did you finish the first two eps of peak time? what did u think abt the project group 24:00 idea? i think it's interesting but i'm worried that whatever praise or success they get will be blamed on favoritism 😖....
it was nice to get to watch a jtbc show with subs for once lol their shows are always so positive and encouraging ❤️ and it always seems like everyone has good attitudes and good sportsmanship bc they're all so passionate abt their craft <3 it makes it so enjoyable to watch instead of stressful
yes!!! i don't really....have many thoughts about 24's idea tbh. it's def the best way to encorporate all the soloists although honestly they could have just had jongup be group 24 by himself and it would have been fine lol. i'm also not really sure how they would get favouritism...? i don't really understand, like do you mean from the judges/show bc they put the group together? arguably some of the judges ALREADY showed favouritism towards at least one of the other groups unjustifiably so i don't really see how they could moreso with a group that has three dudes (i forgot who the other two are) who've been idols for 5+ years each and ARE talented. or do you mean that they'll be perceived as getting favouritism by viewers bc of how jongup was framed on the show? which i guess might come up, but he doesn't have the fanbase that the show made it seem like he does; if anything he should not need to be there at all but he's getting paid dust rn. i think i might be trying to apply too much logic here lol esp bc survival show fans are not a particularly logical sort.
but yes it is SO nice to finally be able to watch a jtbc show with subs and the way they structure their shows is so good bc it allows for evenhanded criticism. but my favourite part of jtbc shows is that you can tell they're made by people who have a deep love of the arts. superband is very much about loving music and just from the way the first episodes have gone i can see that peak time is likely to be the same. esp given how everyone reacted to vanner!!! most idol-based survival shows don't really allow or show the fact that a lot of idols do like to perform and make music and are generally supportive of each other, so it's really nice to see :))))))
#personally i cant think of a reason why any praise 24 would get would be undeserved bc jongup is at the LEAST the second best dancer there#like other than if they somehow totally fail to mesh as a group and do a dogshit job but still make it to the next round#i said i had no thoughts but now i'm thinking too much about this alskjdflkasdjflkdsaf#jtbc shows vs mnet shows are art vs celebrity if i were to boil it down very far#like mnet and most survival shows really play into the desperation of wanting to debut/be successful#but they almost never show idols actually LIKING and WANTING to make art#watching people care and love what they are doing is a so much more enjoyable experience than watching ppl be stressed constantly#peak time#jtbc peak time#answers#text

I'LL-IT: The New Aesthetic GG ⋆。゚☁︎。⋆。 ゚☾
I'LL-IT a new Korean Girl Group from BE:LIFT LAB, a subsidiary company by HYBE is a 5 membered girl group that was formed by the idol survival show called R U NEXT? which was created by HYBE and JTBC. They debut on March 25, 2024 with their mini album "𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐞𝐫 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐥 𝐌𝐞" with 4 tracks: My World, Magnetic, Midnight Fiction and Lucky Girl Syndrome.
I’ll-it should be a 6 membered girl group but Yongseo leave the group and terminated her exclusive contract on the agency before the group debuted. Let us wish Yongseo a good luck on her endeavors.
Meet the members:
❀ 𝐍𝐎𝐇 𝐘𝐔𝐍𝐀𝐇 ❀
Looks familiar? I know. She looks like SOLAR of Mamamoo. I saw videos of Yunah from R U NEXT? since I am not a fan of idol survival shows, I observed her star-factor. She was born to be an idol. She's good at both singing and dancing with her low tone voice, which is rare for female idols. Here is my opinion, Yunah will be good as an idol but I do not think she is fit with the Y2K aesthetic concept of I'll-It. Another reason why the crowd's fave like Chanelle, Jiwoo and Jeemin did not make it is because they do not fit the concept of I'LL-IT, but it does not mean that they are not equally talented as the ones who debuted. I just hope they debut too as an idol with the concept fitting to them where they can showcase their talents more.
My Given Position to Yunah: ❀ Sub Vocalist ❀ Lead Dancer ❀ Leader - she is the leader of I'll-it, Be:Lift confirmed it already. I think she is gonna be a good leader.
✿ 𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐊 𝐌𝐈𝐍𝐉𝐔 ✿
If she sounds familiar it is because her voice is soft and high like Rose of Blackpink. No hate for Minju please!!! But her voice is so good that I always root for her in her performances. Not only she has a good voice but she is also good at rapping and dancing. An ace for the group. Her voice fits the concept of I'll-it very well.
My Given Position to Minju: ✿ Main Vocalist ✿ Main Rapper ✿ Visual
❁ 𝐒𝐀𝐊𝐀𝐈 𝐌𝐎𝐊𝐀 ❁
She's pretty whether her hair is short or long but I preferred her long hair. Moka is a Japanese idol and she has the distinctive voice of Japanese females, thin, soft and cute voice which fits the I'll-it's concept.
