Things That Have My Attention in 4 Minutes Ep 1
Our protagonist Great is an irresponsible rich kid with daddy issues who loves a deep V, his giant cat, and terrible feng shui
His love interest Tyme is not at all wealthy and in deep debt and has the worst bedside manner and also a nice grandma who is def in danger pls don’t kill her show
His half brother Korn is surprisingly prominent in the story, also has daddy issues, and seems very out of his depth trying to prove he can take over the shady family business
There’s a sugar baby in the mix who is not getting the kind of affection and attention he wants from Korn, who def only sees him as a fuck toy and kept boy
The boundaries and rules of Great’s new superpower are not yet clear—he’s seen 4 minutes into the future a couple times but the cause was not consistent and he’s also experienced other time fuckery and some kind of visions that don’t seem tied to the 4 mins clock
Doctor Den appears to be conducting a research study about people who’ve had near death experiences and in doing so has found another person who has experienced the 4 mins power
The lady who walked in front of Great’s car keeps bringing up her son who is around his age and I expect him to matter at some point
Don’t think I missed that Great’s original choice after hitting that woman was to leave her there and flee the scene, we got some character work to do here
There are clocks and hints and visualizations of the number 4 everywhere in this show, just everywhere
In conclusion, Dr. Sammon is back to fuck with me again and I’m psyched.

Random QL Superlatives: 2024 (Mostly) Horny edition
My viewing list isn't as comprehensive as I'd like it to be, so please refer to the lists from @lurkingshan , @bengiyo and @happypotato48 for some good show recs and hilarious superlatives.
Line that would have me folding like a lawn chair: Min from Kidnap
Definitely not the most original of lines, but having Min look at me with his big, beautiful and expressive eyes would make all the difference.
Favorite kiss that made me believe that they wanted each other carnally: Jack & Joker takes the cake for this one.
This was a highly anticipated one and came after the midway point, but they still managed to exceed my expectations.
Favorite character I'd be willing to go to law school for to defend their crimes (if any) in court: Reese from First note of love.
This is probably a cop out because the man wouldn't get in trouble with the law. But, if he did, I'd be ready to defend him.
Favorite character for whom I would be willing to unalive someone: Gyu-ho from Love in the big city
My baby boy has never done anything wrong in his life and put his heart into everything he did.
Favorite character with the most diabolical line: Dohoe from Let free the curse of Taekwondo. His 'Did you dress up for me?' to Juyeong in this scene still makes me scream into my pillow.
Ep 6 sexpot Dohoe, you'll always be famous for trying to fuck away your problems, no matter how unsuccessful you've been.
Favorite love confession: Ryoma and Haruto from Doku koi
My favorite legal couple. What more can I say about them? A con-man who fell for his own con and a lawyer who used to believe that love is a poison (and a distraction). The earnestness of this confession and the vulnerability they express in this scene catapults them to the top of my list.
Favorite horny moment I'd like to observe from a distance: Mahasamut licking Tongrak's palm in Love Sea.
I knew FortPeat could bring the heat because I watched Love in the air, but man, watching it play out was definitely an experience.
Favorite sex scene: Great and Tyme banging in the real timeline in 4 minutes.
Say what you will about the show, but their chemistry was fire.
Favorite naked back: This category was made just so that I could mention Arashi from Love in the air koi.
Blame it on recency bias, but his sweaty arched back has been on my mind a lot.
Favorite couple my eternally single ass would probably kill: Muenfah and Teerak from Your Sky. It's an ongoing series, but I feel fairly confident as to where they are going to end up.
Don't get me wrong, I love them, but being near them while single would be a nightmare. I feel very represented by Lee just being so over their extremely real fake-dating.

I was gonna make gifsets out of them but tbh idk if I'll ever have the time because it would be like 20+ gifs gifset but I have to say
Great and Tyme had the most complex character developments I've ever seen in a show
Great went from being extremely passive and selfish in the face of violence, e.i. letting Den's girlfriend to have a heart attack when he literally had a phone in his hand he could have call an ambulance and letting Manee die after hitting her and not stopping Title from killing Dome and letting his parents control him like a puppet while he self destruct alone, to genuinely trying to have a connection with Tyme even if Tyme was using him (it's not like he knew any better from anyone else around him all people do is use him: Title used him as accessory to murder, his parents use him for the family business, he is probably used to people using him for his family money and that's why he has like virtuallyno friends other than Title), to trying to save Nan but being paralyzed by fear, to confronting his parents about their illegal businesses when the news broke irl before even his 4MP, in the middle of all of that he was already become permeable to the idea that his parents and him weren't good people, he was having trouble sleeping & being alone because of that, and on top of that he had Tyme yelling some sens into him because he could not just stay in that state of passiveness, indecision and self destruction forever, his inaction hurt people, got them killed, got him shot
So in his 4MP he became braver, he saved Manee, he saved Dome, he helped save Nan, he help Tyme get at his parents for being assholes, because he never wished that none of it happened he just wished he had reacted better, and meanwhile he also experienced another thing he always wished he had which is someone who cared deeply about him, even if he barely knew Tyme, he knew that Tyme had that in him because of how Tyme treated him before during and after using him to get back at his dad, and to be honest it really didn't matter if Tyme didn't have it in him as long as he was brave and someone treated him right before he was gone forever
And when he came back from his 4MP, he knew he couldn't change and be as perfect as he was in his 4MP but he could better in the future, he can stop his parents before they came back and started that cycle of violence all over again because once again they were using him and putting him in danger for their own benefits and were focused on trying to get something they didn't even deserve back, he can make amends for what he had done before aka hit and run with Manee and his implication in Dome's death, he can take decisive actions even if they are hard and will affect him negatively because it's the right thing to do and because he isn't alone anymore, Tyme is there, Tyme knows everything, understands him and loves him anyway
