when he as wondering why damain cray was insane and he immediately assumed porn

when he gave a pitbull 6 sleeping pills cut inside of a steak (his entire escape plan hinged on this working) (this somehow worked)

when he and the K unit guys went on that nasty hike and they were being dicks and he was so Fed Up that he just threw a book of matches at them and left

Julius Grief as a character is so fascinating for me. Like, so much unexplored potential there. Did he know that day that Jack wasn't being killed so it was just a joke to him????

His accent??? Afrikaans-german-ish with french lilt? The fact that he thought that he could gel in with the big bad by drinking.....beer? And it works—

That time in prison where he tried peeling his face off? The heavily implied sexual assault by that one creepy guy in nightshade?

The shoddy welding job on purpose? Beginnings of the escape plan?

Being trained to be a literal genius?

The possibilities were endless

I just realised something.

Julius Grief was originally meant to kill and replace Alex in Point Blanc, but the COMPLETE OPPOSITE HAPPENS.

Alex kills Julius in Scorpia Rising and ends up replacing him in Nightshade at Gilbraltar.

Ok, so I think I just had a realization. In the fight between Julius and Alex they were almost face to face. In a gun fight, that is termed at 'in point blank range'.

this is a self indulgent post because i doubt anyone would get it but hyyh taejin reminds me of alex and julius from alex rider a bit. what if we were narrative foils and we were the only people who truly saw each other for who we are and who we could be. what if we both had convoluted relationships with our fathers and the struggle to live up to their expectations vs rejecting them wholly even though both routes just lead to a self fulfilling prophecy. what if we began narratively opposed and yet came to fulfil each others roles in the end coming full circle on our doppleganger/mirror imagery. what if- [GUNSHOTS]
