnormal uneasiness and was gingerly flicking through your thoughts.

Which was apprehensive, to say the least.

Logan fell into step with you as you departed from one of the many doddering living rooms, proceeding to a more secluded space nearing the obnoxious stairs in front of the grand entryway, mansion almost bizarrely silent with all the kids asleep. Jean wasn’t in your head anymore, but she undoubtedly already knew your objectives to the script.

You halted and so did Logan, weight finding its position set upon the auburn wood of the stairs. 

He eyed you with undivided attention. Your stomach threatened to do a fucking flip despite the conditions, the look nearly making you scrap all of this and go right back to being his side piece regardless of the anguish it put your mind through. But you dug your heels in, the clearing of your throat echoing sharply off the vacant walls.

You square your shoulders and tilt your chin up boldly, aiming to stand your ground. “What the hell am I to you? Because from what I see and a whole lot of other people do, I’m just an afterthought. Filler for the gaps Jean left open. Care to elaborate on that, Howlett?” 

He sighed, glancing at the wall behind you as if he was already fed up. “It’s not like that, bub. You’re makin’ it bigger than it is.”

Your blood scorched at the casual dismissal. Your voice inevitably rose but doesn’t go over a whisper, “Don’t patronise me, Logan,” you scoff. “I’m not some stupid kid with a stupid crush, so don’t let your ego get out of hand. I’ve watched you get all up on her, and then come to me when she’s got a class. Do you even fucking hear yourself?” 

His jaw stiffened, his own frustration growing. “You really think it’s that easy? I never asked you to get involved. You know how it is with me and her. You don’t get how fucked my life is, it’s your own fuckin’ fault things got messy.”

“Yeah, yeah. Go sulk somewhere else, I don’t give a shit how crappy your life is. It doesn’t take much to be a decent fucking human!— mutant, whatever. I’m not gonna let you come crying to me when things don’t work out with Jean. I’m worth more than that. You can’t see that, it’s your damn problem, not mine.”

He was visibly trying to find his footing, and you took it as an opportunity to carry on, “It’s not my fault this got sloppy. You can’t just invite a woman for a nice drive and end up throwing her out the door a moment later. You knew damn well what you were doing to m—” 

“You don’t know what I gotta deal with every day. It’s difficult. I never wanted it to get like this. You were the one overthinkin’ it.”

You shook your head forcefully, exasperation boiling over. “I don’t give a fuck, Logan— stop hiding behind that, you don’t even remember half of your damn life! It’s not messy, it’s cruel. I’ve had my own trouble, but I don’t use it as an excuse to hurt people who care about me. Don’t put all of it on my back.”

He opens his mouth to retort, but you cut him off. “Don’t. Don’t say anything. I’ve dealt with you for half my time here. I’ve had enough of your bullshit.” A flash of remorse graced his eyes but it didn’t do a thing. 

“I’m not your backup plan. I’m not waiting for you to look at me the way you look at Jean. I deserve someone who doesn’t just act like they give a shit. I’ve made my choice and you’ve made yours. I’m done. Goodnight, Howlett.”

With a harsh turn of your heel, you walked away with a heavy heart. But your head was clear for the first time in months, your shoulders were lighter, and the clarity you felt nearly blew your veins out. It would be painstakingly tough to face him tomorrow morning, but you knew you would get over it eventually.

Also i just realised in the morning Washing Machine Heart works WAYYy better but it's whatever I guess 😮‍💨

Hello there! Totally random but I've been watching Dawson's Creek and had a hot take and needed to share, and you have some of the best hot takes about these shows so I'd though I'd bother you with it lol sorry.

Granted, I haven't finished the show yet, I've seen til the season 3 finale, so this might be proven wrong by later seasons, but I've been thinking this for 3 seasons straight - Is it just me or is it completely and visibly Gail and Mitch's fault Dawson is Like That? Like, yeah, there are a lot of scenes of just Dawson complaining about his parents' relationship, but honestly? He's kind of justified! Their relationship is a mess, and they always put their son in the middle, and the drama was so needless and repetitive that by their S3 wedding they were even more boring a relationship than Dawson and Joey. And whenever he tries to bring it up with them, it's framed like he's just in the way of them being happy (whether that means being together or apart, whichever they're feeling like that week). It's not really any wonder that he has such a messed up relationship with Joey, because watching his parents, sure, why wouldn't he think he can treat her any way he wants and she'll still want him and they'll be "meant to be"? Works for Mitch and Gail! Not to mention, all their parenting consists of is telling him what a special and perfect boy he is (correct me if I'm wrong but I think the only time they "discipline" him is having him work at their family restaurant?). Once again, no wonder he gets such a protagonist complex and thinks he should always get his way and whines when he doesn't.

Dam, this show is just a mess... Every character either starts great and is completely assassinated or forgotten about (Joey, Andie, Jen, ...) or starts badly and is given a redemption arc bc the writers realized the actor can act (Pacey, Jack) or is barely even a character, just a plot device at the whims of the writers (Dawson). Anyways, this is all just because I've heard for years before watching the show about how Dawson is the worst and actually watching the show has me thinking Mitch and Gail might really be the worst. Sorry for the rant! But I needed to share this with someone. What do you think? Am I totally off base here or does this actually make sense?

My hot take is that Dawson is not the antichrist as most of the fandom tried to paint him. Is he annoying and whiny? Sure, but what teenager isn't. Now that I think about it, maybe the reason the fandom hates him so much is because they see themselves in him and they don't like it? Just a thought.

