Have y'all seen this bullshit of the day?
"In a major reprieve for former President Donald Trump, sentencing for his hush money convictions was postponed Tuesday until at least September — if ever — as the judge agreed to weigh the possible impact of a new Supreme Court ruling on presidential immunity." This from the AP
Omg I'm beyond pissed off! In my opinion the judge could of sentenced the orange tube of shit and worry about all SCOTUS bullshit later!
Also Trump isn't the President any longer so this new immunity should no longer apply to him. Unless their making the ruling covering all President's past, present and future. Which SCOTUS needs to be fucking clear about!
I think the judge, Juan Merchan is just being a scared little bitch and not doing his job. By not sentencing that useless narcissistic bastard, he basically thinks he got away with it again, which thanks to Supreme Court he did. Which is going to make him even more emboldened to get away with anything he wants.
The President just like all of us must be held up to the letter of the law. A President cannot be above it. Now however the Supreme Court has destroyed that by making a President a King. Which is against everything our country stands for.

Today on Courtin' TV [tm] Parking garage lawyer insists that random means their guy only gets the judge they want. Mentions that steve bannon [baron harkonnen stand-in] got the same judge as the former guy. "and random doesn't work that way, it's supposed to be random." I listened to the audio. Reminded me of how a four year old would explain the rules of the game you're going to play.

Ol' Snarky Is Back!
I’m not sure why, but I feel a bit snarky tonight, and fortunately I am not lacking material on which to direct my snark! Well, on Monday Donald Trump’s election interference trial began, despite Trump’s numerous attempts to delay the process.  Predictably, selecting a jury is tedious and time-consuming.  If you think about it, who among us hasn’t formed a strong opinion, pro or con, about…

Donald Trump Arraignment Judge Under Scrutiny
New Post has been published on https://www.timesofocean.com/donald-trump-arraignment-judge-under-scrutiny/
Donald Trump Arraignment Judge Under Scrutiny
Tumblr media
New York (The Times Groupe) – Former U.S. Donald Trump’s hush money case in New York is being scrutinized by Judge Juan Merchan over a $35 payment he made to Biden’s administration. BIDEN
The information had raised questions about Merchan’s impartiality as he has come under attack by the former president as a “Trump-hating judge.”
According to reports, the New York Judge donated $15 to Joe Biden’s presidential campaign as part of his donations to Democrats in 2020.
Elie Honig, a CNN legal analyst and former federal prosecutor, explained the significance of the revelation.
“While the amounts here are minimal, it’s surprising that a sitting judge would make political donations of any size to a partisan candidate or cause,” Honig said.
In July 2020, Merchan donated three times through ActBlue, an internet fundraising tool for Democrat candidates and causes.
The judge had been made $15 to the Biden campaign and two other $10 donations, one to the Progressive Turnout Project, a group that encourages voter turnout, and the other to Stop Republicans, a group that is affiliated with the Progressive Turnout Project.
According to Stephen Gillers, a professor of legal ethics at New York University, New York has adopted language from the American Bar Association Model Code of Judicial Conduct that forbids judges from “soliciting funds for, paying an assessment to, or making a contribution to a political organization or candidate.”
“The contribution to Biden and possibly the one to ‘Stop Republicans’ would be forbidden unless there is some other explanation that would allow them,” Gillers said.
According to the professor, given the minimal sums, the donations “would be viewed as trivial.” He claimed that the state’s Commission on Judicial Conduct would remind the judge of the guidelines in the event of a complaint.
As a result, allies of the former president are urging the judge to recuse himself from the case as a result of the contributions.