My Given Position for Moka: ❁ Sub Rapper ❁ Sub Vocalist ❁ Lead Dancer
𖡼 𝐋𝐄𝐄 𝐖𝐎𝐍𝐇𝐄𝐄 𖡼
Now we have a visual for 5th Gen! Wonhee receives backlash when she debuted with I'll-it since you can see on her past performances that she has blank expressions or nothing at all. We all know facial expressions are must when you are a performer. But Wonhee has a great voice, and a great hair 🎀 She became more popular in a positive light with positive comments like how shiny and healthy and her hair is and as you can see, Wonhee van be the visual of 5th Gen! In my opinion, she is the next Jennie and Wonyoung of 5th Gen. The IT Girl of 5th Gen.
My Given Position to Wonhee: 𖡼 Lead Vocalist 𖡼 Visual 𖡼 Center 𖡼 Face of the Group- she has an aura that is so fresh and young which is I'll-it's concept. 𖡼 Sub Dancer 𖡼 Lead Rapper
ꕤ 𝐇𝐎𝐊𝐀𝐙𝐎𝐍𝐎 𝐈𝐑𝐎𝐇𝐀 ꕤ
MY BIAS! Iroha is a Japanese and she her stage presence is just so good matching with her dancing skills and good voice, of course. Did you see the mole below her eye? Isn't she a beauty? ૮₍´˶• . • ⑅ ₎ა Watching her clips on R U Next? proves she has the idol-factor that the I'll-it is looking for. And look at her bangs! I thought bangs is only good for Thai Idols but it looks good on her. (♡ヮ♡)
My Given Positions to Iroha: ꕤ Main Dancer ꕤ Lead Vocals -ˋˏ ༻❁༺ ˎˊ-
I'LL-IT is often mistaken and compared to New Jeans. They have the same Y2K aesthetic, the same healthy long black hairs and minimal style of make-up, which is a must knowing a lot of them are still minors. The fresh look and concept that they bring to Kpop industry is new and hit after the worldwide and famous girl crush concept. Hybe did a great job on building fresh concepts to new Kpop idols. But I hope that it won't get I'll-it hate from the bunnies and other netizens since it is a trademark style of New Jeans. There are a lot of similarities also in their music but as I heard repeatedly both their musics, I'll-it has their own style from New Jeans.
Let us support our girls and give them love. They are young and being an idol is their dream. Let us protect them from all the hate and backlash. STREAM TO THEIR SONGS!
Let us also wait and hope for the crowd's fave who did not debut on I'll-it to be idols soon since they also deserve it. I hope their company or the company who deserves them takes care of their talents well.
(。•̀ᴗ-)✧

New girl groups to shake up K-pop scene
Story by Dong Sun-hwa
Following the dazzling success of K-pop girl groups like NewJeans, IVE, Le Sserafim and aespa, a wave of new girl groups are set to arrive this year, seeking to bring a breath of fresh air to the scene.
K-pop powerhouse HYBE, home to the Grammy-nominated boy band BTS, plans to debut a five-member group, ILLIT, on March 25. It consists of Yunah, Minju, Moka, Wonhee and Iroha — the winners from the 2023 audition show, "R U Next?" which was co-produced by HYBE and cable channel JTBC. It gathered viewers from more than 180 countries, according to HYBE.
ILLIT is the third girl group to be launched by HYBE, following NewJeans and Le Sserafim, who started their careers in 2022. But all three of them are represented by different sub-labels. ILLIT, for instance, is managed by Belift Lab, home to high-profile boy band Enhypen.
"ILLIT is the combination of the phrase, 'I will' and the word, 'it,'" HYBE said in a statement. "As its name implies, ILLIT is a group that boasts the potential to become anything it wants."
The quintet's debut album, "Super Real Me," will be released in two different versions: "Real Me" and "Super Me." HYBE Chairman Bang Si-hyuk reportedly took part in the album's creative process.
"We are so happy and thrilled to make our much-desired debut," ILLIT members said through HYBE. "We will continue to display our growth, so please give us your support and love."
The Black Label, an associate company of YG Entertainment that gave birth to K-pop sensation BLACKPINK, is also scheduled to unveil a new girl group in the first half of this year. The Black Label was founded by producer Teddy Park, who was behind the success of numerous K-pop hits such as "Whistle" (2016) and "Shut Down" (2022) by BLACKPINK.
Although The Black Label said details will be disclosed later, speculation is rife that a granddaughter of Shinsegae Group Chairwoman Lee Myung-hee — the youngest daughter of late Samsung Group founder Lee Byung-chull — will be joining the new team.