You are so right about his parents though! People like to say: "Dawson has nothing to complain about, all other characters have it worse". Sure, Dawson's parents are not dead (at the beginning), in jail, physically abusive, mentally ill or didn't ship him off to live with his grandma, but that doesn't mean they are perfect. They put him in the middle of their messed up marriage and fighting. No 15-year-old should know about their parents' sex life and that his mother is having an affair. I also think they were too chill and let him get away with too much, like you said. But that's in almost every American show. I can't imagine talking to my parents the way teenagers on tv talk to theirs, that's not just a Dawson thing. It might have something to do with how the actor plays Dawson perhaps?

As for the character assassinations, I feel like the problem is that the writers mold the characters to whatever they need in the moment rather than having consistent characterization and letting conflict naturally arise from that. That's why the characters contradict each other a lot and seem to change so much (I still maintain that Andie cheating on Pacey was completely ooc). Also what bothers me is that the writers rewrite history a lot in order to be able to recycle old plot lines. The best example of this is how Pacey underwent such a great character development while he was with Andie only for it to be erased so he can undergo it again with Joey. When he told Joey: "I have never gotten an A before" I rolled my eyes because he literally had the same storyline with Andie like two seasons before! It's like in season 2 the writers wanted us to root for Pacey and Andie, but in season 3 and 4 they changed their minds so they ruined Andie's character to make room for Pacey and Joey. But then in season 5 they decided: "scratch that, Joey and Dawson it is" so they erased all Pacey's development again and had Joey pine for Dawson again.

A bit off topic but I thought it related to what you said about the characters. I don't think Dawson is the worst. He was annoying but I feel like he got progressively less and less annoying as the show went on. Joey is a different story. I could rant more about that but it's a very unpopular opinion since everyone on here loves Joey.

ANYWAYS so I have just finished reading part two and three of honey and bestie IM OBSESSED!!! FOAMING AT THE MOUTH FOR CEORRY!! I need him badly like idc when will it be me?!? Anyways LOVED seeing jealous Harry it’s so hilarious when it’s with Niall like I love their banter! But ngl I love seeing Harry spiral over another guy 🤭 but also fuck the guy the MC went on a date with bc that’s so not cool!!! Also the MC is just so perfect like she so good with Cece my heart hurts from how cute it is! Now that little dream that Harry had was WILD and I didn’t expect that lol AHH loved part two!

Now part three omg! The drama of it all omg! LOVED IT! The fact that they ended in the hospital and the way Harry talked to her… she’s braver than me bc I would absolutely start crying! And then I would just be so angry bc I’m stubborn and will simply not let a man talk to me like that 😁 BUT this is ceorry so he gets a pass bc i need him badly🙄 plus I would be terrified if my child was in that position! But omg don’t get me started on her catching him basically looking so lovesick and gone for her 😭 Anyways ugh omg she’s just so perfect omg and I kinda loved that Harry was missing her a bit when she was away! Grocery shopping is a personal hell sometimes lol I guess the best way to describe it is that it can get a bit overwhelming/overstimulating depending on how crowded and the overall vibe of the store I’m in. Some days I can handle it better than others lol I’m sure everyone was so over being stuck inside during Covid so I don’t blame lol I actually prefer doing dishes but I do agree baking is definitely preferred than cooking!

I never was classified as “gifted” through exams bc I literally have terrible test anxiety that I don’t do well lol BUT I was definitely always considered a higher performing student even though test like that didn’t technically show it. And bestie you’re so smart like you don’t even know!!!(Also I have beef with standardized test like that but tbh that’s a whole other topic lol) but knowing how much of a hard worker you are it makes sense that you’re sadly going through some sort of burn out. I’ve realized it happens more often and sometimes it’s really hard to get out of. Lowkey I’ve been so burned out since I was like 18 ish and have been just trying to barely function lol. So I can totally get how frustrating all of this may feel!

I can assure you that people do care about what you write! And I’m being honest when I say if you ever choose to publish whether it be through self publishing or traditional, you absolutely have the potential to succeed in that! Bestie I swear the stories that you put out already exceed works that are already published! And you’ve mentioned how you want to indulge in longer stories(I support it!) so I feel like if you find a story line you like or even revamping a current one you’ll be amazing! I love an overprotective man 😍 one of my favorite tropes. "Touch her and die" = me swooning. YES. Idk I thought the dream was cute hehehe

I WOULD HAVE SOBBED. My alternate timeline for this story would be that one scene and she just has a full blown sob-fest and begs Harry to keep her job and then he feels like an ASS and probably asks her to marry him right there (and then Honey is done half way through part 3) HAHAHAHA He's so lovesick, so gone. YES I do LOVE a grumpy male lead, but as a stubborn female STEM student, I think she has WAY more cause to be grumpy than him. I haven't hinted at many of the future ones, but def one of them. Probs been like six months though. Hopefully it'll make sense when it comes around hehehe

NO grocery shopping is absolutely overwhelming. I'm just INSANE. In New England we have Market Basket and if you haven't been there good for you. Best grocery prices in the world but there are SO many people there all the time and someone is ALWAYS in my way. Doesn't matter what time of day. If I didn't want to save $ i wouldn't go.

Test anxiety is the worst! I watch so many of my students struggle with it. I got nervous over some tests but I was fortunate that I didn't get too overwhelmed (shocking, tbh, something had to give I guess). I'm always trying to think of strategies to help my students with it. I also did a whole research proposal on math/test anxiety in grad school. The "experts" recommend journaling before an exam (but you gotta be kind to yourself and manifest that you'll do well) which was NOT for me because I was like "I'm confident" i'm not going to do well. My AP Bio tests?! Holy cow. DAMN. Those were a bitch.

