THE BLOODY LIFE OF R.M RENFIELD - out now
The Bloody Life of R. M Renfield By Marty Ross
Some #horror filled cinema for your ears
With Harry Myers And Sarah Whitehouse
Delivering astounding performances of this wonderful dark and gruesome script - the origins of Renfield’s servitude
Available on our feed and your favourite podcatchers
If there’s one character in Bram Stoker’s novel Dracula as fascinating as the arch vampire himself, it’s R.M. Renfield the zoophagous patient in Dr. Seward’s mental hospital, who has fallen under the vampire’s spell. But Stoker provides no explanation of how Renfield came to be imprisoned, nor of the origins of his strange relationship with his Master.
Marty Ross’s audio drama imagines a whole back story for the character – the story of a tragically ordinary Victorian shopkeeper, stuck looking after ageing parents and prone to a furtive fascination with blood.
Desperate for relief, he goes for a holiday in Whitby, on the Yorkshire Coast, where he experiences premonitions of a vast supernatural power approaching across the sea, a force that will bring meaning to his life, but only of the most terrible sort.
TRIGGER WARNINGS
Blood, violence and father to son domestic abuse , reference to marital domestic abuse, murder, drowning, coarse language, sexual reference, depiction of dementia, factory accident, cut throat razor, close shaving, death, depiction of insanity.
Writer, Marty Ross has written several gothic dramas for Wireless Theatre, from Blood And Stone to The Woman On The Bridge and Night Of The Orchid.
Here, working again with two of Britain’s foremost audio actors, Harry Myers and Sarah Whitehouse, Ross combines the darkest of dark humour with the most poignant, devastating tragedy, in a production that takes listeners, immersively, inside a very troubled and dangerous mind….

Can any world survive a benevolent god?
@foggyoutline presents:
Tumblr media
Cover art by Dionysis Livanis
Produced by @wirelesstheatre
In this original audio drama podcast, each episode is a prayer, some prayers are answered, and a prayer granted can upend the world.
For fans of
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Each episode of I Need A Miracle is a short monologue. A new character every episode. Never the same character twice. Always addressing a plea to a listening deity – which never makes a sound.
Play god
You, the listener, stand in for a silently listening god. Hear brazen demands for divine intervention and vulnerable, secret pleas for deliverance. Whose requests would you grant and why? Does anyone deserve a miracle?
Play detective
Which pleas are granted? How does the listening being decide? What are the Upheavals that regularly wrack this world? What threatens to rise from the Depths? And can any being with ultimate power truly be benevolent?
Play the heartstrings
I Need A Miracle is all about the many kinds of wanting, and the many ways of asking for help. How would you make your case to an omnipotent being who grants some miracles but not others, based on ineffable criteria?
Coming August 2024

A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court (1921)
Based on Mark Twain’s 1889 novel of the same name, A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur’s Court is significant in the fact that it is the first film adaptation of a Twain’s novel and as the second film about time travel following 1918’s The Ghost of Slumber Mountain. Directed by Emmett J. Flynn, the silent movie stars Harry Myers as Yankee Martin Cavendish, who following reading Twain’s novel…

Thinking about that line in the new twisters movie: “you don’t face your fears, you ride them”
And as a horror/slasher fan that is just a sentiment I can really get behind-

My favorite film directed and performed by Charles Chaplin - "City Lights" (1931)
"Wandering the city streets, the Little Tramp happens upon a blind flower girl who mistakes him for a rich man. The Tramp later saves a drunken millionaire who is attempting to drown himself in the river. The millionaire becomes his best friend. That is, until he sobers up and no longer recognizes the Tramp… In City Lights, friendship and social ranking are not always as they seem. We enter a world of a disenchanted bourgeoisie, where a tramp is king and a blind girl, queen." (X)
Cast: Charlie Chaplin, Virginia Cherrill, Florence Lee, Harry Myers, Hank Mann, Eddie Baker, Allan Garcia, Henry Bergman, Albert Austin, Joe Van Metter, Robert Parrish, Charlie Hammond, Tiny Ward, Mrs. Hyams, Harry Ayers, Florence Wicks, Jean Harlow...
/The full cast of the film is 59 actors and extras./
Production :United Artists
This film was Charlie Chaplin's most labor-intensive film - it took him almost four years to shoot, from December 31, 1927 to January 22, 1931. However, the shooting itself took only 180 days. The film was shot in Los Angeles and San Francisco (California, USA).
This is Chaplin's first film in the sound era. The director himself faced great pressure to give it full sound - but he managed to leave it silent, apart from the music recorded for it. At that time, all films were made with dialogue.
The link contains information about the filming of the movie "City Light's" : (X)
