Do any other artists (and other creatives) out there ever like... put a specific object in your field of view while you're creating, just because it motivates you for some inexplicable reason? I started doing this a few years ago and the effect it has on my motivation level and output is astonishing. I don't know what the scientific explanation is.

so rewatching previous exu scenes have been crazy and heart wrenching (in a good way?) knowing there was mutual pining all the way back then.

key scene i am looking into at the moment is when the crew learns of dorian's 'off-stage' name. he's so kind and certain ("we'll still call you dorian", confirming again when dorian asks to promise he will keep calling him dorian)

the fact orym never calls him that. ever. not even when he was to pose as his bodyguard during the ball.

with his facial expressions during the reveal + dorian wanting a dark secret from everyone else, i really wonder what was going through orym's head at that point.

the secret that orym ends up revealing is pretty much just him admitting he checked out dariax before. which is fun, but unserious. there's a juxtaposition there, since liam makes it a point to say that orym looks at dorian, giving him a thumbs up, in the same scene where he apparently checks dariax out. it's kind of noticeable in hindsight, that orym doesn't really make a lot of comments towards dorian, at least not super direct and flirtatious ones. after all, he's shy.

ok so i cant work on my wip rn because... in bed so im gonna wax poetic about it instead.

ive always been kinda confused with where alabasta is supposed to be set, in a way its kinda like disneys aladdin in that is just sorta mixes togeather a bunch of swana/se cultures/imagery to create a vauge idea of a 'desert country'. but considering Nefertari is an egyptian name (Nefertari Meritmut being the main example, an egyptian queen and first wife of Ramesses). im going to personally go with that idea.

with that out the way the main thing i wanna talk about... mehndi! (or henna). i personally think it would be so much cooler if the 'X' code was done in it. because the whole resolution to it is that while the X may fade, their friendship dosnt. Mehndi is an art that works of this principal, similar to rangoli. bridal henna for example is super intiquite and significant for the bride(/groom if ur progressive like that) on the mehndi celebration and shadi itself, and yet it fades away. But the specialness of the occcasion doesnt.

theres also the fact that it takes wayy longer to fade, so the drawn out process of that would be more impactful. ironicaly enough, for nami/sanji the most as they wash more often (namivivi angsttt). luffy and zoro being last.

because of all this im really obsessed with the idea of mehdi being a namivivi love languge. its such a wonderful artform to share with another person and in a romantic context tthe artistry and body worship aspects you could add are just. soo good.

I'm not an extrovert. At all. In everyday life, I'm a yapper, sure, but I need someone to first assure me I am okay to yap, so I don't start conversations, even when I really want to join in sometimes! It's just the social anxiety acting up. God knows where from and why I lose a lot of my inhibitions when it comes to talking to people about music. I don't know where the confidence has suddenly sprung from. I've made a crazy amount of friends in musical circles, either just talking to people about common music or (since it is after all in music circles) talking to bands about their own music. I let out a sigh of relief any time an interaction goes well, because in truth it's going against my every instinct. I wish I could do that in everyday life

not the best showing, but has anyone figured out they can do this? its a little inconsistent in killing everything, because the mannequins like to move sometimes (i think. the blood makes it hard to see), but i can generally kill most/all of the mannequins with this alone