Not to sound like 100 years old, but when I was in college I remember by the time I was in grad school I was like "holy shit this is endless" I was exhausted. No reading, no writing. Nothing. It was just endless school assignments and work. BUT now I have TIME to do things I like so I actually think my burn out is entirely 'better' than the one I had in college. Not sure if that's hopeful for you or not.

Hi hi! :D Whenever I get ask about favorite dramas my perspective always seems to change as time goes by tbh! Merlin Interrupted ok so i explained this wip in another ask but the short version is my OC, Nessa, has entered the playing field (Camelot/Albion) and shakes up the show's plot so much that now we got an early magic reveal, more intel on Morgana's descent, and a new antagonist

Things Dr. Geyer Notices as i'm sure you've noted, i've been sort of venting about this fic bc i was originally intending (i swear, truly) for this fic to be a cute one-shot where over the span of season 4-6, David Geyer (Liam's stepdad) would begin to pick up on the crazy supernatural shit going on. HOW-EVER, i am 3 chapters deep (6.5k words) and only halfway through with this story. *sighs* i am enjoying the fic tho. am i taking creative liberties by inventing my own love story/dynamic with David and Jenna? absolutely! and you would too for the sake of giving Liam the best parents ever. tbh i have more of the 2nd half of this fic imagined than the 1st half (which was why i assumed it would be shorter lol who'da thought?). very excited for when i get to the Wild Hunt 😈

The Heirloom ok, uh, this one is my niche little Lockwood & Co x Teen Wolf (sort of but not really) x OC wip. essentially, Lockwood & Co, a ghost hunting agency run by teens (and teens only. it makes sense in universe i promise) are hired by Nick Bennet (an OC i have for #9 and as you'll notice, i tend to recycle him and another OC for other wips) to find the source of his father-in-law's ghost so that the house/flat that belonged to his late wife. it takes place some time in book 3 of Lockwood & Co because I wanted Holly included but also the drama of Lucy Carlyle's Talent issues (sixth sense thing only children and teens gain to see/hear ghosts). AND, i have Theo there who was adopted by Nick (this will make more sense after i explain #10) who shares the same Talent as Lucy (Hearing) and helps out our lovely band of ruffians. however, as the gang continue to explore the house and its history, they find there's more that meets the eye. news articles are inconsistent about the life the late Lucy Bennet once lived and the relationship her had with her father. both Nick and Theo are partial to this necklace that once belonged to her, but they deny it having any connection to the house and its hauntings.

The Witch & the Knight so this one is an og wip! what i've got so far is a alternate historical fantasy taking place in medieval France. premise is there's this celestial war (angels vs demons, a classic) headed by a Grim Reaper with their trusty gang that consists of a knight in shining armor and 2 witch sisters (one eager to fight the fight and the other trying to pull said eager sister away from the fight). this wip is heavy in its themes, historical research, mythological research, worldbuilding....just, a very ambitious story. i am using it for my final project in my english course bc it gives me the excuse to work on it, and flesh out more of my ideas and concepts. (the big one i'm currently fleshing out is the doomed romance subplot) i have no intention of having this story be 1 novel. it's a series. i can feel it. the war itself in story will be 10 years and the slow burn both for platonic and romantic relationships is super fucking slow. i've written a couple snippets for this wip, but mostly, i'm still in the plotting and planning stage.

A Lucky Network tis me batfam wip! it's a epistolary fic and jumps between outsider pov to simple 3rd pov and 2nd pov. it's got mystery, unreliable narrators, and all that jazz. i've got like 80% if this thing finished just the finale part is all i have left. You have the fic's plot focus on 2 people, Nick and Lucy. Nick is our main pov guy (after Dick) who sort of is in the know about something involving Lucy, but we don't know why. Lucy is our center for all of this chaos. she's why Dick began this investigation into her actions. in the fic, she was taken in by Bruce about 3 or so years after Dick, lived through his angsty teen years, lived with baby jason, had to live with his death, and then have her own angsty arc. there is like 1 batfam ship in the fic, so if that's not your cup of tea, totally fine! but i have lowkey forgotten to update it on ao3 consistently lol. i'll be sure to get back on that.

Basically Mob Boss Lucy this is an og wip but taking a similar premise with #5, recycling my main 2 OCs from there (Nick & Lucy bc they're a packaged deal and married), and placing them in a Mob Boss setting. Lucy in this wip is not adopted by a kind and compassionate but is also emotionally constipated man; rather she gets taken in by some douche who saw her on the street and thought "this would get me so much charity points with the media!" anyway, her life in this story is a lot different with #5 (for one, she's a lot colder and harsher when it comes to treating others that aren't in her inner circle and she's much more sadistic) but i love writing this wip bc i'm getting tired of redemption arcs. i wanna see a girl go batshit and fall into her corruption arc.

The Emrys Shrine greatly inspired by this ask here ok, listen: i know the fic i have for this says complete, but i do have a continuation in the works!!! it's in percival's pov and it's basically just him going "hmmmmm Merlin's acting pretty suspicious......"

Witch Boy OK LISTEN: i know this one also complete when you go to Ao3, but that's just because the 3rd part is being fucking slOW, so i said "fuck it ends nice at ch2 anyway," but i do want to add more. but yeah, to summarize: fic was inspired by a Halloween fanart i saw and i just ran with it.