Tyme on the other hand got completely changed by resentment when he found and read his mom diary, he became cold and uncaring towards everyone around him including his patients and his ex, he was so blinded by rage that he misinterpreted the contents of the diary, he used Great who had nothing to do with any of it other than being related to the person he thought was responsible for his parents' death, threatened the wrong people, couldn't save Nan after putting her in danger by involving her in his vendetta, lashed out on Great who was genuinely trying to be better & help but he could not see it because he was too angry, impulsively exposed the gambling dens out of anger, Great is in the hospital dying after he just used him and lashed out at him, he got his Grandma killed instead of giving justice to his parents he lost his last family member, and then got shot and his heart stop in irl
So in his 4MP he chose not to read the diary at all from the very start, he chose to be free of the resentment and anger of what was taken from him and what could have been, he will never be a singer but that's fine, he can learn to love being a doctor and learn to care about his patients, he can break up with Nutcha properly and have his grandma be with him, he can love Great and Great can love him and he can be happy with that
Tyme experienced the 2 complete extreme on the spectrum of Revenge and resentment, a world where he was blinded his vendetta and didn't see anything but it before he was shot and a world where he didn't touch that vendetta at all, and when he came back from his 4MP he realized that he didn't want to make those choices like that anymore, he didn't want to be only fuelled by revenge but he couldn't just live with 0 justice being served, especially not with Great being back next to him who is taking action to right his wrong doings, so he chose to still try and find justice but in a way that would honor his parents & his grandma, in a way that will allow him to feel the love that can be between Great and him, in a way that he would be happy with the life he has
So yeah, I think this show had a very interesting and complex way of showing characters developments that we have never seen before, and while it was extremely non-linear, the message of taking better decisions so you do not have only regrets on ur death bed was very clear, and I'm gonna be thinking about those characters for a while

Clocks, Watches, and Time in 4 Minutes
We're halfway into 4 Minutes and I thought I would write a bit about the different ways they use clocks, watches, and time in the show (so far).
I've already written about time a lot in my timelines post, but I just can't seem to stop thinking about this, so here I am... Again.
We all know time matters in this show. What I love about it, though, is the attention to detail. Because the details matter. They're being super intentional with them.
Don't believe me? Then let me show you.
When Great picks up Korn's phone at the bar and tries to open it (in ep 4), it says 09:10 pm:
But, the small clock at the top left on Korn's phone says 11:02 when Great snoops through it:
That's just Great continuing to see this anomaly when he's alone (it also tells us he's still at his 11:02 stage in this episode).
But then, when he sends the text about Nan's location to his own phone, Korn's phone still says 11:02 at the top:
But the text Great just sent to his own phone was sent at 09:12 pm because the phone knows what time it is even if Great can't see it:
See?
It's about the details of this show!
All the clocks and watches matter in 4 Minutes, not just the obvious or big ass ones they focus on to capture our attention. All the clocks/watches matter because they're intentionally set by the crew (I'm a thousand percent sure about this).
Now, let's look at some different ways they use time in the show.
So far (in chronological order), we've seen time used for showing:
Cold openings
Great's time anomaly (11:00-11:02 so far)
Great's 4-minute phenomenon (which Den calls it in his research)
Different timelines/realities in scenes that follow each other chronologically
Digital vs analog clocks/watches
Differences in 24-hour and 12-hour settings on digital clocks
The 4-minute time limit
Different timelines/realities in the same scene
Let's go through these one by one and hope that I can work within the image limit (seriously tumblr, I need more than 30 images per post, lol).
Cold Openings
The first two episodes open with events that happen outside the events of the rest of their episodes.
The first episode starts with Tyme getting shot and a patient in the ICU having a cardiac arrest (whom I, and many others, believe to be Great).
The second episode opens with Tonkla beating the shit out of someone with a rock.
Both these openings are isolated events that aren't connected to any of the bigger timelines or other events, yet.
Great's Time Anomaly
This is every time he sees 11:00-11:02 (which is as far as the clock has come at this point).
It started at 11:00 in the 1st episode:
Then it turned to 11:01 in the 2nd episode:
And 11:02 as Great was watching the clock in the 3rd episode:
So far, he's still at his 11:02 stage (which we saw on Korn's phone in the 4th episode). But I think the ominous ticking will continue in the next episode (or the 6th episode at the very latest).
Great's 4-Minute Phenomenon
Great has had 6 4-minute phenomenons (4MP) so far:
Hitting Manee (ep 1)
Bumping into Tyme at the hospital (ep 1)
Seeing Title beat the shit out of Dome (ep 2)
When he had a conversation with Tyme at Uni (ep 3)
His and Tyme's argument at the hospital (ep 4)
Seeing Samarn shoot Nan (ep 4)
The first 4 in the list above include clocks to show that Great is jumping back 4 minutes (I will only show 2 of them because I need to save images, lol).
When he arrives at the hospital in the 1st episode:
After he's bumped into Tyme:
After he's sent back:
When he walks away from Tyme after their conversation at Uni:
After he's been sent back:
The last two in the list above don't include clocks at all, probably because Great (and we as viewers) know what's going on when he has his 4MPs in the 4th episode. We don't need it explained again.
Different Timelines/Realities in Scenes that Follow Each Other Chronologically
I've written about this already in my timelines post, but I will summarize it here.
Chronologically, the scene where Korn is with Tonkla in the 1st episode is followed by the family dinner, which is followed by Korn dropping Great off at home.
