This is Etta Hampton (Ezy) aka The Recluse the one and only Spiderwoman of New Tulsa on earth 9539
Etta is 17 and lives with her Uncle Barney who owns the Urban Stables that most people in North use for boarding. Etta's lived with her Uncle Barney since she was seven after the death of her parents in a mysterious OzCorp Refinery explosion. She has an army of aunties and cousins that live on the East Coast in Old York or DC.
Etta is incredibly smart, soft spoken and caring. She loves ATV or horse trail riding, welding, pottery, and botany. To the point she plans on triple majoring civil engineering, mechanical engineering and sculpture after she graduates from the Parker's Gifted Academy. Her uncle is her biggest supporter for her education and hobby pursuits and gave her her own garage/studio to work in.
Etta is best friends with the fire chief's son Bart Brown (9539's Hobie), the Bugle Radio's owner's daughter Merry Jameson ( 9539's MJ) and Harry O. (9539's green goblin who just causes more chaos over harm, absolutely hate his father) who the world fattest crush on her and she is 100% oblivious to it.
When Etta was 14 she stormed off after an argument with various of her visiting aunties about her "manish" pursuits she took her four-wheeler and went off trail to a forbidden zone that was the contamination and closed of remains of the OzCorp Refinery. While exploring the remains, Etta was bitten by a radioactive Brown Recluse when security guards had cornered her and she was forced to hide in one of the old R&D offices.
She has the usual power set for a spider person: Spidey sense, the ability to stick to walls, super strength and super agility. Along with long sharp nails that are extremely durable and sharpened canines that have a paralytic and necrotic venom. Etta has two specialty abilities: one is to produce different kinds of acid from her hands and apply it to her organic webs to create different kinds of traps or help her to escape. The other is an ability to control her temperature to the point she can send heat waves of energy off her body or stun/shock others with a fridged touch.
As the Recluse her biggest foes are Cyclone Sandman, Cotton Mouth, and King Scorpion. She has a half allyship with the for hire thief/ spy Prowler (Miles M. Davis) and Green Goblin (she usually just catches and releases with his antics) the fire chief and sheriff work well with her. In school as her regular persona her academic rival is Miles.
Etta tricked out an ATV to fit her theme and made it hover/wall fly so she can still get to places that don't have the highrises that need her help. She controls it remotely sometimes to help rescue people or lead the emergency services to a location/criminals she's taken care of. This causes her Uncle Barney to think she is a close friend of Recluse and works on her tech. He likes Recluse but is highly worried for 'both' their safeties.
The only "Canon Events" she has gone through is the death of her parents and giving up being Spiderwoman for a while after she failed to save a little boy's parents during a train derailment caused by Sandman.
Miguel sent Jess and Ben to recruit her for the Spider Society after she dealt with a Vulture variant and he worried over the fact that her Gwen Stacy event hadn't occurred yet (death of Harry in her case, his spine snaps as he is GG when she tired to stop him from plummeting after a mid-air battle) they haven't explained this to her yet. Etta tries to stay in her world but really likes collaborating on inventions with other spider-peoples and usually sticks to the R&D or repair department over missions.
Is works besties with Margo but highly distrusts Lyla. She partial mentors under Jess and let's Gwen stay in her dimension sometimes when Hobie's world is overwhelming.
Loves blooming onions and other savory snacks, it's not unusual to see her as Recluse snacking on jerky or street corn. Tamale ladies love her. Often wears overalls or jeans jackets over her spider suit. Has hella Spotify followers because her playlists are absolutely fire (even Miles admits this)
And that's kinda it! I have hella backstory about my girl, please ask about her😁💛

Omniverse - Another crazy Spider-Verse crossover idea I had, this time based on Ben 10
Yep, I had this idea floating around in my head for quite a bit today, in part thanks to reading up plenty about Ben 10 on the TV Tropes wiki. It got me imagining; what if we had another Spider-Verse-esque crossover, but involving the universe of Ben 10 instead?
