I have finished my PIP Renewal and I can't honestly describe just how petrified I feel. I did my best but I am not sure what more I can say. I have copied it for my records. I was fortunate the first time when I applied three years ago. Many people who have transferred from DLA or Disability Living Allowance have not been so lucky. And some of those people are people I even know. Their livelihood basically taken away. My dear friend Garry lost his car, all his Benefits including ESA (Employment support allowance) very soon after his wife's funeral. My father lost all of his benefits too, he is apparently deemed capable we'll both of these gents have been. Trust me they are far from indeed. I am extremely grateful for having this PIP because it has enabled me to have a car, and I have a new one coming, it has helped me with blue badges and even allowing me to have an acting carer attend events with me like the cinema, or concerts. It is also with consideration that many of us have low incomes too which it honestly makes life that little easier to bear. We have to jump through hoops for doctors and the DWP for our benefits that literally help us be and feel more independent. Well now I've posted this envelope and now I will wait nervously to either be continued, reduced or declined, or reassessed. Well I will fight as much as I can. And I don’t have carpel tunnel!! 👍🏻 who knew? EVERYONE!!! 🙄 It’s one of those bizarre NHS things that after injuring my neck and having some issues with the nerves going to my hand I was sent for a nerve conduction study (the test for carpel tunnel) when what I actually need is an MRI! It’s good to rule out carpel tunnel of course but it was a waste of NHS resources EVERYONE knew I didn’t have carpel tunnel including me and I’m not a doctor! The problem is I’m rare and the doctor that ordered the test didn’t understand how the mechanism of injury could cause such problems it’s cause and effect and it makes no sense unless you think about the faulty collagen and my fragile connective tissues. I injured my neck severely just sitting up in bed and that’s not ‘normal’ I get that!