Interestingly enough, Korn arrives at Tonkla's place at 07:15-ish pm:
Tonkla wants a second round at 08:55 pm, just as Korn's dad calls and wants Korn home for dinner:
Then, when Korn drops Great off at his condo after dinner, Korn's watch says 07:15-ish:
While the clock on Great's phone says 07:13:
This is all meant to be the same day Great hit Manee. Everyone (Great, Korn, their dad, and Great's mom) is wearing the same clothes throughout these scenes that happen on the same day. Yet, the times are different.
(Technically, Korn drops Great off at the same time as he arrives at Tonkla's place, which is super interesting.)
Digital vs Analog Clocks/Watches
I've already gathered the digital and analog clocks/watches from the first 2 episodes in a separate post (including the ones we've seen in the teaser and trailer).
I won't add images of them here (since I need to save images for the rest of the post, lol), but you can see them throughout this post.
Both digital and analog clocks/watches have a prominent place in the show, even though the digital clocks are more obvious and attention-grabbing.
I haven't yet figured out if there's a pattern behind the use of either in certain scenes or situations. Analog watches can obviously be a luxury item, so Great and Korn's watches are more than likely used for that reason as well. But other than that...
Great use and is surrounded by both digital and analog clocks and watches. Korn always wears analog clocks, but his times are shown on his phone as well. I'm pretty sure Tyme's watch is a digital one. The clocks at the hospital are digital (I can't remember if I've seen an analog clock there). Yet, the staff at the hospital have a mix of digital and analog watches.
So... I don't know. But at least they show a variety of clocks so it doesn't get boring, lol.
Differences in 24-hour and 12-Hour Settings on Digital Clocks
I've written about this already in my timelines post, but I will summarize it here.
The hospital seems to have a 24-hour setting in some cases, as we saw from the image of the clock on the front desk saying 13:10 when Great arrived (image above), but not in other cases even though this is in the evening:
Since it's the same hospital, I would find it strange if the clocks had different settings (or perhaps that's just me, lol). Perhaps, then, this is a way to show different timelines/realities (since Manee is, more than likely, dead in the real timeline/reality).
Interestingly, Great seems to have both settings on his phone as well (or, the phone is showing the time as 12 hours wrong).
The clock on his phone, when Korn drops him off after their family dinner (image above), says 07:13 while his phone at the hospital shows 13:14 (image above) and 16:33 and 16:29 when having his conversation with Tyme at Uni (images above).
His phone is clearly set on a 24-hour setting, yet, it says 07:13 at night? Obviously, he could've changed the setting after that night. But it could also indicate that different timelines/realities are present.
The 4-Minute Time Limit
This showed up in the 3rd episode in a vision Great had of himself and a mystery woman (who we now know is Lukwa) in a gallery:
It also shows up in the 4th episode as Lukwa talks to Den about this gallery and the mystery man (who we know is Great):
And we learned (even though most of us knew it already) that this is the limit of time a brain can survive without oxygen.
Different Timelines/Realities in the Same Scene
The clocks/watches were screaming at me in the 4th episode, to a point where I couldn't ignore them even if I wanted to (which I didn't). I've written about this in my timelines post already, but I'll summarize my thoughts about it here.
Korn and Great were in different times in the scene are the bar. Korn started the scene at 06:50 pm:
While Great's watch showed 03:20-ish when he arrived at the bar (after my ramble in my timelines post about this, I thought it was most logical if this was am for Great considering the scenes that follow):
Great's time is consistent to him as it turns to 03:50-ish while they're still in the middle of drinking:
While Korn's time stays consistent with him, which could be seen when Great grabbed Korns phone and it showed 09:10 pm when he tried to open it (image above).
It's also interesting to note that, if we follow Great's time from the bar, then he's kissing Tyme in the tent at 02:00 pm:
This would mean that Korn's time, at this point, is 05:40 am, which (according to my calculations in my timelines post) is the same time Great ditches Korn at the bar to go save Nan.
(This could mean that everything that happened in Great's timeline/reality after he left the bar didn't happen in Korn's.)
Anyway...
Korn and Great exist in completely different times/realities even though they're in the same scene together. And I absolutely loved that detail with those clocks/watches. That whole bar scene was heaven for my brain.
Things are definitely changing when it comes to timelines/realities in the show, and I'm on the edge of my seat with every new episode.
I can't wait to see what time-fuckery we'll get in the next one.
Is it Friday, yet?

I'm watching too much stuff. And things are not slowing down with all the things coming in September. So I'm gonna try and keep this short. As much as that's possible given the amount of shows.
QL - Currently Watching
🇹🇭 4 Minutes [6/8] - Finally some answers. I haven't read all the theories floating around about this last episode and what it means, but I'm firmly on the side of, there is another alternative timeline, probably from when Tyme is dying at the start of the show, and also very much in agreement with everything @lurkingshan wrote here that these are just imagined do-overs and nothing will actually change in the real world. Which would be my preferred way.
🇹🇭 Addicted Heroin [2/10] - Haven't watched this weeks episode yet. My review for the first two is here.
🇹🇼 First Note of Love [4/12] - I like them a lot. And I like the pacing of this. I love the intro song. But with a second couple being introduced I think I'm gonna get frustrated having to wait a week for a 20 minute episode. I felt that way a lot during Kiseki.
🇯🇵 I Hear the Sunspot [10/12] - I am annoyed.
🇹🇭 I Saw You In My Dream [7/12] - May the boyfriend era commence. I am enjoying this one. I'm guessing we still have a bit of angst coming and I'm hoping for a good explanation for the dreams.
🇯🇵 Mitsuya Sensei no Keikakutekina Ezuke [6/7] - Just such an incredible show. This week brought the pain and I'm still unwell. As if Frito getting sick wasn't heart breaking enough, that ending left me in tears. I cannot believe we only have one episode left. I am not ready to say goodbye to the three of them.