I mean, the premise of alternate realities and timelines has been explored quite a bit in the many iterations of the franchise (like Gwen getting the Omnitrix instead of Ben or Ben's other alternate counterparts), and it got me imagining a cast line-up for the concept. The ones I thought up for the story are as follows:
Omni-Gang
Miles Morales / Spider-Man II = Alt Alan Albright / Alan Fanon (harbouring on him being a fanon counterpart to the original)
Peter B. Parker / Spider-Man = Ben A. Tennyson / Ben 10
Gwen Stacy / Spider-Woman = Julie Yamamoto / Julie 30
Spider-Man Noir = Classic Cartoon Ben 10
Spider-Ham = Reboot Ben 10
Peni Parker and SP//dr = Anime Lucy Mann and Ship
Pavitr Prabhakr / Spider-Man India = India Jimmy Jones
Hobie Brown / Spider-Punk = Ultimate Ben 10,000
Margo Kess / Spider-Byte = Gwen 10
Mayday Parker = Toddler Ken Green-Tennyson
Villains (Into the Omniverse)
William "Kingpin" Fisk = Phil Billings
Aaron Davis / The Prowler = Manny Armstrong / Techadon Warrior
Olivia Octavius / Doc-Ock = Arshika Charlie Animo / Dr. Animo
Green Goblin = Sunder the Retriever
Tombstone = Fistrick
Scorpion = Vulkanus
Villains (Across/Beyond the Omniverse)
Adriano Tumino / Renaissance Vulture = Pastel Master Kundo
Jonathan Ohnn / The Spot = Albedo / Negative Ben 10
Armadillo = Ssserpent
Miles G. Morales = Alan K. Albright
Villains (Miscellaneous)
Doctor Crawdaddy = Tim Buktu (Ben 10 Reboot)
Pavitr's Hobgoblin = Trombipulor
Omni-Society
Miguel O'Hara / Spider-Man 2099 = Reboot Evil Ben 10/Alien X
Lyla = Alternate Glitch (in a Gwen form)
Jessica Drew / Spider-Woman = Molly Gunther
Ben Reilly / Scarlet Spider = Ben 23
Supporting Cast (Base Universe)
Jefferson Morales = Alt Pierce Wheels
Rio Morales = Alt Helen Wheels
Spider-Man I = Ben B. Tennyson / Ben 10
May Parker = Grandpa Max Tennyson
Mary-Jane Watson-Parker = Kai Green-Tennyson
Ganke Lee = JT
Supporting Cast (Ben A.'s universe)
Mary-Jane Watson = Kai Green
Supporting Cast (Julie's universe)
Peter Parker / The Lizard = Ben Tennyson / Zs'Skayr
Captain George Stacy = Victor Valadis
Supporting Cast (Jimmy's universe)
Gayatri Singh = Elena Valadis
Supporting Cast (Alan K.'s universe)
Rio Morales = Alt Helen Wheels
The Omnitrix is the swap-in for the radioactive spider here, and whoever finds it is the one (in)voluntarily assigned to help protect the universe from all sorts of threats, whether they wish to or not, sending their life from ordinary to extraordinary fast.
I picked Julie specifically for the role of Spider-Gwen, considering how she lost her overall touch in the series after Omniverse (and kinda because I personally shipped Ben and Julie as a kid, even with their rough spots), hence why I felt she and Alan would make a good fit for each other due to similar insecurities.
I had been thinking carefully about the roles to assign to each character I could. I originally intended Ben 23 to be the swap-in for Spider-Ham, but considering how full of himself he was before Omniverse Ben/Ben Prime came along (which is why he's in Reilly's place), I felt Reboot Ben 10, whose world is less serious than the others, could fit the role better, whilst also inheriting sympathetic traits like relating to losing someone close.
The Classic Cartoon Ben 10 isn't from the ORIGINAL storyline, but rather one based on classic cartoons from the 60s and 70s, just to avoid confusion there. Lucy Mann's genki girl approach, for one, made her a perfect fit for Peni's role here, too.
And considering Jimmy Jones is a big fan of Ben 10 in canon (and was respected for it in Ultimate Alien), I felt the naïve newcomer status could work for an alternate universe version of him from India. And as Ultimate Ben 10,000 is pretty much on top of his game (alongside being less likely to steer towards canon), he fits well for Hobie's role.
