In case you were wondering about my sexuality (you probably weren't but I don't care) I'm boring: cishet.
HOWEVER! Not all of my characters are!
Torxen: Cishet.
Llewyn: Cishet
Arget: Asexual heteroromantic
Belior: Bisexual
Jade: Lesbian
Avien: Gay
Nehil: Asexual aromantic
I may end up needing some help writing some of them. Also don't worry, I want to make a trans character but I don't have any ideas yet. Maybe a shapeshifter, but that seems more gender fluid/other nonbinary to me.

Chapter Two: Arathane
As Torxen entered Arathane, he noticed that something seemed… off. The streets should have been more crowded at this hour, but instead, they were nearly empty. Torxen pulled out his sword, preparing to defend himself if needed, and promptly fumbled and dropped it.
“Doorknob nuggets,” he muttered frustratedly, reaching down to pick up the sword again. When he looked back up he noticed Arget looking at him and grinning.
“Doorknob nuggets? Seriously? Why do you even have a sword? You’ll hurt yourself before you hit anything,” Arget teased.
“I’ve been practicing. I can hit plenty of things,” Torxen replied seriously.
“I noticed. The ground is a tough opponent though, so you were probably outmatched.”
“I’ll have you know I was winning when you showed up.” Torxen grinned. “It’s good to see you, Art. What’re you doing here?”
“I could ask you the same thing.” Arget suddenly became more serious. “Something weird is happening here, and I don’t like it.”
“In what way?”
“Some stranger who calls himself ‘Bard’ brought me here after he caught me trying to steal from him at the White Hawk Inn.” Arget looked curiously at Torxen. “He told the innkeeper I was his grandson Luke. He should have been angry at me, but he covered for me.”
“Maybe he got mixed up?”
“No, he knew my real name. He also somehow knew you. He knew you were coming here.”
Torxen sat down, concerned. He hadn’t told anyone he was coming to Arathane. Only Arget even knew Torxen sometimes left Cryntin to come here.
As Torxen tried to make sense of everything, a man came up to them carrying a girl who seemed to be about the same age as Torxen. Oddly enough, the man seemed somehow familiar.
“Well, I see you two found each other easily enough. Torxen, Arget, this is Llewyn. From now on, she’ll be traveling with you.” The man, who Torxen now realized must be Bard, gently set Llewyn down on the ground. Llewyn huddled into a ball and sat perfectly still not seeming to see any of them.
“What do you mean she’ll be traveling with us?” Arget asked apprehensively. “Are we going somewhere? Who is she?”
“Her name is Llewyn, and she’ll be traveling with you to the gap in the White Wall. Then through to Cryptos. After that, we’ll see.”
“Cryptos?” Arget and Torxen spoke at the same time, Arget nervously, Torxen excitedly.
“Wait, a gap in the White Wall?” Torxen questioned. “Is that even possible?”
“If it weren’t, it wouldn’t be there,” Bard answered.
“Shouldn’t we let the Watch take care of it?” Arget suggested anxiously.
Bard turned to Arget, suddenly very serious. “No. This is a matter the Watch should not even know about. Only you three, and eventually a fourth, will know of this.”
There was a brief silence then, broken by the sound of many footsteps converging on their location. “Well, time to go,” Torxen said, standing up.
“Don’t forget Llewyn,” Bard reminded, pulling her to her feet. “Oh, and I would suggest taking the scenic route.”
“The what?”
“The long way. Avoid populated areas for the most part, unless absolutely necessary.”
“Why?”
“Just trust me.”
“That’s hard to do when we know basically nothing about you,” Torxen retorted, but still found himself trusting this somehow familiar man. Why was he so familiar? Torxen was sure he had never met him before.

