ok look, this has been scratching my brain the past few days and i had to let it out, fair warning though it's not THAT shocking it just fascinates me and i was going insane as the damn linebeck stan i am

midway through this blog i just checked the zelda wiki and hyrule historia again and found out 100 years passed since then, so just a small warning this is all BEFORE i found out about the 100 year gap between the games, and theory's rather going with the more "logical" 70-80 years

This is basically related to Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks, and specifically Linebeck himself. Based on some rambles of mine one random night at 4 am, with no prior research but facts from Hyrule Historia, and autism.

In Spirit Tracks, you come across Linebeck III, who looks very similar to Linebeck himself from Phantom Hourglass. He gives you a letter from his grandpa, which is signed "Linebeck Senior". Initially I thought; "Is his grandpa Linebeck's father? Is Linebeck this guy's dad, then?" But turns out I was wrong.

I was reading Hyrule Historia the other day (i have the french version, hence the french screenshot underneath) and it says that Linebeck III is not only Linebeck's descendant as mentioned in-game but also his grandson. Therefore, Linebeck Senior is in fact the guy we all know (and love) from Phantom Hourglass.

But then I was confused. I asked myself; "Wait, how did Linebeck ALREADY have a grandson???"

Putting Linebeck aside, if we pay close attention to Niko, the silly hehe pirate from Tetra's crew who appeared since Wind Waker, we notice that he's aged up, from possibly a child/teen to a grandpa. I'd like to pretend Niko's around 14-15 during TWW and PH.

So if we think about it, a lot of time has passed since the events of Phantom Hourglass, let's say 70-80 years. we love you grandpa niko

Anyway, going back to Linebeck, let's say he's in his 40s, and so is Linebeck III (maybe younger, he seems like it), and if we still say that the average human life expectancy is 80 years, that means Linebeck III is born when his father's the same age, being 30-40 years old.

If we take this same pattern with Linebeck (Senior) and his child (Linebeck II), that means...

Linebeck's a father during the events of Phantom Hourglass???

i'm honestly shook over this fact idk why. it's just so funny to me to think of linebeck as a dad, seeing his personality and the way he acts and so on. i just always see him as some bitchless pathetic stinky garbage man LMAO

With whom did he even have this child? Jolene? Who knows?

Personally, I just think it's funny to think of Jolene's being after Linebeck's ass because of that child he possibly abandoned. But that's not the canon reason why she's after him, that being just pure revenge.

honestly i'd like to think of it like that it's just hilarious like "LINEBECK FOR FUCKS SAKE WHERES THE CHILD SUPPORT"

However, if we delve into the more canon timeline, being ST happening 100 years after PH, that would mean that Linebeck possibly had his child after finding land, by the end of PH. It's either that, or he could just be much older than I thought (like, maybe 60?) and he's already had his child.

I’m glad more people are respecting botw/totk Link as an actual character with some level of depth, but, I think too many of you are forgetting the kinda person he was after losing his memories.

He’s playful, and especially good with kids.

He is HORRIBLE at flirting, or probably only does it as a joke and isn’t serious about it. Might even say things that are inappropriate sometimes.

just a general smartass.

He’s bashful. He breaks the stoic demeanor when told he looks cute in his new outfit or is asked if he has a crush on someone lol.

Other things Link has done that I couldn’t find images of but do actually happen:

- Scamming a creep into giving him his shoes.

- (botw) Trying to actually for real use the “but I’m over 100” excuse at a bar when he was 17, and completely failing at it.

- Drank what is essentially hyrule’s equivalent to sunscreen.

- Actually enjoys eating rocks

When people try to analyze Link’s character, I notice that they try to brush off depictions if his character that are more “silly goofy guy” as ooc, when those interpretations are still actually based in canon evidence.