The evil reboot Ben 10, I felt, fits well for the role of Miguel, since he lost his Gwen and Max when they tried to save him, which led him down a darker path in life and required FIVE Omnitrix users to take him down. Likewise, I thought a Gwen variant of Glitch to go with him (which fits well with her sass in the series proper) fits Lyla's role as a digital assistant to a futuristic hero.
Since the four Plumbers' Helpers are of similar age, I felt that Pierce and Helen are Alan's legal guardians in Bellwood, alongside both assisting the Plumbers in protecting Earth. Manny, who has Aaron's role, is the most hot-headed of the four, but has a good heart deep down.
The reason for Alan having to inherit his Ben's role is through inheriting his Omnitrix after Ben gives him the responsibility to protect his world for him, and his compatibility with it came from the other dimension thanks to the experiments Phil's scientists were doing. As for the whole hair-sticking incident, Julie's hair was longer (as far down as her waist) before the accident, and at present, it's as long as in canon.
Max being the badass old man, no matter what universe, comes with the territory anyway, same with him being tech-savvy, which allows him to help Alan adjust to being the new hero. Kai is also commonly the girl Ben ultimately ends up marrying between universes, and JT being Alan's roomie contributes to him being the more chill between him and Cash (the glasses are a plus, too).
I also thought carefully about the rogues gallery between stories from throughout Ben 10's history, like having a female counterpart to Dr. Animo, or Ssserpent being the random villain Alan has to quickly deal with on his way back home with a cake, due to the villain's butt-monkey status in his first two appearances (he got better on the third).
Zs'Sakyr, I felt, was the best counterpart to represent The Lizard in Omniverse, since he's Ghostfreak's true self who tried possessing Ben and gaining full power over the Omnitrix. And I've kept up with the theme of altering art styles for the AU version of Master Kundo (like how Vulture was from the Renaissance, Green Impostor (Funkinverse) was from a sketchbook, and Snively (from my work, IAB!) was from a cell-shaded world).
Albedo, I thought, would be the best option available for a swap-in for Ohnn, as he became villainous through making a fake Omnitrix that made him a direct doppelganger of Ben (until a bioenergy feedback caused his appearance to shift), and since he fell into D-List villain territory, I felt he could have the biggest voyage to become an arch-enemy that Alan CAN'T ignore in general.
You guys are welcome to take all that as you will, and make up your own ideas on how things will turn out for them. See you later!

Do you have any headcanon voices for your older versions of the Psychonauts cast?
now that you mention it…
I think Raz’s voice never got that deep. He still sounds like a bat, just a bigger one, another trait that he expected to be different (he totally thought he’d have gains like Rambo by 20). He uses this to his advantage, tricking people into thinking he’s a child or a lady over the phone. Never abuses this ability.
Lili’s voice got somewhat deeper but it’s still full of sarcasm and superiority. It’s even a little screechy at times, kinda like Mackenzie Zales from MPGIS.
Bobby got some gruff to his voice and the lisp went away but sometimes he goes back to sounding like a strangled goose when he’s freaking out.
Dogen sounds like Johnathan Davis
JTs accent smoothed like whiskey. He’s become a southern gent. Not too rough, not too soft. Doesn’t say as many of the cliche cowboy stuff as he used to, well rather, his comments are more clever.
Nils probably sounds a little like Dante (DMC3 version), and says less grating stuff because he’s grown out of it.
Elka probably sounds like Elle Woods. Punctuation and poise and all that because she’s professional
Kitty has an intentional smoothness to hers, half the time with a bite of insincerity. A little like ORen Ishii. I know, kitty has been observed as possibly Asian and Lucy Liu is Asian, but that’s not why I figure that. I can’t think of anyone else with a voice like that.
Frankie’s voice is oddly deep, which she tries to elevate to seem more effeminate. It’s kinda cute tho. She’s like Raz with the ability to fool people with voice acting.
