From the museum about the work-

Based in Los Angeles, Sayre Gomez often employs techniques borrowed from Hollywood set painting and commercial advertising to heighten the sense of lifelikeness in his paintings. In 3 Oracles, Gomez’s depiction of a vacant big-box store renders the shifting forces of the consumer economy in exacting, photo-realistic detail. The three appliance brands represented on the store’s façade, DieHard, Craftsman, and Kenmore, were all formerly owned by Sears Corporation, a retail giant that filed for bankruptcy in 2018.

Gomez recently co-curated the Feed the Streets Benefit Show at Sebastian Gladstone in Los Angeles. The opening is tomorrow evening (7/13) from 6-9pm and the exhibition will be on view until 8/3/24.

All proceeds benefit Feed the Streets and their ongoing mission of colecting donated food, hygiene products, clothing, and educational items for hand to hand distribution in Los Angeles and New York. Feed the Streets also provides athletic and creative resources for underserved youth.

La carismática Sara Hebe continúa presentando las canciones de su último álbum “Sucia Estrella” el día el sábado 9 de marzo a las 19:00hs en el Teatro Flores (Av. Rivadavia 7806).

Sara Hebe es sin dudas una de las referentes principales del rap, sus derivados y la música urbana del país. Inició su carrera de la mano del hip hop, la cumbia y el dancehall, pero nunca ha dejado de cruzar géneros como el baile funk, el reggaetón, el punk rock y hasta el drum & bass. A lo largo de los años, Sara Hebe ha colaborado con artistas como Chulimane, Proyecto Gomez Casa, Chancha Via Circuito, Rosario Ortega, Kumbia Queers, Fémina, Tremenda Jauría (Madrid), Mafalda (Valencia), Villa Diamante, Mi$$il, EsLaBrava, entre otrxs. También tiene como costumbre invitar a artistas emergentes a abrir sus fechas para impulsar y consolidar la escena de la música independiente autogestiva de Sudamérica para el mundo.

Sara Hebe empezó a componer en 2007 de manera autodidacta, creando letras y melodías sobre ritmos producidos por beat- makers independientes. De esos bocetos salió su primer disco “La hija del loco”, editado a fines de 2009, con excelente repercusión del público y la crítica. En 2012 lanzó “Puentera”; con colaboraciones de Sergio Sandoval, entre otres artistes. Su tercer disco, “Colectivo Vacío”, salió en 2015 y es un viaje esquizofrénico por el hip hop y otros sonidos, pero siempre con su poesía y su imparable versatilidad para rapear. En 2019, la artista lanzó “Politicalpari”, un disco con once canciones explosivas. Finalmente, para inicios del 2022 Sara presentó su más reciente disco titulado “Sucia Estrella”, un LP que cuenta con colaboración de Ana Tijoux, The Colorated, Sassyggirl y Rattlesnakke y está formado por 14 tracks bien diversos en cuestiones musicales, donde su lírica se fue ampliando a otros temas como al amor, al sexo, la industria, la estética y a situaciones que nos atraviesan día a día. En este disco, el segundo que hace convocando a varios productores, se le atreve no sólo al dancehall, rap y reggaetton sino que se le fue animando al trap hardcore, pop, hard tech, afr beat y a la fusión con otros estilos como el tekno. Presentó su disco por Europa, Argentina y múltiples países de habla hispana como Bolivia, Colombia, Chile y México. En septiembre del 2022 fue elegida por la prestigiosa radio estadounidense KEXP, con base en Seattle, para grabar una sesión en vivo en el marco del programa KEXP LIVE From Argentina. La sesión se transmitió en vivo desde el dial de la radio y se publicó para todo el mundo en su canal de Youtube.

Sara Hebe ganó el Martin Fierro por su canción “El Marginal”, cortina de la exitosa serie televisiva, por la misma canción también fue ganadora en premios Tato y premios Democracia. El Festival Latinoamericano de La Plata (FESAALP) le otorgó el premio a mejor videoclip por Teta.

Ha lanzado 5 discos de estudio y a lo largo de su carrera ha realizado feats con Juliana Gattas, Sol Pereyra, Diosque, Manuel Matarasso e Intendente, entre otrxs artistas de Argentina. Ha participado de los festivales más importantes del país como Lollapalooza, Cosquín Rock, Rock en Baradero, Buena Vibra, así también ha realizado giras por todo el país, Europa y América Latina.

