I was 13 when I first dislocated my ribs, I was told it was impossible by Doctors. Since then I've found its a common occurrence in EDSers. I now have one rib that lays almost complete flat ontop of another from the frequent dislocations. - black acrylic on paraffin wax.

A lot of doctors today consider Hypermobility Syndrome to come under EDS - some say its the same thing just less symptomatic. Its worth looking into hEDS stuff like @thebibliosphere​ says. I also have hEDS so am available if you need more help - I’ve even written a quick help guide for people in the past for some small pain relief and basic living tips. I don’t know where you are in the world but in the uk we have the charity EDSuk which also covers hypermobile spectrum disorders - check if you have an equivalent or a branch of it near you. Their symbol is a zebra. Very helpful for getting grounded in the reality of your condition and often there with great advice on how to make your own life easier.

Went to a rheumatologist today. Confirmed hypermobility, possibly fibromyalgia. Fun stuff, chronic pain.

Anyone know people dealing with this? The only person I know of who's got something similar is @thebibliosphere but Joy's got it way worse and I'm not sure how much of what she deals with applies to me.

I'm just complaining at this point because it's not like there's anything else I can do about it.

Today I’m wearing my stripes, promoting the Zebra. I also took part in a BCU event ‘Distinct- Defining differences’; BCU media students held the event. I gave a talk about EDS and the Zebra. The ‘Distinct’ was a great way to express diversity in its many different forms. This was my first time talking about Ehlers-Danlos syndrome to a large group. I loved that another student said they have a zebra skirt, and will be wearing it, promoting EDS. A number of students took the EDSUK leaflets too. It’s nice to think that I increased awareness if even in a small way. :)