Trump Gagged? No Way! - 04/03/2024
The New York supreme court judge Juan Merchan in Trump's "hush money" case has expanded on his earlier gag order which tried to restrict what Trump could publicly say about the case. The order came late yesterday which gags the former president from speaking in public about Manhattan D.A. Alvin Brag's family members and all others named including jurors, potential jurors, counsel, court staff, witnesses, and their families. The judge wrote, “This pattern of attacking family members of presiding jurists and attorneys assigned to his cases serves no legitimate purpose, it merely injects fear in those assigned or called to participate in the proceedings that not only they, but their family members as well, are ‘fair game,’ for Defendant’s vitriol.” He further wrote that courts are "understandably concerned" on restricting defendants' free speech, especially for those who are publicly notable. He further wrote, “The circumstances of the instant matter, however, are different. The conventional ‘David vs. Goliath’ roles are no longer in play as demonstrated by the singular power defendant’s words have on countless others.” In his ruling arguments he cited from the prosecution, “multiple potential witnesses have already raised grave concerns [...] about their own safety and that of their family members should they appear as witnesses against the defendant.” On those fears he wrote that they would "undoubtedly interfere" with the proceedings, and he continued. “The average observer, must now, after hearing defendant’s recent attacks, draw the conclusion that if they become involved in these proceedings, even tangentially, they should worry not only for themselves, but for their loved ones as well.” State prosecutor Matthew Colangelo wrote, “Defendant’s dangerous, violent, and reprehensible rhetoric fundamentally threatens the integrity of these proceedings and is intended to intimidate witnesses and trial participants alike—including this Court.” The state attorney's office was referencing Trump's remarks about the judge's daughter.
This judge, Juan Merchan, is compromised with a serious case of Trump Derangement Syndrome, and Trump's lawyers think he should recuse himself from the case because his daughter, Loren Merchan who owns a Democrat political consulting firm, heavily profited from her fundraisers dedicated to hurt and remove Trump from the political scene. The judge's wife, Lara Merchan, used to work for New York Attorney General Letitia James, who prosecuted Trump for a victimless crime of "over valuating" his property to get a more favorable loan, and to which he paid back fully with interest that made Duetsche Bank (no complaints) a lot of money. Another ridiculous, unconstitutionally brought case, which, like all the others, is nothing more than political persecution. Judge Juan Merchan's profile picture on X was of Donald Trump behind bars. I think it's fair to say that this judge is compromised, or as Trump would say, "by a lot!"
Of course, the mainstream media's talking point's echoe-chamber put out that Trump made threatening remarks about the judge's daughter, when in fact he did no such thing. One of his Truth Social posts reads, “Judge Juan Merchan, a very distinguished looking man, is nevertheless a true and certified Trump Hater who suffers from a very serious case of Trump Derangement Syndrome. In other words, he hates me! His daughter is a senior executive at a Super Liberal Democrat firm that works for Adam ‘Shifty’ Schiff, the Democrat National Committee, Senate Majority PAC, and even Crooked Joe Biden.”
As I have said before, I think all of these cases against Trump should be dismissed and thrown out, as they are obviously political witch hunts directed by Biden's crooked administration and their weaponized justice department. So, Trump appropriately calls them the "Biden trials." The left thinks they can stop him from coming back to DC, and this judge thinks he can silence him, to keep him from pointing out all of the obvious corruption in that's clearly in plain sight for anyone with a functioning brain to see; --No Way! No Way! - will they ever silence or stop him, and No Way! - will they ever silence or stop us, we the people. Trump is right when he declares these trials as being "election interference," and that they should never, ever take place in the United States of America: abso-futting-lutely; -- No Way!

Trump's Hush Money Case: Judge Delays Sentencing Amid Presidential Transition
Trump’s Hush Money Case: Judge Delays Sentencing A New York judge confirmed on Friday that President-elect Donald Trump will not be sentenced this month on 34 criminal counts related to a hush money case that concluded earlier this summer. There's too much publicity, he said in front of cameras, and posted on truth unsocial, and put on his website, and had his spokespeople announce. "Merchan wrote that the ex-president himself “was personally responsible for generating much, if not most, of the surrounding publicity with his public statements” outside those courtrooms and on social media." Motion denied. That's four this week. Gonna be Shouty Sunday.

Tomorrow's The Day -- Will Justice Or Chaos Reign?
Well, tomorrow is the big day … the day when “the Donald” will have to appear in court to answer charges that he falsified and misused campaign funds to pay off a woman, Stephanie Clifford (aka ‘Stormy Daniels’) in order to keep her from telling the truth about an affair she had with Trump in 2006, shortly after Trump’s wife, Melania, had given birth to his son, Barron.  This is the first of his…

Martin Pengelly at The Guardian:
A New York appeals court judge has rejected former President Donald Trump’s request to delay his 15 April hush-money criminal trial while he fights to move the case out of Manhattan. The decision came Monday, a week before jury selection was set to start. Trump’s lawyers had argued at an emergency hearing that the trial should be postponed while they seek a change of venue to move it out of heavily Democratic Manhattan. Trump was ready on Monday to sue the judge in his New York hush-money case a week before the start of the much-anticipated trial, the New York Times reported, detailing yet another attempt by the former president to delay legal proceedings against him.
Citing court records indicating the filing of sealed documents and two unnamed sources with knowledge of the matter, the paper said the aim was to delay trial and challenge a gag order imposed by the judge. “Mr Trump’s unorthodox move – essentially an appeal in the form of a lawsuit – is unlikely to succeed, particularly so close to trial,” the paper said. Facing 34 criminal charges related to hush-money payments to Stormy Daniels, an adult film star who claimed an affair with him, Trump has pleaded not guilty. He has repeatedly attacked the judge in the case, Juan Merchan, and members of his family, alleging political bias. The trial is set for Manhattan next Monday and will be the first criminal trial involving a former US president.
Trump, the Times said, was also expected to ask an appeals court to move the trial out of Manhattan, his home borough before his post-presidency move to Florida but a heavily Democratic area. That gambit was also deemed unlikely to succeed.
[...] Trump faces 54 other criminal charges: 40 in Florida, over his retention of classified information after leaving office, and 14 over his attempt to overturn the 2020 election – 10 in Georgia and four in Washington DC. Trump also faces multimillion-dollar penalties in two civil cases, both in New York, one concerning tax fraud and the other for defamation arising from a rape allegation a judge called “substantially true”. Denying all wrongdoing and claiming political persecution, Trump is attempting to delay all cases against him until after the presidential election in November. If he were to defeat Joe Biden and return to the White House, he could ensure the dismissal of federal charges in the classified information case and in four charges of election subversion. State charges would be tougher to deal with.
Judge Juan Manuel Merchan quashed 88x indicted Donald Trump's bid to delay the start of the New York v. Trump hush money/election interference criminal trial that is set to start next week. Trump is also seeking a venue change out of Manhattan, but likely won't be granted that request.