Dwayne Johnson : The good meaning but somewhat neglectful father of Adi. She went to live with him fully when she turned 12. He has gotten remarried to a woman, Juliana, 6 years ago who Adi gets along with, though it does make her mother jealous. 

Gabrielle De Silva : Adi’s mom, a French designer who demands perfection from both her career and her daughter (the only one who she acknowledges). Gabrielle is often seen as calculated and cruel, she does what she wants herself; often with no thought what it will do to those around her. She used her daughter to promote her fashion line and is often critical of her weight and her relationship with her father’s side. While she's often is absent from her daughters life, only occasionally calling or texting, she only agreed to let Arianna attend Van Der Wulff with  the condition she spend the summer in France and get back to modeling. Nina Johnson : Adi’s half-sister from her dad’s side and twin to Wayde, affectionally called Broster because of her body building prowess. They get along pretty well Nina, teaching Adi to fight and Adi teaching Nina confidence. She is a winner of plenty of body building competitions.

Lucian Morningstar : Patriarch to the Morningstar Clan a notorious mafia family (though he does own a string of hotel chains) and father to the Morningstar family. He easily taking custody of Damien which enraged her and he got her committed to a psychiatric facility. She was diagonosed as having bipolar disorder and had been medicated since. She was released and resides in Zienna Vista, a few towns over from Ashford where Van Der Wulff is held. Since she's been released, she has made quiet a name for herself, using her connections from her former boyfriend (Lucian) to create her own human & drug trafficking empire. She is a drug dealer and the employer of the local drug dealers in town, including Fezco among others.

Glenn Bradshaw : Fell in love with Bethany and is her perfect cover for her doings. They have a big house because he works in a big corporation as an accountant (its really due to her). He turns a blind eye to all she does, however, he does want Damien to forge a relationship with his mother. 

Sebastian Osborne : the first true son of Lucian, however Lucian doesn’t trust he has what it takes to run it since his mother passed. Hes a bit troubled but looks out for Damien. Though he is moody but dashing and is one of the only ones who stand up to his fathers dark ways so in a way Lucian does respect him. 

Damien Thorne : considered by Lucian to be his first son. Has an extremely complicated relationship with both his parents, though he does love his siblings. His favorite being Lucy who he often visits and calls. 

Stephan James : Considered by his father to be “a waste of potential”. It is clear Stephen is not his fathers favorite though he has no choice but to live with him. After all, Stephan knows his father killed his mother but what can he do? Without his father, he’d be an orphan. And he doesn’t really like his siblings, whether it be jealously or hate. He doesn’t know. 

Jude Ellis : If there was a sibling that was the opposite of his fathers wants it would be Jude. He is sweet, funny and kind. Originally born with the signature Morningstar dark hair, he dyed it blonde shortened his name from its original Judas - to Jude. He has no want to be in the mafia his father set up, though he knows he has no choice. In fact, hes going to school for Law hoping he can do some good before he has to fully commit to being in the family. 

Wesley Barker : Another disppointment in his fathers eyes, Wesley originally wanted to be a poet or scholar. Though his mother humored his poetry his father got custody of him and started to train him to work in his many casinos. Using the boys gift with math.

Nicolas Robertson : desperate for his fathers love, whatever Nick does its for his fathers love. Wants to take over the family but knows he can’t kill for it. Because family is important according to his father - so how can he do it?

Sylvester Weaver : he has a lot of unresolved anger due to his upbringing and years of familial neglect, therefore he can be violent and impulsive. He takes amusement in provoking fights and has a short temper and can sometimes insult people whenever he feels offended or belittled. He does not like being bossed around or told what is best for him, especially if he feels strongly opposed to it. He can show a playful side, being charismatic and flirtatious. He gets a kick out of openly doing it in front of other women's significant others. Overall, he is a thrill-seeker and often has questionable motives when appearing to show a different side to him.

Abbadon Hurst : Like Nick wants to be in the family more, and looks up to Damien about it. He is calm and collected but like his brother Sylvester (who is his second favorite) can easily show violent tendencies. He has no qualms in choking someone out or beating someone for his father. Though he can be reckless, harsh and foolish at times. He means well and tried to write his wrongs when he does make them.

Lucy Morningstar : The princess of the family. She is spoiled and an odd child. Quiet, preferring to watch, she truly is her fathers child being a complete observer. She analyzes people and is quite good at it for an 8 year old. She can be scary, considering how much influence she has with Lucian. though some of her siblings resent her for her close relationship with her father. 