A BBC Merlin Military AU Nobody Asked For so i also already explained this one in another ask but basically it's semi-modern au with bbc merlin cast in the military. which military??? idk it's not important. what's important is that there's pining and hurt/comfort

Lucky's Timeline in Beacon Hills this one....yeah, this is super self indulgent. literally recycling Nick and Lucy (Lucky is their ship name bc i do do that with my OCs and there's is super cute) and throwing them into the Teen Wolf universe, and seeing how they'd fare in that world. what i've got it like 5 different storylines i could take with this wip, but the main consensus is: Lucy adopts Theo, Nick sort of adopts the Puppy Pack bc he decided a coach was the safest job he could apply for and the school didn't ask him a lot of questions (he definitely raised his brows at that) for this wip, Nick and Lucy originally came from my Lucky Network-verse (but like slightly to the left, meaning she wasn't adopted by Bruce in this verse, meaning i get to play with her being a tad more sadistic) and ended up in Beacon Hills bc teleportation magic run to its extreme can teleport you across dimensions!! who'da known!

okay imma answer my own question bc i love sharing my thoughts.

so i'm certain that there was episodes of play of the week before season 1, because at the beginning of the spirit of christmas, chris says "welcome BACK to play of the week". every single episode of season 1 starts this way as well, which is relevant when you remember that spirit of christmas was not initially the first episode, and was planned to go last. so no matter what, there were other episodes that came before season 1. additionally, harper's locket makes reference to doing more horse, another episode of play of the week, the previous week (which doesn't make sense given the order they were released in, since the previous week was the lodge. i'm not sure what order season 1 was planned to be released in but this is why i think harper's locket was supposed to be first). whatever you think about the timeline of when more horse fits in, it does prove that there are other episodes that came before season 1. i don't know how many episodes this would have been (presumably not too many, just because of budget reasons) but i would guess maybe 3-4 before spirit of christmas? given that spirit of christmas aired 23 december 2019, i'd guess that play of the week started in late november or early december. i feel like this also adds up with what's said at the start of the lodge, about their previous halloween season (texas chainsaw massager and nightwear on elm street), as i don't believe these are part of play of the week, just cornley's previous productions. assuming these happened in october (maybe late september), play of the week starting in november/december lines up with that finishing.

now the question becomes whether there were other episodes in between 90 degrees and the nativity, between the nativity and summer once again, and after the cornley drama festival. after 90 degrees, i think the biggest factor is covid, as we know this exists in the cornley universe. if they did any other episodes afterwards, it only would have been until march (the first lockdown), so only about three more episodes, if that. however, i think it's reasonable to assume they possibly didn't do anymore, given that chris was arrested at the end of 90 degrees — they probably had some mess to clean up. i don't think cornley did anything during most of 2020. they did zoom goes wrong in october, the bbc children in need sketch in november, and in december (just before the nativity) they did the see it safely guide. given this, i don't feel like there were any episodes in between 90 degrees and the nativity. additionally, at the beginning of the nativity, chris doesn't say "welcome back", instead saying "welcome to this festive edition of play of the week", so i think that fits with real life with that being a stand-alone christmas special.

between the nativity and summer once again i don't think there were any episodes either, for several reasons. the main one is the fact that it's a plot point that robert was able to launch the coup due to the bad ratings of the nativity, which to me implies that it was their latest episode before summer once again. robert also doesn't say "welcome back" for this episode, just saying "welcome to play of the week", which gives me the vibe that he's trying to make it into a fresh start for the show, which would be strange if they'd been on recently. plus, given that in the nativity they've lost bbc funding, i'm guessing they spent a bit of time trying to get themselves back on the screen, and given the scale of season 2, back into getting funded by the bbc (plus robert presumably needed a bit of time to organise the coup). and finally, covid would once again be an issue, with the nativity happening pretty much smack bang in the middle of two lockdowns, and restrictions not fully lifting until around july (summer once again is september, and rehearsals for summer once again canonically was at least a full week, probably more, so between everything that was happening, they probably didn't have any other episodes before that.

finally, post-season 2, and honestly i won't decide my opinion on this until it's confirmed whether there will be a season 3 of the goes wrong show or not (i suspect there won't be, but you never know). assuming there won't be, i think it's certainly possible! they probably took some time off after the drama festival (given 7 out of 9 of them ended up in hospital) but i think after they all recovered, it's up to people's interpretation whether they kept going with play of the week, or if they started a new show, or whatever!

so, tldr:

there were almost certainly episodes of play of the week before season 1, my guess is around 3-4, starting from late november/early december 2019

probably no episodes in between 90 degrees and the nativity due to covid, but there was the zoom goes wrong, the bbc children in need sketch, and the see it safely guide in october-december 2020.

probably no episodes in between the nativity and summer once again due to covid, the lack of bbc funding, and the coup.

as of right now, episodes after season 2 are possible, but this could change depending on whether there is a season 3.

DO IT!!! You should start out by doing the scenarios and characters you love/feel like doing most!

As embarrassing as it is, I actually started writing on Wattpad like many other creators. They were your average x readers and had the really stupid unfunny quirky humor. Once I found out Tumblr was basically oneshots galore, I quickly migrated here and started reading.

You should set up rules, fandoms, and characters post if you really wanna start.

If there were anything I'd highly suggest for you to do, I'd say to make sure your writing is actually good or at least decent.

Now I'm not saying that to demotivate you or devalue you as a future creator and writer. No no that's not it at all! All on saying is that people like to read good sensible stories.

Grammar, wording, phrasing, separation of paragraphs, vocabulary, etc all come into play when you write. Personally, I enjoy it when a writer can understand common grammar and things as such.