The speculation surfaced after she was spotted in a series of photos showing The Black Label's idol trainees. The pictures, which immediately went viral, also feature American model Ella Gross and dancer Bailey Sok — who crafted the choreography for girl band aespa's songs "Savage" (2021) and "Illusion" (2022) — at a place that appears to be a dance practice room.
In the fourth quarter of 2024, K-pop behemoth SM Entertainment is poised to present a new girl group, approximately four years after creating aespa in 2020. SM CEO Jang Cheol-hyuk said on YouTube in May that the label was preparing to produce a multi-member group.
Whether Na Ha-eun, a YouTube creator who signed an exclusive contract with SM in 2022, will be part of the new team is of utmost interest among K-pop fans worldwide. Na used to upload dance cover videos on her channel, "Awesome Haeun," but she is inactive these days. Her channel, however, still has more than five million subscribers.

Lol, let’s note a few things for posterity, shall we? (Repost)
Sigh. Can’t even leave here for a few days lmaooo. It really is comeback season. It’s the eve of Kendrick Lamar’s new album but I’ll just mention a few things since some of you have questions.
I’ve already written about how Kim Youngdae and others have described how Korean journalists have treated BTS and ARMYs for years. I’ve mentioned the JTBC break-in to the HYBE building, I’ve mentioned the media coverage for BTS around the time of the Burning Sun scandal, and by now it’s old news that there’s been repeated, deliberate negative coverage of BTS, especially Jimin, by Korean ‘journalists’ for the last 2 months which has intensified since BTS came back to Korea from their successful Vegas concerts. I’ve also noted how the timing is coincidentally also around the time the CEO of YG Entertainment is on trial for threatening to kill a former trainee. Link to my old post here. Lol.
Before we get to the titillating events of the last 72 hours, let’s walk a bit down memory lane. The text isn’t long but I will be posting some screenshots to help you piece things together.
*
First quick interesting tidbit. It’s interesting that the one journalist I’ll highlight today is Juwon Park, the journalist who started the latest uproar on Twitter by tagging BTS’s personal Twitter account two days ago after the Proof tracklist was revealed, demanding to know why Jimin selected Filter (a song written by Danke, a group of 3 women), one of about 8 songs in BTS’s discography made before 2020 that a man on trial for sex offences contributed to by playing guitar. The allegations against him were made almost a year after BTS worked with him and BTS have not worked with him since. Juwon Park bears no relation to another Juwon Park, a guitarist who has ALSO worked with BTS and specifically Jimin before. Same name, different people, but coincidentally tied by guitarists who have worked with BTS.
*
Juwon Park ('journalist’) started her career as a dancer for YG Entertainment (from 2011 - 2013), then got into blogging, then 'proper journalism’ in 2013 - 2014. Her coverage of BTS has always, without exception, had one thing in common. By the end of this post I’m curious to know if you’ll be able to figure out what that thing is.
When interviewing Psy for his latest comeback in April this year, she confirmed career connection to YG Entertainment:
(Psy used to work under YG Entertainment and she was a backup dancer with the same agency.)
*
A few screenshots spanning the last 4 years to show how Juwon Park describes interview events related to BTS:
(Just by the way, corporations are mandated by law to include *all* press to invited events. If HYBE wants any Korean journalists to cover an event abroad, by law they cannot pick and choose which news stations attend, they must invite all and its customary to cover the expenses as its an invited event).
*
Here’s how Juwon Park has tried to engage and solicit comments from ARMY and BTS typically over inflammatory subjects:
Note the person she sent this to is not Korean nor is she even in Korea. She’s an ARMY (one of hundreds that I can’t post since there’s an image limit on Tumblr) who Juwon has solicited comments from on every subject from enlistment to the inauguration scandal around the new president (that was shown to be false and HYBE had to release a statement to deny), to basically any controversial topic that involved BTS over the last 5 years especially. She’s been into my DMs before in early 2019 around the time of the Burning Sun scandal. I left her on read and ignored, and most ARMYs did the same. We know who this person is.
Now some will say, "why does any of this matter? She clearly has a point about BTS being associated with a sex offender and she of course does not support sex offenders." A few screenshots to show how Juwon feels about known sex offenders and/or music credited to known sex offenders who are *not connected to BTS (but almost all of whom are connected to YG Entertainment, coincidentally).
For people who might not know who Owen Ovadoz is, I’m quickly running out of space for screenshots so I’ll just link to a summary of who he is here.
*
This particular tidbit is unconnected to anything above but I think it's important you know that Juwon thinks it appropriate to ask female idols why they choose to go bra-less under their clothes when walking through an airport. She’s confirmed she’s said this to Hwasa...
