Teenage Keith one day complains when Shiro and Adam call him “kiddo” and of course Adam snorts and sees right through him but Shiro tries to take him seriously so the next morning he calls Keith “Keith” instead of “kiddo” at breakfast and Keith just gives him the most betrayed, butt-hurt look Shiro has ever seen

As I start to gradually slide back into full Teen Wolf brainrot, here’s a list of how I think Teen Wolf characters would behave when overtired (because I am nothing if not good at projecting)

Isaac and Allison both get super grouchy in different ways. Isaac gets some season 2 douchebag back in him. Like his anger starts to get a little unchecked, he loses some of his coping mechanisms and he starts talking about how “he’s not so good at writing” and maybe he’ll just kill someone and everyone else is like “okay or maybe just go to bed, get a full 8 hours and try again tomorrow”.

Allison gets some season 2 anger back too but, whether she knew it or not, she was raised to be a solider and was absolutely taught to ignore her emotions. So her anger is all internalized and it’s not until Lydia or Scott notice like “hey you’re glaring at the paper pretty hard there” or she says something particularly cruel about herself that people get clued in.

Mason has a lot of inside thoughts that, when he’s well-rested, are filtered cause he 1. recognizes that they are unkind and 2. doesn’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings. When he’s tired, depending on the level of exhaustion and who he is talking to, one of those two reasons to filter goes away. I love Mason, he’s a total sweetheart but kindness is a choice that takes EFFORT there’s no way it doesn’t slip a little when he’s off his game.

Liam, Malia and Kira are all spontaneous sleepers (to ME). I feel like these three narratively struggle the most with control. So it would make sense to me that they would be going going going and at some point their bodies just go “okay we are done” and suddenly they are asleep. Malia is the most normal about it, cause of the three, she feels the most in tune with her body’s needs. So she’ll feel it coming on and be like “okay I need to lay down” and will like. Put her head on her arms or something. Kira starts slurring her words or will stumble a bit more and someone is like “oh Kira is going down” and will help her out. Liam just cold drops in the middle of whatever he is doing, totally passes out with no warning.

Stiles, Lydia and Scott are different based on the season levels of trauma they’ve experienced (oooo angst)

Lydia has so carefully crafted herself in the beginning, I feel like, for the first two seasons, it HAS to be that that facade starts to crack. She’ll correct Jackson’s grammar. She’ll rattle off an equation too quickly. She’ll correct a teacher. After she’s come into herself more, and the facade crumbles like a stale cookie, I feel like it would be the opposite. She starts making crazy mistakes that even she’s like ‘okay what the fuck I just wrote 2+4=28’

Season 1 Stiles would absolutely just start falling asleep in random places. Total spontaneous sleeper BUT! Post-possession, anxiety brain is like ‘nope that can’t happen again’ so over tired-ness leads to shakes and increased adrenaline. Which leads to more over tiredness and more shakes and more adrenaline and…

Season 1 Scott gets confused when he’s over tired. Just has a really hard time sorting his schedule and remembering. One of my Scott headcanons is that he is one of those guys that needs to be like very organized. Like he’s smart but if all his ducks aren’t in a row, he scrambles. We see that he struggles most when he (justifiably due to… events - like getting bit by a werewolf!) can’t compartmentalize. And I think, pre- and early werewolfism, being exhausted and over-worked would be one of the biggest wrecking balls to his row of ducks. As the show goes on, I feel like Scott would start to shut down when overtired though. Like frequently zones out, not always responsive and when he is almost entirely nonverbal responses

genuinely forgive me for spiralling abt this thing i just made up but the concept of rolling on the relationship track potentially giving people a stress token is making me want to see riz snap all the more. i think it would be so appropriate to the whole like "the moment he slows down he will break" thing for him to finish these huge challenges and successfully pass all of his classes for the year with flying colours and have a chance to take a breath and use that to try and, for the first time in months, reach out to his mother.

and then it just all comes crashing down and he takes a rage token and fights with sklonda and logically he knows that this rage isn't helping but he's so angry at this system that forces him to work himself to death and sklonda is just. there in the moment; a face for him to yell at. and even if it's not fair he can't control his anger. in the moment he suddenly feels much closer to kipperlilly than he ever has. who sees what she considers an unfair system, and is pissed at the people who enforce it and benefit from it.

idk obviously there are larger plans for the rage tokens as a whole (tying into ankarna, probably pushing them closer to like, being this corrupted being) but it would make so much sense for riz, after everything else has fizzled down, to just crash into a wall and break.

Every time I think of the “Bad Hair Day” episode, I’m always a little thrown off by how off-putting it is when looked at from a distance. Like, in that episode Leo is just wanting time to rest for once. That’s it. He just wants some rest and relaxation.

And he’s so desperate to get it that he makes a deal with some random guy to basically uh. Be experimented on. In a way that definitely doesn’t seem all that pleasant in the process!

But hey, at least it works out well and Leo’s happy with it, right?

Then, finally thinking he’s getting the rest he worked for, he instead essentially becomes a host for a parasite that is embedded into his skull. And gets blamed for the actions of the adult that took advantage of his wish for rest.

Like????? I can’t help but feel just a touch of horror at the theming here. Leo just wanted a trip to the spa…

Everybody assumes that when Tamaki is sick, he’s a melodramatic little baby about it. Hell, Haruhi had assumed the exact same thing for a long time. Mostly because she had never seen him sick.

The thing is, Tamaki almost never gets sick. He’s got a pretty good immune system, and he doesn’t so much as sniffle during allergy season, let alone suffer from colds. So when he gets the flu, nobody really knows how to handle his reaction to being sick.

Which is, of course, full-blown denial.