The Morrose Family

Angelette & Raphael Morrose: The sweet first children of the Morroses. They attended law school together and have both specialized in Humanitarian Law and often travels to many countries together working on cases of genocide, war crimes or human rights violations. They also run a massive amount of charities. 

Uriel Morrose : A surgeon working in the town, he might be a little bit odd but he is insanely smart and Kitty is his favorite sister. It’s her who he shares a house with, although he is barely home really, only to sleep.

Ophelia Morrose : An artist / Model that lives in France. Kade and her get along since she considers herself to be less like her family then the others. She is less concerned with the well being of others and more about herself - not to be selfish but realistic. 

Evangeline & Nathaniel Morrose : the loving parents of 8 Morrose children they concern themselves with bettering the world and have numerous charities under their belt. 

Kade Morrose : The black sheep of the family. Has to be the opposite of almost every member of his family. While they are loving and warm, he is cold and manipulating. Often moody but observant, Kade often scares his twin at what he is capable of but Kitty wants to better him even if he does worry her. 

Gabriel & Parisa : The youngest siblings of Kitty. Gabriel and Parisa look up to Kitty and when she comes home they are the first to greet her. Though both of them are scared of Kade especially when he came home a few days after halloween last year with bloodied clothes in a bag he ordered them to bury deep in the backyard. He said he would hurt them if they ever told so to this day they've stayed quiet. 

The Joker / Quinzel Family

The Joker : The Clown Prince of Crime, leader of the Mafia family THE PLAYHOUSE. Wanted a family after his then wife, Harley annoyingly insisted. He in fact adopted 10 children, and after a series of tests of course where they kids were traumatized and two came out as his favorites. The two, who he affectionally nicknamed, Ace and Happy had a rough childhood. Often witnesses to his violent outbursts, manipulations and psychosis. However, he does have love for his children despite not being able to show it in the best way. Though it wasn’t all bad, they did have good moments. Joker, teaching Kay to play and always win at card games and often build contraptions with robin. Even when he killed, he often peppered it with “Look, lots of dads are serial killers. I'm not gonna change who I am, I just got a better reason to kill; I am in love!” However when Harley split and they wanted to go to her, he felt it a betrayal and is part of the reason they were taken away. 

Harley Quinzel : The Harlequin of Hate and the former Matriarch and partner of Joker. While the joker could be cold and psychotic, Harley was warm and loving - most of the time. She often protected the kids and she was the true reason they were kept vs the other 8 he adopted. They were her favorite. She of course taught them the things she knows, thievery, knife throwing, acrobatics and fighting. But when she wanted to leave the joker she took the kids in the middle of the night and went to flee to their home in Italy. However, when J was tipped off he followed them. This turned into a major blowout causing him to try and hang Harley from the balcony and poisoned the kids, Harley wound up stabbing Mister J. Eventually the police were called - and the kids were taken away from them when she was 10 and he was 12. Souring the relationship with their father permanently. 

Robin Hemlock : Kay’s adopted brother. They’ve been through a lot together growing up and are close, they saved each other from a lot when they were younger. While in their teenage years, they drifted apart a bit. They were split up between family members by the judge in charge of their case “in hopes they can live a regular life.” They were told not to contact each other (or Joker and Harley in the years they were separated but constantly broke the rules even getting into this school together finally reunited. 

Stefani Miyuki & Daniel Miyuki : Harley’s sister and her husband. They took Kay in shuffling her between US, Italy and Japan. Like Harley they spoiled her. Like Harley, Stefani is a free-spirit letting Kay, figure out life herself like she was encouraged too. Daniel on the other hand is more strict and is secretly afraid she will end up like her parents, especially that Robin is back in her life. Both are happy she ended up at Van Der Wulff and want her as far away from her adopted parents as possible.

Clyde Quinzel : Harley’s unhinged brother and the man that took Robin in. He was tough, but not as tough as the joker. Although when Robin angered him he showed Robin what his true mom was and what she did or sometimes he would berate him because he was scared he would be like the Joker. Though he did help cover up when he drowned that boy. It was hard living with him but he was proud of him getting into the school. 

The Arrabah Family

Karna Arrabah : father to the Arrabah children and is in charge of the entire Arrabah family. He often worries about his children well being and is strictly anti-drug. Ironic, considering the reason they got their vast fortune is from early century opioid trade. He is scared his kids will get involved in it seeing as it killed his uncles and own father and grandfather. This often makes him come off as overbearing and harsh but he just wants the best for his kids.