Norma’s is mostly the same, except refined to command the attention of a room. She’s still improving
It’s fun to think about these things lol

OK, now that the Outlast Trials got a full release, I’m updating my list of “repeated themes in the series” to be my predictions for when Outlast 3 comes out:
Shawn Baichoo returns as the (a?) player character.
More recurring actors (i.e. Marcel Jeannin, Chimwemwe Miller, Andreas Apergis, Carlo Mestroni, Karl Graboshas, Edward Yankie).
This is something I noticed with a lot of the actors, but a huge chunk of them were also in the TV show Real Detective, and Andreas Apergis and Tyrone Benskin were also in the same season of Channel Zero. And Lucinda Davis was in the shitty anime spinoff of Supernatural. This kinda reminds me of the old joke about the BBC having like ten actors, five sets, and three props, except it’s Canada.
Based on the above, my first two guesses for new cast members are Tahmoh Penikett and Marina Stephenson Kerr.
One of the characters does a weirdly sexual licking of the player character’s face.
One of the characters does some gross sexual shit (whether it’s offscreen assault like Knoth and Loutermilch, whatever Val did to Blake during their first meeting on top of the lick, or weird surgeries like Gluskin).
Someone gets crucified.
If we’re returning to the old formula of using a video camera, that gets lost for a while.
Prequel comics.
At least one cult. IDK if it’d worship whatever the Walrider became after the events of the first set of comics, or if it’d be your usual religious cult like in Outlast 2 or what.
At least one fucked up elevator like the dumbwaiter that led to Trager or the one in the lobby of Mount Massive or the one that led to the mines. (Based on two of these, bonus points if the elevator leads to the endgame level.)
The player character gets dropped into a pile of dead bodies (or severed limbs).
The floor has to collapse under the player character.
One of three outcomes for the player character: Final Girl Syndrome like Waylon, Tragic Yet Kinda Ambiguous Death like Miles and maybe the Trials reagents, or Still in Murkoff’s Clutches like Blake.
Shitty weather in an outdoor courtyard fucks with the night vision like the exercise yards at Mount Massive or the school roof in the second game.
Traumatic hand injuries like Miles losing fingers or Blake getting crucified or the apple and Futterman jump scare in the Trials tutorial.
A pitch black area where you have to trudge through water like the one section of sewers in the first game or the part where you have to listen for Jessica before ending up in the school’s pool in the second game.
Hanging bodies in a gym (Gluskin’s victims in the gym in Whistleblower, a fuckton of Jessicas in Outlast 2, and the mannequins (and a couple snitches) in the police station trials).
Having to turn on a generator, turn off something electrical, or turn some big valve on or off. While being chased by enemies on the way. Preferably in a waterlogged area.
Someone’s naked.
Whatever it was JT Petty said in the one anniversary Q&A video on YouTube about including at least one genitalia mutilation in every game (i.e. a number of player character deaths - Marta in the second game and Coyle in Trials come to mind first, plus Gluskin’s whole thing in Whistleblower, plus the chapel bit in the orphanage trial).

So I just realized that Emma from Degrassi reminds me a lot of Haley of One Tree Hill: very ethical and concerned with doing the right thing, academic, a little uptight/self-righteous (not sure these are the right adjectives here but you get the point!), kind, helpful, loyal and with a slight rebellious streak. I see Sean and Nathan as pretty similar too and think Emma and Haley both ended up with the perfect guys to complement them! Manny is even a little like Brooke. Anyway, do any other Degrassi characters remind you of characters from One Tree Hill, Gossip Girl, Gilmore girls, or anything else else?!