Inside Llewyn Davis (2013)
Tumblr media
In the last quarter of 2022, I decided to switch up the nearly year-long horror movie binge I embarked on to catch up on all the fright flicks I had avoided for so long.  I’m sure you can imagine, but taking in over one hundred films in a genre full of gruesome images and deaths, themes, and often uneven storytelling (which is a kind way to say Friday the 13th: Parts 5 – Manhattan played like there was no script) can get a bit tiring.
When looking for my next movie viewing challenge, I realized I had missed out on so many films from renowned directors.  I claim Quentin Tarantino as my all-time favorite director but had never seen his grindhouse homage Death Proof, or applauded the work of Stanley Kubrick but had never watched his self-proclaimed legacy stain Spartacus. Therefore, I began to seek out the movies making up gaps in acclaimed directors’ filmographies to catch myself up.
Inside Llewyn Davis was released in 2013, starred Oscar Isaac, and was directed by the Coen Brothers (Ethan and Joel, but if you’re reading a move blog and didn’t know the brothers’ names you might wonder if you’re wasting your time here).  I’m a fan of Oscar Isaac, and feel he’s able to take on various characters and I buy it almost everytime. The only exception is whatever the f**k he was doing in Moon Knight. I’ve only seen the first 2 episodes but that accent is going to keep me away from the remaining six. At the time of this film’s release though, I would have only known him from Drive (love) and Body of Lies (oof).
The movie follows Isaac as a struggling, couch-surfing folk singer in 1960s Greenwich Village. The movie opens with a couple minute scene of Isaac singing and strumming his acoustic guitar at one of his repeat stomping grounds the Gaslight Café.  It is one of those scenes that grabs you immediately and lets you know you’re in for a good time. It sets the tone and grit of the film, and the punch Llewyn takes in the back alley after the performance lets you know quite literally the hits he’ll be taking.
The acting in the film is perfect, with Carey Mulligan delivering a fantastic payoff for why her character is so seemingly abusive to Llewyn throughout most of the film, and some great characters along the way. I had no idea Justin Timberlake was in this movie, but he’s good and I am never mad to have a little JT in my motion pictures. Oh, and there’s a cat too.
There’s not much else I can say about the movie, it’s another notch on the Coen Brother’s belt of great films that I’ll recommend to anyone that can stomach a good drama (AKA not my dad).  I’d personally put it right below The Big Lebowski and right above Raising Arizona (which I saw late and don’t have the reverence for it that so many do).  If you haven’t seen it, check it out and let me know how wrong I am for every opinion I’ve stated here.
Inside Llewyn Davis: 8.0/10

A lot of my magic user characters have this. One of the few exceptions is a character who doesn't technically have powers themselves.

Why does he do this? I mean, I do something sort of similar with Llewyn and Torxen.
I think I understand now.

It has come to my attention that NO ONE has checked out Ryft. Seriously, go to @belior and check the pinned post. Give feedback too please. If necessary I will do callouts for pm seymour and bettina levy, as well as several other blogs. Don't make me do it, I will. I'm willing to go to great lengths for this. Some people have expressed interest in the project, but no one has looked at it. I know. It's a google doc, I can see how many different people have viewed it, it's just me. LOOK AT IT! I'll even put it here too!
See? There it is. Now go! Read! Or else!
Please?

Player Characters
Since this game is heavily character-led, it only makes sense to write some biographies for the PCs.
Beatrice Folly - She/Her - Half-Elf Peace Cleric
Corvus Harrow - He/They - Tiefling (Reborn) Oath of the Dragon Paladin/Undead Warlock
Dunrich - He/Him - Dwarf Hunter Ranger/Phantom Rogue
Glau Summerrush - He/Him - Halfling (Reborn) Spores Druid
Llewyn Wolf-Kissed - She/They - Shadar-Kai Thief Rogue
Madea Whitewhistle - Any/All - Changeling Pheonix Sorcerer

I would say this is Llewyn, but I don't want to call her a witch since she was nearly burned as one.
A touch starved witch who heals wounded travellers through embrace but loses composure midway through and forgets she was meant to be healing you