🇹🇭 Monster Next Door [6/12] - My favourite thing about this is definitely Big. His presence on screen is great. But I'm not fully connecting yet for some reason.
🇹🇭 Peaceful Property [1/10] - It's a lot of fun. Yeah, I know it's not a bl. But it's bl adjacent so it goes here. Also in my head it's gonna be a bl no matter what. Possibly even with a gl side couple. The mind is a powerful thing.
🇯🇵Sugar Dog Life [4/10] - I love Isumi. I really liked that they didn't drag the girl storyline and it served it's purpose. Isumi is now very much aware of it's feelings. I'm looking forward to the date episode.
🇯🇵 Takara No Vidro [9/11] - Takara, my love. This boy has my whole heart. I can't believe I'll have to say goodbye to then tomorrow. I'm bracing for part pain, part happy. Please Japan don't let me down.
🇹🇭 The Loyal Pin [1/16] - I'm waiting to binge.
🇹🇼 The On1y One [4/10] - This show will hurt and I will love every second of it. I really like the look of this show and how we get those little insights into Jiang at the end of the episode. The actors are doing great and I specially love Benjamin Tsang facial expressions. I'm curious to see these two together and how their dynamic will work considering their circumstances. Also, always happy to see the revolving door of cameos Taiwan always grace us with.
🇯🇵Twilight Out of Focus - It's so beautiful. I'm enjoying that we get different couples even if sometimes it feels like we could have more time with them. I like Rei/Shion a lot, but I do miss Mao and Hisashi. 🇹🇭 The Trainee [10/12] - Just to get it out if the way, the Bamhee/Judy storyline was definitely the right call and @lurkingshan was right all along. Also the way the office came together was delightful and it's great to see Pah getting everyone together and once again being the best friend ever. Now. THE OFFICE FLIRTING!!! I was losing my mind giggling like an idiot. I love them. It's pretty obvious at this point that it's mutual and of course Ryan will need to actually be told that, but I still think Jane will wait until the internship is over before confessing or starting anything official. I can't wait to watch all the interns reaction next week. I love it here.
QL - Finished
🇯🇵 Ayaka is in Love with Hiroko! - I'm disappointed in this one. It started off so strong but by the end it lost me. I love Hiroko but I feel like they betrayed the character. And that ending with the kiss in the office was ridiculous. Actually most of the end was weird in the way that it seemed to contradict what came before. I like that they finally got together but it didn't feel as good as it could've.
🇹🇭 Century of Love - Started of great and imo fell apart by the end. I don't think it was consistent all the way through and the mythology was all over the place. Daou did an amazing job though. Also Ju is one of the greatest female characters of the year.
🇯🇵 Cosmetic Playlover - Pretty show. Final thoughts here.
🇹🇭 Knock Knock, Boys! - Probably the biggest surprise of the year for me. It's great. I like the development of both couples. Even if near the end I got a tiny bit annoyed with Peak, I really liked the conclusion of it all. Latte is a great character and the very rare slut unjudged by the narrative.
🇹🇭🇨🇳 Meet You At the Blossom - Look it's great that we got a chinese bl, but this was not it for me. Let's hope this one helps get others made though.
🇹🇭Love Sea - It was fine. I enjoyed Mut but in general I just never connected to this show. And Muk annoyed me to no end. I was so happy to see Aya again and now I just wanna forget that she was ever in this and simply remember her as Yiwa.
🇹🇭 SunsetxVibes - I don't even have words. I don't know if it was my lack of attention or if it never actually made sense but I never really got what the mythology was all about apart from inspiring a truly horrendous looking necklace. I was slogging though this one and I guess the finale was fine.
🇹🇭 This Love Doesn't Have Long Beans - The sides were great, their chemistry was on point. I really wanna see them again. The mains were my favourite thing about Pit Babe but I just didn't like them here.
🇹🇭 The Rebound - I just have to accept that MeenPing will always have bad scripts. They are pretty together but this was a mess.
Dropped

I am still in awe, because of boys.
Let's talk about this:
We have two people, two pictures as a background. And their story which will start. With Tymes POV.
So, let's talk about the background and symbolism.
Sunsets are the time in the evening when the sun disappears or daylight fades. It is also when something expires or terminates at the end of a fixed period unless renewed. The setting of the sun represents the completion of the day’s work, symbolically the opportunity to rest. In Chinese culture, the sun and moon are seen as a dualism, showing two completely opposite forces coming together and complementing each other. Yin and yang. Which we saw as a clothes color in Great's 4 minutes. In some African cultures, the sun setting and moon rising represent a life cycle from birth to death, with a rebirth happening every morning. I think this represents what we are seeing in this scene. Tyme and Great, in different universes, parallel worlds, different dimensions, in their own 4 minutes limbo, no matter what, they are destined souls and they are meeting in every universe. Sunsets remind us that, no matter how good or bad the day was, it always comes to an end, and importantly, the bad moments never last forever. The thought of a tomorrow, a hope for tomorrow.
Sunrises are defined as time in the morning when the sun appears, or full daylight arrives. The sunrise symbolizes birth, growth, new beginnings of all kinds, and resurrection. Every sunrise gives you a new beginning and new ending. Let the morning be a new beginning to a better relationship and a new ending to the bad memories. It’s an opportunity to enjoy life, breathe freely, think, and love.