I've made a random post saying this before, but I'll say it again. Personally, I am not a fan when writers have a typing style when it comes to fics.

Things like, " Walking down the hall , I looked to my left . "

"Is that so? Well then,I must have to accept your offer. There shouldn't be any complications on the way,no?"

My brain just can't handle the fact that it's so squished together and incorrect. I'm no stickler for grammar rules, bc trust me, I've had my fair share of bad writing. But this? Nah it's gotta go-

Vocabulary is important! Things like HCs dont really need a large range of words due to the fact they're just short ideas compacted into one post. But with general writing, it's much different. Many people don't mind stories with common language, but expanding your palette makes your story far more expressive and emotional.

Whatever you do, always make sure that your world building makes sense. Everything ties into each other! Making these connections may clear up questions the reader may have after and during the story. They also can have a role with the characters and events later on.

Though that doesn't mean to just lay out the rules in front of the reader. When the time comes to mention it, do it in the most efficient way possible.

Pacing!!! Slow burn is fun, but scanning through the exposition and getting to the good part is such a waste. Though, going too slow is gonna bore the reader.

RIIIIDEEEE OUT THE RISING ACTION AND CONFLICT. People love it when the juiciest part gets the attention it deserves! Though, know that the drama always has to die down sooner or later (The aftermath of the conflict can also be just as exciting)

You can spend your time with your story if it's long, just don't spend too much time on sub plots and irrelevant things when writing! Unless its vital to the plot, then I wouldn't suggest it.

Most importantly, don't exert yourself! Being a creator is difficult. This will feel much more like a chore or a long hour job the more requests you get.

But don't let that stop you from doing it! I'm glad I have my platform and love the people who like it! If I hadn't started, I think I'd be very bored and even lonelier.

I love being able to draw and write and have people to enjoy it with!

All this info basically goes into drawing but more artsy.

Don't be afraid to develop your artstyle and ask for criticism if you want.. :)

Current Predicaments

(As of September 26) oof it’s been a while since I updated this one

I say predicaments because—well—you know those authors that can write one story at a time? I am not one of them. The muses are in a constant fight over which fic ideas will get the brain's attention. Think like in sleeping beauty with the fairies constantly going 'pink! no, blue! Pink! BLUE!!' and the third fairy is just trying to keep the cake from collapsing... except instead of just two colors they're fighting over an ever-increasing number of WIPs.

Fandom(s) author is writing fic for:

....so i recently dove headfirst into a new fandom by reading approximately 120 manhwa chapters in about three days, and then proceeded to go back and start reading the novel said manhwa was based off from the beginning. i'm currently stalled at chapter uh,,,200-ish out of 550. This is mostly because the combination of consuming new content and not having writing deadlines apparently sent the muses feral.

i've started eight new WIPs in the past two months (assuming i haven't forgotten anything) and that's not counting the two animatic ideas (which are progressing very slowly because i have no clue what i'm doing but i'm having fun so i might actually finish them someday)

oh! yeah, that new fandom is Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint. I will probably be in ORV-only mode creation-wise until the muses calm down which...probably won't happen until i actually finish the novel.

Recent WIPs that have been worked on:

1) ORV- 4th wall break angst, also fun with 10th scenario drama bc i am the kind of writer who enjoys bending canon to their will

2) ORV- YJH and KDJ ride a motorcycle. KDJ is tired and YJH is having Emotions. that's it that's the fic

3) ORV- epilogue angst (v1): angst here is focused on KDJ not being recognized by the fam

4) ORV- epilogue angst (v2): angst here meaning KDJ wakes up after The End and can't find any of the fam. ...saying he's not doing well in this fic is a severe understatement

yes i have two post- epilogue ideas no i do not know anything about the actual canon epilogue but i'm writing them anyway

5) ORV- YJH gets turned into a raven; chaos ensues

6) ORV- another animal transformation but this time YJH gets transformed in the middle of a battle and suddenly having cat-senses (including balance) is not the kind of thing that goes smoothly when you're suddenly surrounded by too much of everything. this one's mostly focused on hurt/comfort

7) ORV- breadmaker; i had a random idea of an OC who survives the apocalypse by baking bread. they are widely known for being a source of delicious bread and if people try to attack them those attackers tend to get run off by a mob of angry incarnations

8) ORVxKHR- the apocalypse seems like a great cause of lots of people awakening Dying Will Flames; also KDJ and YJH are bonded Skies

...turns out i did forget one oops

9) ORV- loop fic, more fun with 10th scenario angst. how to say this without spoilers.... so The Amulet stuff still happens but i decided to make it worse by creating a reset loop that triggers when a character dies. KDJ is trying to stop the loops but he can only remember the loop immediately prior to the current one

A note: me working on these things does not guarantee that anything will be posted/updated in the near future, it's just a general idea of what I've been focused on.

Everyone asks who's red and what is his connection to liz because they think he's her father or whatever other gross familial relation they suspect, but I honestly wonder who is her mother? And I do not think it is red. Yes the writers have written things in that would make sense, but they did that with red being "her father" as well. I think there's a greater explanation to what liz saw at the end of season 8. Don't you? I'm not buying the redarina thing or whatever.

No, I absolutely do not buy the R*darina thing either, simply bc it doesn't check out with literally any other detail from previously established canon or mythology, not to mention literally any characterization over the course of 8 seasons. NOTE: There's absolutely nothing wrong with transgender people & characters of course, I'm simply speaking to my opinion on this isolated example in this individual TV show, bc it doesn't track with the character, that's all!!