Anyway, back to Juwon.
*
Even earlier this year during an especially sensitive time in Korea due to pandemic fatigue, when talking about high omicron rates in Seoul during the time a 60,000-person football event with FULL in person attendance and cheering allowed was happening (the same week), she instead highlighted BTS’s concerts which had strict restrictions, no cheering was allowed, the seats were socially distanced and only 12k people were allowed per day in a full sized stadium. But this is how she framed it lol:
···
Anyway, so almost 3 days ago now, Juwon said this:
*
Never mind that:
BTS is of course not actually working with a sex criminal. The work relationship BTS/BigHit had with Jung Bobby ended in 2019, at least a year before any allegations were first made. Jung Bobby’s connection to BTS is through about eight songs which he contributed to as a guitarist and occasionally as a lyricist. These songs include Filter, Love Maze, I’m Fine, Dream Glow, Answer: Love Myself, 134340, and a few others. Juwon Park later on asserted that Filter is written and produced entirely by Jung Bobby and that Jimin insisting on adding the song to the anthology album is an action consistent with his recent history (Jimin was in the news at the time for the missed insurance payments - in news articles written by Juwon's colleagues). Btw, Filter’s primary lyricist is Danke, a group of three women, and the song's producer is Tom Wiklund.
The Proof album is an anthology, and based on the credits for other songs so far, no previously released song has been re-written, re-credited, or even re-mastered. It’s literally a compilation of already released songs, with about 5 new songs (far as we know).
Filter is a song already in circulation without incident. So long as the song is out there, HYBE is mandated by law (KOMCA mandates and federal law) to credit any contributors.
*
Juwon Park almost immediately after posting that last SS above, received well articulated lengthy responses from ARMYs explaining all 3 points above and then some. She blocked those responses so they wouldn’t show in her threads, closed replies, then highlighted DMs from trolls - several accounts being racist to her (no that does not include saying “pussay” lol) in her screenshots had less than 5 followers and are all deactivated.
When writing a thread in English did not garner any significant response, she waited about 12 hours till around noon in Korean time, then re-published the thread in Korean, and within 10 minutes of her doing that, several Korean news outlets she frequently interacts with had retweeted it as well, by 15 mins in it had gotten over 600 retweets, nearly all from Korean k-pop stans and more Korean journalists including the same people writing the articles on Jimin for the last month. Retweets now are close to 4,000 I think, almost all in Korean and many from duplicate or dummy Korean Twitter accounts to drive up engagement. You can stroll over to her Twitter account to verify all this or just to amuse yourself.
*
A group of Korean journalists have been increasingly inciting controversy related to BTS for about 4 months now. This happens usually around comeback season but the enlistment situation has been somewhat radioactive in the last few weeks, and any criticism related to BTS and Jimin in particular, seems to catch like wildfire and is continuously stoked by K-antis and some journalists so BTS's and Jimin's reputation is tarnished. What this particular journalist wants, after seeing her try for years to find something to ding BTS on and see her act frustrated by having even no access to BTS, seems to now be trying to hurt the group by using the fandom, regardless of how stupid that idea actually is (written about this before here).
A lot of ARMYs have no illusions as to what all this is. Regardless of the outcome of this latest dumpster fire, I think BTS will be alright. And that’s all that matters here I’d say.
But anyway, Kendrick Lamar’s new album drops tomorrow! Back to being off here till then.

#Fuente: #Soompi #JungEunJi #JTBC #Idol #Singer #Dancer

@hyunubear I found where he talks about it!
JTBC Sugar Man 2 [180401]:
“Because the team of dancers had to maintain a good physique, [Lee Hyori] paid for 50 sessions in advance at a certain tanning salon in the Apgujeong neighborhood, then told us to go whenever we wanted.”

Anyways Hongjoong as a craft youtuber who lives with roommate Seonghwa who is an asmr youtuber who shares a wall with next door neighbor and twitch streamer Mingi who unknowingly keeps interrupting Seonghwa's filming and so he has a blooper reel and 90% of it is just muffled shout or sound of someone falling out of a chair and there are people who watch both and start putting two and two together and then Hongjoong creates more chaos by making things for Mingi to piss Hwa off bc sometimes that's just how best friends be and there's a growing following who watch the drama unfold like it's on jtbc and a few months later with the rivalry still going strong San and Wooyoung, a dancer who posts covers and original choreo on his channel and a loud and affectionate cook who posts recipes and does food q&a's on his channel respectively, move in on the other side of Seongjoong and quickly integrate themselves in the drama with Yeosang as a reactor who has been following the MingHwa rivalry from the jump and Yunho and Jongho as buzzfeed writers who just want to stop writing articles about these guys who end up trending on Twitter at least once a week