We see Great standing in Sunset side and Tyme standing kn Sunrise side. As this was Tymes jump in 4 minutes, he is in need of a better future. We see how different he is, he cares about patients, he knows their names, he, himself breaks up with Na, with whom he has no feeling anymore, he feels more, he has more emotions. He doubts in himself, this Tyme is everything, real timeline Tyme wanted to be, but because of revenge and unresolved feeling , he became what we saw. But he got second chance, they got second chance and it is what sunset represents, the new day, knowing that it can be changed.
Great stands in front of sunset. Sunset means, the day has ended but the memories still remains, for Great who wanted to be loved ve but couldn't get it even from his family, he find his world in Tyme, Tyme who definitely was first person who gave him feelings, emotions, Great didn't even know that he had. New experiences and the life he wanted to have. The sunset is often seen as a symbol of endings and new beginnings. It represents the end of the day and the beginning of the night. In many cultures, the sunset is a time for reflection and introspection. It is a time to let go of the past and embrace the future. And that's what Great did. Let go the past to live in the present to create a better future. (The short scene, when he went back home from the hospital and thought about meeting with Tyme).
I just made myself cry.
P.S
I thought they would die. U have know ideas how happy the ending was.

Tyme has the best rizz ever. I can't accept all the Tyme has zero rizz/awkward flirt/introvert flirt etc etc.. I dont want to keep quite anymore. From amongst all the doctor gays I've seen in any media I've consumed, and from the real life surgeons I've worked under, TYME HAS THE BEST RIZZ. I kept typing and deleting this. Because obviously, I didn't want to communicate and my opinion really doesn't matter. And there's hella lota things happening in the show, but
- TYME FORCEFULLY GETTING GREAT'S CASESHEETS FROM THE NURSE TO TREAT GREAT WHO IS HAVING LIKE ONE VISIBLE WOUND WHEN TYME BEING (I GUESS) THIRD YEAR RESIDENT, NOT AN ER SURGEON ITS NONE OF HIS BUISNESS (There are interns as the nurse said, calm down sir nvm thank you for your empathetic enthusiastic service)
- TYME TUCKING IN HIS SCRUBS BEFORE GOING TO SEE PATIENT GREAT (internally screaming since the day I saw that clip/episode, surgeons atleast any single one I know don't fucking tuck in their scrubs, at least not in my country, UNLESS ITS SOME VERY IMPORTANT SUPERIOR COMING OR MEETING THEM like health ministry people checking the quality at hospital etc aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaass so Tyme tucking in his shirt before seeing Great is so important to me atleast)
- TYME KNOWING HIS FULL NAME, i don't really know how it is in hospitals in Thailand, do they use their full long names or both the nickname and full name, but either way, TYME KNOWING HIS FULL NAME AND HIM TELLING HE KNEW IT FROM THE BOUQUET (instead of the case sheet which is what I expected) was sexy
- TYME TELLING HIM TO COME BACK TO HIMSELF FOR SUTURE REMOVAL BECAUSE HE WAS THE ONE WHO SUTURED IT (bombastic side eye) (WHAT A FLIRT!!!!! SIR YOU JUST MET HIM)
are infact some top quality rizz and quality realistic writing(atleast to me).
I don't consider Tyme putting himself between Great's legs/leaning in while examining the wound as rizz, it's obviously unethical, there's no need to compare reality with fiction but still I'm most of the time a boring person. So I don't mention that in the list. Rest of that happenings were pure pure flirty cutey pie thing.
Did the rizz work on Great? Yes. That's all that matters.
Also I'm posting this now because I didn't have Tumblr account till two days ago. Anyway what an episode today!!!!
Sad. Fucked up. Happy.
Not just the characters but Timeline is not straight as well. 😌
----------------------------------------------
Also it's nice of them whoever from production editor writer cast whoever decided to spell TYME as T Y M E instead of T I M E because they all know we be writing time time time multiple times in our meta/posts and it kinda easily seperates the character name and the entity of time, probably plays an part in trending hashtags etc etc. but great decision.
#4 minutes#4 minutes the series#great x tyme#brain is beyond rest relax repair phase its not even rotting at this point#lgbtq#that shirt tuck in is the most realistic rizz ive ever seen both on media and in real life#greats priority list is just one person and he got it atleast as of tonights episode tomorrow we dont know#not just the characters the timeline isnt staright as well#happy gays make me happy#4 minutes ep 2#4 minutes ep 4

4 Minutes - Ep 1-2
I haven't had much free time to keep up with all the series lately, I was planning to catch up and influenced by @my-rose-tinted-glasses enthusiasm I decided to watch 4 Minutes first 😘
So, ok. I love it.
First of all, I'm writing this before diving into the 4 Minutes tag, so I have no idea about the most popular theories. I have a few of my own working theories, but I don't feel like writing about them right now hehe. I will write what I like tho!