Kurt Mendes : the tough fighter pilot / The Saviors leader on the east coast. He is a great leader, building the empire that is The Saviors into the gigantic superpower it is today. He left his oldest son to run the west coast while keeping his daughter, Sarah on the east coast with him. He put both his other sons, Mark and Cal through school in hopes to get them to make them seem legit as possible. While he is a good leader, he is a pretty shit father. He was neglectful and mean spirited. Only having kids because he wanted an heir. He’s not much of a better grandparent either, ignoring or berating his grandchildren under the guise it will make them stronger. 

Judith Mayron : Foul-mouthed and tough as nails. Judith is the type of person you think of when a person says a mob wife. She reeks of 1970s rich woman. Despite her outward apperence she is funny and sweet a bit like Big Ang. Though her married life was tough, Kurt cheating on her through there whole marriage and mistreating the kids. She often came to her children's aid and is a really great mom. So much so Sarah and Mark decided to change their name to hers in order to more distance themselves from their father. 

Sarah Mayron : Kurt’s heir to his east coast empire. Sarah is much like her mother though tends to think through things a bit more. She gets along with her siblings pretty well and acts as the leeway between her brothers and her father. 

Mark Mayron : the youngest legitimate son of Kurt. he was trained to be a cop that way Kurt would always have a man on the inside and he is high ranking being protected by all the other cops who are corrupted. He is in an unhappy marriage which is why he thinks he cheated on his wife with Adi. But the reality is, he fell in love with her. Which is hard for him since she is his best friends daughter, though he never wanted to get her involved in his darker life. Though he knows Dwayne would never forgive him he doesn’t want it to be over. It took him a long time to admi9t it but his in love with her, which makes it even more complicated that his nephew is also in love with her. 

Negan Mendes : Oldest child and leader of the west coast saviors. Negan is a charismatic, cocky, manipulative, brutal, and ferocious man with a sarcastic, inappropriate sense of humor. he is a brilliant strategist and a strong, effective leader, having kept hundreds of people alive and is worshipped by many and feared by others. he is shown to have had complete control over his vast group and was questioned by no one, acting as a complete dictator. he is also an extremely ruthless leader, willing to do whatever it takes to make sure they stay on top. he is shown to be a cold-blooded killer who kills not just for survival, but to send a message. He also has no respect to those he views as being weak, thats why he often calls Shawn out. On the other hand, Negan has great respect for those he views as strong, both physically and emotionally, and those who show bravery and defiance against him. 

Ellia Mendes : The bubbly (slightly annoying) younger adopted sister of Shawn. She was Negans answer to finding someone like Sarah to help Shawn run his empire. She was sent away to school, Negan wanted to give her a sort of normal childhood seeing how Shawn turned out and sent her away to boarding school in England. she occasionally comes to visit and he sends her things. 

Simon Ogg : Simon is a ruthless, brutal, unpredictable, and articulate man with a sadistic and unnerving sense of humor, and is considered even by Negan too violent and "psychotic". He has displayed extreme loyalty to his leader, and as such is highly valued and trusted by him. Like Negan, Simon is not beyond using fear and intimidation to achieve his ends and is a remorseless, cold-blooded mass murderer and is not at all bothered by the excessive violence that the Saviors employ.  As the second highest-ranking member of the Saviors and right hand man of Negan, Simon held a large amount of power surpassed only by Negan himself, and also seemed to be a very capable leader. In spite of being Negan's most loyal follower, it is gradually revealed that the two drastically differ in their views on how to deal with disloyalty and defiance on the part of their subjugated communities. He does harbor jealously of Negan and soon finds himself attracted to and attached to Kay when she starts seeing Negan.

Cal Jacobs : the adopted son of Kurt. When his sister died, Kurt adopted her son. Cal runs a relate business for million dollar homes which the savoirs can launder money though. Though due to his sexual preferences his son Nate was able to get him jailed for underage tapes of him. 

Nate Jacobs : Nate always wanted a father like Negan and took his father down to take over his business to prove himself to his uncle. Nate is an extremely selfish, abusive and possessive person. He is downright sociopathic. He abused Maddy multiple times without showing any form of regret, he manipulates people to get what he wants and he is willing to physically hurt or kill someone if it benefits him. Insecurity about his sexuality makes him develop a toxic masculine persona that hides his sinister nature.