Even Creating a Champion describes him as “more lively” after waking up. Mipha’s journal mentions he was more happy and extroverted as a young child, implying that he likely became that way due to trauma, but still probably has those playful tendencies.

i think n25 has book talks. like they'll all get on call sometimes and jtalk about books they've read. eventually it gets to be an organized thing so everyone reads the same book and shares their opinions on it. mafuyu probably enjoys reading more classic fiction like the great gasby n shit. kanade also reads classics but in a science fiction way. like dr jekyll and mr hyde. also i think tsukasa lends her scripts so she's read through hamlet like 10 times. ena is probably a romance girl !!! she eats that shit up !!! also she was probably a warrior cats kid. mizuki reads realistic fiction. idk how to describe it. anyways they all bond over romeo and juliet because 1. mafuyu likes the classics 2. kanade enjoys analyzing every single fucking line + she got a free copy from tsukasa 3. ena likes the romance 4. mizuki likes the angst. it's a win win

elsie's unique stat to manage alongside love and lust is composure. - composure starts at 100%. - it is lowered by teasing, asking to stop sexual encounters (elsie will never impose over you, though her lust will increase), gifting sexual toys at high love, etcetera. - composure recovers over time. the lower it is, more it degrades per interaction, and it's slower in recovery. - lower composure elsie (if you aren't dating each other) will avoid you. however, it will also make her more desperate, needy, and on the whole a lot more sincere and less put together.

to be dating elsie, you'll need very high love (95% and above), low lust (less than %30, though after dating this won't matter), and less than half of composure. ^ it's not that this is a product of elsie not being fond of the player: but that she has complicated feelings regarding relationships as a whole.

hitting on elsie will lower love, as well as any sort of direct, unwanted sexual advances, or any suggestive actions at low love. this will not increase their lust if love is below 5%.

elsie's opinion of the player:

low love

low lust very high composure: elsie is indifferent around you. (default)

mid lust high-mid composure: elsie seems nonchalant. low composure: elsie avoids your eyes.

high lust very high-high composure: elsie dodges your advances. mid composure: elsie is avoiding you.

mid love

low lust very high composure: elsie is looking out for you.

mid lust: high-mid composure: elsie fidgets around you. low composure: elsie can't focus around you.

high lust high-mid composure: elsie is distracted around you. low composure: elsie is enraptured by you.

high love

low lust: very high-high composure: elsie enjoys your company.

mid lust: high-mid composure: elsie wants to protect you. low composure: elsie is conflicted.

high lust high-mid composure: elsie seems avoidant. low composure: elsie is elsewhere.

and now. the good stuff. as your girlfriend:

the office buildings (as someone whom helps you work, or in the break room. while elsie will back you up and try defend you, she won't protect you physically).

the orphanage garden.

her room (only after 21:00 and at high love).

the farmlands (only on saturday morning-noon).

elsie will avoid you at high lust and lower love, making it difficult to find or interact with her outside of class.

elsie will "lend" you everything from 50~500 quid if asked (depending on, but you don't have to give it back, even at low love). you can ask up to three times a week.

RAMBLING:

elsie is not a particularly jealous or possessive person, but she is needy as a partner. just won't ever express it.

less sexual and more genuinely tender as a li with high composure, way easier to enter sexual encounters with low

elsie will stop avoiding you and be around again once her composure recovers over in-game time.

submissive versatile. veryyy into pet play. humiliation and kink makes her brain explode.

will appear injured sometimes to school. don't worry about it.

won't talk about herself / share her burdens very often, but doesn't mind you doing so towards her with mid-high love.

you have no idea how grateful i am for this mention LMFAOOO i am very normal about linebeck. both of them. like idc linebeck iii is still linebeck to me i enjoy going to the trading post in st just to upgrade my train and then cry weep and sob over not having enough black pearl necklaces for a train part that looks really pretty to me so i just end up selling some of my treasure til i realize that the zora crown is cheaper than i thought so ok now i officially would punt linebeck iii to space just for ripping me off
