Team Jackson has repeatedly said the Chandlers demanded $20 million. And there, in Evan Chandler's own diary, is the admission that he and his lawyer did ask for that amount. But also written there is the contention that it was Michael Jackson's side that first brought up the idea of a financial settlement. Chandler writes that he came up with the $20 million figure - planning to put it in a trust for Jordie - to punish Jackson in a manner that the superstar could relate to. Evan Chandler was a man who was obviously in over his head, dealing with a class of people and in a world with which he had absolutely no experience. He had tried to manage the situation to the point where, in retrospect, his actions looked suspect.

Outside observers might wonder why Evan Chandler ever agreed to sit down to negotiate with a man whom he believed had robbed his son of his innocence. After hearing Jordie's revelations, why didn't he simply take the boy in hand and march down to the police station? Chandler would likely tell you it was because he had promised Jordie he wouldn't tell anyone - and he didn't - until he was faced with having to turn the boy back to the mother who wanted to take him away on tour with Michael.

Whether the allegations were true or false, there was a vulnerable young boy at the center of it all. Going public would mean opening him up to public scrutiny and media attention. His life would forever change under those circumstances.

But Evan had already begun to write things down. He spent hours painstakingly trying to reconstruct a chronology of events - a 42 page typed document that would ultimately find its way to me. It is full of all the angst, confusion, betrayal and manipulations Evan Chandler and his family were struggling through.

He wrote:

I realized that for the first time in my life I was going to have to break the promise I'd made to Jordie not to tell anyone what happened between him and Michael. I said, 'This whole thing's out of control. We have to tell your mom so she'll be on our side and we can end this insanity.' Jordie agreed. We called June, and Jordie told her that he wanted to tell her the truth about what Michael did to him. June got hysterical because it was obvious from Jordie's statement that Michael had molested him.

According to his diary, later that same evening, June calmly called back to say she thought that Evan had 'coerced' Jordie into making the accusations against Michael. Perhaps she had time to realize that she herself could be in trouble for having exposed her son to danger. She had taken expensive trips, jewelry, and other extravagant offerings from a man whom she had in turn repeatedly allowed to sleep with her son. She had to know that wouldn't look good to outsiders.

When Evan took Jordie to be interviewed for three hours by Dr. Abrams - without Evan in the room - that was followed up by a Los Angeles Department of Children and Family Services investigator knocking on Evan's door. The investigator was accompanied by two officers from the LAPD. Dr. Abrams had obviously believed Jordie's story and made his mandatory report to the proper authorities.

I'm quite upset to see this announcement has changed from the LCMF website's original posting back in March to when I looked at it today: June 7, 2023. Toby's photo is gone & now it has a photo of another actor and listing him as doing the novella readings. Why?😫😖😞 Probably a scheduling conflict with his new series filming -- and hopefully not a health issue.🙏:

In the live adaptation of The Walking Dead, Carl was around 16 years old when he died BUT Chandler Riggs was, as we know, 18. I did some calculations to find out what Chandler Riggs looked like when he was actually 16 and found out that he was nearing 16 during the filming of Season 6. (S6 was filmed May 2015, Chandler’s birthday is June 1999)

This Carl is the one that was bit, this Carl is the one that had to shoot himself in the head because he didn’t want to put his dad through having to kill his own son. Carl’s death is upsetting as it is (especially when he was never supposed to die according to comic storylines) but it becomes even more gut wrenching when you visualise Carl, looking like an actual sixteen year old, having to die so young.

“The makers of puberty blocking drugs such as Lupron and Supprelin warn that possible side effects include emotional instability, mood changes, aggression, nervousness, anxiety, agitation, confusion, delusions, insomnia, and depression, adding that you should "monitor for development or worsening of psychiatric symptoms during treatment."(12) Depression is considered a common side effect of puberty blockers, and according to drug manufacturers, "may be severe."(13)

Girls who take GnRHa experience a significant increase in behavioral and emotional problems and are more likely to self-harm.(14)

According to the largest gender clinic in the UK, after a year of being on puberty blockers, there was a significant increase in young women who agreed with the statement "I deliberately try to hurt or kill myself."(15) It should be noted, however, that there was no control group in this study, and so one cannot infer causation. What's clear, though, is that the drug was hardly curing the psychological distress of the children who took it. Rather, they expressed greater dissatisfaction with their bodies after being on the drug.(16) In the words of a team of researchers who promote the treatment, "It is therefore unlikely that GnRHa treatment will result in significant reduction in body dissatisfaction.’(17)

Understanding the role of hormones in brain functioning helps to explain why the drugs could have a negative emotional impact.

Puberty blocking drugs shut down the production of estrogen and progesterone. However, researchers believe that estrogen can have a protective effect against mental illnesses such as depression, acting as "nature's psychoprotectant."(18) Dr. Karen Berman, a senior investigator for the National Institutes of Mental Health, studied the effect of Lupron on the female brain. After injecting women with the drug, she scanned their brains with a PET scan and found that the activity in the frontal lobes of their brains had slowed to a near stop.(19) This leads to dulled or inappropriate emotions, lack of motivation, impulsiveness, and altered mental states such as delirium, disorientation, and confusion.(20) Studies also showed that puberty blockers cause memory problems and stunt brain development, which is the last thing a young person needs when making life-changing decisions about his or her future.(21) Therefore, those who argue that the outcomes of puberty blockers are uncertain are guilty of what some psychologists call "HARKing:" hypothesizing after the results are known.”