very good execution, but it's BOC, so no surprises here
aesthetics, actors, everything is 💯💯
I really like the mystery, suspense, crime, ambiguity, confusion, slow discovery of new plots, a certain kind of darkness that already created the delicious vibe in DFF ✨ I also like the pleasure and satisfaction I feel as a viewer, when I see something that I suspect might happen, it happens and the series doesn't force the opposite, doing stupid, illogical or ooc things, just to shock and surprise me (looking at you GoT). For example, I knew that Title wasn't found dead in this field, and when it turned out that he was alive, it didn't take away my pleasure from guessing it in any way. I love it when a show lets viewers guess what's going to happen and respects their intelligence
no matter what universe, Jet plays a complete dick who is in conflict with Mio's character ✨
Mio, Mio, Mio, Mio!! 💖💖💖💖 I gasped when I saw him, I'm literally conditioned to love this guy. He's ruthless and uncompromising again, gosh, my heart 💖💖💖(fair warning: I'm going to be insufferable about him, so be prepared 🤡)
the sex scenes are as bold and high-quality as ever
traditionally for BOC we have a juxtaposition of rich and poor, corruption, tragic choices caused by poverty, exploitation, overworking, fulfilling the expectations of ruthless parents, wealth as well as poverty being the source of crime
Bible plays a poor rich boy, which I really like. I also like his pairing, which wasn't at all predictable and obvious, because I'm probably the only person in the world who can't stand his pairing in KP (please don't hate me)
luckily Bible is a Cat Person and it shows, because he uses a Special Voice to talk to the kitty. The cat is relaxed, which is an exception in BL series 😑 (isn't that his cat? they seemed close 🥺)
of course I must comment on the BL in the BL series. So… yes! It's good! Bible as Great is wonderful but then again I didn't expect anything else from him. Tbh I was worried about what his partner would be like, whom I didn't know. Jes turned out to be sensational, first of all you can see his experience, he's 32 years old (!), as Tyme he's an absolutely captivating mix of an intimidating professional at work and adorable baka when he's just some dude liking a guy 😄 I really liked how the series is serious for the whole 1st episode, most of the 2nd and then suddenly there's a scene of Tyme smoothing out his feathers in a peacock mode, emphasizing his figure and shapely butt to look nice for his crush, it was so funny and cute. Also when he awkwardly tried to flirt with Great, the faces he made when he realized how clumsy he was lmao. I love the kind of men in BL shows who are strong and masculine but who turn into fluffy, awkward teddy bears 🐻 in the presence of their loved ones. When I saw Tyme in ep1 I thought he was going to be a stereotypical seme and I'm so glad the show lets him be a normal person.
It's interesting that Great gets a second chance every time he does something wrong 🤔 And I wonder why he sees a future with Tyme? This kind of future? Hm.
Overall I love 4 Minutes, I'm officially hooked. It's very interesting, intriguing and spicy, there are a lot of plots that are starting to overlap and connect, the series has actors that I like (some I even like a lot! just seeing Mio and hearing Bible speak English accounts for like 74% of my enjoyment lol), it's not afraid of controversial topics, the series doesn't treat viewers like children, the execution is at a very high level, Jes and JJay show infatuation at first sight in a very convincing way, the romances started very interestingly and I've watched the Tyme/Great scenes a few times already.
That means 3 series to obsess over in a week! Lucky me! ✌
(I might edit this post by adding some gifs later)

Also, when Bible is topping him, and Tyme starts caressing his beautiful chest and then his beautiful face. Great is like: wtf what are you doing? are showing care, like nice touches of love, is that a thing?
Doesn't matter if Great is worse than Vegas, cause at the end of the day he is just a wet little meow meow

I guess we will see how 4 minute ends but I’m not convinced Tyme or Great love each other or want to be loved by each other. If that was the writers intent then they failed. All of their semi romantic scenes fell flat for me. It just seems like they were hastily thrown in there because they forgot this was supposed to be a BL.
I'm always one to say that everybody is entitled to their own opinion when it comes to tv shows and movies and at the end of the day everyone's perception will differ...but I never meant they're supposed to love each other right now. I also don't think this is what the show has been intending to show us.
I think they both WANT to be loved (though we're in Great's point of view for most of the show so I'm definitely speaking more for his side of things).
I think original timeline!Thyme is incapable of loving original timeline!Great because their entire connection is based on Thyme using Great and preying on him. Thyme is totally closed off (in a way idealised!Thyme isn't) and he doesn't view anything that Great does charitably or positively. Original timeline!Thyme is absolutely wrapped up in his own shit and trauma that he's incapable of viewing Great as anything other than a person to use (and a person that's affiliated with the family and empire he deeply despises).
The version of Thyme that Great pictures in his alternative world isn't someone Great has access to in the original timeline. But we've seen original timeline!Thyme with his grandma and he deeply cares about her and is capable of affection so I think this version does exist.
Great doesn't actually know Thyme, that's true. But for a few moments he felt connected to someone (doesn't really matter if it's justified imo – Thyme made Great proactive, he pushed Great to care) and it amplified his loneliness and his deep desire to be cared for.
So yes, Great loves an idealized version of Thyme that might exist – or not. I don't really think it matters though. Because essentially this is about what Great deeply desires, what he sees in his last moments and who Great actually wants to be. (Re: his powers. If he had the chance to see four minutes in the future.)
Their scenes before do have a misplaced feeling to them. But that's intentional because they're...well...not real. They differ too much from the original timeline. But that was clearly intentional imo because it shows how much Great craves for their "love" story to be different.
Regardless of what I say though – I feel like we probably won't agree on this anyway. Because I absolutely felt the warmth and love in their idealized world and I felt the tenderness that Great craved (and received from idealized!Thyme).
#4 minutes#4 minutes the series#greattyme#ask#i also don't really know how to respond to that last jab...i started watching this show because i love character-driven mysteries#(especially queer ones!) and i missed seeing bible act lmao

Got some more thoughts about episode 3 in no particular order.
Episode 3 really helped confirm this strange phenomenon I've noticed of the dark subject matter colliding with rather optimistic symbolic imagery. Almost all the numbers Great sees are angel numbers with messages about seeking enlightenment, harmony, and trusting the path one is on. Black and white cats are symbols of good luck, symbolic of yin and yang. There's a lot of imagery happening between Great and Tyme symbolic of harmony, luck, and enlightenment.
I did not miss, for a single dadgum second, that slanted shot when Korn and Great were talking to each other at the end. If you think of that shot as two characters sitting on opposite sides of a scale, it definitely implies there's a huge imbalance of power favoring Korn, and I found it telling the slant continued when he left the room. Between Title, Korn, Tyme, it's really seeming like Great, for all his flaws, really was mostly just this quiet and oblivious guy who got jerked around and manipulated by a lot of personalities much larger than his own.