He refuses to admit that he’s sick. He’s got a burning fever and can hardly go two seconds without sneezing, but he will be Damned if he misses work. Haruhi found him standing at the door, wearing a pair of pajama pants, his bunny slippers, a half-buttoned up shirt, and a hot pink running jacket. She promptly tries to bring him back to bed, which feels akin to trying to cajole an over-tired toddler back into bed.

It takes him an extra long amount of time to get better, mostly because he keeps leaving bed and over-exerting himself when he’s meant to be resting. Haruhi takes it like a champ, mostly because she used to babysit for her neighbors. Surprisingly, baby sensory videos are just as effective on men in their twenties as they are on toddlers.

But, The Clone Action Movie Pitch actually got me.

I'm all ears 👀

YESSSS I’m so happy, I was hoping somebody asked about this one! This idea came to me two weeks ago and I’m STOKED (And also I am defo ready to see what you have cooking 👏)

So basically the thought started with the beginning to a familiar action movie setup of a group of guys having to reunite after over a decade because somebody has been coming after the members of their former squad and killing them off one by one, and now they have to get back together for one last job to find out why and put a stop to it. Despite the fact I started writing this with the express purpose of using all sorts of action movie tropes for the formula, there’s still new and fun twists on how they happen because we’ve set it within the world of Star Wars. It’s a good old fashioned action movie, babyyyyy!

It’s also all original characters, which I know may not be some people’s thing, but it means that this is unconstrained by most of canon, in terms of timeline consistency or connections to other properties’ stories. I have plenty of canonical Star Wars elements, but I wanted this to be a case of “Hey do you like Star Wars and don’t want to do any homework to understand what’s happening? Do you like action movies? Come on in!”

Taking place ~16 years after the end of the Clone Wars, the story opens with fifteen-year-old Rio and his father living simply in a city on an Outer Rim planet. Most people didn’t know what the clones looked like beyond their armor, and that— along with its owners— was phased out a long time ago. Rio doesn’t know much about his father’s past beyond his own life, but it doesn’t come up in conversation much and Rio doesn’t know of a life any different than the one they’ve always had.

There’s some suspicious activity and murmurings around town, us following Rio through what a normal day should be for him, but as the day draws to a close things start to get more suspicious. His dad, normally a genial and easygoing guy, is strangely quiet and serious, and there’s a moment Rio catches him having some furtive conversation over a comm in the hall; when his dad realizes he’s there he snaps at him to go back to bed.

When Rio’s noticeably caught off guard by his dad’s tone, his dad visibly softens and his shoulders slump, and he goes to him, gently pulling him in to press his forehead to his son’s as he apologizes, asking him more civilly to go upstairs. Rio reluctantly does as he’s told; though his dad outwardly seems much more like his calm self, there’s still something tense about him.

The next day it’s clear there is something going on, the kid seeing people closing up shops, arguments happening in the square, a squad of troopers questioning and harassing people. Rio’s nearly caught up in trouble with the troopers himself before his dad appears out of nowhere and intervenes, making quick work of them before telling him to stay calm and follow his lead, the two of them swiftly making a beeline for their home.

His dad tells him to pack a bag of necessities only, says they’re leaving and they won’t be coming back. Rio, understandably alarmed, desperately follows his dad around the house asking questions, asking what’s going on in town as his dad yanks cords from electrical panels in the walls and burns the databanks on his machines, and the kid’s alarm only heightens as he sees his dad pull burner comms, armor and gear, tools and equipment and weapons he’s never even seen before from hidden compartments all around the house.

His dad hated guns.

When Rio finally stops him and demands to know what’s going on, refusing to budge another inch until he has answers, his father sighs, visibly pained by the anger and distrust on his son’s face.

He takes Rio by the shoulders, gentle despite all that’s happened. “Do you trust me?”

Rio looks doubtful. “… Is the person you are still my father?”

“Yes,” his dad says without a moment of hesitation. “Yes, Rio.”

Rio wavers for a moment, but right now all he sees are the earnest, honest eyes of his dad, and he realizes… Yes. He does trust him.

“… Okay,” Rio says, beginning to help pack gear into a duffel bag. “Let’s go.”

The kid doesn’t ask any more questions as they head out of town on foot, not even when gunfire starts up several blocks behind them and people start panicking in the streets. They’re at the edge of town when they hear the first explosion and Rio sees his dad’s resolve harden to determination. An old friend of theirs takes them by speeder outside of town; Rio still doesn’t ask questions when his dad leads him to a ship that’s been hidden and well-maintained for over a decade, and eventually the two of them set out to escape off-planet.

They wait in a remote location for other ships and transports to arrive. Rio sees a number beings exit the ramps; there’s a Pantoran woman in a trench coat with a satchel over one shoulder. A mountain of a man in a motley assortment of layers follows her, wearing a visor and partial face mask, accompanied by a droid. Another pilot lands and immediately hops out from the cockpit, sliding down the ladder as a second man follows. The first looks like a stunt racer, dressed in speederbike leathers and boots. The second man looks like a regular lineman, though with a rifle slung across his and a mask covering his features. The pilot unbuckles the strap of his helmet as he joins them, and something about it looks familiar to Rio.

A real, honest-to-gods Mandalorian appears from behind Rio and his dad from the outcropping they’d met at, either having been there the whole time or somehow managing to creep up on them without notice.

The group convenes in a loose circle, and his father removes his hood.

“Lark,” he says, nodding to the woman. “Gentlemen,” he says to the men. “It’s been a while.”

They all look at each other, noticeably glancing at the kid before he puts a hand on his shoulder and says “Rio. My son.”

Slowly, one by one, all of them remove their helmets and masks, and Rio can’t help but look around the circle in astonishment.

Each man there, every one among them for no discernible reason why or how, shares his father’s face.