Those are interesting comparison to make! Personally, I wouldn't have thought to compare Haley to Emma. To me, she's more of a mix of Clare and Maya than Emma. But you raise good points and I can definitely see where you're coming from there. Admittedly, I don't see a lot of Sean and Nathan parallels, but they're not.. totally opposite? It's just harder to overlook the class differences and Sean having more freedom and kind of being pushed out of his parents' lives vs Nathan who arguably had too much parental influence in all the wrong ways. But both had anger problems and benefited from knowing and falling for their main love interests. Manny and Brooke make a lot of sense! Hmm, I'd have to think. Off the top of my head:
Zig Novak - Pacey Witter (Dawson's Creek)
Sean Cameron - Ryan Atwood (The OC)
Ellie Nash - Peyton Sawyer (OTH)
Fiona Coyne - Blair Waldorf/Brooke Davis (Gossip Girl/OTH)
Declan Coyne - Chuck Bass (To be honest, Declan and Fiona were blatantly Gossip Girl ripoffs)
Zoe Rivas - Santana Lopez/Alex Dupre (Glee/OTH)
Eli Goldsworthy - Jughead Jones (I hate it so much because I really like one and despise the other, but it's the truth)/Dawson Leery (Riverdale/Dawson's Creek)
Miles Hollingsworth - Logan Echolls/Nathan Scott (Veronica Mars/OTH)
Craig Manning - Dylan McKay (Beverly Hills 90210)
Liberty Van Zandt - Jal Fazer (Skins)
Grace Cardinal - Mac (Veronica Mars)
Esme Song - Rachel Gatina/Valerie Malone (OTH/Beverly Hills 90210)
Bianca DeSousa - Jen Lindley/Theresa Diaz (Dawson's Creek/The OC)
Alex Nunez - Alex Kelly (The OC)
JT Yorke - Chris Miles/David Silver (Skins/Beverly Hills 90210)
Becky Baker - Donna Martin/Andie McPhee (Beverly Hills 90210/Dawson's Creek)

Inside Llewyn Davis (2013)
Tumblr media
In the last quarter of 2022, I decided to switch up the nearly year-long horror movie binge I embarked on to catch up on all the fright flicks I had avoided for so long.  I’m sure you can imagine, but taking in over one hundred films in a genre full of gruesome images and deaths, themes, and often uneven storytelling (which is a kind way to say Friday the 13th: Parts 5 – Manhattan played like there was no script) can get a bit tiring.
When looking for my next movie viewing challenge, I realized I had missed out on so many films from renowned directors.  I claim Quentin Tarantino as my all-time favorite director but had never seen his grindhouse homage Death Proof, or applauded the work of Stanley Kubrick but had never watched his self-proclaimed legacy stain Spartacus. Therefore, I began to seek out the movies making up gaps in acclaimed directors’ filmographies to catch myself up.
Inside Llewyn Davis was released in 2013, starred Oscar Isaac, and was directed by the Coen Brothers (Ethan and Joel, but if you’re reading a move blog and didn’t know the brothers’ names you might wonder if you’re wasting your time here).  I’m a fan of Oscar Isaac, and feel he’s able to take on various characters and I buy it almost everytime. The only exception is whatever the f**k he was doing in Moon Knight. I’ve only seen the first 2 episodes but that accent is going to keep me away from the remaining six. At the time of this film’s release though, I would have only known him from Drive (love) and Body of Lies (oof).
The movie follows Isaac as a struggling, couch-surfing folk singer in 1960s Greenwich Village. The movie opens with a couple minute scene of Isaac singing and strumming his acoustic guitar at one of his repeat stomping grounds the Gaslight Café.  It is one of those scenes that grabs you immediately and lets you know you’re in for a good time. It sets the tone and grit of the film, and the punch Llewyn takes in the back alley after the performance lets you know quite literally the hits he’ll be taking.
The acting in the film is perfect, with Carey Mulligan delivering a fantastic payoff for why her character is so seemingly abusive to Llewyn throughout most of the film, and some great characters along the way. I had no idea Justin Timberlake was in this movie, but he’s good and I am never mad to have a little JT in my motion pictures. Oh, and there’s a cat too.
There’s not much else I can say about the movie, it’s another notch on the Coen Brother’s belt of great films that I’ll recommend to anyone that can stomach a good drama (AKA not my dad).  I’d personally put it right below The Big Lebowski and right above Raising Arizona (which I saw late and don’t have the reverence for it that so many do).  If you haven’t seen it, check it out and let me know how wrong I am for every opinion I’ve stated here.
Inside Llewyn Davis: 8.0/10