I will say that - if I was even mildly interested in watching season 9 WHICH I'M NOT - I do believe they would probably eventually turn around that R*darina "reveal" (which didn't actually explicitly reveal anything btw) just as they've done so many times in the past, i.e. the fake DNA test & f*ther "reveal", the Alexander Kirk father "reveal", & the Katarina mother "reveal". They just love doing that shit. They've always managed to confuse Interesting Plot Twist with Cheap Shock Value, Misdirecting Your Audience with Lying To Your Audience, AND Being Cleverly Unpredictable with Refusing To Commit To A Coherent Storyline. BUT, at the same time, anon, I could also see them saying absolutely nothing more about it. R*darina is exactly the kind of random-ass, crack theory, out of character, piece of crap that I could see them claiming was The Plan™ all along, when in reality they just threw it in at the end bc they couldn't be bothered to finish out Megan/Liz's story in a decent, coherent, sensible, & respectful way, & also desperately wanted to secure some kind of audience for their doomed season 9. They may think they're being clever by literally never addressing it again & saying Red & Liz's relationship was always meant to be "open-ended" or "open to interpretation" or some stupid bullshit that doesn't make any sense, considering their relationship IS LITERALLY WHAT THE PLOT OF THE ENTIRE SHOW IS BASED ONNNNN --- *ahem* Anyway, anon, I think at the end of the day, it comes down to this for me: even if they do end up reversing on the apparent R*darina "reveal"... it won't matter. Liz is already dead & she died never knowing the truth about her parentage or Red's tRuE iDeNtItY whatever the fuck that means AND perhaps the worst part about that potential "twist"? If they blessedly kill R*darina at a later date? Liz will have died believing a lie. Which makes her no better off - after 8 seasons of drama - than she was at the very beginning. So, no matter what, it just begs the question... what was the point of it all? I sure as shit don't know 🥲

I think Alonso could have been a real possibility? He changes teams often and does not hesitate to try out smaller teams as well. But would he have joined without some kind of assurance that he'd be put first? Not sure. But in any case there's the whole timeline issue : Alonso left Ferrari in 2014.

Raikkonen was free in 2013 but as I mentioned in another ask, I'm not sure he'd have taken such a risk.

Seb, maybe? If it had aligned with the time he left Redbull, so 2014? But idk, if he had had to choose between Ferrari and Mercedes, would he have chosen Mercedes? I guess it would have on the timing again, if it was at a time Mercedes was starting to get results, idk?

Massa and Jenson weren't doing great at that time but I guess they could have been contenders. I'm not aware of when their contracts ended and I'm honestly too lazy to look it up. I wonder if Jenson would have left McLaren, he's been very faithful to them. Also even if he did, would he have challenged Nico?

Massa as we touched on left Ferrari for Williams in 2013. I guess they would have at least considered him if Lewis wasn't such an obvious choice. But we get to the same question : would he have challenged Nico?

Valtteri's first season was 2013 so that was too early for him but then he finished 4th in the WDC in 2014 so they might have taken him in earlier? Okay so. First of all you’re so absolutely right the world and F1 would have been way worse overall.

I made a spreadsheet of all the drivers who have ranked in the WDC standings since Lewis’ arrival in F1 in 2007 and where they ended up in the standings each year because I can’t be a normal person about this. Then I tucked away all those who were clearly irrelevant to the subject (and that’s most of them lol).

I don’t know about top ten, I love all of their interractions tbh, they just remind me of my fav type of romance in general. I know what are my top 5 I think, but after that I love everything, so it’s hard to rate.

1. My absolutely favorite moment will forever be the one, where Rin describes the way he sees Haru in the water, I’m seriously forever in awe, because, I’ve read a lot of books, and like... even period dramas got nothing on Rin Matsuoka, when he describes the love of his life. I mean, seriously, find yourself a person who sees you the way Rin sees Haru lol

Rin felt like he was touched by the light, that surrounded him with warmth. He turned around to see Haruka, who was glowing. Shining. Haruka was shining with every strong and confident stroke that he made. The outstanding energy, emitted from him, surrounded Haruka with the dazzling light and Rin froze, unable to look away. Rin’s heart was beating so hard in his chest, that he forgot how to breathe. Haruka stole his heart. And the further away he got from him, the more distance grew between them, the more uneasy Rin felt, like he was losing the control over his emotions. He was possesed by Haruka’s shining. His strokes looked as if he was hugging the water, his leg movements were so effortless and so elegant, as if water herself was moving him to the finish line. But in all these deceptively smooth and unhurried motions were so much strength and power and such incredible speed, that all his opponents didn’t stand a chance. His swimming was that transcendent reality. He was like a bird dancing in the sky with its wings spread wide.”

Dude... I’m like... still speechless. I mean, and not just this, but everytime Rin talks about Haru, even when he jokes about his stupid habbits, you still feel that he finds him so beautiful, inside and outside, that it just makes my heart melt. 

2. When Aki tells Rin that if you put him and Haru together, you get a perfection. 

“That guy has no sense of humor. He should learn by watching me, don't you think?" Rin joked lightly.

Aki laughed a bit at his words. "It's true. Add the two of you together and divide by two, and it would be perfect."

But I mainly love that moment, because like... Aki starts telling him, that Haru is not what he's pretending to be (like for some idiots in the fandom who call him selfish, that was the explanation for them xD) and how everyone always want something from him, and he never asks for anything in return and doesn’t have anyone to lean on (yup that’s what I said all along, too, with Makoto’s dumb behavior in difficult situations, he’s on his own there lmao). And she waits for Rin to deny it or like be surprised, but it turned out that that’s exactly how Rin sees him and that he cracked him from the very beginning. BTW, here’s your addition to the ask about Rin loving Haru for who he is and seeing him for who he is. I’m just in love with that moment, because I’m happy that he just... not only he knows him, but bc he’s not one of those many idiots who just don’t get it.