Great's far from perfect, but the core part of him is that guy who wanted to play the claw machine, and that puts him on a VERY different level from Korn, who's running a gambling empire and keeping tweakers for sugar baby side-pieces. That doesn't strike me as anything Great would ever conceive of doing, but more importantly, it's something he probably wouldn't have to do. I could see Korn being jealous of the protection he enjoys thanks to his mother's manipulations. She's throwing Korn into a line of fire he doesn't necessarily seem to want to be in either, and I think that's going to cause an issue, especially with Tonkla going off the deep end.
Great outlining the word sex in red when making that chart will never not be funny to me. That's such a guy thing to do.
I'm starting to wonder if Tonkla is on a different timeline, because I'm starting to think that's not the case. I think Great saving Dome happened first, then the killing happened second. I think the cover-up could have been set into motion because Great's prints were found on the rock.
Early Prediction - I think if Title and Korn come into contact with one another, these are two people who both have cause to feel alienated by Great, and who are probably operating with a lot more knowledge and capabilities than he is. I've been trying to figure out why Title is hanging out with Great for awhile now, and I think it has something to do with him maybe being a bit more aware of Great's family than Great is himself. I could definitely see him getting up to something with Korn if he can use the chance to attach himself to what he'd perceive as the favored brother of that family, as well as get revenge on Great.
Anyways, that's all for now, I'm working up the mental fortitude necessary to log onto my work platform and write some reports.

4 MINUTES EP 1 thoughts and theories (the more serious post where I talk about the deeper shit)
WILL CONTAIN SPOILERS
Am here for the plot and storyline, so I am ignoring that scene entirely (personal preference).
General thoughts before I zoom in on certain things: I like this concept. I think a lot of times people do the see the future and try to change to future shit and it doesn't really fit logic properly, like there is just no consequences for changing to future constantly (I do believe in the need for balance in the world sort of thing so it makes no sense to be given a superpower ish and just not have any drawbacks or impacts).
With that said, one major detail that I like is that no matter how Great does see the future, whatever he sees will happen in one way or another. Looking at the car accident, the woman still gets injured despite Great's slow ass driving, Great's father still clears the issue up with the police for him (I assumed that Great driving away will still lead to his father doing that for him, considering how much his father cares about their reputation). For the scene at the hospital, the flowers will still be delivered to the woman, and the impact of the woman's words on Great remains since he has already heard it once.
blurry pic but welps.
Next, the lifts. Why is it that whenever Great's power starts kicking in he was taking the lift either from the 4th floor or to the 4th floor. Genuinely, please have meaning for why specifically 4th floor and not just out of convenience. The scene of the first lift, the one in Great's apartment where he suddenly has loss of breath and dizziness.
There is no mention of Great's medical history in ep 1 and we do know there is some link of this seeing the future power with having heart conditions/heart attack. However, Great does not seem too fussed with this since dude literally just goes "why can't I breathe" and then decides to drive. I feel like if one has history of such conditions they would be at least more worried, if not possibly have medication on hand or go to see a doctor or something to check for relapse. Unless this superpower just comes with heart problems, but working theory.
I think the way the clocks move also does have purpose. Whenever the time is 11am/pm, the time is using 12h clocks, Great's bedside digital clock in the mornings (and dude constantly waking up at 11am) and analogue clocks for 11pm at night. I think this repeated showing of 11 is to make us remember that something bad will happen to Tyme, most likely in the future, and Great will see it eventually. Whenever the time is used when showing Great's power, the blinking to show the seconds is very obvious. Additionally, the frames focuses a lot on the clock, as we see in the hospital room, with the glowing, blinking digital clock.
It makes us take note of the time, and sort of foreshadows that this is the 4 minutes into the future he is seeing.
I would also like to explicitly point out the difference in styling for Korn and Great. Korn is always in perfect suits, neat button ups, hair gelled up and styled and not a single strand in his face. While Great...is in asymmetrical shirts (LOL) and hair that he lets casually fall around his face. Which could show sth for the story, but we shall see. For now I will admire Bible's styling.

4 minutes ep 5 thoughts
can't believe we're over halfway through :( but how nice to be able to watch on iqiyi
a warning for flashing lights would've been good
bless. she played that perfectly because that was an expression every woman can recognise instantly but [straight] men have no idea
okay I love title's shirt. confirmation it's tonkla who takes him out then
the grass, the trees, it all has a very dream-like, unreality/hyper-reality in a way kinda feeling. the establishing shot of the grass just feels like a movie in an intentional way
omg they're glamping!! I thought it was a tent at the end of last ep but I didn't think it'd look like that lmao
[we haven't seen tyme wear a necklace yet have we? yet in the first visions of them having sex he definitely has one on. just thinking about it now because his shirt is like making it very obvious.]
they are soooooooo. I gotta go lie down on the floor. tyme straight up serenading great, the man does have moves. (where'd he get a guitar from? it came with the campsite)
the most insane thing is that they're both still wearing shoes and socks around. (<- might be assigning australian values here)
musician AU CONFIRMED.
just taking a moment to appreciate jes' acting. my goodness. my HEART.
NAN BACKSTORY!! bee I love you as well. miscarriage? oh damn. this is depressingly real. I hope Nan gets to burn everything down
the framing of tyme and great in these shots is so interesting. tyme always on the left, often higher. don't even need to mention the black&white.
why is what's on the picnic table so blurry or are my eyes going weird
"what if the next death is you?" "I don't have anything to lose." okay. pain.
