I've made a lot of walls in my day but these are some of my absolute favorites.

#ts4 #sims 4 #wip #i restarted the siding project a bunch of times because i wanted the size of the textures to look just right #the old siding was a bit too skinny?#then i wanted a fresh clean brick texture #but not with overly saturated swatches #i'm super happy with the results!#and the paint/panel combo is another project #inspired by some sims 2 walls!

it is always nice to find another abuse survivor who also felt like ford's story resonated with them. it's nice to feel like there's other people who know what I'm talking about

#so it's not like I'm talking to some brick wall or something lol #I feel like psychological abuse gets downplayed a bit but man it really fucked me up #psychological abuse is like a domino effect. you are conditioned to do one thing that gets carried over to the next abusive situation #and that gets you conditioned to accept another hurtful thing etc etc #and then it stacks up and you end up where you are. it's why abuse victims are seemingly magnetic to abusive situations.#because they were abused in the past #though this is also just me explaining complex post traumatic stress disorder

He needs a good cry so so bad...

#the thing with punching bag characters (atleast the ones that rise to my faves) like Skinner is that I want them to be happy #but they're so goddamn easy to bully and traumatize even further. I kinda get infected by the same thought process the show writers get #I want to slam him into a locker for a joke and at the same time I want him to get away from his situation and move onto a happier one #and I know they're super contradictory desires to have but it's just the versatility characters like him exude #by the nature of their personalities vs their living situation. Skinner can be so goofy and joyous in his nerdiness and that's adorable #and yet he seems so entrenched in the idea that Agnes is all he has that he doesn't even seem to register most of her behavior as abuse #and something to get away from. and that's so upsetting. Baby Viktor

Due to a magical mishap in the lab Viktor ends up de-aged. Little Viktor comes to himself in a place he doesn't recognize, with no clothes and no cane. He is very obviously in Piltover, and there is a very large man calling his name and asking him if he's ok and what he remembers. The poor boy is very frightened, and it doesn't help that they are not speaking in his first language, so he is still having some trouble with words at this age. Jayce, of course, helps the little one up and puts his own shirt on him, which hangs down like a dress, but little Viktor is even more terrified because of the strength in Jayce's arms and the fact that his hand practically covers his entire torso.

Of course, the poor child tries his best to put together how he got here. He understands that he is missing memories, but he doesn't know he's been de-aged, so he is trying to figure out how a crippled child from the undercity ended up in the rich part of Piltover. The feeling of being out of place gets even worse when he finds out that Jayce is a councilor and when he meets Mel, who looks extremely extravagant and is also a councilor. Any and all ideas he can come up with are, of course, bad ones, but there is little good he can figure from his situation. He had never thought of himself as one of the ones to sell their body for food and shelter, much less to big, strong, rich pilties, but he assumes his past self must have had a reason and tries to be good and not make himself sick with his own thoughts.

#me running onto the scene of my own crimes trying to bandage the wounds with semicolons that are Not up to the task #a day in the life of Lia #language #sometimes you look at a perfectly elegant sentence in another language and go 'yes there is a normal amount of sentence in that sentence'#and you try to do the same in english and english goes 'no there is in fact too much sentence in that sentence'#and the problem with english is that often you still technically CAN do it. you won't run into a brick wall or anything.#you'll just be left staring at a paragraph that has begun to look like an escher staircase and might at any moment manifest eldritch powers

my favourite thing about the always sunny podcast is listening to rcg all say something extremely neurodivergent and then agree amongst themselves and convince themselves its completely normal

#and to be clear im not diagnosing them charlie said he wasn't neurotypical #like deadass i think. the reason some of their writers just completely botch the gang's motivations/dialogue sometimes is bc at their core #these characters are all. SO autistic. which inevitably leads to them being misunderstood by others outside their group #whether rcg realizes it or not they inject this very specific vibe of neurodivergence into the gang #and its why they will just. argue over inconsequential details bc they Need to be understood completely #they can't just drop it unless they are crystal fucking clear #imo the biggest mistake other writers make is thinking that the gang is completely desensitized when its more like #they just don't react the way you would expect #which is often... adjacent to that but still distinct. and its trauma that influences this as well #the gang does not believe they themselves are 'bad people'. theyre most often oblivious to the fact that the things they do are insane #rob saying he doesnt pick up on social cues and then going on to argue in circles with glenn #i dont think last week was anything crazy but i think. rob doesn't know when to let up. which is a problem that *i* have #and while it comes across as being confrontational in an 'im right youre wrong' way i dont think its driven by ego here #just like with how as they said mac and dennis are making up while chucking bread rolls at each other #on both sides its frustration at being misunderstood #but they are all similar enough that even if they disagree over small details theyre usually on the same page. and this can be beneficial!!#thats the conclusion of the ep!!!! whether its suggesting smoking to cancel out the toxic apple skin or suggesting words u cant think of #glenn said he was upset about feeling misrepresented and picked on #dennis gets angry for those exact reasons in.... ALL of his big rage scenes #its frustration that leads to anger because youre speaking to (another) brick wall and you can't adequately explain yourself #which. glenn is clearly more competent than dennis & i think a lot of the time in sunny the gang is WAY more obtuse for the sake of comedy #but its interesting to watch the dynamic because as charlie said last week #they are mac and dennis (especially when theyre fighting)#i just think.. they are in a semi-unique position to understand this because this is how they are. while several other writers do not get i #ada speaks #untagged

In S5 when Wrong Hordak (never not funny) asks Entrapta about her "facial tic" and she IMMEDIATELY just explains to him what it is - a wink - what it's called and how it's used and THEN gives him encouragement to try it out so he understands it better and feels more confident??

My. Fucking. Heart. neurodivergent ppl looking out for neurodivergent ppl and showcasing EXACTLY how to just not be a dick to people who don't get social cues. It's not our fault. It's not personal. It's not us trying to be difficult. We just don't get it. Explain it, give an example, a safe place to practice it and boom, logged and loaded.

Like im glad she's like... not some innocent flower who can do no harm #girls harmed haha girls harmed a LOT in fact #and in many ways the others are justified in being frustrated with her #and the resolution that's 90% just communication issues is SO GOODDDDDD #cuz it's NEVER been that Entrapta just doesn't care - she does! She has almost 0 tools to express that care and walls herself off instead #and the princess' help her break down those walls and build doors and windows #one painful brick at a time #GIRL same