"Nanase-kun seems like he can do anything all by himself, doesn't he? He's good at studying and sports and even art. He really can do anything, right? That's why everyone relies on him, but it would really be something for Nanase-kun to rely on anyone, wouldn't it?"

Rin certainly thought this was true. He had only just transferred, but the image that Rin had of Haruka was exactly that. But even if Haruka didn't have the will to go out and get involved with other people on his own, it wasn't like he was completely isolated. On the contrary, he was considered the most reliable person in their class, and when people relied on him, he always did his best to meet their expectations. This was the strange balance that people around Haruka had to maintain.

3. The one when Haru calls Rin by his name for the first time. And I honestly for some reason didn’t even realize that this moment was in the anime until my 3rd rewatch (lol), but, man, little Rin’s reaction is the most adorable ever. I cry.

4. When Gou meets Haru for the first time and immediately goes “ah so you’re Haruka Nanase, the one, who my brother talks about 24/7...‘Nanase is so cool, Nananse is so fast!’” and Rin just goes red lmfaaaaaooooo.

5. When Haru says that he feels the fever running through his body each time he just sees Rin, but he doesn’t understand what it means... ahem.... OH WELL

6. When Rin tells them he’s leaving and Haru gets absolutely furious and calls him a selfish jerk, but then he feels his legs giving out and he thinks that he needs to be in the water, but then he realizes, that for the first time in his life it won’t save him and he’s so lost and fucking crushed. "you can’t just mess up my whole life and leave me like that” and “this can’t be true, I can’t be this weak.” aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa fucking hellish angst... that mix of emotions was seriously hideous, at first he was so confused and in denial, he couldn’t even think, he literally went “who is leaving?” and then it just all blew up. Poor baby.

7. Just all the little moments, when Rin notices everything Haru does and falls in love a bit more each time. Like when Haru slowed down, when he saw that Nagisa is having troubles of keeping up with him.

Nagisa was earnestly trying to keep up with Haruka. If he kept up that pace, he wouldn't be able to run next to Haruka for the whole trip. That was how it had been yesterday. Nagisa's breath was coming short, and when Haruka saw him slow down a pace, he lightly turned his eyes downward. I guess that's as far as he goes.

A sigh mixed with Haruka's long breaths. Then, by just a tiny increment, Haruka let his pace slacken.

"Oh?" Rin said quietly. Haruka could almost hear him saying "You're so nice, Nanase," and he tsked inwardly. Nagisa caught up to him, smiling as if it hurt a bit. It looked like he'd lost the energy to keep talking.

Just cute, and they watched each other all the time, it’d be a bitch to count each one, but god, all of them were cute.

8. All the moments of Haru pulling Rin’s pigtails... hilarious, especially the RinRin one, but the funniest and my favorite was when Nagisa turned to Haru to ask him for a permision to call Rin Rin-Rin, like... all the rights to Rin belong to Haru and vice versa lmao I agree. “I’ll allow it” lolz shut it, Haru.

9. This moment: “Something happened inside of him that made Haruka incredibly angry, he was so pissed, that he didn’t even want to swim anymore. To think that someone like Rin could make him feel such powerful swirl of emotions and make him such a mess... he felt disgusted with himself.” Yeah, Haru, love is dat bitch when you’re 13 lol

10. The one where Haru whispers “sorry for making you feel that way” to Rin? The one where Rin’s grandma doesn’t want to go to see the relay, but then she suddenly does, when she finds out that her grandson’s future husband is in it? The “he at that moment realized that the only thing Rin was concerned about was Haruka” one? I don’t fucking know, you pick haha ANY MOMENT, ALL THE MOMENTS XD

BUT in all seriousness, I do not get how you can love Makoharu after the novels. Like do people just ignore these moments:

“Haru waved Makoto off like an annoying fly”, “feeling annoyed by his obnoxious care, Haruka went right past him”, “feeling like Makoto’s smile could turn into tears any second now, Haru turned away and went to the showers” (fuck this shit I’m out lmao), “complitely ignoring him, Haru kept walking”.

??????? is this... does anyone find this amazing??????!!!!!!!!!!!

Or when Haru was literally fucking losing it, cause Makoto just repeated everything after him and how he just lost all the respect in that moment.

“I feel like I should also get into running.” Makoto said it as it was a joke, but Haru knew for sure that it wasn’t. More than that, he knew, that Makoto was going to ask him that ever since the moment he found out that Haru was running this morning. Haruka fel annoyed, because he couldn’t find the excuse to refuse him.

Or this moment:

“Makoto was late and Haruka didn’t have any reasons to wait for him. Makoto can catch up with him on the way, they’ll meet at the swimming club either way. For both of them it’ll be better, if Haru went by himself, than stood there and waited Makoto, slowly losing his temper.”

“Haruka felt uncomfortable, cause Makoto looked at him, as if was a weak”

Or this:

"Did you know I was going to come out here?" Even though he knew it was impossible, Makoto couldn't stop himself from asking.

"Nope."

"Then, why…" are you standing in a place like this?

"Watching the sunset."

and I can go on and on and on

I’m just saying, all these moments are not even funny. My point in all this, that like no matter how much Haru loves Makoto as a friend... or got used to him is what I personally think, I don’t think he’s ever gonna idk how to say this... respect him as a human being? admire him? And this whole situation... I just can’t appreciate such kind of relationships even in a friends way. 