I love Korn losing it.
oooohhh sa-marn. this is the one single thing I've liked him doing. (and not just because it means we get to see great's mother again 😍 the one sleeve look is perfect)
"the son of yours" number one thing not to say to your wife unless it's a cute joke
god great's even got a red number plate to match his car lmaoooo. actually surprising to me that his car doesn't have a GPS tracker or something. korn's gonna be waiting for great isn't he.
if it started as ~seducing great to get to his parents it's so far past that now. the look tyme is giving great….. the hand on the back of the neck. leave me here to die actually.
oh god this horror movie shot. oh lmaooo. den my guy. oh I don't recognise that dude hmmm. title?
great just straight up walked in front of that car. dude. if there was ever a time to be aware of your surroundings… oh it was korn so who cares. wait he's got a red number plate too, that does NOT match your car.
can't park there.
the man with his shirt unbuttoned down to his navel is taking about how serious this business is
there's that older brother "I'll do it so you don't have to" idc I live for this kinda stuff
honestly I thought korn was gonna be waiting inside great's apartment so that was way less intense than I was expecting lol
CLOCK'S BACK!!
OH MY GOD. holy shit great's dad is. incredible. awful. lovely little note that he said stay away from great before he said stay away from the company. (the like, heartbeat in the OST? gorgeous) take the money and then do your thing anyway, like what are they gonna do? call the cops?
I wonder if that's his maternal or paternal grandmother. it doesn't matter I just like knowing stuff
dude nan has been through it, let her have her revenge!! it's not like she's getting the 5 million so. I understand her.
aww manee's out of hospital.
korn getting slapped…you love to see it
since she mentioned her dad being powerful I am now assuming she and title are siblings lol. korn doesn't deserve this woman she should marry me instead
I'm way more into the idea of ep 4 being great's first time with a dude because that makes tyme blocking him now all the more delicious 😌
I wanna just. applaud all of this. the sound. the cinematography. the look on her face.
oh shit great's gonna get shot now isn't he
(did his mum kill korn's mum)
first flashback/flashforward in a little while. this guy is bold and dedicated to his job - nobody heard the first gunshot?
half of great's face covered in blood spatter….perfect. the clock has started.
hmmmm. okay. this better not turn out to all just be in great's head because that is the worst of all theories lol.
thank god den can recognise people from split-second glances he's the most powerful character ever
this is what tyme's wearing when he gets shot in ep 1. the BLOOD ON HIS FACE cutting in and out with the light? hellllloooo. next episode is tyme right?

For a couple named GreatTyme they are just so incredibly out of sync in the real timeline, they didn't grow up together because Tyme's parents got killed while Great's parents got rich, when Great is a lonely depressed self destructive panic prone insomniac grasping at reasons to live, Tyme is ploting revenge, when Great is ready to start trying to better himself and build something with Tyme, well Tyme isn't because he is caught up in the plot and he is fighting the physical and emotional consequences of his own vendetta, and then when Great is dying, well Tyme is finally unfolding the plot and understanding what matters is his grandma and what he just started having with Great, and then he gets shot and both his heart and Great's heart stop, hopefully they can finally be in sync when they are in the afterlife together

I got an ask from an Anon last week and @whatevenisthishellhole yesterday about the red in 4 Minutes (which I included in two different posts, one with the red in episode 1 and another with the red in episode 2) and if those pops of colors actually mean something or are unintentional.
Anon's question was more about how the red relates to the story (which I will expand on in a separate post whenever the Olympics are over) and if I thought it connects Great and Tyme somehow, while @whatevenisthishellhole asked more about whether I think the red I included in those posts was used intentionally in the show or not. So, I'm combining these asks to write a bit sweepingly (since I want to get back to fully focusing on the Olympics) about color and the red in 4 Minutes.
I first want to mention that all pieces of visual media have a color story, whether intentional or not. It's just as important in a painting as it is in a series. Color is important (which is why there is a whole process of color correction/color grading in the post-production of films/series).
So, the short answer is: yes, all colors matter.
Obviously, the colors usually matter more to the actual story if used intentionally to complement the story (like color-coded characters, to show hierarchical structures, to create moods, etc.). However, color stories with the intention to create a visually pleasing look also matter since the goal of visual media (like the QLs we watch) is to keep the viewer's eyes on the screen.
(If you've ever kept watching a show for the visuals even though the story is chaos (I'm looking at you Chains of Heart) then you know how powerful the visual aspect can be, and the color story is included in that.)
Of course, the shows that combine both colors that complement the story and a color story that's visually pleasing have a knockout combination. (Examples of this that I can remember off the top of my head are Secret Crush on You and The Trainee, the latter is currently airing.)
So, to summarize, all color stories matter.
It's just that some colors may be more intentionally used than others.
Do I think this subtle red...
Is as intentional as this intense pop of red?
Not necessarily.
But that doesn't mean that this subtle red (the binders/books on the shelves in the background) doesn't matter:
What if it's an indicator that Fasai (and/or her father) is in league with someone within the police force?
(Yes, the binders are different, and yes, the red on the books/binders at Fasai's place might be unintentional. But, someone in the production put them there so that they show up on both sides of Fasai in that shot.)
And even if it's a red string/cord (or whatever that is) in Tonkla's drawer:
Or the red in Korn and Great's dad's tie:
It all matters in one way or another, whether it's intentionally used to complement the story (or give us clues about something) or to add to the visually pleasing color story that the show has.
What I'm saying is that some red pops of color might be unintentional in 4 Minutes (and probably are). But the unintentional stuff also matters.
So, Anon and @whatevenisthishellhole, thank you for your asks, and I hope this makes sense even though I'm distracted by the equestrian jumping competition in the Olympics, lol.