1stly because Makoto’s behavior in general makes me have war flashbacks to some of my real life experiences (and yeah, I confess, it affected me and that’s why I don’t like his character a lot; because I don’t think many people know what it’s like to deal with these kind of people in general). 2ndly, cause Makoto fans keep trashing Haru and many call him selfish bc of the way he treats him, but what they don’t understand is that if it wasn’t for Haru being this harsh, Makoto would literally became even doormat-y than he is now (yes, it’s possible lmao). 

P.S. my favorite in the novels tbh is all the Haru “I’m surrounded by idiots” moments, like when they started to dig the frozen soil with little scrapes and he was looking at them like they’re morons and then just silently walked away and came back with a giant shovel... “if you keep doing this with your tiny scoopers, we’re gonna be here all night” and they then they just watched him as he did everything himself LMFAO I just love him so freaking much. I also think his relationship with Nagisa are incredible and so underrated, since it’s a huge and incredible part of the books. I just keep saying, Haru’d be an amazing dad, so I can’t wait for him and Rin to adopt xD

I'm really sorry that you feel this way about that :( It’s definitely not your fault and I'm sure you do way more than enough! You’re definitely not old but I do see how sometimes that does make it seem a bit hard to understand them. It’s just a way different time that we are living in right now like trust me! The apathetic attitude towards things is very scary and I think it applies to more than just to teens! The world is a shit show and with the access to information/content so easily it can have a great effect on how they view the world. I can see how that attitude in a way can be a coping mechanism just because things are so overwhelming in general. And sometimes you just wont understand and that’s okay. They’ll come to you if they feel included too or they’ll let you know subtly. As long as you create a safe and open environment trust me they will/do appreciate it! And if you can afford it, I think it would be a good idea to take the next summer off!

Okay so I LOVE when you write in Harry’s POV! I just think it’s so cute to read his side of the story due to the majority of fics written from the point of the MC! Those analogies and your creative spin on simple things like hope/candles are what make your writing special! Bc it’s like your signature touch and just because it’s a fic doesn’t discredit your writing and hard work! I personally love them! 

I saw that you were writing a scene about Lauren and I honestly hope you include it for the plot! I will eat it up even if I will be left in shambles! I think I saw an AI image of him as a fireman and I was SCREAMING! You definitely took the right approach on how their dynamic would pick up after all those years. They definitely can pick up where they left off but they also have changed a bit so it will be a little bit of picking up. I think that they were/are capable of living without each other but they are MEANT to be together in some from if that makes sense lol Any crumbs of jealousrry i can get I will take! And yeah I was not into 1D like I knew very little about THEM, just knew their hit songs lol 

I get your feelings about the lack of feedback this time around! I personally love when you write and create these meaningful storylines! Sometimes certain stories just need that type of development and there's nothing wrong with that. And you are NOT bad at making the story progress! I think it has to do a lot with how fanfic culture has shifted, at least on tumblr. Some people prefer to read one shots and that’s fine. While others prefer to binge an entire series since some don’t want to get attached if it won’t be finished. Though I think that’s why many stories go unfinished due to the lack of feedback during its writing process. I swear it’s not a you problem, it’s just sad how it's changed. I hope that this won’t completely make you not want to write longer stories because there are many people who love it!

yea the design has always been questionable, but id rather it be minimalist like nuest w albums rather than weird shapes and fonts. happily ever after was really beautiful, i wish they kept that effort going. did you see the needle and bubble official cover?? i already had a feeling they would keep it plain white, but this is so disappointing, i cant even expect much for what the inside will be like.

its really just so unfair to the members since they tried so hard to keep the group together by going on pd101 (only to be drained and get rigged) but ending up in a situation like this >< even in the whole 1.5 years after merging they barely had any group activities besides the one comeback.

i think because mh is filming a drama and bh is hosting a show and just finished two musicals, renewing might have been one of their few options...and youre right, if they bring in more profits it would make sense to try and keep them. but maybe the contract is really short and they'll leave once it ends. but the damage is already done to the group, apparently even their group name was trademarked under BH ent, not even pledis or ****. a fan was trying to make a form with their name and there was a trademark warning??

seriously, a simple layout is better then that justified text thing that went on on romanticize's cover, many groups just go with the standard group picture on the front with some readable font printing the album name + whatever other text they choose to put on it, it's not the most eye catching it's rarely butt ugly so it's a safe choice for those that don't want to/can't spend on design

going to talk about the tracklist now since it's out and i also just saw that too, we're getting 2 new songs with the rest being remastered songs...not surprising bc i saw someone brought up that it said "NU'EST The Best Album" on the first teaser which basically pointed to it mainly being a compilation type of album, still upsetting because this could have been an actual comeback with a complete tracklist like between this and the design they made in 2 days you can totally tell this album was a last minute decision since they most likely had some work made on it already so it got pushed for release in this rebranded mashup goodbye album

YES GOD i have such a mildly optimistic-hate (not love-hate bc i sure as hell never loved it) relationship with p101, like i know a lot of fans were really vocal about not wanting them to be on the show when it came out in the news that they were going but i made a post back then too saying essentially that i think we should realize this would be their last shot, like it's so selfish to say they shouldn't go on when you see how bad it was for them...like yea mnet is a snake, their shows feed on drama but you can't deny the amount of traction and attention it can give and that's why anyone would take the risk and go on - and i'm saying this for not just the dead produce series, but any mnet show in general
